Phew that took a while. Sorry I was so slow. Thanks to Dead Cruiser for the nice formatting that I stole. ;)

A small note, I was having some trouble describing Shaerel's armor and ultimately ended up basing my description on the picture I pulled for her appearance. I feel like some of my writing in that section might be a little hard to understand so if any of it is incoherent just refer to the picture and ignore my inability to describe armor please.

@Aristo A wonderful idea. Well done for tackling the Shadow Realm in her bio, what you've stated about it is more or less bang on point.

@Diggerton Awesome. So that's how that guy from FF7 was able to carry that huge sword with his spindly arms :P Accepted! And it read fine to me tbh, I don't think anything there confused me.

Righty'o, I'm about ready to launch this thing. I've finished my regiment sheet, just umming and arring over what form my Captain should take, or if I should have one at all. Decisions, decisions.

I would like to launch things tomorrow at the latest. I know there's still a straggler or two getting themselves together, so I'd ask them to please let me know if they think they're unable to make the deadline. I imagine I could stretch it another 24 hours, but I'd very much like to see things moving before the weekend arrives.

I'll be throwing together some short bios for the 10 Forsworn in my regiment, should be added to my CS later this evening. I figure that with so few,any single one should be recognisable.

I don't know if everyone is already aware of this and I'm just dumb but we're in the notable roleplays section of the new RPGN which is kind of neat I guess.

Casual:Champions, Regiments and Wizards - @Footman - Medieval Fantasy. One of the most popular genres in fiction, and it just keeps spitting out more goodness. This here looks like a prime example, Footman has obviously put in his work.

Oh Wow. Aint that something? I've been here like five minutes and now I feel smug as Hell! Haha. Well I guess it's really thanks to all you guys, I never imagined this RP would get anywhere near as big as it has. I really, REALLY hope it actually works once we launch, and I don't get remembered as a total failure :P

Thanks for bringing this to my attention lol.

Writing up Eldanorré's trusty second-in-command and then onto the regiment! I'm thinking a more traditional mix of medieval troops, drawn from desperate retainers and survivors of her kingdom's civil war. Battered and bruised, but never broken!

Tomorrow. Everyone who has outstanding sheets has more or less, and in one way or the other, confirmed that they should be ready. :)

Remarkable similarities between the Emperor and his Moon Guard, and Thalia and the Twilight Knights. Should worth good interactions once we get rolling.

There's a notable RP's section?

I need to check this out!

Also, it seems the Mekhania Dragoons have a mighty equal/foe in the Rhedrinnor swan knights.
But in the end, it doesn't matter, for the true battle is that of the banquet hall, on the ballroom floor and in the political venture!
That takes a true gentleman.

Finished up my sheets! Here's a final look for pending acceptance. In contrast to most other regiments, mine is pretty mundane, with Eldanorré being the only notable magic-user. But it's through her force of will, their skill at arms and Luthien's generalship that they'll prevail!

@Aristo Accepted.

@Disciple Cain Annnnnnnnd accepted.

Okay now it's about time I looked to getting this thing started. Originally, I had an existing idea of how this RP would start, way back when I assumed I'd get about 4 or 5 players. WELP, we've certainly got a bit more than that, which means my original intention of a starting with a general "character meet and greet" might accidentally kill the RP, because of the sheer amount of time it might take characters to fully interact with each other.

So now I'm favouring a scenario that starts immediately with explosive action, but settles towards a brief calm so that characters converse outside of a "sword in throat" environment.

But this is a big group, and at this point, I feel it'd be unwise for me to simply plod on without testing for a consensus. So here's two possible scenarios (withholding plot spoilers), and I'd like to know what you guys would prefer?

Intro Scenario A) The ships of the second armada make landfall upon the arid coastline of ,south-western Everstrine, and the RP starts as our champions and regiments are disembarking. The champions then set about planning their approach to Sandbrick, who to send as scouts, who goes left, right etc etc and then after the discussion they go on their way.

My concern with this idea, as it was the original one, is that as we have so many players people might get bored by what could be quite a drawn out conversation.

Intro Scenario B) It has been three days since Alliance forces landed in Everstrine, and they have been marching hastily without little rest towards Sandbrick, after receiving news that it was about to fall. As the combined champions and regiments press onwards, zig-zagging through the endless dunes that make up much of south-western Everstrine, they are suddenly ambushed by *BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP* and a desperate battle breaks out almost immediately - which is where my intro will end.

Thoughts?

I honestly like the B scenario more because the action immediately starts. Though, small question: will this be a player-driven RP (aka the players can make up what happens and such) with supervision? Or will there be a plotline everyone has to follow?

Half and half, really.

I intend to involve narratives from Gargth's perspective, and the players will get to see what he's thinking, and some of what he's doing. By way of this, I intend to influence the direction our characters take. However I wont even try - nor would I even want to - dictate things step by step.

Through my Emperor, I will also attempt to keep things moving early-on. The Alliance has landed to relieve three sieges, and to put an end to Gargth. All three towns are on their way, as they traverse the magic barrier that encircles the lands around Gargth's tower. So things should hopefully just plod along in that direction.

However, like I say, I wont be dictating things. Just providing nudges and ideas for people to grasp and act on. People are equally okay to tell me to go f**k myself and embark upon their own little shindig.

Yeah but who would want to do that? We want a good narrative as much as you do (I hope). We can always work out before hand, in notes, how other commanders and their orders may have interacted with each other in notes. Allow for us to have something we can perhaps do on the side while also driving forward the main roleplay. Higher survivability for the roleplay if we're still doing stuff even when it's not our post in the main roleplay, I think.

Sorry for the massive size of the post. You'll want to read all of it though, as it covers both the Emperor's movements, and Gargth's. I do not intend to make my posts that size often, so those of you that hate long ass posts, do not fear!

I'll be here to answer any questions. I've tried to be clear as possible, but I know I'm not the greatest writer.

A few simple ones though.

1) Yes. Gargth is attacking US.

2) Yes, the Emperor is still at Sandbrick, but will be returning to the battlefield in my next post.

3) The Shadow Warriors made of sand are fragile, yet strong. They can tear through steel with their claws, if given enough time, but can be felled by a single sword blow or arcane shot. Their strength is in their numbers and disregard for their own well being.

4) No you can't one-hit Gargth, but you can attack him. To save me from replying to fifty posts, anyone that attacks Gargth will gain his attention, and they will suffer an automatic arcane attack. He is powerful, but will not be using energy drawn from the Shadow Realm until I say so.
