It's time for my anual tradition of making a holiday themed RP post!
Lilly Jatmoore's Christmas Post
Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro' the
house barracks. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse... because everyone had already passed the fuck out from the drinking earlier in the evening. Both armies had come to a temporary truce and ceased operations for the days between Christmas Eve and New Years, so celebrations were lively to say the least. One of the Yggdist chaplains on base had organized a Christmas Eve service but much to his dismay, the barrels of wine intended for the end of service toast had been... shall we say, acquired by some of the soldiers ahead of time, leading to an unintended night of drinking and excess at the service's conclusion. Needless to say, when the officers found out about this, they were less than pleased. The an army officer dragged the soldiers from Gallia's proper military back to their barracks for disciplinary action, but the militia officer who accompanied him was much less formal. After putting on a good show of yelling at them for the rest of the command, he allowed them to sneak back to their barracks with what ever they could carry to continue their revelries (with the promise they would keep it down to a reasonable level).
Lilly had never drank before. Ok well not quite 'never', a glass of wine with dinner was common at her mansion, but alcohol was being consumed at a rate far in excess of what she was used to. Not to be outdone, she tried to keep up with the toasts only to find out she was a lightweight when it came to alcohol and very quickly ended up passed out on a certain fireteam leader's lap. When the next morning came about, she woke up with a massive hangover. After rolling out of bed and staggering out of the barracks (someone had been kind enough to make sure she ended up in her bunk last night), she made her way to the mess hall. Having woken up later than most of the squad, breakfast was already in full swing by the time she got there. As part of the holiday celebrations, the army chefs had prepared enormous amounts of eggs, bacon, toast and coffee for everyone to enjoy - something that was vital for those nursing hangovers like herself. After getting her food and staggering over to the table containing the members of squad 4 (in various states of consciousness), she sat down and began to eat, trying to cure the headache her hangover was causing. Despite it's persisting effects on her health, last night's celebrations were fun and she was glad that everyone had managed to survive the year. In the distance, the bell in Fort Breda's chapel rang, signaling the start of the Christmas service for the few who were sober enough to attend it. That was right... another day of celebration stretched out before them. Addressing the rest of the squad, Lilly spoke up.
"Merry Christmas, everyone."
