Prologue
[The Digital World – Ten Years Ago]

A Digimon with a dream. A dream so outrageous that almost none believed it could be done. So he set off alone, seeking others who would sympathize with his cause. As a Child, he could do little. But with his ambition he grew strong, stronger than any would have believed he could be.

His journey took him to the farthest reaches of the Digital World. It was in these places where he found the few who believed in the same dream he had for their world. Though their group was small, they quickly grew in strength. They were one in the same, Digimon with Dreams of a peaceful future, where darkness was but a faint memory.

And so the group traveled far and wide, training, evolving, and defeating darkness wherever it reigned supreme. Eventually, they realized how much time had passed, and looked at themselves from where they had come from. They had grown powerful, now some of the most powerful Digimon in existence. They had confronted each darkness with all their might, and defeated it. Now it was the time to ensure the darkness did not return to their world.

[The Digital World – Five Years Ago]

The Harmonious Ones witnessed the power and prowess of the group. They watched as the Digital World hailed them as heroes, having united the Digital World and destroyed the evil that laid within. So, when the group, who had since become known as the Council of Five, the now leadership of the Digital World, set out on their new quest to prevent the evil from returning, they offered their assistance in a way none of them thought possible.

They offered Alphamon, the head of the council, a look at the multiple Digital Worlds that lay beyond theirs. What he saw seemed bleak. Time and time again, no matter how badly the Digimon fought, evil would always rise up and break their world, forcing it into submission in ways he could barely understand. Only one thing could ever save it… humans, partnered with the Digimon.

With this new information, Alphamon knew what he had to do. He presented a plan to the other council members, Omnimon, Imperialdramon, Gallantmon, and Susanoomon. And they agreed. They would bring Humans to the Digital World in order to help save it. And so began their latest quest to protect their world.

[The Digital World – One Month Ago]

Their plan was nearing success. With the Harmonious One’s assistance, the council created several small devices to be sent into the Human World to seek out worthy humans to protect their world. It seemed as if peace would be ensured for ages to come.

However, one of the council members, Susanoomon, became disillusioned with their plan. He began to believe that Digimon alone could protect their world. The other members agreed with Alphamon, causing a minor split in the council.

Then the unthinkable happened. Susanoomon broke off ties with the council, and sparked a Civil War between the Digimon. Surprisingly to the remaining council, the majority of the Digimon believed what they were doing was wrong, and that they could protect their own world. A small minority still believed in Alphamon’s plan, causing a bloody battle to break out.

As their fortress came under attack itself, the council put their plan into motion, knowing now was the time that the Digital World needed it the most. They sent the devices into the human world, and turned to face their former friend Susanoomon in one final battle.

[The Digital World – Present Day]

The war rages on still. Numerous factions have developed. The Digital Army, commanded by Susanoomon, battle against the heavily outnumbered Resistance of Light and Hope, a rag tag group of Digimon who still believe in the council’s plan. There are, however, whispers that an unknown group has been pulling the strings behind this whole thing.

The Council’s Fate is unknown. Some say they were killed, others say they lay imprisoned within the remains of their former fortress, now Susanoomon’s Command Center. The Digital World is now divided, and only one thing can save it now…

Luna Bishop and Dustin Coleman
[Nearby Woods – Colorado, U.S.A.]

“Hey! Luna! It’s almost time for dinner! Come on, I give up already!” Yells a boy. He’s walking around in the woods, looking around him and yelling for someone. This is Dustin Coleman, a 12 year old boy living in a foster home run by the Bishop Family. “You don’t get to quit that easily, Dustin, c’mon and find me!” Taunts another voice back. A girl is sitting on a thick tree branch, watching Dustin from above. This is Luna Bishop, a girl the same age as Dustin, and only daughter of the Bishop Family.

She giggles a little as she watches Dustin hopelessly try and track her footprints on the ground. “I’m begging you by this point, come on! I’m starving, please come out!” He says as he slumps down at the base of the tree Luna is settled in. She stealthily creeps along the branch, sliding down the trunk to a lower branch, then hangs down off of it right above his head. “Oh, are you that hungry?” She asks, scaring Dustin half to death.

“Luna! Geez, girl, you could’ve given me a heart attack!” He said, clutching his chest as he regained his senses. “Not my fault you suck at hide and seek!” She said, sticking her tongue out playfully. “So, you said something about dinner?” She asked.

Before Dustin had a chance to answer, the two suddenly notice a bright light in the sky above them. It looked like some kind of tear in a pair of jeans. Suddenly to streaks of light zoomed out of it, like meteorites, and proceeded to crash deeper in the woods.

“What was that? Some kind of space rock or something?” Asked Dustin, looking towards where the objects landed. “Come on, let’s check it out!” He said afterward, rushing towards the location. “Dustin, Wait! Ugh, he never listens…” She said as she took off after him. She quickly caught up to him as he crouched behind a bush. “Shh, look.” He said, pointing towards two craters with light coming out of them.

“What are they…? UFO’s now?” She asked, Dustin breaking cover to step forward and investigate. What he found were two strange devices, each at the center of the craters, and each without a scratch on them. “Cell Phones?” He asked, sliding down into the foot deep crater and reaching to pick one up. “Dustin wait! They could be dangerous, weapons, who knows!” She said, but the words of wisdom fell upon deaf ears. He picked the device at his feet up. It had been pure white at first, but upon touching it, parts of it were now a cyan blue.

“I don’t know… but it changed color…” He said, Luna now very curious and reaching to grab the other one herself. Upon her touching it, the same parts that had changed color on the device Dustin held changed to purple on the one she now held. “This is so weird… I wonder who these belong to…” Said Luna, before suddenly being blinded by the light being emitted from the device. Dustin looked over as the same thing happened to him. Then everything went black.

The spots where Luna and Dustin once stood were now empty. The two children had simply vanished from the face of the earth.

Delsin Grey
[The Great White North - British Colombia, Canada]

The sound of plastic rapidly tapping against plastic echoed out through narrow navy blue halls. The large, quaint household was eerily quiet save for the noise of hasty typing. It's source coming through an open door resting at the end of one of the halls, where inside a short form was slouched over a wood desk. Large earphones kept the black haired boy in his own world while his lime green eyes remained glued to the text scrolling across his screen. His fingers dancing across the keyboard beneath them as if it was choreographed.

It seemed nothing could distract the young man from his ever important chemistry paper. Not even the odd appearance of lights in the closing day sky. What looked to be something similar to the Northern Lights lit up the skyline in a fabulous display of various colors that only lasted for mere moments. As the light faded however, a small spark streaked out of the clouds.

CRASH

The teenage stopped his vigorous typing, yawning as he raised his arms above his head. Almost done...Than I can look into that link Carrick sent me earlier. The loyal student sunk back into his desk chair, turning it slightly to face the window as he let out a shaky breath and rubbed his arms. It wasn't nearly this cold five minutes ago...I could have sworn dad turned the heat on before he left..

The grey sweater wearing boy's eyes then went wide as he spied the baseball sized hole in his bedroom window. The cool air freely flowing into the room as he calmly took off his headphones and wore a look of confusion and annoyance. "What the hell?"

"Delsin! Did'ja see those crazy lights in the sky just now!? I swear I seen something fall outta the-"

The younger boy skidded to a halt in the doorway of the room, curious lime green eye's shrinking to pricks as he looked at the large crack in the glass pane. "Whoa, what happened? Did someone throw a rock through your window?"

A sigh escaped the older brother as he got up from his chair and walked over to the window to examine the hole with a stern frown. Being mindful of the glass near his feet. "Something like that. It sure wasn't hail." Delsin carefully brought his hand up to the hole, feeling around it's sharp edges as he peered out through the glass and into the snowy streets below. Shaking his head he pulled back from the sill and crossed his arms. "Nothing....Whoever did it must have ran off already."

The younger sibling dressed in basic yellow long sleeve strolled into the room, observing the shattered glass on the floor and breaking out in a sweat. "Dad's gonna be ticked...We just replaced that window last year."

Delsin nodded slowly as his eyes began to follow the path that the foreign object could have taken. "He'll be less ticked if we clean it up before he gets home. Trevor, can you go get the broom for me please? I'm gonna try to find whatever made that hole."

Trevor nodded up and down frantically as he spun around to speed walk back into the hall. Leaving Delsin to stroll away from the window. His lime gaze keeping track of the angle that the glass breaking item could have taken as the invisible trail guided him to his dresser. The book smart teen crouched to stick his arm under the wood container and begin feeling around with his hand....Until his fingers brushed against something small and rounded. Could this be it?

His arm came back to him as he blew the dust off of his grey sweater, his other hand going to the small object in his hand and feeling around it. His focused stare began to get misty as he scanned the small handheld device. It looks like...A walkie-talkie? Why would someone throw a walkie-talkie of all things through my window?

His grip on the old toy weakened as he drew it away from his body. "The grips changed color....It's grey. I wonder how it...."

And then the room went silent. Only the howling wind coming from the hole of the window echoed through the second story of the home as Trevor returned with broom and dust pan. His head craning around the empty bedroom as he began to panic a bit. "Delsin...? Delsin! Come on this isn't funny! Where'd you go!? You can't just bail on me like that! Come on! Where are you!?"

~~~
[?]
A blinding flash of light, and then, nothing. Darkness fogged the vision of the northern teenager, showing him nothing of the world around him. Unconsciously, he reached a hand out into the void in a desperate attempt to gain some sort of barring on his situation. His reach gained him a very surprising sensation that his hand reeled back from before grasping it gently.
Grass?
Delsin's eye lids slowly creaked open to allow his blurred vision to focus on the upside-down hand before him. He was laid out flat on his back, hand idly touching and poking at the soft green turf. But...I was in my room. How did I get outside? And there was snow for miles I....Am I even anywhere near town?
Quickly sitting up, the black haired student threw his hands to his head and was met with what felt like a rock slamming into the side of his brow. "Geh...Damn it." He blinked away the uncomfortable pain above his eye to pull his hand back and observe the source of it. So I still have the walkie-talkie...It's better than nothing.
The book worm rubbed at the tiny welt that was forming on his head as his gaze panned around the immediate area. To his surprise, and irritation, that cloudiness that impeded his vision and made the world around him appear hazy persisted even after he blinked. A forest...Defiantly not anywhere near home.
The utterly lost and confused boy slowly rose to his feet, black boots flattening the dirt beneath him as he starred off into the trees. Not getting anywhere just sitting around....I need to find something to help me figure out where I ended up.
With the dread and chilling feeling of being lost and alone in an unknown place not far behind him, the boy clutched at the strange grey device in his hand and began to walk forward. Taking occasional glances at the thing as he poked at it's buttons.
Renamon
Padding through the forest, a yellow, fox-like Digimon let out a small sigh. Finally, I thought I'd never find neutral territory. At least I think this is... it's peaceful. Food seems to be fairly plentiful. I'm certain there's water around here... but I should take a look, just in case.
Everything seemed quiet. Ears pricking, she was fairly certain she heard footsteps in the distance. They were slow, and didn't really worry the Renamon much, however. I wonder who lives all the way out here... Oh, and I should find shelter too while I'm searching for water. A cave would be preferable, but I'm not sure if I'll be so lucky.
Continuing through the forest, Renamon took in her surroundings. There appeared to be fruit-wielding trees. Pausing for a moment, the Data-attributed mon straightened herself out as much as she could so that she could reach the delectable fruit. Picking one, she began to snack on it as she pressed onward.
@Light Lord
The distant, slow sound of footsteps from earlier grew closer. Renamon considered taking a path that would avoid any sort of confrontation, however, it was not so. A strange figure appeared in the distance. It was unlike any sort of Digimon she'd ever seen, and it was holding an odd piece of technology she didn't recognize. It seemed quite lost. Not that she knew her way around this particular area either, but there was something different upon its face. Was it fear? She wasn't exactly sure.
Making her way over towards the black-haired biped, she waved her free hand. "I'm neutral, don't worry." Well, she hoped that wouldn't be a cause for worry. Perhaps that fact might help relieve whatever tension the grey-garbed figure was undergoing.
The walk didn't do much for the normally level headed teenager as he continued along in the random direction he had chosen. His eyes drifting through the flora around him as he searched the back of his mind for possible clues that the plant life could give him for determining where exactly he had ended up. Oak.....Ironwood....Some lilies and daffodils....These are all plants that grow throughout most of North America....There's also some sort of fruit tree growing there....The strangest thing is, I haven't seen any animals yet. This place should be teeming with them when there's all of these resources around...
Looking down at the small screened device in his hands, he bit his lip and pressed at one of the directional buttons. The small handheld simply did the same thing as before: Scroll to the next screen in a set of three he had been able to work so far. This one housed a simple digital clock, which showed the time as 6:28 PM. That's only about twenty minutes after I last checked the clock on my computer...This thing isn't gonna tell me if this place is in a different time zone. An old walkie-talkie wouldn't be able to sync up the clock with an internet connection....Not like there is one in the middle of the woods anyways.
Then the next screen, what appeared to be some sort of compass. The pixelated needle moved and spun in the same motions that a real one would, and indicated each cardinal direction. This seemed to bring a small bit of comfort to the worried boy, the frown on his disturbed face softening a bit. This should help...I'm glad I held onto this....I'm not completely lost.
The feminine voice that called out to Delsin caused him to look up from the tiny device in his hand stop dead in his tracks. His lost look of dread turning into something more akin to an uncomfortable grimace. .....Is that a bipedal fox? And did it just speak to me in english? The sweater wearing student took a step back, looking the fox's form up and down and still uselessly trying to blink away the strange haze. ...I must be dreaming. It's the only way this makes sense....But what did it mean by 'I'm neutral'?
Attempting to drop his clearly awkward looking stance, Delsin stood straight and crossed his arms. Keeping the little compass secure in his grip as locked eyes with what had to be some sort of figment. "What do you mean by....neutral?"
Wessel van de Meer
[Apeldoorn – Netherlands]
School was finally over. Honestly the lessons were okay but Wessel was once again the new kid meaning he didn't have any friends yet. As he rode his bike back home dressed appropriately for the recently chilly weather , he couldn't help but let his mind wander. He thought back to what he had to leave behind this time due to the move, not just good friends but even his first girlfriend. Oh they kept in contact thanks to the internet and were still dating but they both knew their relationship wouldn't last much longer.
Due to his reminiscing he didn't notice the bright light in the sky nor the strange object that came out of it until it hit him in the chest. "Wat de? He stopped his bike and got so he could check the object out, it appeared to be pure white cellphone. As soon he picked it up the handle turned green. *"Must be heat sensitive."* He discarded that though almost immediately as the color change happened way too fast to be due to body heat.
Suddenly a bright flash came form the device's screen and with that both Wessel and his bike were gone.
Monodramon
The little dragon had an amazing day. He spent the first half of it asleep after chasing a particularly bright Demimeramon throughout the entire night. And what a shiny Demimeramon it was! He would have lit up his little cave wonderfully. But alas he had one advantage that now plagued Monodramon's mind. Well, time to learn to fly! And then I'll be the world's greatest lightmaker! he thought as he woke up. After all, that was what his wings were for, right? Why did he not thought of this before! He was no Hopmon anymore.
But how to approach this? He tried just swinging his arms up and down before and it did him little good. Maybe if he gave himself a boost? He has seen a Metalgreymon take a leap off of a cliff and dive into a glide - perhaps that was the key! Surely if such lumbering, metal titan could fly so could he.
As the cliff above his cave was too high to climb and he did not want to walk around to climb the slope from the other side, the dragon mon instead looked to the nearby forest for a tall tree. Finding one he was happy with he climbed to the top - or tried to at least. One of the branches snapped under his weight and the little dragon flattened himself on the ground. "Silly tree!" she barked, taking the snapped branch and beating it against the trunk until the branch snapped. And then clawing on the trunk until the tree fell. That should teach it!
Seeing no alternative other than the cliff now, he looked down on his feet. Maybe that rude piximon was right, maybe he was too chubby? Bah! What did he know! Old geezer was always running the village too hard, that was why Monodramon left - there was no time to play when he was done working and sleeping!
A while later the little dragon stood on top of the cliff. The view was magnificent! He could see all over to the mountains on the horizon. Mon who didn't want to fly were insane in his opinion. It was easy too! He jsut needed to open his wings, take a running leap and-
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh!"
He was falling. His wings slowed the fall own somewhat, but it was a fall nonetheless. He braced himself to meet the unwelcoming, hard mother earth.
*THUD*
Hm. Mother Earth wasn't so hard. In fact, she seemed rather... fluffy? Warm too! Monodramon snuggled the fuzzy surface for a while in delight before he opened his eyes-
And saw he didn't land on mother earth, but instead on some... creature. It looked somewhat like the celestial digimon, all pristine and white, but lacked the wings. She was definitely not associated with earth too. Someone's mother - maybe? What was it to him. Hopping off of the poor soul who was at the wrong place in the wrong time, Monodramon lied on his belly in fornt of the unconscious mon and poked it's nose. "Hey! Wake up!"
Katya
Something poked her nose. Which was strange. She didn't have any annoying pest of a sibling that would wake her up, her father would not do that himself and none of their servants were so rude to do so. In fact, Alfred always woke her by bringing the breakfast in, the aromas of freshly baked pastry and hot beverage always doing the job for him. She could use a beverage, and an aspirin, because her head was pounding like a bag of bricks just landed on her.
In fact, it did not seem like such a far fetched theory - try as she might, Katya could not remember when she got to sleep. Did that mean she was dreaming? It was in one of those movies-
"Hey! Wake up!"
Какого черта? she thought at the muffled voice that called out, presumably top her. Gods her head was killing her! If this was a dream, now was the time to wake up. Perhaps she should try and open her ey-
"Ewww!" She groaned as something wet, warm and rough brushed against her cheek. Did Father bring home a cat?! By gods it would be a nightmare to remove the hair form her clothes, surely not! Her eyes snapped open-
And fell onto the face of what she could only describe as BIG, purple grinning lizard. Her first instinct was to scream and twitch away, so scream and move away she did, stumbling over her own two feet and breaking her fall on her arms. The throbbing in her head intensified as her brain rattled around in her skull, making her wince.
"Are you okay? Sorry for landing on your head, but it'S your fault for just standing under a cliff! You're lucky I wasn't a boulder or you would be pancakes!"
Katya could only stare in wonder and bewilderment. The lizard spoke. To her. In pristine English, much better than her own thick accent.
"Are you all there? I did not break you did I?"
да. "Oh! Yes. I am fine... Vot are you?" she asked, still a little dazed. Where was she? And why could she not remember how she got here, or what did she do for the past few hours? Was it because the lizard landed on her head? This had to be a dream. Reality couldn'T be possibly this strange. Right?
Tilting her head somewhat, she raised a brow at the apparent-male figure. Is he seriously confused...? After deliberating for a few moments, the bipedal fox put a claw to her forehead, and then began to recited the word's definition, "Neutral: not helping or supporting either side in a conflict, disagreement, etc.; impartial."
Removing her paw, she crossed her gloved arms, looking directly at the being before her, "In simpler terms, I'm not taking part in this ridiculous Digital Civil War. So... regardless of your affiliation, I don't really care? I'm not here to pick a fight, unless you really want to. But, given your confusion..." Trailing off she frowned, averting her gaze to the ground for a moment before refocusing her attention, "...Anyway, I haven't actually seen one of your kind before, so I'm curious; what kind of Digimon are you?"
Mirko Dubrinic
[Nighttime - Bedroom]
Mirko was huddled under his covers reading on the tablet some stories. The descriptions were giving him shivers and he really started to hate it. What did he hate? The stupid well written story that talk about monsters in the fog. He hated his best friend from club who dared him to read it till the end. And for good last he hated himself for even accepting the dare and even more for being curious enough to actually be reading it.
"Curiosity killed the cat." He whispered to himself, hoping to get some comfort out the sound of his voice, possible break the immersion seeing the end of the page. The few last sentences made Mirko whimpered. He felt proud for going through but a much bigger part of him felt simple uneasy. He KNEW it was just made up... But it still gave him shivers. He left the light of his tablet on as he closed his eyes, it was late and he had to wake up early.
[Morning - On the way to school]
Mirko stifled another yawn. "Dont forget your scarf, its cold in the morning." To say he felt sleepy, was a understatement he got barely four hours of sleep, most of the night he spent awake attempting not to think about what he read just hours before.
"I will mom. Should I buy anything on the way home?" Mirko questioned as he tied his shoes, checking one more time if he had everything in his second bag for his football training. There was the change of clothes, towel and shoes as well as a lunch package,
his books were in his backpack proudly showing off the logo of his favorite club.
"Yes. I wrote it down for you. " His mom walked over and gave him a list with his wallet and a kiss on his forehead. His dad had already left the house in half past four this morning having a shooting. He promised to come in time for dinner and Mirko was excited to hear which people his dad meet.
The boy grabbed his favorite lucky ball and run out. Only to slow in his step and gulp, there was fog in the morning. The story from last night poping on the front of his mind. That would be silly, Mirko started running to warm up and keep his mind off it. It worked well enough, he enjoyed running beside the river bed. Until some colorful lights and a crash startled him enough to make him fall over and drop his ball.
He halfway awaited some tall figure to be now atop of him trying to eat him.
No one was around.
Mirko chuckled, this was embarrassing beyond believe. Assuming it was most likely someone partying or a light from hundredth other things like cars or flashy toys. There was no reason to be so jumpy. Picking himself up he noticed that his ball rolled off and was now dangerously close to falling into the water. That was a real reason to worry about. Adjusting his club bag on his left shoulder he sprinted and kicked the ball away from the edge and directly into a carter.
Carter?
Mirko followed it up and noticed a small sink hole in the earth, beside his ball in the middle of it was a device of sort. Never seeing such a piece of tech he picked it up. Examining it curiously, it was white in color and it was cold for only a moment. The device felt warm in his hand and the white retreated to give place to a grey and really dark red color. He found the reaction amazing and was watching as the thing screen awoke as some form of flashlight activated and shone brighter and brighter until Mirko had to close his eyes.
Beside the river bank in the foggy morning was left only a lone football.
[In the woods]
Mirko shifted, his mind starting up and wondering what was pressing against his left side. A moment longer he realized the direction of gravity and was now wondering how he came to be lying on his left side. He sat up and rubbed his face, there was something amiss. He just could not place what it was. Opening his eyes he lazily looked around.
"Ugh...Fasz Where Am I?" He turned around not recognizing the woods, the distinct lack of river was worrying as well. He had to wonder if he was kidnapped, but it wouldnt make sense to wake up ...
"Phone... Where is...ah, found it." Mirko fished his phone out his pocket and faced disappointment. No signal what so ever, and apparently it was two hours after he left home. Unsettled and unsure he picked his club bag, the backpack was still whole and secure on his back. What he did found missing was his ball, but the weird dark red and grey device was resting beside him.
For a half an hour Mirko was walking in one direction, hoping for any road. Instead he spotted a lone cabin in the woods. It looked old and empty, but then again maybe they had a land line he could use to call his parents or police?
Candlemon
[In the cabin in the woods]
Candlemon had a lovely morning, he woke up in the basement of the shelter which he found and took a liking to several days ago. It was a good place to be, a bit lonely but he would try to make friends again. Yesterday his friend search didnt bear fruits, but he collected at least lots of fruits instead. Which he enjoyed now for his breakfast.
He jumped around trying to think of which direction he should try to go in today to find friendly digimon. Finding angry digimon was always way too easy but finding peaceful ones was harder. He would have left though the front door, but when he peeked out the window to check if it was safe or not he noticed a figure staring at the cabin. He had moved the curtains only a tiny bit to peek out, and it didnt look like he was spotted.
He didnt recognise the figure and that made him feel that he had to be on the guard. So he keep on watching hidden in the shadow and the figure keep on staring. After good five minutes Candlemon decided that whoever that was they couldnt be possible out searching trouble. His believe was mostly based on his experience that whoever seeked out trouble didnt stand that long that still. At least in his limited experience.
Maybe they could become friends. A idea came to him and Candlemon jumped to the door that lead to one of the two rooms.
A minute later the door was set up and Candlemon stood in a blind spot in that room and waited. He didnt have to wait for long as he heard the front door open with a squeak. A young sounding voice spoke something. Candlemon couldnt help but suppress a chuckle. Footsteps sounding a bit unsure and then coming closer to the slightly open door.
It was left slightly open on purpose. It got pushed open and a splash followed quickly.
Candlemon jumped out his blind spot and noticed the figure now having a shocked face and wet hair and clothing. It wasnt too much water just one bowl, but the face the other was making was amazing. Candlemon laughed.
What the digimon didnt await was for the other to suddenly fall over on his butt and put his hands up speaking something fast, words he didnt recognise at all. The only thing he was sure was that he caused the other distress.
"I am sorry. I didnt want to scare you."
The other stopped and looked up a bit flinching when Candlemon tried to get closer. "Please dont eat me. Or steal my soul or face."
"What? I am not doing any of it. I am sorry, again for the prank. I thought it fun, you know. Your face is funny with all those wet hair. "
"You arent going to eat me?"
"No."
"You sure."
"Yes."
"Oh.... You know you are a big speaking candle, right?"
Delsin Grey
[Forest?]
@Ninian
The quite accurate definition recited by the humanoid fox caused Delsin's stare to intensify. ....That sounds like something ripped straight out of a dictionary.....Maybe it's some sort of representation of something from my mind? I don't really remember having any other dream where that would manifest as a...humanoid...fox woman-This is way too strange.
As if the rest of what the creature said wasn't confusing enough, that last question left the normally smart teen completely lost. His mouth hung open comedically for just a second before he closed and struggled to come up with some sort of intelligent answer. "I'm not a...'Digimon'. I'm a human. I'm also not from anywhere around here, so I don't have any affiliation, or want to be involved in a civil war. I read enough about them to know that no one ever 'wins' one without heavy losses, and more often than not they're idiotic and pointless."
Glancing down at the small, grey and white device clutched in his right hand, the lime eyed boy reached his hand out towards the strange yellow furred biped. "My name is Delsin Grey...I assume you're one of those 'Digimon' that you mentioned? Do you have a name?"
"A human? Hmmm... well, if you're in fact not a Digimon, that presents more questions than it answers." Putting a claw to her lips, her brows furrowed in contemplation. Human, that word sounds familiar, but... why can't I place it. I'm sure it will come to me... Taking a breath, she opened her maw to speak once more, "So you're apparently not a Digimon, and not from around here? Which I suppose would make sense, since only Digimon live inside the Digital World..." Trailing off, she thought for a moment before continuing, "Anyway, your statement regarding the Civil War is correct. There's been plenty of casualties, and both sides seek peace, so the entire situation doesn't really make much... sense to me."
At Delsin's extended hand, the Digimon blinked for a moment, not really sure as to what he was doing. "Well, yes I'm a Digimon. You can call me Renamon; everyone else does." Frowning for a moment she repeated his name, "Delsin Grey... what a curious name."
Delsin Grey
[A Forest Somewhere]
@Ninian
The student slowly lowered his arm upon seeing that what he was doing wasn't a common gesture in the so called 'Digital World'.
..If...If this is some sort of different world I'm dreaming up, then I should have probably known she wouldn't know what a handshake was....B-But is it really a dream? Usually pinching myself or something along those lines wakes me up, but I just smacked my head with this radio thing earlier and it felt....Totally real....Please just give me some straight answers weird fox thing....
A look of worry spread across the boy's slightly tanned face, brows furrowing in what looked to be stress. "Ok...Renamon. So there's only you...'Digimon' here in this...'Digital World', and it's a safe assumption that the 'Digi' in Digimon is short for for digital..." Looking up into the somehow sentient computer entity's odd icy eyes, a sentence so ridiculous it was hard to formulate left Delsin's lips. "You don't know what a handshake is...Or a human, but do you know what a computer is? Programs? Executable files? Data? From the place that I came from, you, and this entire world would be impossible to even exist unless you were some sort of...Computer simulation."
Noticing things got a bit wordy, the teenager sighed and put his head down. "I'm...Sorry if none of this makes sense to you. I'm just trying to find out where I am, and what's going on."
Luna Bishop and Dustin Coleman
[Somewhere...]
Luna lay on the cold hard ground as she began to wake up. She was still quite groggy, and stared up into the branches of a tree. So she was still in the forest... but something didn't feel right. She felt like she was laying on ice. She moved her hand to raise herself up and felt the cool crunch of... snow! "Snow?! There wasn't any snow on the ground..." She said, cutting herself off as she looked around her. Now the shock had worn off and she finally saw the world around her. She finally realized that the fauna around her was very... unnatural for Colorado.
She heard a grumble from a few feet away. Dustin was still fast asleep. "Dustin, wake up! Dustin!" She said, screaming at the drowsy boy as he sat up. "It's Saturday, Luna... cut me a break... and turn off the AC would you..." He said before plopping back down, shooting back up at the cold shock running down his spine. "AHH! Luna, is this a joke? Did you put ice under my pi-ll-ow..." He said before looking around himself as well. "Okay... now we're dreaming... or I'm dreaming..." He said shaking his head.
"If you're dreaming this, then I'm having the same dream..." She said, walking over to him. She then swiftly pinched him. "OW! What did you do that for?" He said, rubbing his arm. "Checking to see if you were real, or if this really was a dream... OW!" She said as he pinched her in return. "Okay... so we're both real... and this isn't a dream... so... where are we?" He asked. He went to scratch his head, looked down at the ground, and noticed the light blue device he had picked up earlier. "Hey, it's that thing again..." He said, picking it up.
Luna looked around, finding hers not far from where she had laid. "Yeah... same here... did these things do this... whatever it is?" The two looked at each other, and soon Dustin was fiddling with the multiple buttons on the device. All there was were a ton of screens including a compass, some kind of map, and some screen filled with snow, along with the main screen that showed the time. It was just after Six in the Evening. "So weird..."
A sudden rustling in the bushes caught their attention, Luna quickly retreating to Dustin as he ran in front of her to see what it was. There was a bit of mumbling to be heard. "Dracomon, stay down and be quiet! They'll hear you!" Said a clearly feminine voice. "Come on, Dorumon, they don't seem dangerous, let's see who they are!" Said a young male voice. Soon the rustling got stronger, and before long a small dragon-like creature jumped out from the bushes. "Hey... you... who are you? And who's side are you on?" He asked, nervously demandingly. "Dracomon..." Said another creature as she peaked from behind a nearby tree. She seemed to be some kind of purple fox creature with a raptor like body and two small wings that probably couldn't lift the thing.
Seeing these creatures, Luna fell backwards on her butt. Dustin looked forward, amazed at what he saw. "Woah! This is like one of those Cartoons we watch, isn't it?! This is awesome! Oh... right... my name's Dustin. But... who's side... I don't know..." He said, the small dragon tilting his head sideways. "You haven't chosen a side... hmm... what kind of Digimon are you anyways, with a name like Dustin?" He asked. "D-Digimon? What's... what's a Digimon?" Asked Luna, slowly rising to her unsteady feet.
"What's... A Digimon? Wait... you two are Humans, aren't you? It's just like the Council said would happen! They were right! Woo hoo!" Said the small Dragon. "My name's Dracomon, by the way. And I'm a Digimon. So's my friend, Dorumon, over there! Come on, they're humans!" The small purple creature skittishly made her way over to the small group. "H-Human? You're... actually humans?" She asked, looking at Dustin, then to Luna. "Maybe... maybe there is hope..." She said quietly.
Wessel van de Meer
[Forest]
While Wessel had no idea where he was or how he got there, he doubted he was kidnapped as he still had his bike with him. He examined the plants around him but didn't recognize them at all and google couldn't help him either as his smartphone had no connection. * Maybe I was abducted by aliens for some kind of experiment.* As unlikely as it sounded that theory was the only explanation he could think of.
After walking for a bit dragging his bike along, since the roots and rocks made it impossible to ride it he came across a huge tree. Since it's branches were both thick enough to carry him and low enough to reach he decided to climb it and look around. Before he could though a huge bagworm-like creature dropped down from a branch and threw what looked a pinecone at him. Ignoring the alien creature he began climbing. "Hey you this tree is mine, get lost."
Wanyamon
[Bottom of Minomon's tree]
Having used leaves as both a blanket and cover from any agressieve Digimon Wanyamon had made himself a cozy little bed between the roots of a huge tree that apparently housed a very possessieve Minomon. After just an hour of sleep he was woken up by the sounds of fighting and noticed a strange two legged creature trying to attack the larva Digimon despite it clearly using it's barrier to protect itself.
Curious as to what creature could have that much trouble with an In-Training Level the little flufball decided to help out and hopefully finally Digivolve. Unnoticed by the two combattant it hopped closer, until it was behind Minomon, waiting until the barrier to drop. "Take this you treestealer"
Just as the Jungle Trooper was about to use "Pinecone" again Wanyamon jumped up as high as he could and bit with all his strengt. The surprise attack was enough to cause Minomon to regress to a Digi-egg and disappear. Thanks to the data of his foe Wanyamon finally reached his goal. "Wanyamon Digivolve to Gaomon.
Candlemon
[In front of the cabin in the woods]
Mirko was a strange digimon. Candlemon assumed him to be a rookie at first glance, but he had zero idea about the world like some baby. They were outside his shelter drying in the sun the jacket and scarf that got wet. Candlemon found himself explaining what little he knew about the civil war to Mirko.
"...Thats horrible."
Mirko spoke after Candlemon explanation the fraction. He told Mirko how the army believes in their own strength and the right to protect the world without the help of outsiders. How the resistance were cheaters in the army eyes and how neutrals tried to live their lives as normal as possible. It was a explanation he got when he was young himself, he knew there were more facts about the war, but he didnt know what those were... he didnt want to know them either.
"You must be from another neutral place if you had no idea about it." Candlemon nodded as he spoke, his flame nodding knowingly as well.
"I guess..." Mirko affirmed, looking more sullen he added in a lower tone." My family is sure to get worried because I am missing."
Candlemon stayed silent after that watching out in the trees. He was thinking for a bit before deciding on what he wanted to do.
"I will help you get back to your family."
"Huh. Why would you?"
Candlemon continued to speak ignoring the boy question, smiling wide.
" Plus I bet the sector you are from will be a good place to stay myself."
Mirko looked at him confusedly as he asked him the next question. "Arent you from around here? Wouldnt someone miss you?"
The digimon smile turned a bit less happy. He was searching for friends because he had no one missing him anymore. Looking at Mirko he firstly intended to dismiss the boy question. He couldnt, the other was looking at him honestly worried for him. It warmed his wax body up. Taking a breath the rookie explained the reason.
"No... When I was a in training most my friends that evolved to rookie before me went into the army. I left that sector when my closest friend didnt return from a battle. I trained on my own and evolved from my own strength a few weeks after I left, but... I dont want to join it...Fighting in a war... it scares me. And not in a good way scare."
"I am sorry..."
"Dont worry about it. Its why I want to help you get back to your home. So the one who are close to you dont have to be sad."
Mirko smiled at him and Candlemon could see the other was cheered up for receiving help. "Köszönöm!" He spoke and seeing the frown on Candlemon face Mirko added. "It means thank you. You are a good friend."
"We are friend?"
"Of course. You are helping me out. "
"Yes!" The data type digimon started jumping around really happy how great today has become. "Köszönöm!" Candlemon repeated the word Mirko used to thank him, liking how it sounded.
Mirko Dubrinic
[In the forest]
Mirko followed the digimon back into the forest, his cloths dry at this point again. Candlemon wanted to see where he woke up so to work out from where he came and how to get him back home. The boy had to admit at first he was more than just shocked to see a speaking candle jumping around, its flame making faces as well.
After he was told he isnt facing some form of soul eating monster, but instead a digimon introducing himself as Candlemon, Mirko claimed down. The living candle was definitely not human so hearing it call himself a digimon wasnt as strange to accept. He accepted it as a fact, introducing himself as Mirko. The digimon was nice enough to clear a lot of confusion he had, and give him a bunch of new questions.
He had no idea what to think of the war, the fractions and the fact he was not anywhere on earth. He was sure if a bunch of monster had a civil war the nations would have noticed it? Then again maybe it all was a conspiracy? He read enough stories of adventures of magic worlds that he assumed this was something similar to those. Cross over using a portal that was on the back of a wardrobe and such. The device in his pocket, the one he picked up, had to do something with transporting him here. When he showed it to Candlemon, the digimon shruged not recognizing or having a idea how to operate it.
They packed some of Candlemon fruits in his school bag and set out in the woods. Mirko decide if he end up staying longer than a day in here to throw out his textbooks. They were kinda just dead weight. It would mean having more room to carry more useful stuff while searching for a way home. If he stays longer than a day... he will miss the dinner with his father. To cheer himself a bit up he thougth the positive would be that he will be skipping the math lessons from his mother...
"Watch where you walk." Candlemon warned just as Mirko deep in thought tripped over a tree root.
"Sorry was thinking."
The little flame shock its head while wax face grinned at Mirko. He was really happy since he mentioned them being friends. When he asked why, the digimon told him that he didnt have any friends to talk to for a while now. Being alone in a civil war... The human couldnt wrap his head around how that must feel. How scary it truly had to be. Being candlemon friend was the most obvious and the easiest decision he made that day. Plus the digimon was nice to him.
"Oh I just remembered!" Mirko stopped and the candle digimon turned around asking excitedly. "What?"
"We have to take a selfie together if we are friends! " Fishing out his phone out he hugged the digimon and grinned in the camera. Much to the digimon confusion. He took the pic and showed it to the other. "See. I bet my friends from the club will not believe it even if they see this pic." It made Candlemon giggle. "You are truly strange. Thats fun!" Mirko laughed at that, being called strange by a speaking candle for taking a selfi was simply absurd. A bit of Mirko hoped that when he gets home he will have the picture still in his phone. As prove that this wasnt all a dream and a way to remember the other.
"If I am strange, you are the king of strange."
The digimon showed him his tongue and jumping ahead. "Come on, Mirko the strange! Half a day has already passed. " Mirko took a breath and started running after the other digimon though the forest.
Renamon
[A Forest Somewhere]
@Light Lord
As Delsin began speaking, Renamon's calm demeanor changed. Her eyes widened, and a look of panic crossed her visage. "W-Wait. Waaaaaait. N-No..." The Digimon's pupils contracted, as she took a few steps back in a stagger. "N-No, I was wrong. I do know what a human is, but they d-do not normally reside in the Digital World."
Unfortunately, she wasn't able to answer his questions in full. "...to answer your question, Digimon use data to Digivolve. I'm... sorry I can't be of much help. I don't know where you came from, but... You're here. You... you're going to wish you weren't here."
Luna Bishop and Dustin Coleman
[Affiliation: ???]
[Somewhere...]
"So... where are we exactly?" Asked Luna, finally having regained her senses for the most part. "Where? Well... I guess it depends on what you mean. If you mean our world, we just call it the Digital World. If you wanna get specific, this is Sector 14, some call it the Ice Age Sector." Answered Dracomon. "Digital World... Sector 14... this is so weird isn't it?" Said Dustin, looking at Luna. "I... guess for you it would be... I don't even know what it would be like in the Human World..." Said Dorumon.
Dracomon continued looking the pair over, until his gaze fell upon the device in Dustin's hand. "Hey, what's that you have there, Dustin?" Asked Dracomon, Dustin looking at the device again. "What, this? To be honest, I don't really know... we both found one and then we ended up here." He said, Dracomon coming closer. "Mind if I see it?" He asked. "Sure, it's just a bunch of programs on there, though..." He said, showing Dracomon the device. Dracomon reached his claw over and touched the device, and suddenly it began to glow. "Uh oh, I hope I didn't break it..." He said, watching it. The screen that was filled with snow suddenly cleared, and the screen showed an image of Dracomon, along with what appeared to be vitals.
"Woah... what did it just do? Luna, see if it does it with yours!" Said Dustin, motioning to Dracomon. "Okay... let's see..." She said, holding out hers. Dracomon touched hers, but nothing happened. "Maybe it was just luck?" Asked Dracomon. Dorumon was curious to see what was going on, and what the devices were, so she cautiously approached. "These look... so familiar..." She said, touching Luna's. Then the device began glowing as well, and the same thing happened with Luna's device as Dustin's, only Dorumon's image appeared. "Did it... connect our data... to the devices?" She asked, looking at the device herself. "I know I've seen them somewhere before... Digital... Device... Digivice?" She said unsuredly. "Where'd you get that from, Dorumon?" Asked Dracomon, Dorumon shaking her head. "I... I'm not sure... I must have heard it somewhere... or something..."
Then everything just went stone cold silent. And out of the silence came loud, thundering footsteps. Dracomon and Dorumon turned, with scared looks on their faces. "Oh no, it's him! We need to hide, now!" He said, pushing Dustin into the nearby bushes. Dorumon followed suit with Luna. They didn't dare speak a word, and even Dustin and Luna knew to keep quiet from the way the Digimon were acting. They watched cautiously as a massive form approached where the just stood, passing along without a single word. Within moments... it had passed.
Mammothmon
[Affiliation: The Digital Army]
[Digital World - Sector 14]
@Ninian @Light Lord
What the humans had just seen was Mammothmon. He was a Perfect Level, known sometimes as an Ultimate by some. He was a Commander in the Digital Army, one of many tasked with being the primary guardian of each sector. He was extremely loyal to Susanoomon, and nothing would sway his opinion. "If Humans do come to this world... we will eliminate them, by Lord Susanoomon's Order." He said to himself as he continued patrolling his sector. He remembered what Susanoomon told him would identify a Human from a Digimon.
"Alphamon and the other traitors sent several small devices into the Human World. These will seek out and bring humans to our world. That is the best way to identify one of the humans, wherever and whenever they do arrive." He held up a hologram of what the devices looked like. "Take care to memorize this image well, for it can be easy to miss... or mistake it for another."
He soon heard voices ahead. He would turn and see a Digimon new to his Sector: Renamon. She claimed neutrality, which he would respect. Not all Digimon had the will to fight, it seemed. But he saw another Digimon, one he did not recognize... wait... what was that he carried... a small device... the same device... Susanoomon had showed him... there was no mistaking it... He quickly approached the two. "Renamon... do you realize how severe the punishment will be for you now? You claimed neutrality... yet now... it seems you conspire with a Human! Explain yourself!" Now Mammothmon isn't the brightest Digimon around, but he is a thick skulled Digimon at that. If he believes something, it's unlikely all the excuses and begging in the Digital World would change his mind.
Delsin Grey
[Digital World - Sector 14]
@Ninian@Shiny Keldeo
The fox's strange reaction to both his question, and recalling of what a human was caused Delsin to shift uncomfortably. Taking a step back and clutching the device in his hand to his chest and developing a disturbed frown. "I already did wish I wasn't here....Your demeanor isn't helping sway that opinion."
I don't know who the hell put me in this...Virtual Reality game or whatever it is, but it isn't funny. It's irritating. I still have that chemistry paper to finish, and I should help Trevor clean up that glass before he ends up hurting himself....Question is, how do I get out of here? These things seem like they're not gonna break character, so if I want any useful help, I need to find some sort of options menu... Looking down at the small radio-like object in his palm, he sighed. Maybe it's one of the apps on this device? This all started after I picked it up, it should be related somehow...
Then, a booming voice echoed out through the trees as the lost human boy tilted his head up to narrow his eyes at the beastly, mammoth-like creature threatening Renamon. Perfect...I assume this is one of the enemies of this game. The last thing I wanna do is die to it and re-spawn in another random area... Looking down at the device again for a second, he looked back up with furrowed brows. ...Especially if this is one of those games where you lose your inventory upon death....Gotta be careful about this.....A speech check maybe?
The dully dressed teenager continued to walk backwards as he addressed the hulking enemy with a deep scowl on his face. The position of his footing suggesting he was prepared to bolt at a moments notice. "Renamon is neutral and that hasn't changed. She's not 'conspiring' with me, I just asked where I was and got my answer. That's all I needed, and I'm not going to bother her, or anyone else again. I'm not taking part in your idiotic war game, and I defiantly don't have time to waste with you. I'm finding my way out of this crazy simulation."
With those strong words said, the teen went back to backing up into the trees, albeit at a faster pace than before. His eyes still trained on the two 'NPCs' before him.
Wessel van de Meer
[Climbing the giant tree]
Wessel had no idea what just happened, some flufball disintegrated the bagworm he was fighting and changed into a blue bipedal dog with boxing gloves. Not wanting the same fate as the giant bug he started the tree as fast as he could. In his hurry he didn't notice he dropped the strange green handled device, nor that the dog didn't even bother following him.
He did hear the animal yelling at him in perfect English just as the strange bagworm had done before. He came to the conclusion that these aliens must have studied Earth for a long time. After a few minutes he finally reached a point where he didn't dare to go any higher and looked around hoping to find some settlement or anything. All he saw was more forest and what looked like a field of snow in the distance.
Wanyamon Gaomon
[Bottom of Minomon's tree]
Gaomon was surprised that the strange and weak rookie level Digimon fled from him after he helped it. "Don't worry I won't attack you, I only went after Minomon because I was close to Digivolving." That wasn't entirely true, but he doubted that the stranger would appreciate an "In-training" Digimon bailing it out so easily.
As his strange acquittance climbed higher it dropped something. Curious Gaomon picked up the small device and it started to glow, then an image of himself appeared on the screen along with some strange numbers. He decided to wait until the weakling would come down so he could give it back and hopefully get an explanation as to what it was.
Renamon
[Digital World - Sector 14 - Forest Biome]
@Light Lord@Shiny Keldeo
Her heart sunk. The moment she verbalized her knowledge of a human presence, he had to show up. I'm... going to die. Well, it's been fun. Well, hah, no... I guess it really hasn't been, huh?
Parting her maw in some futile attempt to explain herself, it was about then that Delsin Grey attempted to speech check his way out of the situation (not that Renamon would have understood what that was, had she known, anyway). Taking a gulp, her jaw hung as he tried to talk his way out of a very, very obviously hopeless situation.
Once he finished she made her way over to him, and patted him on the back in the way a mother or teacher would to an out of line child. "Oh Mammothmon, Delsingreymon here is clearly delusional! And uh... Human? What's... That's..." Pausing for a minute she put a paw to her lips, "Oh, right, Susanoomon wants to kill them right?"
Putting her paws together, she looked over Delsingreymon. "Anyway, Delsingreymon hit his head, and thinks this is all a dream. I was very kindly trying to insist upon the fact that it is not a dream, and that he needs to be more careful." Gesturing around she smiled, "You know, there's dangerous Digimon around here. Which is actually why I was going to try and find a place to stay, I'm new here and all. If you're familiar with the area you should really show us somewhere safe to stay. Preferably somewhere warmer."
Flashing her warmest, non-terrified smile she looked up at Mammothmon, "It would mean so much to me."
Delsin Grey
[Digital World - Sector 14]
@Ninian@Shiny Keldeo
The cautious and extremely werided out young man froze up when he felt the paw touch his back. His face twisting uncomfortably as he looked away at the trees. What is she doing?....Is she....Trying to help cover for me?....Wow. Her AI must be extremely complex...And it's weird I...actually feel her hand, er, paw,..on my back?....I'll try to play along, but I don't know if we'll be able to pull this off....Especially if that mammoth wants me dead with no provocation.
In order to play along with the attempted ploy, Delsin assumed a much more relaxed stance and went to rub at the forming goose egg on his head and wear a pained wince on his face. "Right...I-I haven't been able to really...think straight ever since I got attacked..." Holding out the grey and white device, he pretended to look at it with a mix of confusion and disgust. "I found this little thing on the ground in the woods, and when I picked it up, I got hit in the head by some sort of weird Digimon I didn't recognize...Maybe one of those humans Susanoomon is hunting? I don't know, but they really cared about this thing. When I tried saying sorry and giving it back, they just kept trying to hurt me. S-So I ran off in a daze, and managed to meet up with Renamon...Luckily."
Dropping the tiny device on the ground near his feet gently, he sighed and hung his head. "I think that 'human' thing is still running around attacking other Digimon. So a safe place to stay would be nice, until I can think clearly."
.....Please let this work. Carrick said that using speech checks in open world RPGs like this usually works pretty well...
