Multiverse Rising: Rebirth

°º¤øº°°°º¤øº¤øº°°°º¤øº°

Arcadia-1. Once an eerie view of a world abandoned, it soon became the center of conflict throughout the multiverse.
People thrown through the void, winding up stranded in the abandoned streets of a destroyed new york, huge armies and corporations, nations pouring through to exploit it, and it's treasures. Terminals, devices, disguised as anything, from a futuristic device, to something as simple as a toy train. Of these groups, these nations. Three in particular rose to prominence. The Imperium of man, The conquerors, and The Dark Outliners

Eventually, the fighting stopped, and an uneasy peace was brokered. Arcadia-1 was colonized, rebuilt. And each faction recieved a third. But now, something larger threatens them. New terminals have cropped up, bringing faces both new and old, and a larger enemy threatens to destroy not just Arcadia-1, but the multiverse as a whole. New opportunities arise, begging the question. Will this bring these multiverse travelers closer together? Or will someone take advantage of this new threat, to take control for themselves.

Hello there. This is an interest check for a sequel to the highly successful RP, multiverse rising. Some of you may remember it, and some of you may be new to the RP, coming in and looking for a nice, well thought out Multiverse RP. Well, here it is.

Character sheets will be up when the IC is made, but at the same time, you can find the template most likely used in the first Multiverse Rising, found here

roleplayerguild.com/topics/86989-multi..

Power levels will be around the same, with the more powerful on the spectrum being nerfed down to a maximum of planet wide at best. But yes, join in, bring a friend, bring two, and most importantly, bring the characters you like.

Factions

Multiverse Rising has three preestablished factions. Which, will be summarized below. Though they are there, feel free to make your own factions, or even disavow them entirely and go solo

-The imperium of man: The Imperium of Man hails from the Warhammer 40K universe. Originally a mostly lone faction, it's presence in Arcadia was demolished by The Conquerors early on. However, with help from new allies, including a group of 10 creatures known as Kolon, it was able to rebuild itself into a force capable of fighting the other two factions into a stalemate. However, it has a dark secret that the other factions hold over it. A rash decision on one of their members parts directly led to the deaths one million people. The other factions do not let them live this down easily.

-The Conquerors: The conquerors are a group of self proclaimed villains. Led by Unicron, they boast members such as Bowser, and Ultron. While able to demolish the Imperium of Man early on, they were quickly fought to a standstill due to outside pressure from the imperium of man, and inside pressure from an ally of the outliners, Conablum labs. Eventually, Conablum labs was able to defeat, and take over. But, their subsequent betrayal of The Outliners ensured that The Conquerors would be around for a long while.

-The Dark Outliners: More of a collective then anything, The Dark Outliners are the most mysterious organization. Represented by the Uber Ethereal, from the X-com universe. Only a very few know their actual leader. Originally an underdog faction, they managed to show themselves as a formidable force behind the shadows. They also have used the Imperiums killing of one million people to ensure Negotiations were finished in their favor, even though the incident in question happened in the home universe of Conablum Labs, the group that betrayed them.

The New Imperium

Leader

The Imperium is in technicality lead by Nova, the Star Child, the Reborn Emperor. However, Nova rarely leaves his chambers, as he is forced to face the Chaos Gods in constant mental combat. In practise they are lead by Kaldor Draigo, the Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights chapter, and one of the most powerful warriors in the imperium. The Grey Knights' authority over the troops of other chapters was one of Nova's final commands before retreating to the Golden Throne.

Troop Forces

Far from all of the Imperium's might has made it to Caldaria, but some of the Emperor's favoured have travelled through the warp in order to fight by his side once more. These are the soldiers under his command.

- Grey Knights
Perhaps the greatest warriors of the Imperium, the Grey Knights function as the Chamber Militant for the Ordo Malleus, and they are tasked with defeating the forces of chaos. On Arcadia, they are the Imperium's greatest and most high-ranking warriors. They are only deployed to face grave threats, or to defeat the forces of Chaos whenever they emerge. Merely 100 of their number have arrived on Arcadia, but those are 100 of the best the Chapter had to offer.

- Ordo Custodes
The personal guardians of the Emperor himself, the Custodes are the most powerful warriors in the Imperium. A Custodes is a custom-built superhuman, a process far more refined than the mass-engineered Astartes. But 12 of their number exist in Arcadia, but they are each terrifying warriors, able to level entire armies. During their time in the Imperial Palace, the Custodes refused to wield weapons or armour, containing a Chaos Rift spewing horrific abominations with nothing more than their bare hands. Now that Nova has told them to stop being idiots and use their fancy combat gear, they are truly a force to be reckoned with.

- Dark Angels
The first chapter to have been created by the Emperor, the Dark Angels serve him loyally. They were split during the Horus Heresy, and many of their number fell to the influence of Chaos. This has made them secretive and dedicated to redeeming themselves, hunting down those individuals that betrayed the God Emperor. In Arcadia they arrived at a time of need, their great battleships hovering over the battlefield and annihilating the enemy. Now they are mainly in charge of the air defences of the New Imperium. While they have but few ships, each is like a fleet unto itself, and it is speculated they hold the combined firepower to cleanse the planet of all life if they wish to do so, and potentially even destroy the planet itself. They number 400.

- Salamanders
The sons of Vulkan are perhaps the kindest, and strangest of the Astartes. They live on Nocturne, a planet that would be called unlivable by practically any other group. The entire planet is covered in lava-spewing volcanoes, and liquid water is practically nonexistent. The adapted space marines have jet black skin and red glowing eyes, as well as an immense resistance to heat, considering burning napalm and flame throwers no more of a threat than a warm wind. Contrary to their demonic appearance they are also the kindest of space marines, and they take great pains to minimize civilian casualties. They are also well known for their skill with technology, even standard tactical marines being accomplished smiths and engineers. Originally the most numerous of the Space Marines on Arcadia, two companies of the Salamanders were slain in the great battle with the Conquerors as they took the Imperial Palace. They number 300.

- Legion of the Damned
The souls of those who die in battle against the Emperor's foes serve even in death. These phantom warriors are born from the absolute loyalty of the Space Marines, as their will to fight is reborn in new bodies. They materialize where they are most needed, their bodies nearly indestructible and their conviction absolute. The Legion of the Damned is legendary, and one of the most terrifying weapons of the Imperium, as there is nothing but a momentary psionic ripple to prophecy their coming, and they appear to be able to manifest at any place on the planet, provided there are other Astartes there in need of assistance. Their numbers are indeterminable due to their nature, but it is believed that no more than 100 can manifest at a time.

- Black Dragons
The mutated successors of Vulkan, the Black Dragons possess long bone spikes on their body. Like all Space Marine bones these are harder than steel, and warriors of the Black Dragons often encase them in Adamantium to turn them into lethal blades. The chapter specializes in it's jump pack tactics, moving rapidly into melee and annihilating vulnerable locations. They are used in strike teams, moving in and annihilating an important target such as a leader, engines of war, or important fortifications, and then moving away before enemy troops are able to rally against them. Their use has declined since the end of the Multiverse War, but they remain an everpresent threat, a looming sword aimed at all who would oppose the Imperium. They number 150.

Strategic Advantages

- The Kolon Project
Early on during his days on Arcadia, Nova managed to befriend a group of beings collectively and individually referred to as 'kolon'. While these are merely clones, and the original escapes him, the clones proved to be of incredible use. These curious and amiable creatures are innately immensely talented with engineering and technology, and find great joy in putting things together. While their nature makes it impossible to employ them in mundane work, such as mass-produced weapons, Nova makes sure to psychically send them ideas and blueprints for exciting new conceptual devices. This allows the Imperium to construct incredibly complex and dangerous devices in very short periods of time, although there are often a few.... quirks. Such as it being pink, or shooting rainbows instead of plasma. Most within the Imperium believe that the Kolon Project is merely an acronym, or the name of a laboratory, and are unaware of the creatures' existence.

- Fortifications
As one of the first factions to truly dig in their heels in Arcadia, the New Imperium has some of the most impressive fortifications. Their realm is protected by great walls, turrets, and many outposts. To attempt to conquer the new Imperium one would have to march through tons of highly fortified locations, an uphill battle with seemingly endless enemies. Their vast artillery cannons also make settling anywhere near their borders a dangerous prospect.

- The Golden Throne
One of the most powerful psychic beings most would ever encounter, the Emperor of Mankind has the power to strip entire worlds of life with a single burst of psionic energy. Or at least he did, at his prime. The Golden Throne he now sits on vastly augments that power, allowing him to manipulate the fabric of reality itself. Most of his time is spent fighting the Chaos Gods with this immense power, but if the Imperium is ever in grave danger, he can perform acts of 'divine intervention', although such things are rare. Furthermore, the side effects of his battle with the Chaos Gods is a protective force that severely weakens psionic beings attempting to harm servants of the Imperium while on Imperium soil, as well as warding off demonic or chaos-aligned beings and weakening them. This great beacon can easily be sensed by any even remotely magical or psionic being on the planet, as well as being picked up by technology designed to study energy fluctuations, the fabric of space-time, or other such matters.

- Unity
Originally, the Golden Throne was created so the Emperor could carve passages through the Warp which could safely be used to transport ships and people without having to brave the wrath of Chaos. Effectively, he wished to emulate the Eldar Webway. While he was interrupted then, he succeeded in Arcadia, calling these passages Unity. Unity can be used to travel from any one location within the Imperium to any other, so long as one has access to a functioning terminal. Transportation is vastly faster than light making it effectively instant on a planetary scale. Terminals for Unity could hypothetically be used from anywhere, although few exits outside the Imperium. Beings directly opposed to the Imperium's wishes may find themselves ejected from Unity if they attempt to use it, leaving them stranded in the Warp. A quite dangerous prospect indeed.

Strategic Disadvantages

- Civilian Population
Most of those who were brought to Arcadia, or came there of their own volition, were powerful warriors. But some were mere mortals, and even many soldiers and fighters were unfit to face the impossible powerful threats of Arcadia. The New Imperium formed a safe haven for all who wished for sanctuary, and it's borders contain a large civilian population. While ethically the right thing to do, this puts them at a severe disadvantage, as they have far higher resource demands in the area of food and water and other such essentials, and need to protect this civilian population in the event of war.

Name/Title: Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders
Appearance:

Faction: New Imperium (leader)
Personality:
Vulkan is a kind soul, and wishes for peace in all things. He mourns the deaths of his brothers, and has grown silence over the years of solitude, but feel honourbound to serve his Emperor on Calradia as the last of the Loyalist Primarchs. While he is little for worship, he does not actively oppose it, and rather considers Nova his father.
Abilities:
- Primarch Physique
Born of the gene-seed of the Emperor, the Primarchs are unmatched in strength and speed. Vulkan is able to move beyond Mach 10, although he is not particularly fast for a Primarch. More impressive is his strength, which is surpassed only by Angron. He's able to lift thousands of tons, and can casually toss tanks across the battlefield. He is also incredibly durable, as his bones are able to resist immense pressure, and his flesh is bulletproof. Vulkan is especially resistant to heat.

- Gift of Immortality
As long as the Emperor lives, so does Vulkan. His body is truly immortal, and even if he were to be sundered into his component parts he would reassemble himself mere hours later. For over a year Conrad Kurze attempted to kill Vulkan, and failed. The legendary Primarch of fire can only be permanently killed in three ways. The first is to kill the Emperor, although most do not know this. The second is to destroy his Soul with an incredibly powerful weapon of the Warp, or another soul-destroying weapon. This was originally attempted with a Fulgrimbolt, a bolt of crystalized psionic energy from the Emperor himself. The third way is to somehow get Vulkan to give up, as he will only regenerate if he wishes to.

- Prodigy Smith
Vulkan is famous for crafting great weapons and pieces of armour. He is an engineer as well as a smith, and in his legacy all Salamanders strive to understand their weaponry and gear. He is an expert behind the forge, and the weapons he forges are often the stuff of legend, feared and revered across the universe.

Equipment:

- Dawnbringer
An immense weapon, this hammer is too heavy for even a Space Marine to wield. It weighs over 50 tons, and contains internal mechanisms that cause molecular disruption on contact. With Vulkan's immense strength and the weapons deadly power, this weapon is said to be able to break through any fortification. It is also constructed of materials so durable it is rumoured to be indestructible. The hammer contains a powerful teleportation device, which would allow Vulkan to even move from planet to planet.

- Heart of the Furnace
A powerful weapon designed by Ferrus Manus, Vulkan wields it to honour his brother. It's similar in design to a Plasma Pistol, but uses energy from supercharged cells to blast immense beams of plasma that streak over the battlefield, erasing all in their path. These beams have an immense range, even being able to blast ships out of the sky, and they have the strength to cut through tanks with ease. Even heavily protected targets are like butter before the knife for this devastating weapon.

- The Draken Scale
A powerful suit of Artificer Armour, this heavy suit is based on the standard Terminator Armour, but vastly improved. Triple-layer Ceramite and Adamantium frame make it nigh-indestructible, and a series of energy redirection fields make it nearly impervious to heat and energy attacks. Lasers and plasma blasts are dispersed before doing any real damage to the armour, and explosive force is practically useless. This suit also mounts two Flamers, promethium-powered heavy flamethrowers that can melt through steel in an instant.

Well that's certainly... extensive. Also, Monster Girl Quest? Ah well.

The character looks fairly powerful, but you haven't really detailed the strength of many of his abilities outside of vague terms such as 'very strong', which could refer to anything from cut-through-steel to slice-planet-in-half. While I'm fairly certain I have a decent idea of how powerful this guy is, I'd appreciate if you could give some more solid measurements of his strength.

Also, you don't need to actually list each of his individual sword techniques. Just for future reference. You could have merely written down that he had various powerful sword techniques that can be boosted with his elemental spirits, together with a more-less approximation of how powerful these techniques are. This helps skim down your CS a bit, and makes it more readable for others.

@Priscilla
This is the interest check, not the actual rp.

When creating an rp, people often create a thread like this to find people who'd be interested in joining. Only later, once a certain amount of people have expressed interest, is the actual roleplay thread created. Once the roleplay thread is created, it's normal to post your character sheet there.

The characters and factions you see up there are mostly from people who played in the previous incarnation of Multiverse Rising (where all the stuff you read in the opening post actually happened) comparing potential character changes and stuff. Me and Savato wanted to write up more detailed stats for our two factions (Imperium and Outliners).

If you want to introduce a new faction, however, I would advise you at least write up the basic concept here. That way someone can tell you whether it's allowed or not. Take into account that your new faction will be newly arriving on Arcadia, where many of these other factions have been warring for a while now.
