Waiting for the audio to be fixed within the assembly hall was taking a painfully long time. Watching those, that clearly had no idea what they were doing rinse and repeat the same attempts of fixing everything. The sharp ring from the microphone caused Akira to grit his teeth from irritation. Perhaps that was supposed to be a sign to them having almost everything fixed? Akira sighed as he continued to tap away on his legs, his patience slowly running more and more thin. There was literally nothing to do other than what he was doing, and talking, both of which now felt like a maximum effort activity. But then an idea struck him and he turned to look to Tomomi once more "So..." But before he could continue it would seem the audio had been fixed as the assembly began. A look of annoyance on his face, Akira turned back to face the front of the hall once more.
It was the usual yearly drivel, half-empty promises which most people would likely forget about in a month. There was of course the speech about students directing their activities to something more productive. "Like that'll happen." Akira mumbled to himself as he continued to listen. The assembly dragged on as Akira lost more and more interest merely wanting the ordeal to come to it's end. It eventually would and everyone would end up shuffling their way out of the assembly hall and back to their homerooms. "Interesting as ever eh?" Akira directed to Tomomi before getting up himself to join those making their way back to class.
The day went by with very short classes. Each break between them Akira would reach for his books and open them to a random page before deliberately holding them in front of his face to discourage conversation with his peers. Any that were not able to read this obvious sign were either ignored until they went away, or met with uncomfortable silence and blank eye contact until they decided to leave him alone. With the day ending so soon Akira wasn't really sure what to do with his time, he could just head home? Or perhaps aimlessly wonder around town to try and find something mildly interesting? He, unlike most of the other students didn't have any friends that he was intending to spend his afternoon with, but it didn't really bother him. Akira simply watched others leave as he gathered his books up placing all but one back within it. He opened the book, searching for the carefully creased paged which marked his progress, softly brushing the crease back and continuing to read. A moment of normality within a somewhat different day to what he had been used to since moving to Inaba.
