Had random idea of doing a reincarnation story, a group of kids experienced an accident in their normal world and it caused them to be reincarnated into another world. They will be given a random ability done by drawing of lots, and we will go through their various adventures in this new world. if I get enough interest in this roleplay I'll begin to work on the lottery and the abilities, note: Some abilities will be powerful while another could be weaker. This is not including any 'hidden' abilities that the characters might have when they reincarnate. I will give these as well to help balance the characters slightly so they wont be totally screwed if they got a bad ability. This story is based off various light stories and novels about reincarnation, with slight game elements and leveling.

People will be free to form parties and so on as they join the adventure guild or even open a shop, or maybe someone will gain the ability to create a dungeon. I'll be taking a complete NPC and story role in order for all the roleplayers who join will have their own chances to do as they desire. The rp is mostly Open in terms of story for the time being, I'll create various events as the characters progress among other things. What do you all think? if I can get enough interest I'll begin creating the world and list of abilities.

I do enjoy those stories though because it can be totally interesting at what happens. I haven't read a lot of Kumo I will emit, atlest the light novel version since for me it's a bit harder to get into since it feels bit to vague on some of the combat releated scenes. Planned to go back to reading it though, I was reading the Manga since it was easier to get into, haven't read past the second encounter with the earth dragon. Tend to look all over novelupdates.com for various stories that involve anything with 'reincarnation into another word' 'game elements' 'leveling' or 'reincarnated into a monster'. about 75% of the ones I've looked at has actually been good.

I've read at least 80% of manga/light novel that revolves around this idea of people being reincarnated or transported into another world. So whichever you go for (reincarnating as a normal human with power, as a monster, as another species, etc), I would be all up for it. The best thinga bout this kinds of RP is the world and characters/NPCs within that you can interact with. There's lots of possibilities to explore and even if you get a weaker power, there's room for "leveling up", or learning how to take advantage of it.
(Unless, of course, your ability is "being able to cook really well" or something along those lines.)

lol yup. It's cool to find someone who knows the joy of these kind of stories as well. granted the stories with over powered protags are still funny. One story I was getting into was 'I was reincarnated as a Vending Machine' it was to funny lol. it also progressed reasonably to where things didn't progress insanely off screen like on some stories. for example, 'I was reincarnated as a sword' off-screen the character had explored all of it's surroundings and gained like 30 new abilities from the enemies his killed all 'off screen'.... I hate that kind of stuff unfortunally.

I will be trying my best in making a great world for all the characters to enjoy in and create a lot of NPCs and even monsters. Almost feel like this will be similar to D&D from how I'll be dealing with a lot of numbers and abilities lol, granted I've never done an actual D&D story (have wanted to learn at one point). so much work, all in hopes of a great story being developed in this more free reigned roleplay. I will try to make around 25-50 abilities that all of the characters have a chance to receive from.

So much plans! lol, Note: there will be combat abilities, and there will be non-combat abilities, so all depends on luck of the draw when I type everything up. Since I will be throwing in one or two abilities like 'Dungeon Management' and 'Store Management', with unique features to what they can do, among other abilities.

I think half the fun is actually gaining experience and "leveling up" and all that through hard work. I agree with you that OP protags can be fun, but then having them let's say being able to manipulate all elements at the very beginning and then being able to level a city five chapters later is a little over the top. It saps the adventuring fun out of it.
Also, having said that, will you be including stats, leveling systems and all that to this Rp? Or would you be going for the simpler learning each stage of your abilities a little at a time?

Also, how do you plan to draw lots for abilities? Using a dice system, random generator, etc? (Sorry for all the questions ^-^" )

"Store Management" doesn't sound too bad. I can think of various ways it would be a good support ability for a group.

I do agree there, being able to instantly destroy a city in blink of an eye can take away some of the character development, but should the character grow to be able to do such then that's a different story lol.

Well I do plan to try to set up stats for everyone and a leveling system. Which basically I'll make posts stating like 'You have leveled up strength:# -- #' or atlest try to do this. It's first time handling a rp with a kind of complex system, most other roleplays I've done been bit more simple or I just develop it as I go. of course I might not be able to do so and have to rely on a much more simple system only giving numbers to things like Health, Mana, abilities and level.

when it comes to drawing lots, I was planning on just making a list of abilities in a text document, assign random numbers to them in the number range of the amount of abilities, and just have people pick a random number without letting them know what ability is what number, after the roleplay starts and everyone can see their own 'status' I would reveal the abilities they obtained, and any other hidden abilities they gained for one reason or another. I don't know any fancy things I can use to do it any other way really. Don't have any real dice (which sucks, wish I had a full dice set).

"Store management" would be a kind of ability that would allow one to access a menu and manipulate their own store with that menu, they will have to pick out a 'base' first off and then by using Money and Mana they can Buy things for the store, or upgrade the store, etc... I kind of wish there was a proper story with this kind of ability, but the closet is the reincarnating as a vending machine, and his thing is limited to his vending machine body. of course they will have to pay money in order to get the store and everything to begin with.

"Dungeon Management" would be similar but it would rely entirely on Mana and a special resource they can obtained called 'Dungeon Points' they gain from living things dying in their dungeon, and can turn various items they bring in the dungeon or others bring in the dungeon into dungeon points. of course they have to take ownership of the items from intruders by taking them from the intruders lol. (loved stories around this ability)

I understand the need for questions so don't worry, shows me your even more interested into the roleplay, the roleplay is going to be full of a lot of things so it does require questions, all I can hope is that I can develop a good enough roleplay for all those who wish to join it

Well if you want to have it simpler, we can always start at level one, with a set health, mana and stamina bar, say 100 for each category no matter what your ability is. Then as you level up one, you can add like 10 pts to one or even three of them. We can vote to have the usual stats like strength, dexterity, agility, physical damage and so on because personally, I don't think we should have it, especially if some have non-combat abilities. I reckon those can be but under strengths and/or weakness. Having too many complex mechanisms might scare some people away, unless you plan to have this at High-casual or Advanced, then a more complex system might be fine.

Those abilities sound great. I'm glad to see you did give them some thought.
(P.S: I do like the Dungeon Master ability portrayed in various light novels/manga. Like "Overlord". But the main protag is rather OP.)

One more question. The OCs will wake up in the other world at the age they "died", right?
Also, can an OC be 18+? Not like 30, obviously, but I've always been playing characters that are at least 18 or over. Just a personal preference, but if they need to be 16/17, I can probably make an exception.

Well there wouldn't be any stat for physical damage or defense or anything like that. The stats I was thinking off was the basic stats that would just become number representation of their abilities. So if someone had 100 strength they could be seen somewhat strong, but just because they have the stat doesn't mean they know how to use that strength. Granted if it is to complex then I'll just ignore those basic stats and do the minimal things that need it. Granted wouldn't do a Stamina bar, instead I would just make posts stating fatique hitting the characters, mainly because the stamina bar would be slightly agitating to handle, but if I don't put my hand in some people may have their characters go fighting for days without rest and not even get tired. After all most of my posts would be world related, event related, or NPC related. -Note: In fights I tend to make fights challenging when it's something I very much like, though some fights would be easy, while others impossible. though fights around equal level wont be a simply easy win-

I normally put my rps into the free section because it just easier for me to have it in there since that's where most of my rps are so easier access for me, granted all the other rps I'm in currently have came to a halt for one reason or another :(. I am not super strict in terms of posting length rules since I like people to do what their comfortable with, and if they can get into the rp they can start to post more and more, getting a lot better as they go. My own posts will probably be stuck as a paragraph+ depending on the situation. Granted probably be better to just put it in the casual section to draw people in.

Ya I love all kinds of different things, and I can use inspiration from other abilities to create unique or similar things. if that's the Overlord I think it is, it's not that much of a 'Dungeon Master' more of like a 'Monster Guild Master' than anything else lol, granted he is insanely OP. When I look at 'Dungeon Master' I always see them properly building a dungeon in the stories, like 'Evil God Average' though that is a more laid back one of the stories. Ore Dungeon or something like that was the first dungeon story I had started to read and got me hooked, though unfortunally that story only has like 6 chapters because the author stopped writing and most of his stuff was deleted in his country.

I had planned for the OCs to be age range of 16-18. Basically highschool students, Since I'm already thinking up the story for the cause of this to happen kind of classic class trip accident, yes they will reincarnate the age they died, would be probably to much to have them begin as babies lol, that would work more for a personal 1x1 roleplay that they plan on taking a long time on. Reason why 16-18 because I do like have young like characters, since it can make the story funnier and more interesting. For some reason some rps when I don't put an age range I get characters that are like 30+ and I am just staring at the screen like '...wow..' lol.

I will probably have to get a co-gm or two at one point, to help out in some details and to take care of things When I am unable to. If we get one more person I would work nearly immediately on the OOC, but for current time I plan to take my time flushing out details, while I read some light novels I've been meaning to read to give me more inspiring ideas while I begin to type up a Microsoft Word Document lol.
-If things go well enough in this roleplay, I might try to take portions from it and try to right my own light novel lol, I had started to write one before but I haven't gotten back to it in some time, and never released it to others as of yet besides on my own rp site-

lol don't give me those trolling ideas lol. I don't normally even bother with things like trolling so don't worry there.

I have a lot of the information for the OOC and powers typed up, though still welcoming any unique ideas for powers, or even monsters besides the classic type of monsters. also welcoming suggestion on what section the rp should be placed in. Casual or Free, granted I am not strict on posting length stuff so it wont affect any of the rp rules.

Put both tags, casual and free. And for powers, add a "phasing one" phases in and out of this plane like Obito from Naruto.

I had meant where to put the forum, not the tags. I have to place the roleplay in one of the forums. and that's the second request for a phasing power. which would be one of the most overpowered abilities in the group lol. I'll probably have to limit it slightly. Literally the most powerful ability in the group really.

Once I know what Forum to place the rp in I can start getting the OOC set up. which would only take a few seconds to a few minutes when I know since I have pretty much everything typed up.

@olcharlieboi Place it in the Casual section, because it gets the most people looking in than Advanced or Free. But you can always add somewhere visible that it is more free-casual.
