Name: Evelyn
Alias/Nickname: Faith, Secretary of Hell
Age: apparent/24 real/135
Race: Demon
Appearance: Evelyn is entirely two-faced. In her true form, she appears as a demonic succubi. There is nothing human about her flesh—it ranges from pure black to grey, smooth across her chest but rough with little spines along her arms, legs, and the back of her head. Her head also spouts thorn-like horns, a total of six sticking up from the sides and back of her head. Her forehead is almost like an armored plate, smooth with ridges lining its side. That same forehead also has a glowing white pattern seemingly tattooed across it, curving along her head and sprouting almost like an unfinished tulip. Her eyes naturally glow with hellfire, bright orange, and that same hellfire glows from her sternum, emerging in broken lines across her arms and legs.
And then there are her wings, featherless and bat-like. They reach about 10 feet across, the tips of them sharp. Like her skin, the wings are blackish with traces of orange hellfire seething through visible veins.
Evelyn's human form is much more tame, sporting long black hair and a refined pale face. Her curves are sinewy yet supple, quite the model's body with an hourglass figure. She keeps her nails manicured and her teeth perfectly white, favoring dark dresses and colors that are fashionable, flattering, and fit for the business world. She makes plentiful use of make-up, wearing a pallet that seems professional by design.
Social Status: As a demonic representative of the Peacekeepers, she is respected by most denizens of all races.
Relations: Before she became a representative, she was the CEO of a major business responsible for hiring fashion designers and distributing dresses, make-up, shoes, and every manner of accessory for high-class women. She has major connections in the business world and has even been invited to gatherings among world officials. In Hell, though, there's a somewhat important someone that hates her very, very much.
General Activity: Since joining the peacekeepers, Evelyn has had a specialty for diffusing diplomatic conflicts and striking bargains to keep the peace. She doesn't like to use violence unless she absolutely has to during field missions, and even then she prefers to let her minions do her work for her.
Abilities: Death by Lust: Evelyn is fairly unique in that she doesn't have to touch another being to drain essence. Rather, she is able to drain creatures within 15ft of her when they are experiencing any degree of lust. The more powerful and less restrained the lust, the faster and easier it is for her to drain essence. Because she isn't limited to any one person at a time, she can store up enough essence to last for days just by standing in an enraptured crowd. This also means she is aware of any state of arousal in those around her.
Charm: This goes well beyond good looks and sweet words. Evelyn can stuff her acquired essence (now tainted) into another being. It hijacks the brain by forcing it to release endorphins and hormones, and once the creature's resolve has weakened in a state of ecstasy, she seizes control. When this occurs, the creature's aura will reflect a demonic taint just like hers, and the effect lasts until her essence drains back out of them (anywhere from 1 minute to 6 hours). While this effect is active, the creature effectively becomes her slave, obeying commands while it is under extreme infatuation (note this will not be used without player permission on PC's). Another effect of this process is a telepathic link, since both the creature and Evelyn are connected through her tainted essence.
Flames of Love: Evelyn can ignite her body with purple flame, burning her essence in the process. Her body remains unharmed, but generates scathing heat. She can also ignite this flame in other beings by pumping her tainted essence into them, which takes a full minute to accomplish. Once this is done, she can cause the same fire to burn inside the creature, effectively burning it from the inside out.
Minions of Desire: Evelyn can coalesce her tainted essence into metaphysical form. This requires more essence than she can hold in her body, so she requires either a living subject or a store of essence to draw from. It also requires an advanced ritual that takes about an hour to complete. Essentially, Evelyn uses her tainted essence, desire incarnate, and wills another creature into existence. These creatures are not living, instead resembling familiars or homunculi. The essence they are composed of drains over time, and without being recharged by Evelyn herself, they tend to dissipate after a week. The types of homunculi she can create and their abilities are listed below:
Thread of Love: Invisible and ethereal, it has no physical form (except to Evelyn, who can hold and perceive it as rainbow-colored thread). It cannot be perceived normally even by those who can see aura (or essence), requiring conscious focus to see. This thread can move by itself, upon mental command, and wrap around another creature, forming a link between it and Evelyn. This does not hinder movement, rather, it invades a creature's mind and body, reading its desires and conveying them to Evelyn. She can obtain knowledge of a person's favorite items, the people closest to them, the things they fear to loose the most, and the things they want to obtain more than anything.
Burr of Emotion: Invisible and ethereal (except to Evelyn, who perceives and can manipulate it as a four-pronged burr), it has no physical form. It cannot be perceived normally even by those who can see aura (or essence), requiring conscious focus to see. It acts like a stinger, which Evelyn implants through physical touch anywhere on the target's body. The more resistant the target's mind is, the more resistant they are to the burr, so its effects can take anywhere from a minute to a day to occur. At the time of planting, Evelyn focuses on a single emotion—love, hate, fear, joy, calm, etc.—and then implants that emotion and thoughts tied to it into the target. The longer it remains, the stronger that emotion becomes, sometimes strong enough to cause delusions and hallucinations as it feeds on its target's emotions.
Glasses of Desire: Invisible and ethereal (except to Evelyn, who perceives and can manipulate it as a pair of purple tinted glasses), it has no physical form. It cannot be perceived normally even by those who can see aura (or essence), requiring conscious focus to see. All Evelyn has to do is place it on a person's face and they will see the object of their desire. This can be a location dear to their heart, a person (living or dead) they want to see, or an object they desire. Not only does Evelyn see the manifestation of these things as the wearer sees them, but she can manipulate how they behave, either allowing the wearer's expectations to guide what they see or to control their behavior as she likes.
Once in effect, the glasses last only as long as the wearer allows, draining the wearer's essence the more they invest into the illusion. The wearer can 'smell,' 'touch,' 'hear,' and even 'taste' the illusion, though this effect is only as strong as the wearer wills it to be—essentially, the more they desire the illusion, the more material it becomes to them until it seems entirely real, shutting out reality completely. Left to drain at its full strength, the target can make the illusion last for days until they go unconscious from essence drain. The homunculus can be broken before then if the wearer denies the illusion and pulls his or her mind away from it.
Servant: A small purple imp with wings, a tail, and a slender body. It acts as little more than an errand boy, delivering messages or implanting other homunculi at Evelyn's command.
Superhuman Strength: When in her true form, Evelyn becomes immune to fire and gains the strength and agility of a top human athlete. While this doesn't actually make her abilities superhuman, the fact that she needn't do anything to maintain it speaks volumes about what she would become if she harnessed her full potential.
Human Form: Evelyn can adopt the body of a human, plain and simple. This requires a ritual to do so (which takes about ten minutes to complete), though she doesn't need a ritual to revert back to her normal form. While in human form, her demonic aura is suppressed enough to resemble a human's, which also masks the aura of her passive homunculi on her person.
Equipment: -A very hefty credit card. What can't you buy with money?
-Book of Hell: A little black book full of strange symbols and writing. Could this be a ritual guide?
Personality: Easygoing on the surface, Evelyn eeks charm and charisma. She knows what to wear for every occasion and flaunts her human body with utmost taste. No matter who she meets, she always seems to know what a person wants and how to get it—every person has a price and even angels can't refuse the offers she makes to keep the peace. Deep down, she's a much more needy and ambitious creature, wanting to be loved and adored by those she meets and seen for everything her overlord in Hell denied of her. She has little interest in conquering or domineering other races, as they provide what she easily needs without force or murder. Rather, she's content with the way things are going in the world and is interested in preserving the peace her prosperity has thrived under.
Biography: She was born in Hell and raised to serve her demonic overlord. Her only purpose was to pleasure her overlord, and as she became stronger, to reign in his lesser demons and punish them for any lack of performance. It was far from an ideal life, as her overlord was demanding and callous, but her power as a succubus also separated her from the common filth. What was unexpected was her proficiency for draining essence other demons acquired—she could do so virtually undetected, and over time, learned how to store this essence and hide the stronger powers it unlocked.
Through her draining and her tricks, she eventually rose through the ranks, going from an expendable slave to a cunning leader. Her overlord never gained any more respect for her, but she was able to manipulate his underlings until they rebelled against him. How did the fight go? Probably not well, but she was able to escape in the chaos and scraped her way out of Hell. The mortal world was heaven by comparison, the humans so plentiful and so easy to manipulate she found her way into an easy life in no time at all. Humans loved her, demons wanted to be her, and her knack for closing deals and resolving conflict among her own kind and humans eventually made her the perfect candidate for a peacekeeper.
