There are plenty of examples of Commissars executing members of other military branches (like various PDF's) in disciplinary matters in the fluff of 40K. And you forget that Frateris Militia are technically civilians.

2) "The existence of the Frateris Militia is tolerated due to the fact that they have no formal connection to the Ecclesiarchy: they are no more than faithful Imperial citizens eager to prove their dedication to the Imperial Cult."

3) Thus, based on your own reasoning, John is totally subject to the authority of a Commissar.

I) They are of the Officio Prefectus. Your interpretation of that quote is incorrect. While the Commissars attached to the Militarum Tempestus are part of it, those attached to the Guard have no relation to the Militarum Tempestus.

II) they have no official relation but a Ministorum Priest can still hack your head off if you kill a member of the Militia, and make up a bullshit excuse, and in theory the Ecclessiarchy is the most powerful organization, so the Priest will always be right.

III) no he is not

@Andreyich the rp is following a newly made regiment of imperial guard not some rabble mob the ecclisarchy threw together to fight some battles. Your character would not accompany said regiment on their new adeventures if he was not recruited into the regiment. Also Inquisition is most powerful of all and they stand apart from everyone.

@Andreyich I) the rp is following a newly made regiment of imperial guard not some rabble mob the ecclisarchy threw together to fight some battles. Your character would not accompany said regiment on their new adeventures if he was not recruited into the regiment. II) Also Inquisition is most powerful of all and they stand apart from everyone.

1) I meant at that moment in time, since that was a flawed argument to use at that moment.

2) There is no actual proof of this, even with the madness of Van Dire. The Eclessiarchy controls the Imperium as a whole, it's doctrine,

@Andreyich technically a inquisitor could exterminatus a shrine world if he felt the need and not have to get permission from the ecclisiarchy. Inquisitors really answer only to themselves

You have a single civilian with a gun. Whom can't authorize any connection to the Ecclessiarchy - else its BLAM to the nearest Priest who allowed it. Since Men under Arms is HERESY!

The Ordo Hereticus has been charged with watching over the Ecclessiarchy - and they can easily BLAM or EXTERMINATUS any planet they wish. Look at the War of Disbelief, if you don't believe it.

And look at the Imperium as a whole. Do you think, any trigger happy civilian would be wagered over a Imperial Guardsman? As easily as some Priest can make-up a story - said IGs can easily make-up a story of you spouting HERESY and a Commisar BLAMing you for it.

And then its a Commisar + the IGs + all their arnaments vs your priest with his chainsword. I am wagering of the Imperial Guardsmen here - since they aren't the Emperor' Hammer for nothing.

Yeah, then be excommunicated and killed by his Brother Inquisitors, or simply the Sororitas.

1) the Priest can still defend the man.

2) Well it has not been invoked, has it? Yup, it has not.

3) no but the Frateris Militia has it's own military grade gear and sometimes even has ancestral archaeotech because random people dig up family heirlooms and such for it. Plus, lower Priests and Preachers are generally held above even Lord Commissars in some cases.

4) It's not a one man army, there is a fuckton of more Frateris Militia members. She pulled the gun on me, I'm getting people to screw off, I've got the plausible deniability here.

@Andreyich Regardless of the actual authority of the Commissariat, the Astra Militarum, The ecclesiarchy or whatever, you are forgetting one thing.

On this world, right now, ravaged by war, the Imperial Guard Hold sway. And, you are one member on the Frateris Militia, a non affiliated civilian defense group. Currently, the world is under Imperial Marrtial law. The Ecclesiarchy will not start a civil war because a Commissar executed a single Frateris militia who was A) Likely drunk, and B) actively threatening Imperial guard officers.

I am putting an end to this arguement right now.

It is over. Do not bring it up again in this OOC. If you must continue, squabble in the PMS
