Day 17 - A song that annoys you

God the fact that I even had to find the video for this fucking song... God I am sorry for even posting it ><!!!

Day 18 - A song you have as your ringtone/want to be your ringtone

Well I normally only use the default tones and such but if I were to have one, it would be this - if I used ring tones and kept my ex's phone numbers :P

Day 19 - A song you’re currently obsessed with

I loved this song when she sang it on Rock Star Supernova, got back into it recently

Day 20 - A song from a new album you are waiting for to come out

Amaranthe has a new album coming out but they have yet to release a single for it, so I will just post the song that got me hooked on the band in the first place.

Day 21 - A song you want to dance to at your wedding

Yeah, I did the marriage thing, done it more than once. This was the song that I danced to at my first. (Not doing it again, lol)

Day 22 - a song that would be the theme song to a TV show about my life

After all that we've been through
Will this light lead me to you
I can't stay here one more day
I swear to you I'm not afraid
Through the wind chimes, through the bells
I would carry you through hell

Keep your friends close...no, actually, keep them closer. As close as you can.

I'm not a social butterfly. I have few friends, but those few I care very deeply about. For those few I am always capable to be as great of a person as I can possibly be and do everything in my power to make sure they are happy and fulfilled. I aim to be there for them when they're down and out, to carry them through the pain and cherish with them in their hard-fought victories. All because I know that they are all just like me. Human beings, craving for attention and care. And why would I keep these to myself when there's plenty to share? I give them out now and I know they will give them back when I most need them.

My life is about my friends as much as it is about me. Besides, what's fun in a TV show with a sole protagonist?

Day 20 - A song from a new album you are waiting for to come out

I've been a big fan of Mick's since I first sat down and listened to his 2013 album Tress & Truths all the way through. Ever since then, I've always been quick to listen to whatever he puts out. He never disappoints, and I know for a fact that the album coming out in a few weeks, The Heating Component, will be straight fire.

Day 21 - A song you want to dance to at your wedding

This will be my wedding song because I probably won't be getting married until I'm about fourty, and I'll more than likely end up being a cougar and snatching me a fine wine young boy to spoil me for the rest of my life.....

JK.

I've been in love with this song since it's first come out. I can literally picture me and my future husband/wife gettin' jiggy to this song.

Day 22 // A song that would be the theme song to a TV show about your life.

I've always felt an intense connection to this song and that may or may not be a result of my teen edge™. It may also be something entirely different, but specifics, specifics. Honestly, I don't have a long winded explanation for this song choice like I usually do and the best explanation for this song choice is to quite literally spam the lyrics.

I need to be managed because I'm a mess. I'm stuck in a rut and I'm over getting older. I'm sick of watching all the minutes passing and going nowhere. I'm going crazy and I don't want to waste another minute here.

And most importantly, it's not my weekend, but it's definitely going to be my year.

Day 22 - The Theme Song to a TV Show About Your Life

She said at night in my dreams
You dance on a tightrope of weird
Oh but when I wake up
You're so normal that you just disappear

Thinking about it, a show about my life would be really boring and would probably get canceled real quick. That's brutal; I won't even get royalties in my own fantasy scenario.

...Actually, I wonder what genre my life would be. I hope it's like a light-hearted superhero show and I eventually get protagonist powers to save the world and my hypothetical show's profit margins. (Though considering the song, maybe I'm more suited to being a supervillain?)

Day 23 - a song that makes me angry

ENSLAVED MY SOUL
BUT I'LL NEVER SURRENDER

This is a positively enraging (I think this can be applied to most Combichrist songs, actually) song. Pumps me up with so much energy! It doesn't have much lyrics, but the kick-heavy beat is perfect for the purpose and the chorus is fucking great. Really makes you wanna yell it from on top of your lungs!

Not to mention the message overall is very valuable too: no matter what it takes, no matter how many times they knock you down, even if you have to SUFFER, even if you have to BURN, YOU NEVER SURRENDER!

Day 23 // A song that makes you angry.

Music doesn't and has never been capable of making me feel any sense of anger and the same is true for this song. The closest that this song gets is mild irritation and that's because of the lyrics, "How this could happen to me? I made my mistakes." and how I was spammed with them via screaming through Skype calls by people I wish I forgot existed.

Sigh.

This really isn't that bad of a song though, it's just the memories associated with it that are.

Day 24 - a cover song

Originally a Vocaloid song, or so I've heard. Doesn't matter much, as I can't imagine it being much better than this version. Lindsey, as usual, nails it. She has incredible skills with the violin and it looks like she has found a very lucrative niche by combining her craft with electronic music. And the results amaze me every single time!

Also, she reinforces the fact that the violin is the highest skill gap instrument ever. I mean, I've gone to a music school for years...hearing newbie violinists quickly goes from 'aww it's so cute, they're spreading their wings' to 'oh my gosh make it stooop'. No offence of course - it's one tough instrument!

Day 04 // A song that reminds you of something sad

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
Go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now

I don't really have a song that reminds me of something sad that happened, so I will add a song that makes me sad. I decided to go with Zach Sobiech's, Clouds. To me, this song is about moving on beyond life and accept death, even if it came too early. Plus, Sobiech's story is one of the saddest that I have ever heard. It doesn't make me cry, but I get sad when the song comes on. And I like the song as well.

Day 05 // A song that has a new meaning to you every time you hear it

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back when you call me
No need to say goodbye

Man, I like this song because I often come up with different meanings when the song ends. The first time that I listened to this song, I thought that it was talking about lovers. Then, I listened to it again. I got that a soldier that was leaving for war. And now, I got several meanings from lovers to a teenager moving over of their parent's house. I don't know if I have an official meaning, but I might someday.

Day 24 // A cover song.

Guess what this is a cover of. No, seriously. Guess.

On an actual serious note, I absolutely adore both this cover and Ashe in general. For the previously named reason, it seemed only fitting to choose this song for today's scenario. Originally, I had a Glee song picked out, but apparently that's one of their ONLY original songs. RIP me. I also considered going with two other songs that Ashe has covered that I adore: Sayoko and Six Trillion Years and Overnight Story.

I, however, decided to go with this one as I needed a little "pick me up" today and decide this seemed like the right cure.

Day 24 - Cover Song

Yeah I did Drake earlier so this violates my "one artist one day" policy, but it's a cover so it doesn't count.

Anyway, I like Arctic Monkeys' music a lot but I chose to use them for today because, of all the cover's I've listened to, their cover to Drake's Hold On, We're Going Home is one of the few that manages to retain the essence of what I liked in the original song while simultaneously putting their own unique touch to it - or maybe it's just because Alex Turner's vocal style is that distinct.

Day 25 - an acoustic song I love

I don't really listen to acoustic stuff, so I just randomly looked up covers for songs I had. Turns out this guy has done guitar versions for a bunch of popular dubstep tracks - and they all freakin' rock! Literally!

Day 25 // An acoustic song you love.

It doesn't actually matter to me how this song it played, because regardless of how it is played, it is still an incredible song and can probably be considered to be one of my favorite songs in general. This much can be indicated by the fact that I have this song "favorited" on Pandora whether it'd be the original version, the acoustic version, the live version and whatever versions out there that exist of this song. For the sake of this challenge, however, I'll go ahead and say that the acoustic version of this song is superior, even though I still believe that this song is superior regardless of how it is played.

Day 26 // A song by your favorite band.

Although Bastille is officially my favorite band, I've already used their music for three challenges already. For this reason, I'm going with a favorite band of mine from about two years ago: the enigma known as Junior Doctor.

Junior Doctor only released one album before breaking up and are virtually unknown because of this. This, however, was enough for me to declare them as one of my favorite bands of all time. Not only do I believe that their music incredible, but I also believe that they are incredible. I was Facebook friends with the lead singer's wife and she, along with the band itself, believed in "healing through music" and often put their revenue towards charities and donations. It was very bittersweet when they decided to break up because they did it for their families, but they managed to leave behind a legacy of healing and fluffy music in their wake.

Day 26 - a song by my favorite band

It was them or Knife Party. That's how good these guys are.

I frickin' love Pendulum. Drum and bass as a genre is already up in my alley, but they do it better than anyone else I've heard. Most of their songs are incredibly rhythmic and make me want to dance like hell, which is always a great thing. Yet still, they are very diverse! I could've linked the pumping and energetic Slam or Blood Sugar, the much more emotional Hold Your Colour or The Tempest, the crazy conspiracy-singing Granite, any of them would've been a worthy showcase of the band's talent and abilities.

Propane Nightmares is prooobably my favourite of it all. It also has a kickass remix you should definitely listen to. And of course, the one line I always have to sing and/or yell along:

BRING IT ON HOOOOME

Day 25 - An Acoustic Song I Like

Huh, I could've sworn I posted this yesterday, but whatever. Here we go again.

Although most of my favorite bands tend to have a decent selection of acoustic music, I've either used them or penciled them in for one of the days. Fortunately, from the very beginning this was gonna be my choice for the day so yay for me.

Now I had this whole long spiel about how I chose this song because I related - and still relate - to it and how it got me into following the band in the first place, but honestly I'm not willing to write that again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Day 26 - A Song by My Favorite Band

Favorite song off my favorite band's newest album. Now I would've chosen Full Circle since that's my favorite song as a whole, but anyone who's heard of Half Moon Run has probably heard that one before since that's easily their most popular track and it was used in a trailer for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

I actually got into this band by complete coincidence: I was listening to music on the internet and one of the songs off their Dark Eyes album came up as one of my suggested songs. But ever since then I've been following them. I guess I like them so much because, in the two albums they'd recorded, I've found a lot of songs I like the sound of, and a lot of songs I appreciate the meaning of.

As for why I like this song, that's a bit personal but people who know me enough could probably figure it out quickly enough.

Day 27 - a song I make fun of

It's not a bad song per se, I just find the lyrics/the way they're sung comical and irresistible enough to make me sing along in an absolutely overdone way every time. I mean, just listen to it!

HAAAAVE YOUUU EVEEER FEEELT ALOOOONE
DOOOO YOUUUU STIIIILL BELIEEEVE IN LOOVE

DO YOU LIKE DRUUUGS
DO YOU LIKE DRUUUUGS

Day 28 - a song that reminds me of my (would be) girlfriend

You make me feel invincible
Earthquake, powerful
Just like a tidal wave
You make me brave
You're my titanium
Fight song, raising up
Like a roar of victory in a stadium!

My friends make me feel incredible. She could make me feel invincible.

Day 28 // A song that reminds you of your boyfriend/girlfriend.

I don't actually have a boyfriend or girlfriend, but @Grey and I navigated this one. Assuming that I wasn't set up, then there should be a second part to this. We'll see. .

Anyway, I picked this one for a few reasons:

The first reason is that I had nothing better to pick.
The second reason is that Hedley is indeed Canadian (much like Grey).
The third reason is that the lyric "You have a lot of crazy" reminds me of Grey's incessant habit to allude to a tragic background story.

The fourth reason is self-explanatory.
This one is for you, Canadian.

Day 28 - Reminds Me of My Boyfriend/Girlfriend

I am single and not ready to mingle, but I have made this bed with @Cynder and now I will lay in it.

So here you go.

Yeah I know it's not super memey, particularly inspired, or really all that charged with epic romance (at least to me) but whatever. I'm not so overdramatic as to choose a super gushy and lovey song about how I couldn't live without her, since that would be a major discredit to our relationship. And I've done that in the past and it Did Not End Well.

Basically, I chose this one more because it kind of captures the essence sort of of how the relationship seems to me, and because it works on a few different levels if you turn your head to the side and close one eye. Some are a bit personal though, and she might be cross with me if I start talking about them so I'll shut up now. Overall I guess it just reminds me of the stuff I've gone through in the five years I've known her. And also something even she doesn't know, but we don't talk about that.

Plus I think this actually came out around the same time I met her, so how about that?

(That said, I was debating on choosing a different song - one that I know for a fact would fit her tastes better - but I feel that would've defeated the purpose if I'd halfheartedly chosen it for such a reason.)
