EDIT: Is this game still holding everyone's interest? I only ask because there's only two posts since my last. I'm not gonna @ tag everyone and be a nag [wouldn't notify anyone in an edit anyway], but if this one burned out we can call it.
~KL~
I am burned out, but not on the game. I feel like Atom may have been a mistake in hindsight. Robots aren't usually my kind of thing, and while I thought I could Atom an exception to that rule, instead it seems I have failed. I mean, you know what my usual jam is (Magic or traditional Metahuman) and I wonder if I would have been better off sticking with that? I seem to remember pointing out a while back that I missed a grand opportunity to play as Zoom... maybe I should have gone that route?
If so, thinking about Doctor Strange type character maybe, or Earth's Shaman (like in The Authority).
Not sure if I'm gonna continue to move forward with this one or not, but if we decide to keep going a Doc Strange esque character could be cool.

I had the same problem every time I've tried RP'ing a robot.
For me to get to a point where we could move forward, especially now, I'd have to shit or get off the pot when it comes to the underground bunker beneath the community center. As is we're still a bunch of unorganized supers in the middle of a war with Nazi's in one of the largest cities in America. I'd likely have to write off Mysterio, Atom would presumably be out if D switches it up, and all that's left of the 'team' would be Fission and Aegis as well as Vulkan's Adam. If I've gotta do that much I may drop Torch in favor of somebody new as well if we do move forward. I just took the lack of IC posts as everyone being burned out...
@The Kid Lantern At least Atom's in a position where you don't have to really do anything to write him out. Last time we addressed him he was guarding the knocked out Baroness and waiting for a pickup. So writing him out from there should be pretty simple.
Legacy: Reverse-Flash
WW II Predecessor: The Rival
Name: Hunter Zolomon
Alias: Zoom
Relationship to Predecessor: Distant relative
Age: 28
Powers/Skills/Equipment: Hunter is connected to the speed force, allowing him access to the powers of a speedster and all the other benefits and drawbacks involved. While most speed force conduits have their own unique specialties, be it vibrating through solid mass or running fast enough to travel through time, Hunter's specialized skill is a bit different. He has instead developed the ability to absorb speed force energy, in essence allowing him to take the speed of other speedsters for his own. Apart from that, he wears a specialized friction-proof suit that he "borrowed" from S.T.A.R. Labs.
Weaknesses: While it is true that Hunter can potentially make himself faster than any other speedster by simply stealing their speed, this is not without a heavy price. Increasing one's speed can also increase the speed of their cell regeneration, which in turn increases the speed of the aging process. In essence, the more speed Hunter takes, the more he inadvertently shortens his lifespan in the long run. His obsessions are also a bit of a weakness as well, Hunter having become obsessed with the idea of making himself the Fastest Man Alive by literally eliminating the competition.
Appearance: WIP
Predecessor's History: During the Second World War, Allied Forces received Metahuman assistance from a Speedster called Max Mercury. Max's own background is shrouded in myth, as there are a variety of different alleged origins for the man. What is known is that he used his speed to give the allies a considerable edge against the Axis powers. In fact, Max's involvement could have ended the war much sooner if not for Edward Clariss, a professor within the Nazi science division. Clariss was determined to discover the source of Max's speed, and one day managed to accidentally connect himself to the Speed force while experimenting with lightning and chemicals. It wasn't long before Clariss took to the field, calling himself The Rival and using his speed to combat Max Mercury. After several encounters, both speedsters tried to settle the score once and for all, but the clash of their speed caused them both to disappear in a blinding flash. Some believed they vaporized one another with their speed force lightning, while others claimed they simply merged with the speed force itself somehow. The details were never clear.
BRIEF Bio: Hunter Zolomon was born and raised in Keystone City, unknowingly a descendant of Clariss on his mother's side. He always had a troubled childhood, both his parents rarely spoke, neither to each other nor to him. One day, when visiting home from college, Hunter found out why. His father was actually a serial killer, his mother having found out at some point and forced to keep the secret. Apparently she had had enough and called the police, but Hunter's father killed her in retaliation. This prompted a newfound obsession with criminals and psychology, Hunter even changing his majors around to include criminology and criminal psychology along with his existing major of engineering. After graduating, Hunter was able to put both his degrees to work by joining the S.T.A.R. Labs Science Police, a special division of law enforcement created by S.T.A.R. Labs to deal with metahuman threats. Hunter was good at his job, but during one altercation with a speedster his leg was permanently injured and he had to retire from the Science Police early on, having been forced to walk with a cane. He was still able to work at S.T.A.R. Labs, but only as a Maintenance Engineer. This was a low point, but his luck hadn't turned just yet. He was fixing electrical wiring within the lab's particle accelerator when it was suddenly activated, blasting him with dark matter energy just when the wires overloaded and nearly electrocuted him. Hunter was hospitalized for nearly a month recovering from the coma the experience put him in. When he awoke, Hunter discovered that his leg was miraculously healed, and that he could now move his body at near light-speed. The first thing Hunter did was track down the metahuman that injured his leg, and murdered them to get revenge. It was then he discovered he could steal another speedster's speed - which had the side effect of changing his speed force lightning from the usual yellow/red to blue. From then on, Hunter called himself Zoom. He decided he would prove to the world that he - and only he - deserved to be called the Fastest Man Alive, and that he would accomplish this by defeating every other speedster he encountered and taking their speed for his own. This was shortly before the attacks on Washington D.C. began. When they did, and knowing that other metahumans would be drawn to the conflict, Hunter sped his way over to the nation's capital.
Additional Notes: I may have claimed Max Mercury and The Rival in order to build Zoom's family history. Also, Zoom is primarily only interested in taking out other Speedsters to make himself faster so he's a bit of a wild card. Despite that, he has no love for the Nazi's and thus would be willing to join a team... provided he's the only speedster on said team.
@The Kid Lantern I know this might be a little bit overboard considering I already said I was burnt out but maybe you could reboot the RP? I think my main gripe at the moment is that fact that I can only see mysterious really working in an enclosed space and not out in the open but I think if I could make a new character it might invigorate the RP for me again and considering it seems a few of us wanna use new characters you could just sorta reboot this son of a gun or maybe do a time skip, write out all the characters that are being replaced by having 'em pummelled by The Baroness and start things up again with the new guys meeting up with the veterans like Fission and Adam.
Fission is one of the characters that I adore, writing in this RP has been a joy and I definitely don't want to have to see it go. I won't force it to keep limping on if nobody else wants to, however.
I'm thinking I may keep this one going, but before I decide on moving forward I gotta plan out a course of action so it isn't "do this, do that, insert Nazi supervillain, do this again, do that again, etc..."
Either the Nazi's can take over more ground, or we'll begin to take down their army one fraction at a time from the underground bunker and better in-game planning. I'll likely have Torch get captured by the enemy and create a new character.

I will hold off doing Strange yet until you're sure how to proceed. Once you give me the say so I'll write something up :)
