A New World, A New Evil

The Great Convergence brought forth ethereal energies from other realms to Miras. The skies would forever be lit with glowing ribbons of arcane light. The once bleak Feldorn Isle now witnessed a beautiful display of the new green sky each night which added to the islands beauty and mystery. Feldorne Castle, the home of the most secretive and currently most notorious organization in Miras, The Overseers of Serenity, now stands as one of the few remaining safe havens for the Overseers. After The Third Great War, the remains of The Nalrokar Empire declared war on The Order as revenge for The High Ocular's murder of their goddess, Shi'an. The Nalrokar Islands are no longer safe for Watchers and even the kingdom of Farendar has declared them outlaws. The peasantry calls for the Knights of The Dawn to hunt down the assassins but The Templars stand by their current quest to keep the peace and quell the current infestation of new monstrosities that flooded our world after The Great Convergence.

The new High Ocular, Krehtlin Vrakar, has given orders to all members of The Order to return to Feldorne Isle to await reassignment. The Overseers need to restore their place in the world, they need to continue their work to protect Miras, and that requires the work of skilled agents. Skilled agents such as Tyr who has now become a Reaver and is awaiting council with High Ocular Krehtlin.

As Tyr stood outside the doors to the High Ocular's Chamber, she couldn't help but wonder as to what she'd been summoned for. It was probably her reassignment to some place in Farendar's political elite, no doubt she was to influence the court to remove the outlawing of The Overseers. While it was an easy task, and she was glad there was no threat to the world to send her on missions like the ones five years ago, Tyr still wished for something with more thrill to it other than being a nobleman's handmaiden. Her thoughts were interrupted as the large doors of The Ocular's chamber slowly crept open, releasing a low roar as they revealed a young Renmer standing beside a glowing font of magic embued waters. The Ocular stared at Tyr with glowing orange eyes that neither threatened nor welcomed her. Slowly he raised his hand towards her and gestured for her to approach. "You summoned me, my lord", Tyr stated as she fell to one knee before her master. The Ocular displayed a look of indifference to her respectful stance. "Indeed. You are familiar with Lady Sunderland, Wardeness of Southern Farendar and High Lady Commander of The Knight of The Dawn Covenant?", The Ocular stared deeply into the font, his mind focusing on whatever the waters were showing him. "Yes, my lord, but I simply refer to her as Ev-", Tyr stopped herself when she noticed the growing look or annoyance on her lord's face.

"I have assigned a number of our agents to your charge. Take them with you to Dustorne, Lady Sunderland should have something for you there. From there you will head to Kings Gate. An agent will meet you at the old Templar fortress there. Your true task begins in Talmaria", The Ocular waved a hand over the font and in an instant the glowing waters faded into nothingness.

"My lord, may I ask as to our mission?"

"No you may not, dismissed", The Ocular's words fell harshly upon Tyr who retreated from the room. Just as she was about to leave, something stopped her, she had to know."My lord-", her words were cut off by a now clearly angered Ocular. "Yes, you wonder as to the state of your acquaintance Marcus Kiln. He serves as courier between myself and Lady Sunderland. Is that all Reaver? Because if so I suggest you head to the docks where your team awaits it's leader", that was all Tyr needed to make haste towards the ferry dock. This Isle seemed less and less like home with that one around.

Aenwyn was already awaiting at the docks. She began skipping stones, waiting for the others to arrive. Her ascension to a scholar was rather recent. She spent four years training to become one; all for the sake of accessing the hidden library. She remembered the day she stepped into its ancient hallways. It was a sight she could never forget. In addition to her duties in maintaining the library, she also greedily devoured its contents. In just 1 year, she had learned so much more about the continents and its inhabitants. However, magic was her passion and though there were tomes that dealt with it, many were things she had already known. The books she wanted her hands on were sealed away and its location was not disclosed to her which was understandable though irritating.

On the bright side of things, she was called out here to meet with other agents for a mission. A successful mission be the first step in solidfying her position and earning the trust of her superiors. She looked at the green skies above. Those glowing ribbons of arcane light was a phenomena rarely seen in this world before the war and many superstitious stories were attributed to their appearance. Yet now they appeared every night in this island. No doubt the new energies from the other world played a crucial part in this.

She could feel the subtle but significant changes in mana around her as the energies of her world intermingled with the new but she could not quite grasp it firmly in her palms. There was something perplexing about mana that she could not describe. For an experienced mage as herself, it only intensified her curiosity and desire to wield it.

As she grew bored with skipping stones, there was little else to do but to wait. She conjured an owl familiar to fly around the docks and see if there was anyone who was walking towards the direction of the rendezvous point.

"That owl won't see anyone." Karl walks down the docks and sits down. "I mean if they do it right, everyone should get here without setting anything off. Animals, traps, magic, everyone else should be able to get here silently." Karl leans back looking straight up at the sky. "And now to properly introduce myself, I am Karl Shadowthorn." After his brief introduction Karl, goes silent. He had no idea why he was chosen for this, he had an idea but it couldn't be because of that. He began to reminisce of his friends. There was Glodin, a great smith, warrior, and friend. Looking down at his metal arm, it was Glodin who forged it and placed runes upon it. The runes allowed the arm to act as if it were his original arm. Karl looked up and wondered how Glodin was doing.

In fact, he hadn't really had the time to see any of the other "Heroes of The Dawn". He knew that Sunderland was doing nobel, and leader work. He couldn't remember what had happened to Kaathe. Maybe he went to help his people rebuild, but more than likely Kaathe was being moody somewhere. And the dwarves, besides Glodin, Karl hadn't seen the others after his metal arm was forged.

"Is that so? This owl already sees you so you're wrong on that account," Aenwyn quips. "Regardless, I'd still get a spectacular view of the island." Aenwyn watches the owl take flight.

She turns around. "A wood elf? It's rather rare to meet another one of my kin. And one so young. Ah, forgive me I haven't introduced myself yet. I am Aenwyn Loradi. As you can see, I am mage. Your name is Karl Shadowthorn correct?

Karl's arm catches Aenwyn's eye. A prosthetic arm, suddenly Aenwyn's interest in this elf piqued. "What happened to your arm?"

"you'd think with the largest library in the known world you'd be able to find something on a sword like this"

"perhaps it not from the known world eh?"

"is that good or bad?"

"good, probably, what doesn't kill you and all that...anyways it's not worth fretting about while we've got a mission, there's certainly stranger things in the world than an exotic, demon-possessed sword. C'mon, lets get to the docks before we're late"

The two of them continued along the path to the docks for awhile in relative silence until they noticed an owl flying through the air that Rakuyo recognized as a conjured familiar. With a slight smile he conjured his own, a raven, and sent it up to fly with the owl, it playfully followed the owl through the air as the went the rest of the way to the docks to find two others already there. "That's your owl I take it?" he said walking up to the two of them and making a gesture at the sky with his thumb, he was just speaking to the two of them but he took a second look at the elven woman "aren't you a scholar? I think I may have seen you around the tower before" a second later his eyes widened as he realized the two of them were speaking "oh, I'm sorry, am I interrupting"

Aslatiel for his part just snickered and came up to stand beside his friend.

Aenwyn did not recognize the man. "Oh don't worry, you aren't interrupting anything too important. So you're a scholar too? We may have caught glimpses of each other but I am no good at recalling faces. I can't say I've seen you. And yes, I conjured that owl. I'm Aenwyn Loradi. You and you're friend are...?"

Kaathe "Crestfallen" Oolacile

It had been five years since the end of a Great War. Five years since the Dawn Covenant had prevailed against dark forces. Five years since the insufferable laughs of the dwarves, and off-putting confidence of everyone else had last been heard. Five years since "they" had gone missing. These years, used to describe the anniversary of a catastrophe being put to a stop, meant nothing to Kaathe. At least, the time meant nothing to him. It was the memories he kept for himself.

A former dark elf Templar of the Dawn Covenant, Kaathe Oolacile, was currently resting from an encounter with a monster. Underneath him was the corpse of a bunyip. The carcass looked like an abominable mixture of several animals, like a chimera if all its parts had attempted to merge into a single-headed, four-limbed creature. The body had several crossbow bolts sticking out of it, and what used to be called its lower half was shattered into chunks of frozen pieces.

On moments like these, the long moment that comes after killing a monster, Kaathe comes to think back on the memories of those he had left. He chuckled at the thought of what had happened to them since he saw them last. Perhaps they had gotten lost as well? Or maybe they wandered the land like he was. More than likely they were still fighting monsters and remnant cultists. Fate had a way to keep them busy.

The dark elf sighed as he brought himself out of the moment. There was nothing to be had just sitting around this time. He looked down at the Bunyip. He eyed its tusks. They were not quite rare, but they were uncommon ingredients for medicine and potions when crushed into a powder. All he'd need was blood and fresh water, and he'd have a salve that could heal up some of the more deeper wounds that he may receive in the future.

He took his dagger, and forced the maw open with his free hand. He plunged the blade into the monster's rancid gums, and broke a tusk off. He pulled the blade out, and repeated the action on the other tusk. Once they were both out, Kaathe scraped off the bloodied tissue, until the tainted flesh was nowhere to be found on the tusks. He placed his hard-earned loot into a small sack that hung at his side.

When all was said and done, Kaathe plucked whatever bolts he could retrieve off of the monster's carcass, and returned to his dinghy. It was time to wander once more. Perhaps he'd find himself in a port town this time. He didn't know, and he didn't care. Fate would decide his destination, just as it had decided a great many things in his life. He had little control over it, after all.

He pushed the boat out into the water, and after putting on his mask and cowl, proceeded to sit in silence as it drifted off...

Draco Kalsea || Walking towards the docks

Draco's eyes were fixated on the two conjured birds, they flew playfully with one another, probably looking for the other members. Draco stood out of sight of the others, standing far away yet still able to see them all. He drew his blade from his hip and raised it above his head, the arcane lights reflected beautifully across his blade, he slowly lowered it, pushing the dagger through his vision of the group, a sick smile grew across his face. Once his face returned to normal and his blade back to its holder, Draco closed his eyes and his breathing became slower but more steady. His mind flew away from his body, across the body of water and onto the dock, looking through the eyes of the female wood-elf, but he quickly returned to his body with a gasp of breath, "So they don't seem to know why the groups been summoned..."

Draco's feet were soft along the wood, his hands in his pockets and his cloak covered his face as he walked down the boardwalk, the voices of the conversation ahead reaching his ears. He stopped again, he looked up once again, the lights still an amazing sight to him, the birds still continued to play. Draco finally came beside the dark elf, he gave a slight cough to allow the group know he was here. He looked at everyone carefully, he had learnt many names and faces from joining The Overseers. He thought to himself, Rakuyo Hessarian, scholar. Aslatiel, watcher. Aenwyn Loradi, scholar. Karl Shadowthorn. Such a diverse group of people for this mission. He stood silent as to not interrupt the group talking.

Xamar || Heading towards the docks

Xamar was slow to the docks, slowly walking through Feldorne Isle he came across an old fighting dummy. He stopped and looked at the damages the dummy had received, his hand softly and slowly going over the ridges of swords leaving wounds, "If only the real enemies were as easy as you my friend." He stood up and again slowly headed towards the docks, his mind unclear of his summon to the mission, but knew better then to say no. The dock became clear to his eyes now, with the group standing at the end, the birds in the air. Xamar smiled at the sight of the birds, he knew they would eventually disappear into nothing but for this single moment, both birds were eternally happy. Xamar's feet finally hit the docks as he made his way to the others, a person in front of him was also just arriving, but he decided to not go all the way to the end to the group. He stopped halfway, turned out to the water and watched the birds, happy and content, Xamar watched and waited for their leader.

Karl stands, nodding to all the new comers. "I'll answer your question about my arm, after I answer your question about my eye. But for now we have new faces to greet." Karl walks over to Rakuyo and Aslatiel. "Hello my name is Karl Shadowthorn, I am a watcher, and a former member of The Dawn Covenant. In fact I am one of "The Heroes of the Dawn" some of you may know us. Any who don't well I'm not in the mood to explain." Karl turns and goes back to his original position, looking over at Aenwyn Karl nods. "Well to truly answer your question about my arm, I lost it while fighting against The Dead God. Same goes for my eye. After the war I went with my dwarven friends and got a new arm forged." Karl turns towards the open water going silent.

Valion

Approaching the docks

Valion was one of the last to arrive at the designated meeting spot. The docks were crowded with others he did not recognize and thus sumarily were ignored. His mission didn't involve getting to know them it involved meeting someone. Though the circumstances as to why remained a mystery. Even Marcus Kiln had not been informed as to what the mission was about when he had called on Valion. The only information given was it had been priority.
Rather than make nice with the others, the hooded monk chose to take his rest overlooking the rest of the gathered members of this odd forming party. Inside, he had a burning desire to continue his other work. His personal work. Ridding this world of the creatures that had slain his master.

"Well to truly answer your question about my arm, I lost it while fighting against The Dead God. Same goes for my eye. After the war I went with my dwarven friends and got a new arm forged." Karl turns towards the open water going silent.

The Heroes of the Dawn. Even though only five years has passed since the demise of the Dead God, their names inspired hope against an uncertain future. To think that she would stand among one! The only other names she knew of that belonged with this prestigious group was the leader of the Dawn, Evelyn, and her half-elf friend Tabetha Lockwell. There were others of course but their names eluded her at this moment in time.

"Ah it appears I've privy to some private matters. Perhaps I shouldn't have asked. It looks quite exquisite though. I'd want to learn how to make such a intricate design were it not for the fact I know nothing of metalworking. It seems to serve you quite well."

With Karl still looking silently at the water, Aenwyn turned around to continue her conversation with Alastiel and...what was his name? Raguya? Rajuya? As she began to talk, she suddenly tensed up.

Draco closed his eyes and his breathing became slower but more steady. His mind flew away from his body, across the body of water and onto the dock, looking through the eyes of the female wood-elf

Aenwyn immediately sensed the presence in her mind before it vanished almost just as quickly. "Ah! What in the world? Someone just entered my mind! As if they were looking through my eyes!" she said aloud.

Not soon after, three more men arrived. Each one of them was silent and made no attempts for chatter. With her guard up, Aenwyn maintained a distance from them.

"Trying to look through the eyes of another? Big mistake casting that magic on a mage," Aenwyn thought angrily.

She motioned at three newcomers with a small smile "Hail strangers! I presume you are here like the rest of us for an assignment?"

The halls of Feldorne Castle were filled with the sounds of its inhabitants. Prior to the end of the Convergence War, this castle was populated by small amount of Overseers mainly assigned to administrative duties. Now the massive citadel was packed with hundreds of agents, scholars, watchers, and a good number of reavers. Tyr strode through the halls with dejection in her eyes, her mind filled with images of the war and the things she did back then. "If the gods accept me then I wouldn't be surprised to find Sar'than waiting for me, she thought as she headed down towards the docks. As she entered the courtyard, some watchers noticed her and each gave disapproving looks as they whispered amongst each other. Tyr knew what they were saying and she didn't need to rely on The Turning to hear their words. "Look at her, the kin slayer, word is she killed a good number of watchers", a passing scholar whispered to his companion. "Traitor, I don't know why the Ocular allows her to live", said another, they all liked to gossip and spread rumor but it seemed these assassins were just as ignorant as the common peasant. None of them dared to investigate the incident further, none of them knew that she killed those rogue watchers who tried to usurp the hierarchy of The Order and framed her as a traitor. Even though the Ocular pardoned her, there were still those within The Order who still saw her as a traitor. As much as she hated the looks she received she knew in her heart she was right to do the things she did during the war. Now with a new world before them, The Overseers would need agents like her who would do anything to keep the peace.

Tyr arrived at the docks to find her team already assembled there. From afar she stood and observed them for a moment before taking a deep breath. "Greetings, Karl, its been quite some time since we last saw each other", was the first thing she said before walking to the end of the dock. Tyr looked out towards the sea hoping to catch a glimpse of their vessel, knowing full well that the summoned fog would make it impossible to do so. She wouldn't admit it but after the war, Tyr lost a little bit of her flirtatious and sarcastic attitude. The war took something from her, something she couldn't get back easily if at all. "I'm sure most of you have questions about this task we've been assigned. Truth is I have no idea other than we are headed to Dustorne and from there we enter Talmaria", Tyr didn't look back towards them, frankly she didn't care to get to know them right now as they'd have time for that on the voyage to Dustorne. For a moment it seemed as though she'd have no choice but to make small talk but out of the impenetrable fog came a large brig ship towards the docks. From the docks a Sireni woman could be seen standing beside the helmsman as the ship came about. Before long the boarding platform was lowered and the Sireni woman approached to greet them. "Good to see you again Tyr, how've you been?", the Sireni gave a short wave as Tyr walked up the boarding platform. Tyr couldn't help but feel a bit of sadness as she remembered who this task belonged to. "I'm well, Iri, I see your in your usual good spirits", Tyr replied as she stood beside her Sireni friend, waiting for the others to board.

"Your quarters have already been prepared for you and the war room as well should you lot need to go over any plans you might have"

"Once again you have my thanks. Any idea as to how long we'll be at sea?"

"The renmer have been sending a good number of raiding ships out recenty, I wouldn't be surprised if we run into one long the way. If I had to guess i'd say we'll be at sea for a good couple weeks"

"When things get tough for the Nalrokar you can bet they'll revert back to the second era"

"The what?", the Sireni asked in bewilderment of what her human friend meant.

"Sorry, forgot you just got here. Don't worry about it", Tyr was about to head to her quarters when she turned back to speak to her team. "Before I forget, everyone this is Irisara Silaen, captain of The Amaranthia. If any of you need anything just ask her"

The Amaranthia remained docked after the team boarded to resupply before sailing off that same night. For the next two weeks the crew of The Amaranthia and Tyr's team would have to get well acquainted.

Draco Kalsea || Boarding the Amaranthia

Draco watched as Tyr, his now leader spoke with Irisara Silaen. His emotions were oozing in his body, the image of sticking a knife in her throat almost made him smile. As they were boarding, Draco pulled Aenwyn aside once aboard the ship. "Hi, my name is Draco, Operative." He paused for a second, before speaking again, "Before I arrived I used my magic upon you, allowing me to see through your eyes. I apologise for this, but lately I've needed to be cautious because-" He cut himself off, as to not reveal why he's here, "Point is, I'm sorry for invading."

Xamar || Boarding the Amaranthia

Xamar was one of the first to board the ship, heading straight for the crows nest. He looked up towards the high post and spoke aloud, "If anyone needs me..." He jumped before he said anything further, flames engulfing his legs and propelling him to the top where he swiftly landed upon it, sitting on the edge and looking out to sea. He used the time to reflect...

Flashback...

The sword swung fast, cutting through the air, the swishing sound echoing through Xamars ear. The next swing closer to Xamar's head but he ducked fast, narrowly missing it, he followed it with a swift kick to the mans gut. "Stop it Jarg, you've gone too far!" The man named Jarg charged, his kick covered in lightning connected with Xamars chest, spiraling him through the air and into the wall behind him, creating a small crater. "Too far? Xamar, you fail to see that the way you live is flawed!" He dashed forward, his fist came rapidly and Xamar was ready. Xamar could read the movements slower then it appeared and just moved, the fist colliding with the wall behind him, decimating it on impact and kicking up the dist and sand around. Xamar jumped above the dust cloud but was quickly rejected out of the air by a quick jolt of lightning. Xamar fell to the ground hard, bouncing and flipping until finally stopping. His back to the sky, a sharp fatal pain shot through his spine as Jarg's knee landed hard into him. Jarg's head lowered towards Xamar's ear, and softly spoke, "Join me Xamar, together you know no one could stop us, the Dead God is the one true power in this world..."

Present...

Xamar rested his hand on his chest, his emotions began to swell and his anger rose, he could feel the soft burning of flames emitting from his fingertips, "Jarg..."

Karl just nodded when Tyr addressed him. He knew her from the war, she aided The Dawn Covenant with her specific set of skills.
He respected her, she followed her orders and her gut. She knew when to follow orders and when the orders given are just wrong. Then the ship appeared, the Sireni woman who hailed Tyr captivated Karl. Ever since the Sireni first appeared, Karl was infatuated with them, well their women mostly. Shaking his head Karl stepped onto the ship, looking around he watched as one of the group launched themselves up to the crows nest, Karl just gave a small smile and made his way to the far side of the ship. Leaning on the rails Karl stared out over the water into the fog. His mind going back to old memories of friends, after hearing the would pass through Dustorne he couldn't help but feel a bit of excitement. He had friends in Dustorne, other "Heroes of The Dawn" to be exact, and he couldn't wait to meet them. Still leaning on the ships rail, Karl turned his back to the open water and watched as the others boarded the ship.

Kaathe "Crestfallen" Oolacile

Renmer Ship

Kaathe sat in his 'prison' just as he had sat in his Dinghy. Apparently, Fate was to be cruel to him once more. He was found by a ship full of his own kind. They had pulled him from his vessel, and stripped him of all but his clothes. His weapons leaned against a wall, and his bags were being looked through. Kaathe found the fools funny. Years ago, something like this would have been punishable by better dark elves. Nowadays these type of things were common.

"How far has our people gone to go so far as to rob from their own?"

"You, who have abandoned your people out of selfishness, have no right to call yourself Renmer."

Kaathe looked to the one that responded to him. The dark elven pirate was rummaging through Kaathe's belongings. Coins, valuables, food, trinkets...The pirate was looking for anything that was of worth. Kaathe merely shook his head at the sight of him.

"It's not really anything personal. We need to bring as much as we can back. Our people are starving. They need this more than you."

What happened next shocked the dark elf. He was expecting Kaathe to at least show a bit of understanding. However, all he heard was a dry and tired chuckle.

"So they've fallen that far, hm? How weak have our people become that we cannot farm or hunt for our meals anymore? How foolish is our leader that our people must turn to piracy to survive?"

The raider gave no vocal response to Kaathe. Rather, he went back to searching through Kaathe's things with a look of anger on his face. Kaathe sighed at the fool's frustration. Ever since the end of the war, Kaathe had kept tabs on the state of his home. The Nalrokar Empire's current state was honestly quite angering. Kaathe hated thinking about his birthplace, as it gave rise to emotions that he had no use for anymore.

"How pitiful. My own people have become blind to the truth of things. Without Shi'an, they've become fools and savages. Instead of caring for what's left of Her home, you've left it to attain foreign foods and treasures. Instead of using what She had given to you, you choose to take from others. How ungrateful my people become towards Shi'an."

It was then that the dark elf pirate slammed his fist onto a wall, exclaiming,

"You have no right to speak in such a way!"

The dark elf faced Kaathe again with a look of fury.

"You were not there! While you were wandering the lands, we were there as Shi'an fell! The humans-"

"Have nothing to do with my words interrupted Kaathe. "You have done nothing but attack others in rage and despair. It's a shame, really. The people that belonged to Shi'an have forsaken her lands in order to 'avenge' her."

A silence passed between the two of them. The pirate went back to rummaging through Kaathe's belongings, and Kaathe continued to sit in silence. He had felt that this was a moment where fate would allow him to take the next move. So he sat his 'prison', and waited. He'd find a moment to leave soon enough...

The confession was rather abrupt and unexpected and it caught her off guard. Rather than relief, Aenwyn could only feel suspicion. Someone casting a vision spell to peer through the eyes of another was suspicious enough. But to actually confess it to the victim and let slip that they were cautious about something was very extremely out of the ordinary. Admittedly, she appreciated his honestly. Perhaps if the man worded his confession differently, Aenwyn could find it in her to somewhat forgive the transgression. But, this person definitely felt as if he had a hidden agenda.

Aenwyn cast a careful gaze upon Draco. The human was tall and lanky but his features were rather boyish and it appeared that he was around his early twenties. In other words, he looked normal enough for a human. However, anyone who was part of the Overeeers were anything but normal.

"It's not often I have my privacy invaded and then have the perpetrator immediately confess that they were sorry for doing so. I'll accept your apology this time. However, I must ask you this. Why apologize when you could have remained hidden? I find it incredibly hard to believe one can be so honest."

"My name is Rakuyo"

"I am Aslatiel"

Rakuyo bowed his head slightly and Aslatiel made a small gesture of greeting with his hand as the introduced themselves, looking to Karl as he did the same. Neither so much as flinched when he mentioned that he was a Hero of the Dawn, both knew what it meant, both didn't much care, that title was meaningless to them. They waited as Aenwyn finished speaking to Karl before turning back to them. Though, before she could say anything, she visibly tensed up, prompting Rakuyo to say "Are you alright?" they both stood ready to help her if she collapsed but she recovered a moment later saying someone had entered her mind, or attempted to. She was distracted again by some newcomers and Aslatiel looked at Rakuyo, who just shrugged.

It wasn't to much longer before both their leader and their ship appeared and they found out where they were going, Dustorne. With the others boarding the ship and finding their own place to be or person to talk to, Aslatiel and Rakuyo went toward the front of the ship and sat down on the deck, idly chatting as they waited for the ship to set off.

Two Weeks Later...

The sun rose over the sea to greet the crew of The Amaranthia with its warm rays. Tyr was already awake and was getting dressed in her cabin when suddenly the ship's crew went on full alert. The alarm bell was rung furiously as the crew readied themselves for whatever threat was approaching. Tyr quickly got her effects before rushing to the top deck just in time to hear one of the crewmen yell, "Renmer raiding vessel heading towards the port bow! She flies imperial colors!" Tyr looked for Irisara who was already standing by the helm, looking through her spyglass at the approaching enemy. "Iris, can we out run them?", Tyr asked as she darted up the steps to the helm deck. "Afraid not, we're taking headwinds right now. A fight is inevitable it seems", Tyr nodded in response and unsheathed her sword as she awaited the pirates' attack. "All hands to the top deck, to arms! Mages, prepare to fire volley on our portside! Archers to the mast platforms! All others just be ready for a fight, this isn't any renmer pirate, we'll be fighting imperial privateers!", Irisara barked orders up and down the ship before unsheathing her twin swords, their ringing sounding as serene as a siren's call.

Aboard the renmer ship, The Ketokar, its men were already armed and ready to board its newest prize. Captain Irisara was right to have caution as imperial privateers generally had better equipment with trained naval soldiers. The captain of The Ketokar was practically mimicking Irisara's actions as he too was watching through his spyglass. "It appears we've run into the Pirate Queen, herself. Sea elf bitch, I'll have those fangs of hers pulled out of her pretty mouth for what she did to us, what do you say to that lads?", the crew of The Ketokar roared in response, remembering how badly Irisara had damaged their ship in their last confrontartion. Now they had a chance to repay the favor as the ships were coming into range of one another. The mages of both ships were already firing at one another, stay bolts of lightning and fireballs flew into the hull of both ships and their crew. Finally the two ships sailed to each other's sides and arrows began to fly until both captains gave the order to charge.

Draco Kalsea || Aboard The Amaranthia

He watched as this elf spoke to him and he chose his words carefully. He grew a smile, it was soft, kind and warm."We're going to be on this ship for a while, in that time I believe many of us are going to learn quite a bit about eachother. So when you learn of my abilities, you would grow angry that I kept it from you, that I invaded your mind without so much as telling you. This way, I tell you now. It's better in the long run."

Two Weeks Later - The Attack

Draco was on deck when the chaos started. He watched as his leader rushed to the helm, barking orders towards the crew as everyone drew ready for the battle. Draco drew his blades and rushed to the side of the ship on which the attack would happen. As both ships drew neaer, the uproar from the attacking ship drew ever so loud. An arrow shot across towards him. Without so much as a blink, he swung his dagger in front of him, slicing the bolt away from his body. Then he stopped, his breathing slowed as he shot his mind across the ocean and into one of the enemy crew. It was fuzzy and blurry, his mind wasn't settled but he got what he was after. Once his mind returned, he turned to the helm and rushed off, another bolt flying towards him but was stopped by a body of another crewmen. The blood shot across Draco's face and in that second, he was happy. He reached his leader and the Captain. "Captain, it's The Ketokar. And it's Captain is targeting you, now I know you don't need protection but please allow me to stay guard with you." His voice filled with concern but strong with confidence.

Xamar || Aboard The Amaranthia

The Katokar was here, along their ship and the fight began. Xamar was still atop the crows nest, standing with his arms engulfed in scorching flames. He looked down upon The Katokar before joining his arms together and shooting a stream of fire at the enemies crow nest. The man who stood next opposite Xamar, atop the attacking crows nest fell fast and hard into the deck as the mast blustered collapsed. The man was dead on impact. Xamar took a second before diving off of his perch, nose diving straight into the open body of water beneath him. The screams of the dying, the roar of the living was all but muffled under the waters surface. Xamar continued to swim underwater, going across the bottom of The Katokar and to the other side. He emerged with little gasp, the sound of battle was now booming through the air. He latched onto the side of the ship and found a hole for where the mages peer through, he had a look inside and saw about 10 men on the other side casting magic and volleying magic blasts, "Well that seems a little overkill..." Xamar had an idea and he smiled slightly. He put his open hand through the open hole and shot a small ball of fire towards them, "Blazing Discharge!" The small flame ball imploded at first but then erupted. The explosion was almost instant, the fire encasing Xamar with no pain and the men who were firing magic were gone, leaving a gaping hole in the ship. "Never mind, I apologies, that was overkill..."

Having gotten used to the ship in the two weeks aboard Karl had settled into a routine, he would wake before any other members of the group and lean against the railings watching the waves. So when the pirate ship appeared and the fighting began, Karl was at the forefront of the charge. As the boarding planks where placed Karl leaped onto one and sprinted his way to the pirates ship. Karl's long sword was drawn and he neatly parried a slash from one of the pirates blades, knocking the blade aside Karl stabbed the dark elf through the chest, a snarl on the dark elf's face as the blade was withdrawn and he fell dead. Karl continued to cut through a few more pirates before he reached the other side of the ship. Hearing an explosion below decks Karl made his way underneath the first deck of the ship to where the explosion was made. Seeing Xamar looking into the ship Karl, nodded and continued to the lower decks. Upon reaching the next deck, Karl noticed the cells, he was in the ships brig,(prison), sheathing his blade Karl walked towards the end of the ship, inspecting the cells as he went.
@OtomostheCrazy Upon reaching the last cell Karl saw a dark elf sitting inside. "Hey, what are you in there for? And more importantly who are you?" Karl asked the elf.
