Once I have most of you accepted, (so likely late tomorrow from the looks of it) I will start working with Rusty to get the intro post out. Which will take place at your graduation ceremony, where teams will be assigned.
If you're still unaccepted a that time, then a reason for your absence will be created once you get accepted.
I may have to wait until there is a spot open. You don't mind if I still fill out a character sheet anyway? Rather be ready with a character when the time comes then having to rush a character together when there is a spot is finally open.
@BladeSS4 You can fill one out, but I'd prefer if it wasn't posted here until a spot opens. Because there is one person ahead of you in the waitlist. If you want to PM it to me, then I can offer early reviews on it, certainly.
Yup, this little thing is definitely finished now. Well, unless I've got any editing to do that is :p
"A fact a day."
Name: Kohaku Gushiken
Nickname: N/A, may obtain one in game.
Gender: Female
Age: 14, born 16th July.
Age Appearance: 14-16
Sexuality: Aware that she may be homosexual, but is rather secretive about it. Parents: • Akio Gushiken, Father (Alive) • Atsuko (Akiyama) Gushiken, Mother (Deceased)Height and build: 165cm → 5'4. Lithe build.
Weight: 50kg → 111lbs
Favorite weather and season: Snowy days and misty mornings. Loves Autumn and Winter more than any other season.Village/Nation: Konohagakure
Birthplace: Konoha Hospital
Organization: Konohagakure Shinobi Forces
Clan/Bloodline: Not part of any particular clan or notable bloodline.Rank: Genin
Appearance: Rather tall for her age, Kohaku stands at a solid 5'4 and still growing, possessing a willowy figure that lacks any curves. She takes greatly after her mother, having light brown hair and large golden eyes. Her battle attire is relatively simple, consisting of an oversized black hoodie that she wears open, a burgundy shirt and dark grey pants. Kohaku claims that the reason she wears such large clothes is because her father believes she will grow into them eventually. Due to her recent spike in height growth, this seems very likely.
Chakra Nature: Lightning
Personality: While she seems to be the spitting image of her mother, Kohaku takes almost none of her character, as she has grown up solely with her outgoing and talkative father. She shares his extroverted personality and confident demeanour, and is on the more assertive side of the spectrum compared to some of her classmates. From a young age, Kohaku has always been bold and extremely curious; 'Life is too short', her father would often say, so she maintains her thirst for knowledge and social personality. She's even said to have a bit of a mischevious streak with her closer friends. Some people may see her as too nosy for her own good or perhaps too bubbly that it's more annoying than comforting. Kohaku does try to be as friendly and cheerful as possible towards other people, though her unique chakra perception abilities make her easily wary of 'strange' people. Even so, she tries to conceal her superstitions as best as she can, trying to be as welcoming as she can towards them. Kohaku doesn't easily tolerate insults towards herself or others though, suddenly becoming quite hostile in order to defend herself or another person. A bully is often met with a bombardment of witty comments, and some have noticed that the more angry she gets, the louder her voice becomes. She doesn't take arguments lightly either, always going the extra mile to prove her point.
Kohaku despises the silence, taking whatever chance she can to liven a room up with a bit of noise and conversation. She's not considered much of a troublemaker, though she has been told off on many occasions for whispering to people when she's clearly not supposed to. Less talkative people may feel uncomfortable in her presence, as her energetic behaviour and loud voice can be a bit overwhelming. She has no intention of making anyone feel unsettled though, and can even feel a bit bad for 'scaring' someone off. When it comes to the competitive scene however, Kohaku puts her heart and soul into winning, determined to come out on top and make herself and her father proud. Nothing beats the great feeling of victory and pride.
Although she appears confident in front her classmates, Kohaku keeps a lot of her true feelings to herself and possesses more insecurities than expected from such an outgoing girl. Contrary to popular belief, she becomes noticeably frightened in the face of danger quite easily, despite her efforts to conceal it with her usual confidence. She desperately tries to hide away her fears in order to not make any trouble for anyone. When confronted about this Kohaku becomes unusually snappy and attempts to deny what people have pointed out. As much as she wants to strengthen herself both mentally and physically, there are times where she experiences some low points from the belief that she's barely making any steps forward to improving herself. Constantly relying on other people is something Kohaku tries to avoid, as she believes she won't make any improvements without having at least some independence. She knows that her father works hard for her, and so she wants to work hard to improve herself as a person too; nothing hurts her more than becoming a burden to others.
History: For the past fourteen years, Kohaku hasn't experienced anything negatively extraordinary or traumatic, never really having known her mother all that well. As it was a time where the countries were at war with each other, Akio's wife had suffered an unfortunate fate in the midst of bloody violence, leaving only himself to take care of his remaining daughter. Kohaku was only two at the time.
The man knew of the struggles that would follow trying to raise his child as a single parent, yet he stuck with it and tried to raise his daughter as best as he could. Nothing was going to come in between him and his precious little girl's childhood. But despite his, he still found himself struggling to support himself and Kohaku. He would take missions whenever he could, and as frequently as he could. Making time for his daughter would be very difficult because of this, but somehow, he managed. Every second he was with her would be forever treasured in his heart, and he took this opportunity to teach her some wise lessons for her later life, sayings that Kohaku often recites to herself in dire situations. She quickly grew into an excitable and curious child, always asking questions and never not asking questions. She even developed a passion for reading at a young age, because her father thought she needed at least something to keep her busy while he was away. Who knew a child as active as her would ever become such an avid reader?
Fiction was great and all, but Kohaku relished non-fiction, preferring to learn about the vast world she lived in. 'A fact a day' became her new saying, and anytime she was home alone she would read and flip pages for hours. The other days where she wasn't home alone would be spent with her father; as she grew older, the moments they would share became much shorter.
One night, her father fell ill. Although it wasn't anything too serious - merely him overworking his body a bit too much - Kohaku's six-year-old self panicked as if it was the end of the world. Her dad was her world. She finally realised just how hard he had been working for her, and it saddened her deeply. For the first time, Kohaku felt a sense of helplessness. How was a six-year-old girl supposed to help a well trained Jonin like her father? Would reading books all day really be enough to support her father when he couldn't work?
A few months later, she entered the Academy. Her outgoing personality gained her quite a number of friends and many acquaintances, though even as a young girl she was set on becoming as great of a ninja as her father. She focused on physical activity just as much as academic studies, which she excelled at most. What she lacked in physical strength she made up for with brain power, though this didn't hinder her from training her own body to its limits. She recognised her talents and attempted to enhance them even more. Once written exams rolled in, Kohaku passed them with flying colours. The day fourteen-year-old Kohaku found out she had passed the Genin Exams was one of the most memorable times of her life. She felt like she had really accomplished something, and really made her father proud.
But Kohaku was naïve enough to think this was the end. This was only just the beginning. Even though the war had come to a close, there would be no time for slacking off. She was a certified Genin now; things were about to get tougher from here on.
Though, she was sure an occasional book wouldn't be that much of an interference.
Theme Song:
Skills/Abilities: • Good Speed • Good Chakra Control • Good Reflexes • Good Intelligence • Average Genjutsu • Average Ninjutsu • Average Taijutsu • Poor Endurance • Poor Strength • Poor Chakra Reserves
Special Traits: Kohaku has not only inherited her mother's looks, but she has also inherited her mother's unique gift; effortless chakra detection. She had become skilled enough to be able to sense and examine individual chakra signatures from long distances with exceptional detail, and even tell how someone's feeling or if they are lying based on the fluctuations in a person's chakra, making her a talented interrogator as well as a great tracker. Although Kohaku is nowhere near this level yet, she is still noticeably perceptive, able to vaguely 'sense' what a someone's personality is like through their chakra signature, immediately sensing when people are near (she is currently able to sense chakra from within a 500 metre radius), and feeling overwhelmed after sensing someone's immense chakra potency.
Kohaku is also quite sensitive to sound, a trait also inherited from her mother. She's finds herself to be very aggravated or sometimes even pained by loud explosions or even very heavy rain, and a bit unsettled hearing random small noises in an empty house that would usually go unnoticed. Despite this, she still prefers slightly louder atmospheres rather than a silent one where she can clearly hear a dripping tap all the way from the kitchen. Ironically, Kohaku is absolutely terrified by thunderstorms.
From a young age, Kohaku had learned how to climb trees, and is now quite adept at it. She can often be found in a certain tree in a certain playground, usually with a book in hand. Also, while not necessarily a skilled strategist, Kohaku is quite knowledgeable about the world around her, from the history and founding of Konohagakure to the different species of birds found in different lands.Jutsu
Name of Technique: Lightning Style: Discharge Type of Jutsu: Mainly defensive, but can be used in an offensive way in some cases. Rank: C Range: Short Nature Type: Lightning Release Handseals: Four, ending in Ram. Description: After forming her hand signs, Kohaku discharges a small electrical current from her body. Upon contact (e.g the enemy trying to grab her), the enemy receives a slight electric shock once the electricity is focused and discharged from that point, which is strong enough for them to retract themselves from Kohaku. This process happens within less than a second. She mainly uses this as an escape tactic, or a neat way to shock and temporarily distract someone in a hand-to-hand combat fight. Weakness: This electrical current is still quite weak, and is only able to distract an enemy for a few seconds, and will not damage them in any way. One can also tell when she is using this technique, as small sparks will begin to flicker around her body. After an opponent is shocked, if she wishes to shock another person then she must repeat the hand sign formations. It isn't a reliable jutsu if the user is taking on multiple opponents at once, as the electrical current can only be focused on the area which one person has grabbed at a time.
==================== To be learned: ====================
Name of Technique: Lightning Style: Raijin Type of Jutsu: Offensive Rank: B Range: Short Nature Type: Lightning Release Handseals: Six, ending in Snake. Description: Kohaku draws on and focuses as much chakra as she can to envelop herself in electricity, similar to the Lightning Release: Chakra Mode technique. She then sprints towards the target at full speed. Once she is a metre away from the opponent, Kohaku then begins to rotate her body clockwise, making it look like she has been enveloped by a whirlwind of electricity. As soon as she's within hitting range, she kicks her opponent on the side of their face with her left leg, then rotates one more time to deliver a powerful kick with the surface of her right leg towards the ground. This all happens in the time span of a few seconds, depending on the distance between herself and her opponent. Weakness: As her chakra reserves are lacking, she only allows herself to perform this technique once. Kohaku also requires precise chakra control and a good sense of distance, as she needs to calculate how much speed she requires to reach her opponent, consider the distance between them so she knows when to stop accelerating to deliver the hit, and be able to control her chakra accurately in order to perform these feats. She must use this jutsu quickly, as she is only able to travel in a straight line whilst using it. Too slow and the opponent can easily dodge. Too fast and she will end up running into her opponent instead of attacking them.
1. Chakra sensing is a technique, not something that can be inherited. You can have learned it, but as a Genin you can only know where people are, if they aren't suppressing chakra, up to 20 Meters away. No personality sensing, as that isn't linked to chakra what so ever. If you are using it, you can sense where people are up to 100 meters. The only thing you can tell, is how powerful their chakra is in increments. I.e.; Standard Shinobi, Sage Mode Users, Tailed Beasts, and then any oddities (I will let you know if oddities pop up). When actively using it, you can tell if somebody is lying. So make a custom technique for Chakra Sensing.
2. Electromagnetic Murder is B ranked, please choose a different one.
3. Genin can only have up to C rank, not B. Your 'Raijin' technique is very much so a B ranked. I am going to need you to change that. Other than that, I like it so far.
I am considering making a Discord Server for this, as a play where we can talk about things not related to the rp or whatever. Through the text chat, obviously. Then also having rooms on there for the teams, allowing for easier communication among the teams.
Your thoughts on this? It's fun little way to get to know each other better, and allows the team leaders to get information to you sooner.
By the way, an observation. We're all very lucky that your two characters are not on the same team. If Tomiko ever tells the team about her nickname as "Demon-killer" we'd all be able to hear Ryu's butt clench.
Favorite weather and season: Bright Sunny day, Summer
Village/Nation: Konohagakure Birthplace: Fire Nation Border Organization: Konohagakure Shinobi Forces
Bloodline: Yamasaki Bloodline
Rank: Genin
Chakra Nature: Fire Release, Water Release
Personality: Aimi is a shy person who does not like to speak up and thinks that she is better off being invisible rather than standing out. She doesn't know how she should be around other people, but does feel that she should prove her worth. It is this line of thinking that allows Aimi to be a the front of the fighting in most of her Academy training, but when someone would try and approach her she would just back way from them. She isn't sure how she feels about the idea of being put into teams after graduation from the Academy as that means she would have to work closely with others and have to interact with them constantly.
History: Aimi was born into a none shinobi family as they did not live anywhere near Konoha at the time of her birth. Her parents had hope that she would never have to even think about becoming a shinobi like her ancestors as they tried to keep her bloodline hidden from her. Her parents ran an inn on the border between the Water nation and the Fire nation and welcomed people from both nations as they did not see a difference between the people. Aimi grew up as a friendly kid who was around a bunch of different people who she accepted and she even met several shinobi who passed threw on various missions.
It was a pleasant early life for Aimi, but it would not last as the Great Shinobi War broke out for the various nations. This had a large effect for the Yamasaki family as they were sought out for their history with the Steam release kekkei genkai which some villages thought they would be able to integrate into one of their clans. This caused the family to flee from their inn on the border away from the bands of Kiri ninjas that were killing any village that they came across. This is how Aimi's family came to reside in Konoha safe from the front lines of the war.
During Aimi's refuge doctor check up, they discovered that she did have chakra within her body and had the potential to become a shinobi. This interested the young girl because she wanted to avenge the people that died back in her home village and protect those that she held dear. She begged her parents that she wanted to enter the Academy to train to become a Shinobi and to despite their reluctance, they allowed her to enroll.
Skills/Abilities Good Taijutsu Good Ninjustsu Good Strength Averge Chakra Control Average Chakra Reserves Average Speed Poor Genjutsu Poor Awareness
Special Traits Aimi's body is naturally built to withstand high speed strain on the body as well as the added force on her muscles do to her steam release. This does not make her immune to the strain on her body but it does not destroy her body as fast.
Kekkei Genkai
Name of Kekkei Genkai: Steam Release Description: The Steam release is a technique used to enhance the abilities of the user through the use of concentrated steam. The user combines the chakra of water and fire within their body before releasing it through the pores across their bodies to allow them to hit harder and move faster. Steam can also be released from their bodies to create a smokescreen or expelled from their mouths.
This KG is not passed down through a clan as it is a single family that possesses the trait. The trait has a habit of skipping generations and only showing up randomly.
Name of Technique: Steam Release: Steam God Type of Jutsu: Offensive Rank: C Range: Close Combat Nature Type: Water Release, Fire Release Handseals: 8 Handseals ending in Dog Description: This technique is a constant production of steam within the users body allowing them to release the steam at certain points of their body. This increased their speed and movement as well as puts more power behind their Taijutsu techniques. At the current stage in development, Aimi is able to move 1.5 faster than the average shinobi and is also 1.5 times stronger. Weakness: Requires a large amount of chakra to use, the user is also not immune to being burned by the released steam.
Finally all finished. I also vote for a discord channel.

I'm aware that this technique is something close to the sort of custom technique you were describing, so I was wondering if I could use this instead, but in it's earlier developments stages? For example, Kohaku can only sense chakra from within 100 metres, and vaguely sensing the fluctuations in someone's chakra when they're lying can be a sort of gut feeling that may not always be accurrange. Over time she can increase her range etc. as she gets stronger. Whatever's appropriate, of course.
@Kal-El Why you gotta ninja post me, man? DENIED >=C.
Kidding.
Anyways, a few things I want to point out;
1. Interesting idea, I like it.
2. You're not the current clan leader, your cousin is the current leader. You will be once you're old enough.
3. As far as your character knows, Ryu is a boy. Just a note.
4. For Eight-Trigrams; a Genin is only capable of up to 24 palms. Anymore will rip your muscles, and make you pass tf out.
5. Orbiting Heaven, is a C rank and will drain your Chakra by alot. Cause it's pretty powerful.
Adjust those and gimme that background please!
1. Thank you. I got it from a good friend of mine. Well the blind swordsman bit. @Sloth Wonder if he'll see this mention and get happy. lol
2. Already changed it to his mom taking over.
3. But wouldn't the Byakugan give it away since it can see beyond clothes and sees your exact figure? I mean Haitani wouldn't give it away though.
4. I can go up to 24 palms? Awesome.
5. That's fine.
<Snipped quote by Kal-El>
I like him. Considering they are the heirs of two of the most influential clans of Konoha, it's not unlikely that they would see each other often out of class. Seeing as they've been friends for ten years, I'm guessing that Tetsuo was around 5 when they met, and Haitani was around 6-7?
Yes. Around 6. Definitely met during meetings between the Hyuuga and Senju. Give the clans a very close tie.
How much do any of the two teams know about Rouka? Anyone that is in good terms/friends with him etc? He's no Sai but just weird.... like Spidey weird.
