LOCATION }} TRAIN → GLOUCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS
INTERACTING WITH }} EACH OTHER (@foxygen)

Train bathrooms were not the most romantic setting, but they would do for now. If the group planned on running for some time, the ‘sun and moon’ may as well get used to this.

As Max exited from the cramped little room, he thought it wasn’t such an impossible task. Dragging his fingers through his messy hair and trying desperately to fix the stretched collar of his shirt, it registered that secrecy would be the most difficult part of this arrangement. There was, of course, the option to have one or the other stay behind a few minutes and exit at different times, but everyone was used to them by now for sure - and, besides, they’d already left together. For criminals, they weren’t exactly subtle.

Although he certainly wanted to, Max didn’t drag Spencer out; instead, he just waved a hand after himself, beckoning, to avoid being too demanding. The others were sat a few rows down, crowded around one of the few available booths with a table, and in various states of being: sleeping, reading, toying with MP3 players and other devices. Uninterested in any of that, Max went for today’s newspaper, evidently left by someone else. His eyes grazed over it and he plopped down into a seat across the aisle from their table, rubbing sweat from his face with his sleeve as he read.

A very specific section caught his eye, and he contemplated setting it out before the others for them to see for themselves, but of course they had illiterate kids in the group. Sad, really. Decidedly unsettled by the report, he handed it over to Spencer, brow suddenly furrowed. “Read that,” he said resignedly, unsure whether to feel disheartened by their appearance in public text or proud of newfound fame.

A group of teenagers from Boston, Massachusetts have gone missing after being arrested by the Boston Police Department. They were last seen escaping the premises on July 15th at 5pm, but nearly 2 months later, there’s still no sign of the group that is now being dubbed “The Boston Renegades”.

Hailing from international homes, authorities aren’t sure how these Renegades came together, or what their common purpose is. However, the timing of their disappearances has led us to believe they are involved with one another in some way.

The other boy took it from Max’s hands, his cedar eyes scanning over the words; hunting for some form of comfort or pride in what was being shown to him. There was no such thing. His brow furrowed as he read on, staring at his and his lover’s mugshots. It was all so surreal. He knew they were on the run, but he never for one second thought that anyone would consider them missing, or anything of the sort. Actually seeing the news in front of him almost became a burden. “What the… who the fuck are ‘The Boston Renegades’? Are we some sort of pop group, now?” Spencer quipped, hopefully not too loud. The thought of being demoralised to nothing more than some cheap name was… enraging, to say the least. He looked back up at Max, a burning fire in his eyes, yet, at the same time, sadness. Like fire and ice, swirling about and dancing at the cedar iris.

Suddenly, the lights show ended, as Spencer came to realisation. “We have to get off the train. Like, as soon as possible,” he whispered, standing up abruptly and wandering towards one of the exit points. To be honest, he sucked ass at being ‘inconspicuous’. Luckily for him, the driver’s voice blasted through the speakers, announcing their next stop - Gloucester, MA.

Max’s gaze followed Spencer, a little uncomfortable with the sudden shift in mood. Wasn't anything out of norm for him, though, so Max stood and went right after, frowning at the announcement. The USA was too gigantic to get very far at all - to be fair, they’d only been on the train a couple of hours, give or take, but they were still in the same stupid state. He just took comfort in the fact that they were directly on the coast now. When the doors of the train slid open, he ensured the rest of them got out first, taking a headcount all the while (although the other passengers weren’t exactly happy getting their exit route cut off). Backpack tight on his shoulders from where it’d formally been beneath their train table and newspaper clutched in his hand, Max hopped off the train last after Spencer, keeping his head down to avoid recognition.

He was lucky enough to have a pretty unimpressive face, but Spencer… well. Spencer had some very distinctive features. At least neither of them dressed too uniquely to fit in with the general public. In fact, Max was dressed in a black shirt and jeans that must have been blue at one point but were now distressed to the point of greyness - he just looked like a trashy teenager. Probably not the best apparel for their new milieu, sun bright in the summer and the wind mild. “You ever seen the ocean?” he mused, coming close to Spencer’s shoulder so his voice could be heard. “We have to stay here for a while. Transport authorities around Boston will be keeping an eye out for our faces.”

“Yeah, I’m thinking we travel by foot and take rides in some people’s trucks, if they’ll let so many teenagers ride at one time. Just until people forget about that newspaper article,” Spencer murmured back, looking behind them to make sure they had everyone. Yup, that seemed like their usual amount. He just thanked god they were all okay with, well, running away from their goddamn lives. The more he thought about it, the more he regretted it, but as long as Max was with him, he’d at least be happy. He just couldn’t dare think about what happened if they tried to return to their normal lives. Would their families get killed, along with them? How would Michaels deal with them - completely erase them, like nothing?

Spencer shuddered, shaking back the thoughts, before turning to the group after stopping further down the platform. “Alright, we’re gonna have to find a place to camp out for the night. Hope you all packed some bed supplies,” he said, rather bluntly. No point getting their hopes up, was there?

Max, on the other hand, continued the thought process that apparently was mutual between them. Family. He hadn’t seen his mother in years, and if Michaels somehow tracked down his father, he really wouldn’t mind it. The elder Reed man was not exactly pleasant. As for Spencer’s family, it was none of Max’s business, but he felt they deserved whatever fate Michaels had in mind for them; call him a cynic, but he had no remorse for unaccepting parents. He didn’t voice these thoughts, of course. Instead, Max just backed up Spencer’s short message to the others with a reassuring smile of his own. Damage control, if you will.

A glance spared towards the signs lining the station told Max that they’d landed in West Gloucester. Weaving through the crowd, he navigated towards the information center and grabbed a booklet, seeing a section about a nearby shelter but quickly skimming over it. Shelters always asked for too much personal information - they had none of that to spare. However, there was a campground a little further north, and although it wasn’t ideal to stay outside during a summer night… it was better than risking being caught at a hotel or any of those homely inns nearby. The minimal lodging offered very small cabins, at least. “Spence, how’s this?” he offered, leaning over to share the pamphlet.

Spencer looked to what Max was handing him, hesitating for a brief moment. After all, the last time he’d been handed something to read by Max was when he found out they had the whole city looking for them, too. Regardless, he took the pamphlet, looking over it. “Holy fucking shit, this is like, perfect,” he murmured, holding the piece of paper like it were an ancient artefact. Turning to the group, he put on his best game face. He had to keep their hopes realistic, but stop them from dropping too much, too. “Alright, Max has found us a place to stay. It’s not exactly a deluxe spa hotel, but a campground’s better than nothing, right? Plus, it’s less likely that they’ll find us. I don’t think Michaels has people ‘round that area. We can probably make it there by tonight. Whaddya say?” he questioned, hoping that nobody would have any opposing thoughts. Though, then again, they couldn’t exactly complain - it was better than being turned in or sleeping on the streets.

Interacting with: ‘Boston Renegades’, Max and Spencer in particular @foxygen @Wade Wilson

Usually whenever Max and Spencer (whom Emily persistently dubbed M’Spencer often) were somewhere together alone Emily usually had her two cents to put in about it but today her mind was too busy messing with her as she fiddled with her MP3 player. Sure, she hadn’t fit the stature of a law abiding citizen or even a ‘good’ girl in that case but never did she think the stakes would become so high. Sure, prison was something. Not the best of places, especially after she’d banged with every decent male prisoner (and even an officer, leaving him handcuffed to one of the cells, his pants on the other side of the room), in the jail. That was when it really become a nuisance. All the same she was glad for the breakout. She suspected she’d somehow breakout but not so soon, never did she consider it was come to this, both the people of justice and the king of crime on her tail.

Although she wasn’t quite able to formulate the words as M’Spencer (insert fedora tip here) took their seat she gave them a suggestive glance which said just what she had everytime, ”Did you lovebirds have fun getting busy?” waiting for them both to get her facial message before giving them a mischievous glance alongside a snicker before returning to playing around with her MP3, head bopping along to the music, a faint sound possible to be heard by those close enough. Sure, the non-verbal comment was in good fun, in most cases that two people willingingly walked into room alone she’d imply they were banging or doing something of the likes, however, it seemed these 2 were actually at it, all the signs pointed to it. For two criminals they were not at all masters of subtlety. Either that or Emily had had sex so many times with so many men she could practically sense that they just had, or Emily was letting her joke get the better of her.

Not long after Max brought attention to the newspaper in his hands. Emily skimmed over it briefly. She had to admit, she was surprised to be on a missing person’s report. Her eyes quickly found her name, No image available. Bastards. They probably didn’t appreciate her persistence for her mugshot’s obscene figure, or to remove the smirk on her face (handcuffs can’t solve everything sweetie). She could tell it was her parents that gave no comment, oh well. It was better her mother didn’t give a comment otherwise it would be You better not come back to this house Emily Florence or She’s better lost and saving me the grief. Her father was far too busy to care as usual, she gave a sigh sitting back in her seat and returning to her music.

Emily snickered at Spencer’s comment. ”We’re renegades, not just in Michaels’ eyes but in the law’s, the last thing they want to do is make us sound good,” she replies in a hushed whisper, ”Though if we’re going to do that pop group thing I bags being the one that fights and throws stuff at the paparazzi!” she jokes. Quickly Emily jumps up from her seat as Spencer does and slaps him just above his left ear before muttering ”Do you know anything about subtlety? No wonder you were caught,” allowing the gruff voice pouring through the speakers to cover her words and avoid anyone who weren’t within a close radius to hear her. She glared at him for a moment longer before stepping away so the rest of the group could walk through.

They hadn’t even left the state as of so far. Emily gave a sigh. She wasn’t at all optimistic about where they turned up, particularly if that article was all over Boston, it might have been a better idea to stay on the train until they left the state. Who put the Banging buddies in charge anyway? Well, she supposed, by following that probably showed she agreed. Either way, the coast scene was quite beautiful. Emily almost didn’t belong with her old short shorts fading in some spots and her wavy ginger hair a rat’s nest, parts being blown by the gentle breeze. The water was gentle, forming the slightest of waves. Between it’s beautiful blue and the sandy shore it looked like something that belonged in a pamphlet.

As Spencer found the group a place to stay Emily tugged the oh-so-precious pamphlet from Max’s hand turning it in her own, treating it with much less care than Max had but care enough for it to not crumple or tear. ”I never liked spa resorts anyway, broke into a room once or twice, full of snobs. A camping ground seems perfect,” she says in a lame attempt to keep the group’s spirits up, and any rate she was agreeing with the pair of boys without making so harassing or suggestive comment, what could she say? She felt kind at that moment

'you used to get it in your fishnets,

now you only get it in your nightdress,

discarded all the naughty nights for niceness,

landed in a very common crisis'

Katie was sitting in a rather uncomfortable position at one of the window spots around the small, cramped table booth. She sat normally with her body up straight, but her neck was bent slightly so she could lean her head against the window of the train. Her head shook softly as the train went along, every now and then forcing a sigh out of her. An arctic monkeys song played into her white apple earphones at the highest volume, echoing out too the people around her as it played too her. Sometimes when it got good she was nod her head a little, but other than that you would think she was asleep. Her sunglasses helped with this, shielding her eyes from everybody as she watched the surroundings pass. She wasn't used too train journeys that were this long. Back at home, if she had been on a train for as long as this she could have been in another city, yet she still wasn't out of state. This country was too fucking big.

She barely noticed as Max and Spencer came back, sitting back at the table. She looked over just for a second, watching them as they sat down and Emily as she made a joke about where they had just been. Out of the corner of her eye she could see a sticker on the wall of the train which said 'no smoking'. It was taunting her. She had been dying for a cigarette since she got on the train, and every time she saw that sign it made her want one even more. She reached down her side, feeling around her pocket area too instinctively touch the box of cigarettes that she had. The shape of them was clearly visible through her skinny jeans. "Fuck sake". She said under her breath, to nobody in particular. She had considered multiple times on this journey just standing on her seat, opening the small window and trying to smoke out of there. It was almost worth the trouble of nearly getting caught.

She noticed somebody had just thrown a newspaper down on the table, and after a moment of considering, she reached out for it and grabbed it before somebody else could. She unfolded it, and saw the headline. 'Hunt for the 'Boston Renegades' continues' Boston renegades? Was that there name now? She looked too the text below it, a big box with just lots and lots of text. She let out yet another sigh, this was going too take some effort. She scanned over the words one by one, slowly piecing them together as she went. This would be so much easier if she wasn't bloody stupid. It took her quite a while, but she managed too get too her part of the Article.
"Nothing?" She whispered, seeing that her parents hadn't written anything. No pleas for help. No asking where she was. No concern. No care. She bit her lip softly as she let her eyes drift away from the newspaper. She was hurt, she wouldn't lie. Who wouldn't be hurt if they had parents that didn't care they had been missing for days, weeks? She threw the newspaper down as she decided too give them the benefit of the doubt.

The train stopped, and everybody was getting off. She waited until everybody was off, and shuffled along the seats until she hopped off the edge, walking slowly behind everybody else through the crowds until they got off the train. As soon as they did, she reached into her pockets and grabbed her cigarettes.
"I need a fag". She spoke in a strong English accent, a more common London one too be precise. Taking one out of the packet, she put it into her mouth and clasped her inverted lips around it. She didn't know if it was legal or not too smoke in a train station, but she was outside. Screw it, she had waited too long. While she listened too the others talking about campsites and spa's and everything else, she reached into her left pocket and pulled out her lighter. It was a simple $1 lighter she got from the last store they went in before they got on the train. She lifted it up too the end of the cigarette, cupped it and sparked the lighter. Once, twice. Three times lucky. The flame burnt the end, and she pulled on it too get it burning. The lighter went back in her pocket, and her hands rested at her sides for a second as she took a long pull of her cigarette. She reached back up, taking it in between two fingers and breathing it down again into her throat. The familiar feeling of the smoke clawing at her throat as she breathed it in felt like release too her, and she blew it out in a long straight line, closing her eyes as she smiled too herself.

"I don't mind a camping ground. Sounds like a good idea, actually".

LOCATION }} TRAIN → GLOUCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS
INTERACTING WITH }} HIS TECH

Playful blips and crackling explosions sounded in Jace’s earbuds as a tiny 8-bit-style pirate ship traversed the waves, firing pixels at opposing ships. His impossibly fast fingers hammered the digital d pad on the touch screen while his right thumb simultaneously rapid fired the ship’s cannons. A tiny jolly roger flapped above the boat in quick, unnatural jerks as the it darted to and fro in the overcrowded sea. Just as Jace was about to annihilate the last ship, the game glitched, and said opposing ship annihilated him instead.

Jace sighed and dropped the tablet down in his lap defeatedly. Powder Monkeys still needed a bit of work. The code was patchy at best, but the game wasn’t half bad for a seventeen year old kid who’d just read a couple of books and winged it. Of course, in Jace’s eyes it would be utter trash until he deemed it perfect, and he had yet to deem something that he created ‘perfect’. He flicked his blue eyes up from the tech, hoping to steal a brief glance at Max and his adorable mop of chestnut curls.

So much for that, Max was nowhere to be seen, and neither was Spencer. Of course... of course they were both gone. Jace felt the blood rush to his cheeks, equally embarrassed and irritated by his hopeless romanticism. He pulled the hood of his striped sweater over his head and slouched down in the seat. His cheeks puffed out in a silent huff. Jace considered pulling the strings of his hoodie to hide his face away like Kenny from South Park, but that probably wouldn’t be very inconspicuous.

Working through the botched stretch of code on his laptop passed the time and kept Jace’s racing mind busy until Max and Spencer eventually returned from their little rendezvous. Jace subconsciously found himself sitting up a little straighter when they did so. He even managed a semi-believable half smile as he looked over the top edge of his computer screen.

Max set a newspaper down on the table and Jace cautiously studied the headlines, his eyes only skimming at first. It was the photograph from his Facebook profile that really gave him pause. There he was, staring up at himself from the pages in black and white.

“Oh…” he remarked aloud as his overactive brain processed this new information. Jace then read the statements that his parents left and pursed his lips. He could practically taste the guilt seeping from their words, and that made him feel guilty. Jace looked away and scanned the faces of the others as a distraction. No one else seemed to be reacting much differently than he was. At least, it didn’t seem like they were, but Jace had always been pretty poor at reading social cues.

Spencer pointed out the ridiculous title the media had given their group and Jace nodded in agreement. Emily chimed in with her own thoughts. “Yeah, that would be you.” Jace responded with a chuckle as she mentioned throwing stuff at paparazzi. Spence brought up the fact that they were going to find a place to rest for the night and Max suggested camping. Jace’s stomach dropped when everyone else seemed to agree with that, and it wasn’t just because Max said it.

Camping would mean no wifi, and limited to no electricity. They would be completely off the grid and out of his comfort zone. Of course, for the sake of group moral, Jace said nothing and kept right on smiling. He could do that, yeah, especially because he kind of had to. Criminals couldn’t really pick and choose, and compromises would have to be made along the way. But who knows, with the shared brainpower of Sprocket and Chip, maybe the duo could rig up something useful, or at the very least entertaining, for a few nights.

And so, there they were: wanted and on the run, some of them with their faces plastered in the press. Jace looked back at the newspaper and scrunched up his nose, moving his lips back and forth in thought. “Maybe we should change our look, too.” he whispered a suggestion loud enough for them to hear. “You know... dye our hair, change our style, that kind of thing.” Jace glanced back at the photograph that was taken scarily recently. It was far too much like looking in a mirror. “It couldn’t hurt…” he tacked on for added emphasis.

Interacting with: FAMILY?

Out of the corner of her eye, the one that had three little blue crystal stars to the side of it, Addie saw two of the three boys vanish into a little room. They must've lost something or were looking for something to eat - there was always some crackers or some croutons in the pantry cupboard at home. Sometimes when she ate the little hexagonal crackers her mother got mad when it came time for clam chowder. But was it really Addie's fault that those salty little snackeroos were so perfectly munchable. Regardless of why the two had decided to go off together, it meant one simple thing: supervision was indisposed!

When they had gotten on the train, it was one of those two - Maximus? Spangler? - one of them had told the others assembled to stay in the general confines of the car they were in. The others seemed to understand it well enough, with the other boy currently bleeping and blooping ("Is he a robot?" was the first thought Addie had about him and his bleeping blooping device) and the other girls had things in their ears. ("But then how can they hear?") but it was to Addie that the explanation was given more than once. It would have been a bit demoralizing and rude - them treating her like a child who didn't understand basic concepts such as 'staying and not moving around' - except for the simple fact that with her supposed supervision experts all being indisposed with their own activities...Addie was not going to stick to the car she was in. As soon as the two dark haired boys vanished, Addie slumped to the floor, sliding off her train seat as if she had been a melting ice cream cone. Staying low to the ground, nearly putting her hands on the floor and walking on all fours, Addie hurried to the door to the other cars and slipped on through.

Most passengers barely noticed the odd looking girl with the crystal blue stars and the shiny platinum blonde hair that was frizzy and had splotches of red paint on them ("You have to paint your hair it's called a this-guys, duh" had been her reasoning before the others forced her to wash it out. With a hose.) which was ideal. Just another train in Boston. Anyone who did take notice of her probably just assumed she was currently on ecstasy or some other party drug with how wide eyed and grinning she was as she walked down the center aisle.

A gasp squeaked out of her lips and she practically leapt into the empty seat opposite a small boy sitting by himself. The kid couldn't have been more than five, maybe six, but he was frowning and alone, staring out the window. Addie sat opposite him and just stared at him, eyes wide and smile goofy, until he noticed her presence.

It took five minutes.

"Hi!" Addie spoke, her voice not nearly as high pitched as passers-by might have assumed; it was more of a voice like 'that band geek from that movie' as one of her brothers put it.

"Hi..." the kid replied, clearly nervous at this very strange stranger.

"Where's your mommmmmm?" Not exactly the best question to ask an unaccompanied minor, but Addie saw nothing wrong with it. It was a harmless question! Harmless!

"Over there..." the boy pointed ahead, behind Addie. The little kid's parents, or just his mother, was seated in a seat two seats down. Ideal parenting, what's the worst that could happen to a child on a train. Presently, the red headed mother was engrossed in work on her laptop - much more important than keeping a watchful eye like an adult.

"What's your nameeeeeee?" Addie had this bad habit of asking questions by really stretching out the final syllable in the final word. Just another in a lengthy list of features that came standard with Addie's operating system.

"Brian." The kid was clearly annoyed, though more at his isolation than the potentially annoying blonde girl interrogating him.

"Well my name's Addie," Good thing the others weren't in ear shot or else they might have had a bit of a fit for that, "You wanna play a game, Briannnnnnnnn?" Addie was nodding her head quickly, eagerly, egging him on to answer in the affirmative.

"No..." Brian's answer caused Addie to frown, pouting her lips like a child denied a candy bar at the supermarket checkout line.

"But it'll be fun! If you win I'll give you some candy!" Addie always had candy on hand, though it was not the type of candy anyone should eat as it was either stale or melted or else gotten off the floor and re-wrapped. Five second rule, right?

"What kind of game?" The promise of potential sweets was turning Brian around to the idea. As candy did to most kids.

"The game is...called..." Addie put both of her hands in front of her face, "MAKEAFUNNYFACEANDMAKEYOULAUGH!" As she spoke, loudly, rapidly, she dropped her hands and opened her lips on the side, dangling her tongue in an effort to make a random, hopefully funny looking face. All it managed was Brian kinda-sorta laughing, though it could've easily been a cough. Addie then had to take a moment to explain the rather simple rules of the entirely made up game. It took a small amount of convincing, namely showing that she did, in fact, have candy in the little pouch on her belt, but Brian was playing along with hopes of a gumball in his future.

The game continued, with Brian getting candy every time he made Addie laugh - which was every time until the PA announced the next stop was Glauchester and Brian's mother came along and whisked him away, admonishing him (and Addie) for talking to strangers. Before Brian and his mother left to wait for the exit to open, however, Addie asked to borrow the mother's phone - an emergency, urgent at that. Upon getting the phone - after practically getting on her knees and begging like a peasant, Addie flicked over to the camera and, grabbing Brian by the shoulder, hugged him close in order to take a quick, sudden selfie.

"THAT was your emergency?" the mother asked, snatching her phone back with a disgusted expression on her lips.

"Yeah, a friend emergency, duh." Addie didn't see the problem in using someone else's phone to take a selfie - the concept of it not being saved to her own device didn't seem to cross her mind. All phones were connected, that's how calls worked, duh. When the train rolled to a stop, Addie shuffled off right behind Brian and his mother, and the blonde tinkerer even followed along after the duo nonchalantly as if she was part of Brian's family all of a sudden.

"So where're we goingggg?" Addie seemed to genuinely think she was going with Brian, blinking in confusion when the mother threatened to call the police all of a sudden, scampering away from the girl who could only blink and watch in silence. "BYE BRIAN, ENJOY THE CANDY!" Addie stood on the sidewalk, waving to the family she didn't have as if she were a relative waving them farewell after a visit.

Turning around to get back on the train - just as it rolled away - Addie had to do a double take to make sure that the five others she had boarded with were there - and they were, huddled around some sort of pamphlet or something. They were going to leave her behind! How rude! It's like they didn't even notice she was gone, and she was going to treat it that way, tip toeing back towards the group like a sneaky ninja.

"WHERE'RE WE GOING NOWWWWWWW? BOOOOOO!" Addie announced her arrival by jumping towards the group, in an attempt to both surprise and scare them, cackling as she did so, as one does.

MAXIMILLIAN ❝MOON❞ REED

LOCATION }} WEST GLOUCESTER TRAIN STATION » EN ROUTE TO LITTLE RIVER CAMPGROUND
INTERACTING WITH }} THE BOSTON RENEGADES

Emily could be even snarkier than Spencer sometimes. Annoyed, Max returned her mischievous look with an obviously aggravated eyeroll. Her comments about a pop group brought an excruciatingly clear image to his head: Emily could be a drummer with all her pent up energy, or, for better mobility, the guitarist that scrambled around onstage revving up the crowd and making bodyguards' jobs even harder when she leapt into the crowd. Not that he was contemplating becoming an actual musical group, but it was just entertaining to think that most of the kids here were likely made for the spotlight. Sucks that they skipped out on any potential opportunity in favour of a life of crime. Spencer, particularly, could sing. Hell, he could do anything musically. Anyway. No point entertaining such useless thoughts.

His eyebrows raised at her mini-assault of Spencer, but he didn't try to mediate. Jabs between those two never turned into personal attacks, thank god - couldn't have the two most feisty at each other's necks. When they were off the train, Kat was quick to retrieve a cigarette (Max made a mental note to inform her of American lingo that very much differed from her London slang), and he didn't blame her. It never seemed like Kat had a shitty family or any torrential home life, but the fact that there was no comment in the newspaper from those people... it could be insulting to anyone, especially so if their relationship with their parents was all right. He breathed in the smoke, pulling the group tighter around her lest they get yelled at by some conservative opposed to teen smoking.

Feeling practically blessed by Emily's avoidance of making some rough comment about their choice of stay, Max just nodded at her. Not surprising that she broke into some 1%er hellhole. More surprising than that was Jace actually speaking, in a few more words than one - which usually was his record unless you got him onto a particularly uninteresting subject. Max turned half-towards him, following his gaze to the newspaper in hand. The suggestion was a good one, really, but he couldn't help the amusing mental image that arose. Jace with bleach-blonde hair, Emily a brunette instead of her signature red? He gave Jace a funny look, trying to shut his own imagination up, and nodded slowly in an attempt to maintain composure. "That's actually a good plan, if you're all game," he agreed, keeping his voice low. "I'm sure there'll be a convenience store along -"

"WHERE'RE WE GOING NOWWWWWWW? BOOOOOO!"

Jesus. And Em thought Spencer was bad at subtlety. To be fair, Addie was pretty quiet in approaching them, and thus Max had no idea she was approaching - or even that she wasn't here the entire time. He stumbled away a little, running a hand over his face like he was wiping away all his irritation. In response to her very loud question, he gestured vaguely towards the pamphlet still in Emily's hand. "Just thinking about staying at a campground for a while, Sprock, that okay with you?" It wasn't a genuine question, judging by his condescending tone. He didn't bother asking where she'd even been, considering the myriad of worlds Addie could've easily lost herself in. He was just glad her picture wasn't in the newspaper - then they'd be in real danger of recognition.

Speaking of... he brought the newspaper back up, making sure to keep it invisible to outsiders' eyes. He moved towards the end of the station, manoeuvring around the short building and towards the nearest navigation signs. They were on the right track north, so far - the info on the pamphlet told them it was five minutes by car, so surely it couldn't be much more than fifteen by foot. The newspaper had a fairly recent image by the looks of it, but still one where he didn't look too hot. "Was I drunk?" he wondered out loud, shaking his head disbelievingly. The lack of comment from his family wasn't as surprising. His father wasn't so easy to communicate with, and they likely couldn't track down his mother. As for Spencer, he had a good picture and a statement. Lucky fucker.

Jace, though, looked plain goofy with his thumbnail of a picture. "What's this, Chip? Myspace pic?" Hey, at least he didn't make a Grindr joke. Even if Katie had a picture up, he wouldn't be too concerned; she could easily change her look and blend in more than any of them, despite the fact that she had very distinct facial features. As for Emily... that was a damn shocker. She must have fifty mugshots floating around, or so Max assumed; maybe they were just too inappropriate for a family newspaper. Addie, he wasn't so sure about. She'd probably had hers taken before, but that girl was a gigantic question mark. In any case, all of their descriptions were far too vague to nail them entirely. There wasn't even a 'last seen wearing' section, amateurs.

Even more than social media or outsiders in general, they were worried about Michaels. Max's mind went through a roladex of his people, wondering who they could run into, who they should be wary of, and landed on one in particular. "Spence, Michaels doesn't do the dirty work. He's gotta have the blue-eyed kid after us, right?" Hunter-something. Max didn't care enough to remember. He turned more towards the rest of the group. "When we get there, we need to think of a plan of action for if we do get caught out." He narrowed his eyes cynically. "Emphasis on if."

Jace talking was a bit of a surprise, he really spoke in English and usually in the language Emily, who had decided at this point she was the mistress of nicknames, dubbed ‘Geekish’. Either way, she appreciated the agreement, making it obvious by the smirk on her face. The next time Jace opened his mouth however, Emily was not so impressed. Her hand flung to her ginger locks, what other colour would represent her fiery attitude but red? And it was natural too, well, despite the streak she occasionally dyed in the bottom half of her hair. Either way, the ginger was natural and she liked it. “No,” she states simply. True, it was a good plan but, whether it’d be in the name of vanity or something else Emily didn’t know but she knew she wasn’t getting into this, not easily at least.

Before Emily could go on Addie cheered from nowhere, causing Emily to jump. ”Holy crap!” she exclaims in shock turning to Sprocket. If she had enough mugshot floating around the girl will be the reason they were caught.”What is wrong with you?!” She glared at the girl hard and long before Max butt in telling her about the camp.

Emily looked among her ragtag team of misfits. Over their time together they had come to be like her family. She loved them all like brothers and sisters, or how she imagined one would, she never had sibling so she couldn’t compare to be sure. Not that she’d ever admit this of course, not without a snide remark at least.

First her eyes rested upon M’Spencer aka ‘The Banging Buddies’. First her eys hit Max who could almost be as snarky as Emily sometimes, note the almost (by this stage Emily had decided she was also queen of snark). It was disappointing he rarely gave her snark, they’d have the best fights. At any rate, he was fun to mess with. Almost as much so as Spencer, his banging buddy. Now he was really fun to mess with. He got so defensive so easily, it was great. His comebacks were amusingly terrible. It seemed most people didn’t seem to rile him up so easily so why did she? Either way, being that person was fun for her.

Next she turned to Geek guy Jace. Gay also, did Michaels only hire gay guys? Either way Emily didn’t think she’d sleep with these guys anyway. Jace seemed to be talking a different language a lot of the time, that language being geek, Emily would be the first to tell him to speak English. That was only, of course, when he did talk, which was nowhere near as often as her. Kat was next, probably the one Em showed the most liking to, not to say Kat avoided her snark, like Em’s gonna let that happen, but she definitely received less. The Brit got on her nerves the least.

Last was Addie, if the group were caught Emily bet Addie would be the reason in her eccentric ways Em found obnoxious. The thing is Emily hates children and she found the almost-woman’s ways, well, childish. How she was so intelligent in other ways Emily didn’t know, she was almost waiting for Addie to one day burst into laughter and admit she’d been messing with the group the whole time, but who was to know? She just hoped mugshots of the girl weren’t plentiful.

It wasn't until she overheard Max’s mutterings she remembered Hunter. She always got bad vibes from that guy, he was sneaky. At one point he attempted to get as much information out of Bitch as possible, he didn’t get far but, whether it was him or paranoia, Emily swears her stuff was out of place later that day. She rubbed her sweaty palms on her tiny shorts before adding, ”Hopefully we won’t get caught in the first place but with you lot I doubt that’s gonna be easy,” She says simply glaring between, particularly, Rocket and Spencer. The group’s loudest and least subtle. Do you two even know the definition of quiet and subtle?

The important thing was that people had been scared. Well, two people that she could tell. Moonman tried to play it off all cool like, that's what he did of course, but Addie knew it in her deepest of hearts that he had been absolutely petrified. That was a great success as far as she was concerned; if someone could make the Moonman flinch...chances are it would have been Sunny Boy but Addie was glad to know she could at least get a response from the guy. And he didn't yell at her because of it, which only really served to give Addie more reasons to try and scare him. It was like a fun little game only Addie was the only one playing. The best thing about that? She always won.

A campground? Addie didn't know regular ground from campground and really, really wanted to ask for the distinction. Perhaps campground was softer or had less grass or maybe campground had like natural pillows made out of soft dirt. The possibilities were running through her mind, and she was running right there with them - mentally - doing gymnastics as she tried to imagine campground in the literal sense of the word.

Addie would have remained focused on campgrounds were it not for a louder question shooting from the lips of Em-Em. Of course, Em-Em had a different nickname but Addie out and out refused to say it. It was a swear word and swear words were bad, plus Em-Em wasn't one of those, she was sometimes a bit mean but she was a good person. They were all good people, it's why they were together! Addie turned her head and stared rather blankly at Emily, blinking with her mouth hung open. What a question! What a hard question! No one had ever asked her something like that before. What is wrong with you?

Of course, Addie didn't know the concept of a rhetorical question nor did she even know what rhetorical meant. So rather than ignore it or make a joke like a normal person would, Addie merely widened her child-like smile and responded in the only way she knew how. The literal sense.

"Oh wow that's a really hard question, Em-Em but I think I have an answer for you and it's probably my family not you guys who are my new bestest family but my mommy and daddy and Ty-Ty and Pee and Pee who are my brothers who I think mommy and daddy love more because one Christmas Ty-Ty wanted an Eggsbox which I thought was funny because what can you do with a box of eggs except break them and get all messy but I wanted a new soldering iron because I broke my old one after burning my hands like all the time and I thought Santa would give me one because I am the goodest girl so be good for goodness sake but when Christmas came all I got was clothes that didn't even fit me and Ty-Ty got this weird black box that he said was an Eggsbox but it didn't even have any eggs in it and I would know because I checked it by breaking it open and Ty-Ty got really mad at me and my parents hit me kinda hard but that was last year so that's probably not what's really wrong with me I don't really know but my dad always looked tired when I wanted to play but he would always have time for Ty-Ty and the twinsies and the maid who always cleaned his room for like two hours while he was in there too I guess it's a big room and needs two people and when I saw them cleaning the bed once my dad told me not to tell my mom but I told her anyway and she got mad at me and I don't know why but that year on my birthday when all I wanted was some green boards and wires they gave me a book with a cat and a hat on it but the words were too hard so I just drew over the drawings and then my dad got mad again and I never got another birthday present that was on my ten third birthday and I'm ten seven now but when I was just six I wanted a hot glue gun because I needed it and instead they gave me a book about green food and what am I going to do with that so I glued all the pages together and that made my mom mad and my dad used his waist cord on me but I didn't cry because I was six and I was a big girl then but I don't 'member if Ty-Ty or the PeePees ever got hit they always got more food at dinner too and always Santa got them what they asked for and I never did and I just really really wanted a toy pony for years but never got it I guess I just have to keep being a good girl for Santa because this year I really really want a toy pony and I've been really really good this year even though my mommy said she hated me after she visited me in my new cell room where I met you all I know she was just joking because I'm her daughter and I know she loves me."

Addie spoke without pause until she reached the end of her rapid rambling. Without missing a beat, she turned back towards Moonman, still smiling despite recounting a small slice of years of neglect and discipline, and asked what had been on her mind all along. "What's a campgroundddddd? Is it like regular ground but differenttttt?"

The world was such an interesting place, especially when viewed through the eyes of Addie.

"Maybe I don't act the way I used to,
cause I don't feel the same about you,
in fact that's a lie,
I want you"

Zoey sighed to herself as to not show her annoyance when Max pulled them altogether in a circle. She guessed it was because of her smoking, he usually took charge and she knew it drew unnecessary attention, especially when it seemed nobody else in the whole station was smoking. She didn't care. Times like these were when personal risks could be taken, at least to her. She took another long drag of her cigarette before blowing it out in a long straight line in front of her. She took another almost straight away, but let her arm rest at her side afterwards instead of going back to it. The grey cloud started to spread and rise around the teenagers but she didn't take much notice. Zoey looked around the group in a circle, smiling gently to herself as she did. The situation may not have been the best, but at the moment she felt quite relaxed and happy. She was with good friends, people she had come to recognise as a family, a very dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. She was out, exploring, adventuring. Well, not quite, but she tried to put a positive spin on it. She had always wanted to be out of her shithole back in London and while she did occasionally get homesick she was enjoying the freedoms she had in a place that was much more sunny and beautiful. And best of all, she had everything she needed for a good night; Weed and cigarettes.

She looked around the circle of teenagers as she thought about each of them. First her eyes drifted over Emily. Her nickname suited her well, Bitch, and that wasn't an insult to her. She was funny, and Zoey could easily get along with her as she enjoyed the crude jokes and fucking about nearly as much as Emily herself. Looking across next was Jace, the nerdy computer guy. But he was adorable, and Zoey knew that she couldn't really disrespect somebody who held as much intelligence as him, which was more than she could ever hope to have. If she kept going around the circle she got to Max and Spencer. The most unsubtle but the most cute couple ever. She loved them, even if sometimes they did annoy her. She looked around again, before realising they were missing somebody. Where was Addie?

"WHERE'RE WE GOING NOWWWWWWW? BOOOOOO!"

Zoey almost jumped out of her skin. "For fuck sake, Addie!" She said to herself, backing away from the group for a second to regain herself. She opened her mouth to speak again, but Emily had said what she was going to, so she kept quiet. She really did wonder sometimes what was wrong with Addie. She took in a deep breath before lifting up the still burning cigarette and taking another pull, watching and listening as Addie went on... a rant? Telling a story? She was so confused. This girl could literally talk for the whole world. But without and kind of pauses or breath taking, and almost everything she said was nonsense. Still though. She was funny, and she was so naive to everything that she was sometimes nice to talk to, when Katie really did want to just laugh.

She walked over, taking another pull before putting her hand on Addies shoulder. "It's just regular ground, Addie, with grass and dirt and stuff. But you can put up tents on it and camp overnight and stuff". She said, smiling softly. "Nothing too special". She said.

"And I race through soundcheck,
just to meet you,
on your fag break,
and you convinced me to put life aside.
And want you".
