Jamie Wolfe and Aella Lorraine Stedford
Location: The Obstacle Tower to the stables.
Interacting With: Each other.
He had a dumb look on his face… or at least he did until he shook it away, playing it off like any normal guy would when he was trying to save face and keep it cool. She hated to admit it, but it made him look rather… cute in a way.
“That… makes a lot of sense…”It was clear that it didn’t make sense to him. That was it- that look behind his eyes, the way he responded to her… he was new to this world; and it was more than obvious that he had no idea, nor had he heard about camp Jupiter before. Once again, the cutie was trying to play it cool, or at least that was how it looked to her. Shifting slightly over the saddle, Aella tilted her head lightly to the side, her brow quirking slightly as she listened to him trying to make sense of things in his mind, however it seemed his thoughts were not coming out the way that he wanted them to.
Chuckling softly, she shook her head lightly from side to side, a gentle sigh falling out through her soft pink lips before she leant her body forward over the saddle, her palm facing up in an invitation as she extended her arm out to him, her dark eyes meeting and holding his own as a small smirk played lightly over her lips,
“Aella Stedford… daughter of Mars, and legacy of Venus.”"Mars... Venus... Right..." Jamie nodded his head, as though he understood what any of that even meant. He wasn't sure what he was hoping for. Without explanation, he wouldn't have any idea who Pluto was, so why would that be different for any of the other planets? So what did that make him? What planets were associated with thunder and lightning? Neptune? Saturn? Hell he had no idea. And he was starting to think that the woman, Aella, already had him figured out.
Clearing his throat, Jamie nodded once and as not to be rude, extended his hand out for what he thought was a handshake.
"Jamie Wolfe. It's nice to mee-"The moment his hand touched hers, she took a firm hold over it, her body sitting back up in the saddle as she pulled him up and onto the horse, her hand still holding his following the guidance of her arm as she led it over her head, making sure that he had at least one of his arms wrapped around her middle before she turned her attention back down to the reigns.
“It’s a pleasure Jamie Wolfe- are you ready to show me around this place now..?”Turning her head back so that she was able to look at him from over her shoulder, she let her dark eyes once more meet with his own, a small though knowing smile playing over her lips as she turned Alcippe around and began to lead her away from the area,
“Also… in the Greek pantheon I would be classed as a daughter of Ares, with a legacy of Aphrodite. They are who Mars and Venus are.”"I... what?" Jamie blinked, the pupils on his large, brown eyes dilating as his mind tried to wrap around what had just happened. One moment his feet had been firmly on the ground, and the next he was saddled behind Aella on her horse. She was pretty strong... for a girl.
Ah, she was a daughter of Ares. Well that explained a lot of it. But... what was a legacy? He wasn't going to continue to push his luck asking stupid questions with her, however. She seemed to have it in her head that he was capable of showing her around camp. Not like he still needed a bit of showing around still himself.
"Uh, sure. Of course. Um... what would you like to see?"“The stables would be a nice start.” Turning her attention back around to the direction they were now heading, she whipped the reins, causing the horse to whine ever slightly before picking up speed away from the obstacle tower, it’s beautiful mane flying back behind her as she ran over the grounds that made up the camp,
“And just because you’re new as well… if you’re trying to keep it cool by pretending to know everything; don’t. You can ask questions.”Stables. Right. They were just over to the left, weren't they? He remembered hearing the whinnying every time he got close to a certain area. Though, he was pretty sure that stable was for the Pegasi. Was there even a stable for a normal horse around here? Hopefully that wasn't what she meant.
"Yeah, it's just over... there..." Jamie had lifted his hand to point her in the right direction, but then lowered it, his voice deflating as she was already steering her horse in the right direction. He was starting to think that Aella didn't really need any kind of tour guide.
His arm around her tightened somewhat as the mare picked up the pace. He couldn't remember the last time he rode a horse - maybe a pony at some kind of circus event when he was a kid, but that was about it. It was... different, and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not.
He was sure his face flushed a few shades brighter once she called him out on being new to the whole thing (or it just might have been from the wind against his cheeks), but he simply shook his head no, not really taking into consideration that she couldn't see him.
"What? No... no I'm cool." he tried to persuade.
Following the directions given to her, Aella steered the mare over in the right direction, her lips turning up in a knowing smile as she listened to him once more trying to play himself off as cool rather than new to it all. It was rather… endearing compared to the normal clueless brats that she was used to coming through the camp; but then again, this wasn’t her normal camp now was it.
“Adorable. Keep telling yourself that, Wolfe; actually no, keep saying that to me, and you might just get more than a ride to the stables.”Chuckling softly once they had drawn close enough, she pulled back on the reins, causing the animal to slow up as it passed through the stable doors, eventually coming to a complete stop giving her the chance to slip off and back to her feet for what was the first time in hours,
“If you need help down, hot stuff; let me know.”Jamie quirked an eyebrow. Of course his natural male mind took her words a particular way... especially with the way she said it... but he had to be sure that she meant something else. Like, lunch, or maybe even a phone number if he was lucky.
He let out a soft breath of air out of relief when the horse came to a stop. He could feel strands of his normally styled hair sticking up in places it shouldn't have been, and tried to run his fingers through it in an effort to smooth it back out with very little success.
Help down? Now that would just be humiliating. Jamie's eyes looked to the ground. It didn't
seem very high up...
"Naw, that's okay. I've got this." He stared at the ground for a moment longer before he shifted his weight, trying to discern the best way to get down. He swung over his left leg to lay beside his right, now sitting side-saddle. His left hand was holding on tight to the reins as he scooted his ass forward, inch by inch, until he began to slide down the mare's side. There was a moment of free-fall, and then his boots came into contact with the soft, manure-smelling dirt. Still clutching onto the reins, he smiled and let go of them, feeling a slight indentation of the leather where it had started to cut into his fingers a bit but quickly stuffed his hand into his pocket. He would check to see if it was bleeding later.
"See? Piece of cake."Chuckling softly, and already working to remove her belongings from the back of the saddle, Aella shook her head lightly from side to side- but honestly, what was with men and trying to make themselves out to be stronger than they actually were..?
“Alright… I’ll take your word for it, Wolfe-boy.”Dropping her bags down on a few bales of hay stacked off to the side, she couldn’t help but to shoot him a quick though playful smirk before turning back to her horse, her hands working to skillfully remove the saddle and the reins from the creature before putting them down with the rest of her belongings,
“Think you’re cool enough to help me brush her down, or you just gunna stand there watching my ass while I do it..?”"Huh?" Jamie's eyes reverted back to hers as he heard Aella addressing him. Was he really staring at her ass just then? He didn't remember looking, though he wouldn't have put it past himself if he was. Women were beautiful creatures. And with all the Aphrodite girls running around camp, it made it a bit more difficult to keep his eyes in his pockets. Not that he had a girlfriend back home, or anything. No, he had broken up with the head cheerleader short of a few months before his mother's death.
Jamie swallowed as he felt a lump starting to form in his throat. Really, he thought he would have been past getting emotional just at the thought of his mother anymore. He shook away the memories.
"Yeah, I can help you out." He took a few steps towards Aella, waiting to be handed a brush or something.
"So, you gonna just keep your horse in here with the Pegasi?" he asked, taking a moment to look around at the winged horses that all seemed to have their attention on them or Aella's horse.
“Alcippe is used to living with the pegasi; these ones will just have to get used to the idea of a normal horse residing in this stable…”Turning her attention back over to him as he took a few steps closer, Aella paused, her small smirk never once leaving her lips as she took her time to look him over, her dark eyes slowly trailing down the length of his body before lifting it back up, eventually meeting with his own once again before she turned and made her way back over to her belongings, rummaging around for a few moments before she threw a large brush over in his direction,
“You can use this; start at her neck and be gentle… I’ll join you in a few…”Not bothering to care whether or not he was still looking at her, she crossed her arms over her chest, pulling her top up and off over her head before she threw it into the open bag, leaving her standing before him in a baggy singlet top as she leant forward, zipping her bag to a close again once she pulled out a second brush.
Catching the brush out of luck rather than skill, Jamie gave the object a quick look-over before starting to brush the horse, starting at the neck and stroking down along the beginnings of her back.
"So, does that mean you're going to be staying here in camp for a while?" he asked, unable to ignore the way she said that the Pegasi would just have to get used to her horse. He turned his head for a moment to look at her as he addressed her, though catching her in a moment of changing, he quickly averted his eyes and looked back to the horse, seeming far more interested in the way he was brushing her than he probably should have been.
Falling silent for a few moments, she turned her head back to look at him, managing to catch his eye just as he turned it away causing her smirk to grow even further over her lips- so like any man… of course he was looking. She couldn’t really blame him though, it was the work of Venus; the lure of beauty she had because of her legacy… it was something that most guys who met her couldn’t resist.
“..yeah, I’m here permanently… at least until I choose to leave. I transferred.”Pausing for a moment, she slowly made her way back over to him, her head tilting lightly as she continued to watch him brush down her horse, her body soon coming to press gently up against his back, and her hand coming up to rest over his as she corrected his movements, her lips brushing lightly against the shell of his ear as she chuckled again,
“..do you have a problem with that..?”Transferred? How did someone go about doing
that? He didn't even know there were other camps until just a few minutes ago - and yet there were such things as transfers? Gods, he really had some catching up to do to be able to survive another week in camp. Especially now that Aella was staying - she definitely knew how to keep him on his toes and he wasn't even sure if he would be able to explain how or why that was.
Speaking of -
Jamie felt her front pressing into his back, her arm coming around him to place her hand on his to guide the brush he had been putting his attention on in a polite effort to correct what he was doing.
"Uhhh... no." he said, unsure as to whether or not his answer was the right one. There always seemed to be a "right" and "wrong" answer with women, even when it didn't make sense.
Especially when it didn't make sense.
He turned his head to look back at her, letting his eyes meet with hers once more though for some reason, didn't think to compensate for the closeness between their bodies. Her head was practically to his, he was able to feel her breath on his nose. His eyes drifted for a moment, taking in the shape of her lips before they wandered back up. Gods, he felt like he was in high school again - playing that weird "game" at whatever party of "is she really that into you or not?"
"No I do not."His eyes flicked to her lips… just as hers did his. It seemed they were both thinking along the same lines, though whether either of them was going to act on it was another matter. He was cute-… no, he was more than just cute; and the fact that he had managed to catch her eye, even after it had been caught by a man she had already had relations with in the past, was nothing to laugh at.
“..good.”Closing the gap left between the both of them, she pressed her soft pink lips against his, her free hand moving forward to rest lightly against his side, her body pressing harder against his back than before as she brought her arm back into her body, letting her nails drag lightly over his skin as she trailed her fingers up the length of his arm until she finally brought it to a rest over his shoulder.
Okay… he wasn’t quite expecting that.
Jamie felt her lips pressing hard against his and a soft moan of both surprise and pleasure escaped his throat. Admittedly, he wasn’t going to directly engage in anything, no matter how confusingly interested she might have seemed. She was hot and from a different camp and had a pet horse - that was all he knew about her. Even back home, he’d try to at least get to know the girl before asking her out, or something. But she had been the one to kiss him, and he’d just be fucking stupid to back down now.
He turned in her arms, abandoning the horse brush by dropping it to the floor somewhere and placed one hand on her hip while the other slipped back behind her hair, holding her neck delicately as he kissed her back. If there was anything important he was supposed to be doing, he sure as hell wasn’t going to get to it now.
