She bit back a screech as the bullets came in contact with her skin. Étoiles nearly fell backwards trying not to put too much pressure on the bleeding foot. Still, she held her ground through the unbearable pain; the guilt would be worse if she gave her side away. Her lip began to bleed with how hard she was biting it as the two conversed. "I will not answer..." She muttered, trying to convince herself of the words. "I will not answer... I will not answer..." Her eyes began to glaze over in pain when she realized a sword would be used for torture instead of the flintlocks. Oh, the Rebellion definitely owes me one if I survive this...

"Thank you Governor Samuel," Gaz says with a slight bow before smiling at the pain of the rebel. "Damn, you brutes are stubborn and violent aren't you?" He moves his sword so that it's pointing at her while inches from her face. Despite not being able really use it there is a very good intimidation factor to a blade in the face. "Now don't be an imbecile, tell us where they are. I promise I'll go easy on you if you do."

Étoiles glared at the blade in her face, but said nothing about it. The only thing she did right then was think. They'll get too tired and bored of me sooner or later... I just have to stay strong... "I will not answer," she whispered under her breath, preparing herself once again for the oncoming pain. "I will not answer... To people such as the Parliament... I will not cave... I will not give them away..." She looked into the eyes of Gaza, eyes emotionless and blank. Try me.

"You have a lot of pride for some worthless rebel..." Gaz uses the hilt of his sword and hits the girl in the side of her face. "People such as us? You're talking like we're the bad guys here. It seems you are more ignorant than you look." He continued glaring down at the girl in front of him, trying to intimidate her.

The blow sent Étoiles' head reeling to the side and caused her to apply pressure on the injured foot. She cursed under her breath. Keeping this up was getting harder and harder to do. What's so wrong with giving in? They won't stop pestering me about it until I do... But at the thought she physically shook her head, ignoring the angry eyes of Gaz. "If I'm so worthless, why don't you just kill me?" Her voice became lowered and dark, spitting blood after the sentence. She didn't want to die, really. But she knew they would let her live long enough to give them information.

"Because as much as I hate what your people have done to me, I am under orders to get information from you..." Gaz growled out his words. Looking at the girl, he almost started to feel bad. Well it was more like a feeling of pity but it soon passed. "I will give you the credit of being quite strong. If only you worked with us... but you chose to work with those heathens instead."

Étoiles smirked at him, despite everything she was going through. "Strong?" She shook her head. "Maybe so, but I am just a mere soldier." She tilted her head at his comment. Her? Joining the Parliament? She frowned. "You think my people have wronged you? I was a goddamned slave. Slaves are people, too, but your people seem to think otherwise..." She looked at the ground. Then, trying to ease her tension, she laughed at the three. "Your kind is very merciless, I see... I'll note that down if I survive this..."

Volas quietly hummed as he glanced into the room the others were in. "That is not pretty." He thought as he pulled out one of his flintlocks. In the stupidity of the moment, he leaned over before taking aim at the one currently torturing his comrade, firing at the hand with the sword. Shortly after he fired, he retreated back to the shadows and waited for someone to follow or demand things such as him to come out or they will kill his ally.

All in all, not his smartest plan. Mostly because he is over here without any help.

"I never said I approved of slavery..." Gaz said, a grim expression covering his face as memories of his past started coming back to him. "But I can never forgive what your people did to me. And for that reason, I fight. And I will enjoy inflicting even a portion of the suffering the rebels have caused me." He points the sword at the girls face again. "Now, tell me what I want to know." Unfortunately as he did that a bullet hit his hand, causing him to drop his sword and reel back in pain.

Étoiles was about to him, when a miracle happened. A bullet had shot Gaz's hand. Where from? She wondered this as she turned around, seeing nothing. But she shook her head. Now was her chance. "Oh, look. Backup. Glad you made it in time." Though she didn't know who it was, she could tell it was an ally. Alright... Just go on over... She attempted to limp over to the shadows but fell before she got too close. Pain went through her as she landed on a burned arm, causing her to curse under her breath.

"I can't allow you to get away. Sorry." Samuel strode over to the girl and shoved his sabre through her arm and straight into the ground, pinning her. He drew his two flintlocks. "Come now. If you were foolish enough to shoot once you once more, yes? He aimed at the door, and gave a signal to his Enforcers. They stood by the two sides of the entrance, but two stayed behind to watch the prisoner. Samuel adjusted his trench coat. "And where did you get those flintlocks? Unless you're a deserter?"

Vanessa just stood back and observed the men doing their things while looking after the scythe. Suddenly, she heard a gunshot coming from the entrance and saw Gaz getting shot on his hand. She turned towards the entrance the gun was fired but saw no one, she was caught off guard by the shot but she was unfazed. She knew there was no backup, at least not one with a significant number of Rebels or else they would've rushed in.

The Enforcers were in position by the door, likewise the assailant was probably outside, waiting to ambush whoever exits the building to confront him. Now they have to play the waiting game, for whoever moves first loses. Vanessa handed the scythe to a nearby Enforcer and unsheathed her own sword. "Whoever is out there, back off. Assaulting an Enforcer is a criminal offence, but luckily for you we have more pressing matters right now. Leave, and we'll spare you this time." demanded Vanessa.

Not waiting for a reply, Vanessa climbed up the building and peered through a window, hoping to get a better view of the whole scenario. She could barely make out a lone figure hiding in the shadows, it had to be the assailant.

Volas frowned at the replies of both the governor and what he assumed to be the captain. It truly hurt him that the governor thought he was a deserter when Enforcers have been looted in the past. As for the captain? It was more hurtful for assuming he was an idiot. He knew for a fact that they wouldn't spare him, experience from the past has taught him that better than anything else.

If it wasn't for the fact that one of his allies was in the building, he'd probably have blocked the entrance and burned it down. Then again, he probably still would do that either way if he had a way to torch the warehouse and time to block ways out. He glanced at the entrance as he reloaded the flintlock he had out already and took a quick look around before slowly backing away from the door, keeping himself in the shadows so they would have an even harder time finding him if they hadn't already.

Étoiles let out a small yell of pain, biting her lip as pain consumed her arms. Well, this wasn't going as she had planned a minute or two ago. She turned her head to where the Enforcerers had gathered by the door. She squirmed a little and growled. Great... He's going to die, too... Bloodloss was making her eyesight a bit blurry and she struggled to maintain consciousness. "L-Leave me... Y-You can at least save yourself from these basterd." Blue eyes looked pleadingly at the shadows as if looking for the man. She wanted help. She needed help. But she would live with the guilt of his demise for the rest of her life.

Gaz did not even think twice about cutting off a portion of his own coat and start wrapping it around his own hand as a makeshift bandage. He preferred to stop the bleeding now rather than end up like the rebel girl he was just dealing with. That's when he noticed her current state on the ground near him. "Damn," he muttered to himself. "I'm supposed to keep her alive for interrogation." He moved over and kneeled beside her, first off removing the sword from her arm and using more fabric from his coat to try and suppress the bleeding and was confident in his strength to keep her in check. "You're lucky I've been ordered to keep you alive or I would have just let you bleed to death," the somewhat angry enforcer said with a growl.

Vanessa went back down the building to report her findings to Samuel, "Sir, there appears to be only one person behind the attack, he or she is well hidden in the shadows but it's nothing a volley of musket fire can't solve. The windows will provide good view." Vanessa awaited the Governor's orders.

The tavern was quiet this time of night, no tankards clinking, songs singing, nothing but the subtle crackling of the hearth's flame.

Claudia stood behind the bar, softly humming to herself as she wiped down a few empty mugs and tankards and set them back. Not a soul around but her as her tired blue eyes looked around surveying the empty tables and chairs. At least earlier it was festive as always, but alas, she didn't like that feeling, loneliness. When she was alone, she thought. When she thought, she remembered. And when she remembered, she...

Cut it out!

She gave herself a mental slap on the wrist, resuming her lovely singing to herself while she wiped down the counter.

The door swung open suddenly, catching the woman offguard. She gasped, her eyes dilated at the sight of the man beaten and drenched in blood. He stood in the doorway panting, shivering, his eyes full of fear.

"Collin! Good lord!" Claudia looked at the man worried. "What happened to you? Where are the others?"

"It...it was the Enforcers!" Collin shakily answered. "They ambushed us! They...they killed everyone, Claudia!"

Claudia gasped, her heart sinking in her chest. The fools, she warned them not to get so cocky, now Brian, Joseph, and Levi...such fine young men...they were all dead, so was... No! She couldn't be!

"What about Etoiles?!" Claudia grabbed the boy by his shoulders, practically shaking him. "Please Collin, tell me she is okay!"

"She is!" Collin gulped. "But the Governor has her! They're torturing her right now, Claudia! We have to stop them!"

Thank the gods Etoiles was alive, but the news was even grimmer than Claudia expected. "Let's hurry then!" She broke away from Collin and grabbed the small pistol from behind the bar, cocking back the hammer. "I'm not much of a fighter, so you will have to cover me, boy. Can you still fight?" She asked Collin while reaching for her red shawl and throwing it over her shoulders.

"Y-yes ma'am!" Collin quickly nodded.

"Good." Said Claudia already running out the door into the foggy city streets. "Now make haste!"

Collin followed behind the woman clutching his rifle tight. Claudia, she may not have the skill of a fighter, but she damn well had the spirit. You could just see the fire blazing in her eyes.

Not long, the two had arrived. "I'll cover you from the hill." Collin whispered overlooking the warehouse. The Governor's Enforcers were swarming the place. Claudia was either brave...or drunk to think she could just mosey up to the pompous bastard. "Are you sure he will listen to you, ma'am?"

"If he doesn't...then shoot him, Collin. At least I'll die happy knowing he'll be in Hell." Claudia stated grimly. Down the hill she went towards the warehouse, emerging from the black shadows into the pale light of the moon. The cold chill of steel against her bare thigh, it was a gentle assurance from the flintlock tucked in her garter.

Boldy she stepped out front of the warehouse, calling out, "Let the girl go you bastards!"

Étoiles cursed under her breath as the sword was suddenly pulled out of her arm. She looked at Gaz, the man that had been toturing her along with the captain and governor. Her eyes gleamed with clouded shock, but she did not push him away, for she had no strength left to muster. "Tearing that fancy jacket of yours, huh...?" She nodded towards him, taking a deep breath. "This will probably be the one and only time I want to take help from an Enforcer, or even someone of the Parliament.

Her eyes flicked over to the door that was now open. 'Let the girl go'? She gasped softly. Another ally. Thank the gods... Reinforcements... She looked at Gaz for a moment, not bothering to waste her time with struggling as he wrapped up her wound. "T-Too bad you guys have lost this time..." She looked over at Claudia confidently.

Claudia saw the girl through the open doorway, a sight that made her blood run cold. Her Etoiles, the poor, sweet girl, what had those monsters done to her? She had thought the men she served back in the brothel were savage, but this...it took all she had not to yank the pistol from her garter and put a bullet between that smug bastard's eyes. Claudia, she seethed with anger seeing the grievous wounds upon Etoiles. Those would need healing fast, of course after the woman got done scolding the reckless beauty.

"I don't want any trouble, governor! Hand her over and we shall go!" Claudia stood firm, even as the Governor's men drew down on her. Her fists were clenched to her sides, her eyes ablaze with fury. She smirked. "You've made your show of power here, dear governor, but don't you think you're overcompensating a little?" That last scoff was dripping with venom.

Samuel laughed. "Ah, but we haven't. We now know the identities of some of your minor leaders. Some others have interrogated the worst cowards in your midst, more so then you all. We have entered their homes and assassinated them." He holstered his flintlocks and sheathed his sabre. He picked up the scythe. "Not to mention we have this. Alright, I think our job is done. Fall back, men." He drew a strange contraption made by some inventors supporting the Parliament, a grappling hook. He pulled the trigger, aimed at the windows. He broke through the windows, and jumped onto the nearest rooftop. He looked back to make sure the others were here, then called for the transport airships to take them back to the Chancellor. The mission was a success.
