@Caits Sinclair is basically a non combatant detective type get her to a crime scene soon enough and she could act as an expert witness everywhere except a court of law; Batman would have loved having access to her in his younger days.
Using this ability Eli is able to read backwards time at a static location, from an inanimate object or a living being or plant. This ability varies in reach backwards in several ways such as - 1 Speed of perception, it can take seconds to observe hours back if the event were traumatic or highly emotional in which case Retro sees without trying or requiring hours of meditation. 2 How long ago did it happen If it is a living being then her retro can be sped up and reach back farther if they themselves are thinking of the time in question though it can also work if the subject is forced by repetitive questions or exposure that causes them to think back.
3 Then there is casual random perception that is caused by Eli's sustained exposure to a person, object or place. (three to five years of exposure to Eli may result in her knowing someone's past better than they do.)
This ability enables Eli to understand any form of communication and to respond as if she were an expert in the form. Reading, Writing, Sign, Lips and even Electronic signals.
This is as expected a fickle power which Eli herself isn't in control of that acts to keep her safe or at least still breathing an free to move. (A gun pointed at her might jam or just as the trigger is pulled she falls on her rear as the air above her is shredded. Simple or Sublime; Dull or Hilarious her Luck saves the day for her)
Personality: Elliott is a haunted young woman both for the horrors she's witnessed and the knowledge of "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" Still for all that she's seen and it's effect on her Elliott feels driven to speak for the victims of crime.
Young and with no experience in any form of training she was still found working as a special contractor for Law Enforcement in the American an Canadian Serial Killer units where she was and is still respected as a professional. (Of course she had been hiding how detailed she was seeing the crimes trickling out information with just enough punch to push every case to certain solution)
Bio: Elliott was born in a world sailing yacht 75 miles north by northwest named The Diva owned by her parents the Eureka Bay Sinclairs. (Legend holds that a coin was flipped to decide whether to sail into Canadian waters or US waters; The Diva docked in Seattle. Her parents from both sides of the border were delighted that chance had given them the ability of making her a baby of dual citizenship.
Sinclair Studios is the hub of recording and filming on Canada's west coast and her father head of studio who had married Elisa Hawkmoon Native American Opera Diva who was the toast of Kings as they say.
Raised in Eureka Bay a small harbor just north of Vancouver she was home schooled and may have escaped all notice if not for her Discovery of a girl's body washed ashore at her family home.
Some how she convinced her parents that she needed to become involved in the investigation and they must use their connections to grant her access. They threw all caution to the winds and flew her down where her dad who'd met the Portland Chief of police while filming there took her to a lunch he arranged with the man; she was 14.
Since that first case she has been at the call of any police department willing to ask for help.
Then five months ago while visiting the scene of a body dump El was shocked to see a new and horrific crime which had happened on the same spot. There was no trouble Retroing the crime because the bloody body if a girl only moments dead forced it's brutal memories and fear for another near by.
It was a fishing trawler and even as she called Nine one one she heard a girl scream on board. Then knowing she should let the real police officers handle things she grabbed a pipe on the Dock smashing it against the hull an screaming. Needless to say the killer stopped hurting the girl and came outside to deal with an intruder only to find El who he pronounced delicious.
A chase ensued and things seemed to be going her way till she was hiding in a loft listening to the killer come up the stairs. Then for no other reason than bad luck she fell through the ceiling landing on her back her breath knocked out. Moments later the guy she'd be avoiding stood over her laughing; that's when beam in the ceiling fell lose from the hole she'd knocking him out cold.
Unwilling to see their daughter risk her life in such a manner again her parents almost stuck her with a shadow till the man they choose suggested the Academy
@RumikoOhara >_< I can't remember if I'm to help accept people or not right now. I used to be a GM in the old thread, now I'm unsure. I will say that it looks alright, as long as you don't overuse the past-seeing power. There may be some things that are part of the character's arc. If you're going to reveal past stuff, maybe run it past the player first, that way you don't overstep boundaries?
Also there seems to be a missing piece. Under the first "retro" power, there's something that starts (A and then there's nothing else there. Like you dropped a sentence and forgot to delete the rest, or write the rest?
Otherwise this seems like fun. I like the Omnilingual power, it's not one that comes up often but it's a great non-combat skill.
