I have been RolePlaying for a little over four years now. I got my start on a website called Quotev, where I still do most of my RolePlays to this day. However, my RolePlay preferences then versus now have changed drastically ^^" To contrast, I've been writing as a hobby for around nine years, so when I discovered RolePlaying, I was very excited and became addicted almost immediately.
As for my preferences, my favorite genre is Romanticized Medieval Fantasy. I say 'romanticized' not meaning Romance in this case (although I do like Romance at times) but because many Fantasy writers -- myself included -- tend to take bits and pieces from past cultures (and even some fictional attributes) that seem 'cool' or just relatively enjoyable, smush them all together, and then call them 'Medieval Times.' I'm not complaining or anything, as sometimes this process is necessary. Enough with that, though.
I prefer doing RolePlays with only one partner. I've tried doing group RolePlays many a time, and it just never really works out. I'm a very 'busy' person, mostly with school extra-curricular and whatnot, and so I can barely keep up with one reply a day. However, that doesn't stop me from trying to join new, interesting RolePlays that look totally awesome.
I say I prefer Casual RolePlays, but really that's only because I want to avoid conflict. As a Fantasy writer, I do love creating complex, fascinating worlds with an intricate story and lore that stretches back millennia, but when it comes to RolePlaying, I may or may not be in the mood to create all those intricate things. Things like that take time, and, like everyone, my ability to create that complex information fluctuates. Sometimes I just want to have fun and control a character who likes to be silly. Sometimes I want to be drowned in rich content. However, I don't want to be pressured by my partner to create dynamic posts every single time I reply. I'm psychoanalyzing myself way too much in this. Moving on.
I refer to myself as a jack of all trades (master of none). I love to write, draw, paint, act, sing, dance, play instruments, cook food, play multiple sports, play video games, randomly research things, etc. I have a lot of random hobbies and interests that take up a lot of my time, and honestly I need to sort out my priorities because they take up a bit too much of my time.
Anyway, I think I covered everything in the guideline thingy, and then some, so I'm going to stop now. Goodbye!
