"Oh my! Don't you look tired, honey! Why don't you come in and relax?" <3
~Claudia DeFeren~
Full Name: Claudia Lucille Amelie DeFeren
Age: 32 Years Old
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance:Claudia's a beauty to behold, the Rose of the City. That's what many of the soldiers, drunkards, and strapping young lads who frequent her tavern will tell you. It's just too bad she's not interested in any of those men. Claudia has a very voluptuous figure, round, curvy hips and quite an ample bust she proudly displays. Her long shimmering red hair, as smooth as silk, flows gracefully over her round shoulders and down her backside past her rump. She tends to wear it down alot too, only on occasions pinning it up in a sloppy bun. Her rosy cheeks and ruby red lips glow against her creamy white complexion, as do her sapphire blue eyes sparkle with a lust for life. Indeed, she is a beauty to behold.
Mostly, you will find Claudia during the day dressed in her simple
tavern maid attire, either behind the bar serving drinks to her loyal customers or out and about the town on her days she chooses to take a break from working. At night, she loves to curl up in a nice cotton nightgown and shawl, enjoying a good book by the lantern light before going to bed, though it is said she sleeps without pajamas.
Backstory:Not much is known of Claudia's past, since the woman tends to be very hush hush about it. Claudia and her family lived in a faraway nation called Karstberg. Her father was a mercenary who roamed from country to country looking for work. He soon met Claudia's mother, a prostitute in one of Karstberg's many sordid bordellos, and fell in love with her. He managed to work enough to pay for the woman's freedom, and in four short years they were married. Claudia's mother gave birth to her a year after the marriage, but sadly...she passed away.
Claudia's father was grief stricken losing his beloved wife. He decided to roam again, leaving Claudia in the care of her aunt, a brothel madame and a nefariously cruel one at that. Claudia's father never returned...
By the time she was fourteen, her aunt already had her working in the brothel, mostly cleaning the rooms and whatnot. If she didn't clean well, she was beaten. It wasn't until one night her aunt secretly made a deal to hand young Claudia over to a wealthy aristocrat who had a
special liking toward younger women...much younger women... The naive young girl had no idea how to please a man like the other women. She was frightened, fearing if she didn't do so well, she would face the wrath of her terrible aunt. There was also the fact she...didn't really like men so much, seeing as most who frequented the brothels were only after one thing. This disgusted Claudia more than anything.
In her trying time, she found comfort in the arms of another woman, Celine, the favored courtesan of the brothel. Celine was a beautiful woman, at least to Claudia she was. Celine would protect her from any men who tried to grab Claudia and take her away thinking she was up for sale. Claudia also would sleep in Celine's bed, sometimes the two snuggling together. They had a very close friendship, a loving bond that grew stronger as time went on. Eventually, that bond grew into something more.
One night after Claudia had to serve a particularly rough client, she came to Celine's room crying, her dress in tatters, covered head to toe in bruises. Celine felt sympathy for the poor girl and took her into her arms. Later, she bathed Claudia and cleaned her wounds. It was then Claudia sensed something in the rose colored eyes of her dear friend, a longing, a deep, insatiable yearning. She grabbed the young girl and kissed her deeply on the lips. Claudia was frightened at first, no idea as to what Celine was doing. Nevertheless, she slowly began to enjoy the kiss. Celine took Claudia to her bed that night. There, their passions unbridled sparked a flame and deeply in love they fell with each other. Celine vowed she would take Claudia away from the brothel and they would start a new life together.
Little did Claudia know, Celine already had a plan underway.
Using two flintlock pistols Celine smuggled with the help of one of her clients, the two women broke into the madame's room and robbed the old hag at gunpoint. They made off with the spoils of their victory, stealing a carriage and riding far from Karstberg until they reached the city of Velorio.
The two had quite a bit of money from the robbery, but knew they couldn't live off it alone. They needed to find work somewhere, as long as it wasn't a damn brothel. They stumbled into a rundown tavern after not much luck finding a job. They didn't have the experience to serve in the military, and gods damn them if they were ever gonna be whores again. The tavern, the Scarlet Carson, was owned by an old man. He offered the women a free room to stay in, only if they would help tidy the place up for him.
It took years of hard work, but Claudia and Celine brought the lowly tavern back to its former glory. Before they knew it, the tavern was sprawling with customers all over. Patrons would come far and wide to enjoy fresh, homebrewed ales, largers, wines, mead, and spirits, while feasting on hearty meals and singing and dancing merrily. Of course, it helped that the Scarlet Carson had two of the most beautiful barmaidens in the city. Claudia and Celine loved their job, and the old man loved how much business they were bringing in.
Years later, the old man passed away. In his will, he left the Scarlet Carson to his two favorite women. Claudia and Celine were saddened by his loss, but kept the place running in good spirits.
Then...tragedy struck again...
While they were out buying food from the market, Celine was accused by a wealthy aristocrat, a high ranking official of Parliament, of stealing his prized diamond ring. The authorities searched Celine; sure enough, the ring was on her. Claudia and Celine pleaded she didn't steal it, that she was framed. The man didn't listen and ordered Celine to be executed. Celine was dragged away from Claudia and taken to the midst of the town square, to the gallows.
Claudia had never cried so much in her life. Her beloved was gone...snatched away from her by a cruel twist of fate. And just who was to blame?
Why those damn pompous, rich, arrogant bastards of the Parliament of course!
Claudia had only sat idly by watching the rich flex their muscles and trample the poor and the downtrodden into the dirt. Her heart filled with disgust, seeing families scrounge all they could for their next meal while those fat cats in Parliament feasted sumptuously and hoarded their wealth away from those who desperately needed it.
And now, they had taken away her beloved Celine...
Claudia continued to run the Scarlet Carson, giving out meals to the poor and offering them a place to stay from the cold winters and harsh summers. The tavern also took on another role over the years, as the meeting place of several resistance members, some of which Claudia knew personally. She had been accused many times by Parliament of housing wanted rebel fugitives, and she can't begin to recall how many times those damned Enforcers ransacked the place, only leaving a mess for her to clean.
One thing was for certain, she wasn't going to let the rich abuse the poor any longer. She would stand with the Rebels till the very end.
Weapons: Claudia tends to be a woman of peace, but that doesn't mean she won't take up arms if necessary, especially if you start trouble in her tavern. Claudia isn't too versed in the ways of firearms and close quarters combat, but she keeps a special gilded flintlock pistol behind the bar, just in case one of the drunkards get a little too rowdy or the Governor's men decide to pop in without warning. In fact, she's kept a special musket ball in her jewelry box with a message tied to it:
To the Governor, with love, from Claudia and Celine.Personality:Claudia is a very jovial and carefree woman. She loves to laugh, drink, dance, sing, and flirt, especially with other women. She has a vibrant personality that seems to charm everyone around her and lift their spirits, but if you cross her, she can be quite the fire storm. Claudia doesn't put up with fights in her tavern or rowdy drunks, and she's not afraid to pick you up herself and throw you out the door. That said, she doesn't mind what you do, as long as you're not out to cause trouble or cause anyone harm.
The woman detests highly of men, especially those who are misogynistic and abuse women in any way. If she catches any man being cruel to a woman, regardless of stature, she will give them quite a tongue lashing, after she bashes the chauvinist pig with her tankard. And she equally despises the Parliament, calling them pompous, cold hearted son of a bitches. She hates seeing the rich trample the poor and always she will open her heart to the poor, aiding them in whatever way she can. For the time being, she has been giving them free meals and free boarding, since most of her profits come from the alcohol and...a few shady benefactors courtesy of the Rebels.
And when she finds a cause, you can damn well guarantee Claudia will stick to it tooth and nail.
Despite her sordid past as a prostitute and her traumatic ordeal with a few nefarious clients, Claudia still enjoys sex, and she won't waste a minute trying to get a beautiful woman in bed with her when she lays eyes on them. This has sometimes led to humorous situations.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=YToXBn1fiHsAs you walk in through the door, shaking off the cold of winter or wiping away the sweat of summer's heat, the lovely barmaiden greets you with a wink and a smile raising her tankard of bubbling cider. The atmosphere is warm, lively and welcoming. Music plays, tankards and mugs clink, and people dance and sing. Old men sit at their table sharing many a tale and a few bawdy jokes. Ladies giggle blushing at Miss Claudia telling them what pretty eyes they have with a lurid smirk. Before you know it, one of them is wrapped around Claudia's arm, soon to be her company for the night. In the far corner of the tavern, the Rebels sit plotting their next move against the Parliament and their bastard governor. Claudia brings them their ale and plates of roasted lamb and mutton, often times a secret note slipped in.
The warm hearth crackles pleasantly bathing the room in a soft amber light. The scent of pine and cedar wafts amidst the smell of honey mead, fresh baked breads and roasted meats. You sit at the bar sighing, your stomach growling. You frown feeling the pit of emptiness in your wallet. Suddenly, a bowl of piping hot beef stew and a loaf of fresh baked bred is slid to you. You look up to see Claudia smiling, the face of an angel. "Here, sweetie. On the house." She says with a sly wink and a cheerful giggle. You smile and take your first bite.
As the hearty stew warms your heart and soul, you look around at all the people, smiling, laughing, enjoying themselves. The cruelty of the outside world fades away into nothing. For once, you feel safe. You feel...at home.
