| In Depth Appearance |
Min-soo would look pretty average if he worked less hard on being a tough guy. He definitely tries in that regard, both in how he dresses (hoodies, caps, street-fashion) and how he walks and talks. Some of it comes natural to someone like him, and other stuff was learned. Never the less, it does mean he comes across as generally quite the 'thug' if one were to label him as anything. In that regard he never had any trouble fitting into the Delphina college.

As far as his face and body go, there's nothing extremely out of place there, hence why it could be said he'd look average if he didn't act so tough. Apart from a rather corny tattoo on his knuckles, that reads 'scholar'. If you can count, that is a 7 letter word, while there are 4 knuckles on each hand, not counting the thumb (where you don't tattoo for these type of tattoo's). On the last knuckle the character rú is tattooed to complete the tattoo.



The tattoo certainly does complete his 'bad boy' look, but it does not hold any meaning. It's just a reference to Min-soo's religious roots in Confucianism, which arguably he is not doing a good job at maintaining. Au contraire, he is not much of a scholar. His parents would call him a disgrace and disown him if they knew he had tattoos, as they are illegal in Korea.

He also has small burn marks (kind of old, healed, but still visible) on his palms. The reason will be explained in the history (duh).

Body wise he is quite well trained, though he is no body builder by any means. Specifically his upper body is toned, with some small definition in his abdomen and chest, showing the presence of his muscles. If he were to train a bit harder he'd get a sixpack, no doubt (and that's the goal, isn't it?). His arms are a bit further ahead, showing slightly more muscle growth, but again, not to the point of being overly muscly. If you had to summarize it, he just looks like someone that does a lot of physical work.

Stand-offish at best and outright hostile at best, Min-soo is something of a wild card when it comes to social interaction. He has a tendency to mingle in a quite hostile manner, and is vocal when he doesn't like something. Never the less, he can be nice to those he holds closely to himself if only out of self-preservation. And true to the Delphina standard of working their students to be the 'best they can be for themselves and themselves only' Min-soo is quite good at that. As mentioned before, he does what he wants, takes what he wants, and generally finds it quite acceptable to serve himself.

Although he is not very ambitious, he is certainly capable of taking advantage of others because he knows they will do the same to him. Similarly, if a situation presents itself where he can take advantage and elevate himself (whether that is for social standing, prestige or financial gains, or any other miscellaneous gain) he will possibly take it. For example, conflict is a situation where he could be of relative importance.

To friends, Min-soo is loyal and will defend them physically and verbally. Since he is not above acknowledging other peoples' superiority at times, he will also be loyal to his 'superiors' if need be. But they'll need to somehow prove this superiority to him. (No that's not code word for 'I'm edgy and you have to fight me' as it'll probably relate to leadership capabilities or just social reading skills, or persuasion.).

Min-soo is also honest, too much perhaps, and will generally say what he thinks. He's not an exceptionally smart guy however, so don't expect him to lecture you on the workings of physics. Expect something along the lines of 'Man, your sense of style is fucking shit. Read a fashion magazine, you moron,' or something like that. Uh, yes, we never said he wasn't insulting too.

The power is obviously dependent on pain, so any type of power or combat that does not evoke pain (physical or emotional) is not going to trigger anything in relation to this power and, in turn, returns him to his 24/7 state of being 'regular Min-soo'.

Another limitation is being dead. Can't draw on a power if someone takes you out in 1 shot.

Although this is listed in the above segment as being something he can push through (namely broken bones) that does not mean he can keep going endlessly. Break enough bones and, as with most people, he'll be unable to get up anymore even with raw strength.

Myeong Bin-seong, brother, 13, highschool student, no known powers. Considered a troublemaker, he has already had numerous run ins with the police. His parents suspect he is part of a youth gang, and frequently ask Min-soo for help. One of the reasons Min-soo fears failing college, or otherwise getting into trouble as that might prevent him from helping his family.

| History |
His father was just a factory worker when he was born, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom after she got pregnant, working in the family corner store before that. When Min-soo was born, it was basically a sign that she would have to 'retire' and that his father would have to start working overtime almost every day. It was a poor existence and they lived in a very poor neighborhood. As a result of a lack of money, Min-soo went to a lackluster school too. By then, his sister was born. A few months after enrolling in primary school, a second sister was born. The workload for his father increased and he took on a second job, as well as applying for government benefits.

They moved into an even cheaper apartment with barely enough room, somehow getting by week to week, turning over every penny they could. It came close to eviction a couple of times, especially when a new brother was also born. This kept on for most of his early childhood and the first few years of him being a teenager.

At the ripe age of 14 he got involved with some shadier people, and spent long nights away from home. His parents were fed up with it, but didn't quite know what to do. There was no way to stop him from hanging out with these people that were a few years his senior. He didn't listen, punishing him made him only more angry and threatening to send him away didn't help either.

That was, until an accident occurred near school. During one of the few days that he did not skip and spend hanging out with the 'cool older guys that did illegal stuff', he was walking to school and got hit by a car. Despite breaking his legs, he somehow managed to summon the strength to lift the car up slightly and pull himself out from underneath it. Uh, yes, that was at age 14. That was the first showing of his powers. Though the police originally did away with it as a strange occurrence, but video footage of it went viral after a shop clerk from a store nearby uploaded the footage to YouTube.

A few months later a strange envelope landed on the doormat, and Min-soo was forced to translate it for his parents (whom did not know English). It was an invite to Delphina College. Though he was still sort of young, he got invited there once he was out of high school.

This was a bit of a driving factor for him. He started doing better in school and generally improved his attitude. Seemingly he had a future now. His parents were happy he stopped hanging out with shady people (though admittedly the effects of hanging with them had already taken place in him) and he could help provide later on.

During this time he also took up a job, saving for the future (which was not something anyone expected from Min-soo since he was someone that would get money and spend it on the same day, because he wasn't used to having money nor having things to spend it on). He worked numerous jobs, starting as a paperboy, then working at his grandfathers' cornerstore, and then he briefly worked one year aboard a fishing boat. He spent long periods of time aboard the ship, and then spent a few weeks at home before setting out again. It was hard work, backbreaking even, but it made him tough and taught him to work hard.

It was also during that time he began to understand his powers better, learning from practice and trial and error, rather than by being taught in it.

Some time later, Min-soo arrived by plane in America. Affording the ticket had been.. a challenge, but it was managed somehow. Min-soo expected that his father took a small loan from a loanshark for it, but he decided not to ask questions. He got a cab to the college, which took for ever and cost a fortune, but luckily Min-soo had been prepared and brought a bunch of money from the time he had spent working in Korea.

Things seemed to be going decent for him - he had studied a lot of English and slowly adapted to slang too, though his accent didn't quite fade. Not yet, anyway. At least, things were decent until the fire.

Min-soo was trapped in the dorm that time, and a beam had fallen in front of his door. After about 15 minutes or so deciding on what to do, he decided that if he stuck around any longer the fire would get him, or otherwise the smoke would. He prepared himself mentally, which wasn't a hard task for fearless Min-soo, and grabbed the beam, lifting it rapidly. It was then he came to terms with the fact that perhaps fearlessness wasn't a good thing. He could not lift the beam originally, but his hands burned heavily and, drawing on his power, he gained the strength to lift the beam after all.

But he swore never to get close to fire again. That hurt. He escaped, narrowly, almost passing out from inhaling the smoke. He felt woozy from the smoke, and his hands hurt, but the ambulance made sure to treat him for both those things. His hands healed fast but a lasting mark was to be expected.

He did not lose anyone or anything important there, since he was still quite new at that time. Never the less it was quite the experience and like so many others he found a good reason to find fault in the Mayweather school. It was for that reason that he dreaded taking up classes in the Mayweather school.. it was like being in the home of the very people that had burned down his school.
