@Zelosse My problem with that was that it's conclusion was not only forgone (Meaning that ultimately whatever I'd do is meaningless), but also implicated some negative characterization. If Maria, Tani, and Malakaus are suppose to represent the "elite" within the royal knights, and each gets trounced by one psychopath with a strange sword, what does that say about the royal guards? I personally hate The Worf Effect just to establish the strength of an enemy for the same reason I told Bishop that his character's fighting ability should be reliant on his sword skills and not having a lightsaber; it doesn't show how strong they are, and if anything it just shows who's weak enough to die by those methods.

To put it in another perspective, it's like a armored knight versus a mage. Everyone would favor the mage because he has a magic and the knight just has armor and a big sword, and that's how everyone expects it to be. That's how I felt our fight go down. Yeah, sure, magic generally do trump armor and swords. It's what mages do. But what is expected doesn't always mean what happens. A knight could still survive whatever a mage could throw.

To put the above perspective in another perspective, replace magic with guns and you'll have the same thing. Everyone thinks that just because you have magic, that you'd win. That it's "suppose" to happen. But I'd like my fights where the conclusion is up in the air. Magic isn't the key to winning, nor is full plate. Winning is dependent on multiple factors, some within your control, others outside of it. Your skills and abilities, your weapons of choice, your techniques and tactics. Simply being outnumbered.

So TR:DR, I'm only annoyed that I had to lose because the GM said I was suppose to. Go all out if you must, fight dirty, and do what you have to to win. You should earn your victory, not have it given to your for the purpose of a plot that may never happen because we'll eternally be stuck on day one.

I also feel like I have neglected to say about my characters divine protection, but the exhaustive effects of it stack up until he actually rests. So if he uses his powers now for three minutes then he uses it for two more minutes an hour later, then the effects will stack up until he gets a good night's rest.

In all honesty, Bishop can utilize a "light sword" with the use of yang magic, however, Priscilla used this ability during the day for hardly few seconds, so even with the power you get from converting gold, I doubt it would ever match the raw power of a day-time Priscilla in terms of magical intensity and as such it should only last less than a second.

Well said. Just like it isn't a forgone conclusion fighting Vesta. Sure it will be bloody difficult to take her on, especially considering 99% of her fights are on the GROUND. Hence why she will have a huge advantage there but doesn't mean that she will win, always a chance of someone using wind magic for example to flip about in the air and catch her off guard.
However say she's fighting aboard a ship? While there is earth beneath the water, there isn't much else to use and it would take time to get to where she is if she's manipulating it. (Hence why she keeps a pocket of pebbles on hand, better than nothing).

Speaking of the "This has all been one day" thing, the GM did state they wished to conclude the day. So if it was possible could we try to do something that would give a transition within the confines of our posts?

I don't know.. In the DnD rp that I once was (damn regret my lack of mechanics knowledge), things progressed rather good. Some posts we were traveling, others fighting, some others resting etc.
Here though, 70% we're talking(god everyone loves fluff) and 30%fighting. And the posts for each are written as if we're actually there, 1 Long post= 1 minute in Rp time. This is super bad for character development, something most wanted to do, like teaching their character sword fighting or magic. So the slow progression is a problem that should be fixed.

These are some reasons most participants here feel that are responsible for the slow rp and that should be fixed.

I on the other hand am fine, I like it as it is.
