Personality
Addison is a strong minded, rational individual who can stay fairly calm under intense pressure. She isn't someone to lose herself to emotion, but that doesn't mean she has any problem expressing it. In fact, she can be very loud mouth about her opinion, often times taking the stance of "Your an idiot and hear's why" in any argument or disagreement. This has led to people either loving her or hating her. Some may say she's a bit arrogant, but it couldn't be further from the truth. In actuality, Addison is very self critical and is constantly questioning her own purpose and motives. Deeper down, someone might even find a girl who has no real idea of who she is or who she wants to be, just confusion and paralyzing fear that one day she might have to face her friends without having any answers.
Background
Addison worked as a combat medic for the United States Air Force for most of her life. She originally joined to eventually become a pilot, but her dreams of flying were shattered when a training accident significantly messed up her back. During her recovery, she pulled herself out of a depression of losing any chance to fly after being inspired by those who had saved her from a life of wheelchairs and crutches. She joined the combat medics and became part of an Army unit tasked with evacuating wounded from the battlefield.
Throughout plenty of deployments, Addison saved lives the best she could, and saw plenty die in her very hands. This seem to never deterred her from her duties, but nobody could get through this job with their minds completely intact. Everyone has a breaking point, and Addison's was on one particular mission. An Afghan village had just been attacked by Taliban forces out of retaliation for aiding US forces in the area. Addison's squad was sent into the mountains via helicopter to evac wounded civilians who were caught in the crossfire. Upon landing and rushing to the scene, Addison found the very hastily made aid station where they were being treated.
Of course, among the several civilians wounded, one was a young boy, no older than seven years old. Addison worked as hard she could to save the lives of the child, to keep the little kid breathing as they flew him back. However, there was truly nothing she could do. He had taken a round to a major artery and was bleeding uncontrollably. By the time the helicopter had reached the base, the kid was dead. Yet Addison refused to stop. She kept trying to operate the on the boy, continually attempting to revive the child over and over again. Eventually her squad leader had to pull Addison off the kid so that the soldiers could get the corpse off the helicopter.
Addison was given three months leave and was returned to the States.
