Hi, it's me again.
I want to write an RP where audience participation and commenting is encouraged. However, I don't know how well it'll be received. So, do you read other people's RPs, even though you don't play a part in them?

Rarely, and always because I can't become involved for some reason. Not enough time, RP is full or already too far along, etc. It doesn't seem like it'd make much sense to have an 'audience' for your RP. This is a collaborative writing website after all; why would you intentionally relegate a potential player to merely watching and commenting?

I'm following one or two. I don't do that often though.

I wish I had the time to keep up with others. With all the Rp's I am currently Gming, there just isn't enough hours in the day to pick up any others for just reading enjoyment.

Sometimes when I'm browsing away I check out a few RPs that catch my eye - mainly those that have been active for a very long time and/or have tons of posts. Especially in the 1x1 section. I've seen two years old RPs with thousands of OOC posts, all between two people and no one else. What amazing adventures must have they gone through in all that time!

Not unless there's drama.

I'm with Mateotis, I like to browse 1x1 RPs and I tend to do it quite often. Most of the time, they're easy to follow (since it's only two people) and tend to last longer (hence there is more to read). Admittedly, this is one of the reasons that I'm rockin' ghost mode - I like to lurk on threads and read other people's Roleplays.

Only time I ever read another RP I'm not in is when I'm looking to see what someone's writing style is like, and even then it'd only be a post.

Back in my high school years I read a lot of other people's RP's in order to get familiar with different writing styles and to steal particularly interesting ideas (not ashamed at all!). These days I don't have as much time, so I mainly stick to the stuff I'm involved in, but I occasionally open up random RP's and start reading. I just love good writing, so even if I can't make sense of the story I'll go through a couple of posts.
