Welcome to Containment! An unforgiving roleplay about incarceration, and experimentation.
You awake in a room you have never seen before. You try to force your way out, but it's almost like it was made for you. To keep you in...
Containment is a roleplay that takes place in a facility for containment and experimentation. You take the role as a prisoner who wakes up in such a facility. For whatever reason something about you has caught "their" attention. Whether it be something unique to you, or simply wishing to use you as a guinea pig.
There is no predetermined goal set in place, and instead completely up to the characters to decide what it is they wish to do. The aim of my roleplays are to provide an environment that changes based on the characters decisions (doing nothing is a choice too!). While escaping is the most evident one, it is in no way limited to just that.
Taking place in a facility the setting won't change too much, and the focus will revolve more around interaction and preparation. Despite this, the building is quite large and should span for a notable about of time.
The plan is to have each npc all have their own backstory and motives that can, or be, affected by your actions. This is by no means a quirky roleplay. It is harsh and unforgiving. Consequences won't always just be a slap on the wrist. If you make a wrong choice or act prematurely you should expect your character to die.
If your character were to die, you may submit another! Unless specified unable.

Great! Do you mind doing a CS? Note, that for this RP, i'd like you to do it in the style of an SPC:
Name- Coraline "Himavat (Hymn)" Malhotra
Age- Late teens, actual age unknown.
Personality- Subject is very friendly and sociable, no matter if fellow prisoner or staff, and is normally happy to help with various tasks as long as she is not placed in harm's way. She is also extremley chatty, a psych staff member described her as 'never shutting the f*ck up.' As well as this, she suffers from mild Tourette's syndrome, her physical tics being tapping her thumb and blinking respectivley. Because of this, subject is on experimental medicine to suppress this. Should the medicine be a success, sale should be considered. Subject also appears to despise given name, and will refuse to respond to it should she be called it. It is recommended to simply call her Hymn or Malhotra should she need to be singled out.
Appearance- Subject is around 5"6, with a slightly olive skin colour and thin, weighing a mere 75 kilos, which is evenly distributed throughout her entire body. She has extremely long black hair which she kp tied back into a 'folded-over' ponytail and is very clearly ethnically Nepalese. She has prominent bags under her eyes, which are deep-set into her face, and she has a very small and rounded nose. Her facial structure closely resembles that of a much younger child, although this is in contrast to a much more age-correct body type. Her clothes have been slightly adjusted, they are three (3) times as thick as the regular clothing, and she wears elbow-length gloves which suppress her cooling effect.
Mental State - Bar her Tourette's, subject is mentally extremley healthy, despite her containment and tries to remain upbeat at all times.
Strengths- Subject's body temperature is much lower than that of a regular human, ranging from around 12 Celsius to 14. This makes her highly resistant to cold temperatures, and the subject shows a preference towards colder environments and temperatures. Note that this does not effect normal bodily functions. Subject also appears to have a cooling effect on her surroundings; the closer one gets to her, the more prominent this is. This cooling effect is greatly magnified with water, and subject can freeze a glass of pure water in ten (10) seconds if she holds it. Subject seems to have some measure of control over this cooling ability, especially relating to water, however it is far simpler to let the thicker clothing and gloves to control ability than allow her to experiment. Because of her lowered body temperature, she is also less affected by electricity.
Weaknesses- Subject is extremely susceptible to temperatures exceeding 35 Celsius, and especially fire. It is recommended to keep her away unless absolutely needed or she is undergoing experiments directly relating to this. Subject is also quite physically weak, although not entirely unfit.
Cell Number- Green 6
How Do They Feel About Pufferfish?- Never heard of them. Would probably want one as a pet if she knew of them.
Misc- Should staff members need to suppress her, it is recommended to not exceed 30% power on any heat-generating device, and to never use magnesium flashbangs to prevent permanent damage to subject. All stun guns/tasers will potentially need to be used multiple times due to electrical resistance. Mace and/or pepper spray and batons are highly recommended, unless lethal force is authorised.
It is highy recommended for subject to not be allowed near any quantity of pure water exceeding ten (10) litres to prevent large amounts of ice to potentially be utilised by subject.
Keep subject away from Dr. [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] cannot stand subject due to extreme verbosity.
Name - Cain Hollenbeck, sometimes hesitates to respond to "Hollenbeck", suggested address of "Cain"
Age - Apparent age of mid-20s, Subject claims age of 24, though seems to hold knowledge impossible for such an age.
Personality - Subject is almost abnormally calm, welcoming and polite. Subject frequently offers its own meals to guests in its cell, or to other prisoners, and has been noted to forgo food for dangerous lengths of time. Subject also frequently discusses historical events, though from a perspective of someone having witnessed them. Subject is non-hostile and non-threatening, but should be kept under constant watch due to abilities. Subject often makes requests for live rodents and other small animals in place of food, usually after demonstration of abilities. Said animals are returned deceased.
Appearance - Subject stands at a height of 6 feet 3 inches, and is of an athletic build. Subject has a body weight of about 100 kilograms, and is able to maintain this mass despite the previously mentioned forgoing of food. Subject has a pale skin tone, possibly due to lack of sun exposure(see Weaknesses section), and has physical scars and healed wounds across much of their skin. The eyes are of particular note, having a unique red iris, which provides a look many have described as "goddamn creepy". Subject is also notable for having somewhat elongated canine teeth, though they do not extend past the mouth when they close it. Overall, appearance suggests relation to possible historical paranormal figures.(See Misc section)
Mental State - The Subject exhibits no known mental instabilities, and seems unusually welcoming of being kept in captivity and studied. Subject welcomes experimental procedures, and often engages in conversation with staff during said procedures.
Strengths - The subject exhibits extreme paranormal activities, including superhuman strength, agility, and powers able to manipulate human thought. However, the subject seems very unwilling to utilize such powers, and has insisted that they hold others that they choose not to use, for fear of harming staff. Attempts to persuade or force the subject to demonstrate have been unsuccessful. Subject also exhibits the ability to survive without food or water, oftentimes having to have such sustenance forced upon them. Overall subject exhibits characteristics of some sort of superhuman.
Weaknesses - Subject often displays a lack of time perception, noting that a conversation lasting several hours "felt like a few minutes." when addressed. Subject also has trouble declaring exact dates for historical events taking place after the 18th century, especially those of the 20th or 21st century. In regards to physical weakness, the subject displays a distaste for natural sunlight, with moderate skin agitation showing on afflicted areas of the body. Subject also displays a severe aversion to fire, doing all things necessary to avoid contact. Subject often shows fatigue after demonstrations of powers, and frequently requests small animals in place of meals when this happens. Said animals are returned deceased, with no blood found inside the body system.
Cell Number - Green 2
How Do They Feel About Pufferfish? - Subject has described them as "fun to watch when they interact with other things, a good delicacy if properly prepared."
Misc - Staff are encouraged to refrain from using terms such as "vampire", "blood-sucker", "freak", "parasite" or other derogatory terms. Staff should also refrain from threatening the subject with crucifixes, garlic, running water or other such devices historically used to combat vampirism. Should subject need to be detained, lethal force is authorized if necessary, though the likelihood of subject requiring detainment is extremely low.
Subject should be kept from contact with Drs.[REDACTED] and [REDACTED], and general staff member [REDACTED], due to the subject being referred to as "An unholy abomination that should be purged in the name of Christ."
@DepressedSoviet -100 luck points for suggesting the eating of pufferfish.
Get rid of the Nazi/Evolution/Alien thingy, and the ability to predict death. In the original RP on another site, I had a character who could predict death and he was hella OP, because he could literally dodge SO MUCH.
One spies a file sitting on one of the researcher's desks. Upon opening it, one would find information on one particular patient, scrawled with personal notes from the mystery researcher:
Subject Name - Anastasia McCormick (Please note, subject only responds to "Annie".)
Age - Subject is quite young, and can't be much older than 11.
Personality - Subject is very complaint to orders, and can be considered very obedient. Subject is very polite to visitors, and is known to call researches as "Auntie" or "Uncle". However, as the subject is quite young, she is incredibly naive to the severity of her situation, and just finds it as one long game. The subject has a very bubbly personality (I'll miss that when she leaves us for the morgue), and is quite playful. It does take a while to get the subject "into the mood" to test, as she would prefer to play with the items [REDACTED] strewn about the room. Subject can sometimes be very emotional, screaming and crying over small things (which makes the entire Yellow ward unbearable for a time due to the annoyance of it's shrillness.)
Appearance - Subject stands at 4 feet 6 inches, and weighs 29 kilograms, slightly under an average child of her age. Subject wears her thick strawberry-blonde hair in two pigtails high on each side of her head, the ends barely reaching her shoulders. Subject has large hazel eyes and a heart-shaped face. Subject's skin is very pale from lack of sunlight, though shows hints of being of a peachy tone. Upon opening her mouth, subject appears to still have many baby teeth, but is missing: * Upper-left lateral * Lower-right cuspid Lower-left central is loose. Gum health appears to be in good condition. Subject has a button nose, adorned with freckles (it's really hard to resist pressing her nose, but she likes it anyway) On her left cheek, she has one very deep dimple, but her right is only shallow. Subject wears a shortened uniform, though she still needs her sleeves and cuffs rolled up. (why don't we stock children's sizes?) Around her waist is a black sash of fabric, tied about as to keep her uniform close-fitting (and frankly more appealing to look at, because she disappears into her uniform otherwise), and on her wrists are two red scrunchies, spare for if the ones in her hair snaps.
Mental State - As the subject is not fully developed, it is hard to tell if she suffers from Hyperactive-Impulsive ADHD, or if she's just being a child. (be sure to keep things in her cell to keep her entertained - may prove to better study the subject)
Strengths - Subject is very willing to co-operate with others (This also makes her medical tests and experiments quite bearable for staff). Subject excells at mental tests, as subject is surprisingly intelligent for her age (study this factor further - try adult-level tests?).
Weaknesses - Subject is small and weak, would not be able to keep up with other subjects in physical tests.
Cell Number - Yellow-5
How Do They Feel About Pufferfish? - Subject thinks they're cute, and tends to imitate their face (it's adorable).
Misc - Subject may show signs of awareness of her situation, although it has been assured by my superiors that she does not know anything about where she is, no matter how many questions she asks. Make sure to keep her convinced that it's just a game.
Upon finishing reading the file, one would think that this researcher was infatuated with the subject, which is quite concerning for the child's welfare.
