@Framing A Moose In a RWBY rp I had a character who was entirely based around their Semblance. As a substitute for a weapon, they had a magical tool that enhanced their Aura so that they could keep up with everyone's weapons with just their Semblance. So there's that idea if you don't want to have a weapon.

Well, that's a good idea, but it's not exactly something that'd fit the vision I have of my character. Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea, but I view my character as having raw power, rather than power which she can completely control. In fact, that's one of the main weaknesses of hers: her semblance is completely emotion-based, meaning that she can't control it, at least not very well. But thank you for sharing anyway! It really is a wonderful idea! ^_^

@Framing A Moose Hmm... maybe? I'm going to see what my co-gm thinks because right now I'm bordering on two spectrums right now. I'll try and get to you as soon as possible.

Everyone else, I am currently in the process of reviewing everyone's cs. I'll try not to be too harsh and attempt to be too lax... any who...

Although it's not really any help for your semblance and more just nitpicking.. Faunus don't really display any special characteristics associated with their animal side (as far as we know), but they all have night vision. They more or less just display slight mannerisms that are associated to their animal.

So saying that Leaf has 'this and that' because of his animal heritage might not be a very canon thing..

Well, when the night vision information is revealed, Pyrrha says that "many" faunus possess night vision, implying that not all do which could be attributed to the species of faunus they are. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that faunus have different perks based on their species.

I hope you don't mind me butting in, but from what I understand from the Wiki, Faunus can only have one trait in common with their animal, which I take it more of a suggestion than a hard rule, but back on topic. I think most Faunus have night vision + an ability relating to their trait, like if a faunus has Animals ear they have increased hearing since having two pairs of ears must help with hearing, and tails help with balance or can be used to hang from or grab item's with if they prehensile. This is more of a suggestion since we know more about Faunus politically and historically than their biology so I think we can go into Headcanon area as long as its reasonable, I think two or so traits per faunus would keep the rp balanced so Faunus don't become OP compared to humans~

Eh, I disagree. In the episode "Painting the Town", we discover that Sun can see in the dark, which is not a trait that monkeys have. I much prefer @Aquaknight's view on it, as it would be best from at least a Roleplaying standpoint.

@Aquaknight All I can say is that your character is like a moth to the flame... and that flame is known as the characters section.... to put it straight, accepted.

@Mercurial To be frank, the Substitution seems a bit... iffy, at least from my end. Sure the cooldown is a few seconds, but how many seconds is a few? Few to the point where it can be spammed? Or something that allows for more that enough time to properly react and counter?

@PatrickDrummer Uh, what color does her name relate to or make you think of off the top of your head if any? Also the semblance is just basically speed, right? That's what I got from it. If I'm incorrect and it is basically controlling time in a way, then I would implore you to rework/reword her semblance or at the very least come up with a new one.

@Scarifar Like Drummers, what color does their name relate to or makes you think of? Other than that he seems ok for the most part.

So those are the people I've reviewed so far! I'll try to find some time tomorrow to finish off everyone else. If it looks like I skipped anyone, I haven't! Anyways, night.

I understand your concerns. The thing is that everyone seems to have a different idea of what a reasonable time period is for stuff like this in RPs and I haven't the foggiest clue what would be myself. Honestly, I would be perfectly fine to accept whatever limit you put on it.

@Savo you know, I've never understood why people think that EVERYONE needs to have a name related to a color. I mean, sure, everyone in team RWBY has a name related to a color, but everyone else has a name related to something else. Look at the members of team JNPR, for example.

@Scarifar

It's actually stated by the creators themselves, that all children born after the great war are named after a colour. JNPR characters are actually named after things associated with colour. And that's how it works in RWBY. Please read about it.'

Eg.
- "Jaune" is the French word for yellow.
- Nora's name may reference her color via the Nora Barlow Columbine, a pink flower named after the granddaughter of Charles Darwin
- "Pyrrha" is derived from the Greek adjective pyrrhos (πυρρός), which means "flame-colored"
- Liè (烈) is Chinese for "ardent". Ren (蓮) is Japanese kanji for "lotus"

Also this

Well shit. Guess I should think of a color name, then.

The color naming convention is for any part of the name, most of the time it's both first and last name, sometimes it's only the first name, sometimes it's the last it doesn't matter as long as there's a color inspired name in there somewhere~
