Everyone knows the 30-day song challenge by now, right? Well, in case you don't, allow me to explain.

The 30-Day Song Challenge has been done all over social media. Anywhere you can think of, it has been done at: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit - pretty much all social media. The entire challenge revolves around posting one song per-day for thirty days straight. It has to fit with the day specific's type of song. For example, the first day of the list below lists "A Song that Makes you Happy". So, of course, you will choose a song that makes you happy. Easy, right?

When going about posting your videos, please use the hiders for those who do not have fast internet connections and/or fast computers.

Also, when using hiders, put not only the day, its theme, but he name/artist of said song.

One more thing: Give a reason why you chose the song. It doesn't have to be ultra long, but a sentence or two just explaining why the song fits the day's specific theme. You can be detailed if you want; that is solely your choice.

I have a soft spot for TBS. It was a band I listened to in abundance during my high school days. This song in particular I sang a lot and even if at the time my attachment to this song was because of my angst (and lying ex), I just loved it. It's part of me now as it was then. I will smile and I will sing my heart out to it.

Day 01: A Song That Makes Me Happy

Abrasive by Ratatat

Ratatat has a lot of songs and I don't really care for the majority of them and honestly if you asked me straight up why this one, of all of them, makes me smile I don't think I have the best explanation. It's just...it's just one of those songs that I listen to and can't help but to crack a smile inbetween the bobs of my head. It's catchy without really being earwormy - probably because of the lack of lyrics - and it's a rather simple song. But the simplicity is what makes it so damn infectious and chill that I can't help but to smile whenever it comes up in rotation on any of my playlists. I can never just listen to it once.

I suspect future days will have more involved posts but honestly not a lot of songs make me happy because I am a miserable person so congrats Ratatat, I don't like most of your shit so this is high praise

'A Better Place, A Better Time' by Streetlight Manifesto

A song I always smile while listening to (even if it's a little bit morbid) because I can imagine a little chibi character (me!) going through all the motions. It was also something my boyfriend told me reminded him of me, and it's old but I haven't been able to stop smiling when I hear it since. :) The end especially fills me with hope and makes me grin really, really wide.

Vidro Muyou - Yanagi Nagi

I never thought I'd ever had the chance to somewhat inform someone how much this song jump start my sometimes dead-beating heart. Soft acoustics and serene keyboards coupled with Yanagi Nagi's perfect vocals that caresses your eardrums with gently blown kisses. Its also tied to a roleplay that I was involved in. A damn good one. A broken relationship between a warrior and a siren amongst a strange school... Every moment was savoured. The butterflies flutter in my stomach every time. Each thought momentarily reminisced the sweet romance between the warrior's desperation in his attempt to show how love feels to numb-heart and his never ending chase to win her affection.

Nine in the Afternoon<br>Panic! at the Disco

I mean, just listen to the song. Coming straight from the album Pretty. Odd. - Panic! at the Disco's highly Beatles-influenced era - this song is just as full of whimsy and good vibes as the next one on the album. With a light-hearted tune, catchy chorus, and fantastically ridiculous lyrics, I find it hard not to listen to Nine in the Afternoon at least once a day.

It is just one of those songs that no matter how down I get, I put it on and I feel better. It is a reminder that the past is the past and the future has yet to come. It allows me to refocus on today and keep moving forward. If I come back to things in my past, so be it but that doesn't mean I can't make progress in the meantime.

Ghost - American Authors

I honestly find it impossible to hear an American Authors song and not automatically feel a certain surge of happiness, but Ghost is a particularly powerful song for me. Not only does it has extremely encouraging lyrics, but they are also told in an extremely upbeat way. Additionally, this song also has positive associations to autumn and more particularly, a rather enjoyable Thanksgiving for me. Even stoic me cracks a slight smile whenever I hear this song.

Akala - Fire in the Booth 4

I've been a lover of Hip Hop and rap since my mum bought me The Eminem Show when I was six or seven and the above is the single greatest video/audio of live lyrical and flow ability I've ever witnessed. It is quite frankly fucking amazing and compared to 90% or more of other live/radio rap I've heard it's in its own league. Add to that the upbeat, braggadocio of the almost 10 freaking minutes of straight rap (from someone who actually deserves to be boastful) and this shit never fails to put me in a good mood. The poem/rap at the end about conflict throughout human history just puts the icing on an already astounding cake. *Cough* Hopefully this actually counts as a song.

Dirty Sexy Money - The Struts

Pretty much all of The Struts' songs make me happy, but this one especially sticks out to me. I could be in the shittiest mood, turn this song on, Luke asks "Are You Ready?", and then I sing-scream "SHE GOT MONEY!!" in response before peeling into laughter. I can't help myself, it's a happy song with a super catchy beat and fun lyrics/phrases (I now use 'shit hot' as a positive descriptor). The fact that I've seen it performed live with Luke in a bedazzly sequined hot-pink blouse and leather pants makes it all the more entertaining. 10/10

In A Dream by Rockell

This probably could dual role as a dancing song but when my mom use to play this or it came on the radio, I would get so in the moment. I mean my mind will never be completely cleared and hell this song use to give me hope in romance. Now it's just one of my grooves that I listen to when I'm cleaning or it helps me wake up (cause I like to dance for funsies). I think that's enough to say it clears my mind to a degree, yeah?

This is just one of those songs that whenever it comes on, no matter how cluttered my mind is, I just have to bob my head and sing along with. It has this zen like centering effect on me and just makes me smile. Even now, it is 6:30 A.M., I don't have enough coffee in me yet, kids are running out the door, work to do and so forth. Mind has been packed with what I need to do. I have a day of running here and there and dealing with Metro Atlanta Traffic in front of me and feel like I have an elephant standing on my chest but you know what? Listening to this song, I'm okay. Ready to go now.

Day 2 - a song that helps me clear my head

Mr FijiWiji - Evolution (feat. Laura Brehm)

A very-well done example of chillstep by Mr FijiWiji (what an awesome artist name that is). He does the whole ‘chopped up vocals’ style better than anyone else I've heard and Laura Brehm's heavenly voice is the perfect subject to this. It tells a lot to me, even though not a single ‘actual’ word is said. The drums and the other sounds together create a very dreamy atmosphere which really helps clear my head and refocus my thoughts.
