@Nexus Prime Alright. I didn't mean like they already knew each other, I meant sort of making a friendship in the future. But alright.

If it happens in the course of the game, I'm not going to reject it. But I'm not a fan of forcing interactions just for the sake of it.

@Dedonus So, are we accepted, my good sir?

You were accepted on the previous page, yes.

I'm thinking about starting my character off at a rooftop event with a bait and switch villain interrupting the festivities, what's a good character to use?

@NubianLegend Why not T'Challa's brother/rival, Man Ape?

I don't think he's ever been T'Challa's brother, unless they were just calling each other 'brother' cause they're homies and such. I call all my friends brother from time to time, to the point I sound like Macho Man or Hulk Hogan LOL

Not in the main, 616 universe. That's only in Ultimate.

Yeah M'Baku was always just one of the greatest warriors who tried overthrowing the government when T'Challa took a leave of absence. I'm not as familiar with the Ultimate stuff, when I saw BP actually turning into a panther I was done.

I am interested in learning more about the Ultimate F4 though, particularly Ben Grimm's transformation into an energy being of some kind after hooking up with Sue after Reed left the team. I just never got around to finding the right wiki article...

The ultimate universe is really nice if you want to update some more... outdated comic characters. I mean it's still cannon in Marvel 616 universe that Clowk and Dagger got their powers from synthetic heroine, which is all sorts of ridiculous.

I thought they were mutants? The whole getting powers from drugs I thought was something they were working into the story to separate it more in the new Freeform live action series? In the comics I *think* drugs may have awakened their powers, but they were always still considered mutants to the point of joining the Dark X Men undercover during Siege.

I believe the drug caused a reaction with their latent x-gene?

When thinking about alternate Marvel Universes, I was always a fan of the Mangaverse. Megascale Metatalent Response Team Fantastic Four for the win! And what they did with Spiderman, Dr. Strange, and Galactus was interesting, as well as the Venom Clan or whatever they were called. Surprisingly Avengers and the X-Men were the worst though...

They've gone back and forth being classified as mutants and mutates for their entire publication, so the short answer is that the origin of their powers is whatever makes them useable for the comic they're in. Even when they were recruited by Osborn for his X-men team they admitted that they didn't think they were, and Osborn said something along the lines of 'the public thinks you are, that's all that matters'. I just decided to go the magic/chthon angle because a lot of what's known about the Darkforce Dimension supports it, it really simplifies things, and I think it'll be interesting to explore.

I've never actually read much of the Mangaverse. Have any recommended titles?

I didn’t much care for the Mangaverse when I went through it last time, so I’m probably not a great source of non-bias but I kind of enjoyed their introduction of Antoinette Stark?

There weren't that many, a few #1 specials I think and then a couple bookend crossover issues. It's all collected in something like two trade paper backs. Manga Spiderman got his own series but IDK how long it lasted. I liked the F4 because of the spin on their powers and being something like Power Rangers in that the Megascale made them giants using their powers. The Thing for example had geo-kinesis and built up his rock armor to giant man status to take down giant threats. The female Torch had a giant fire Megascale form, Sioux had an invisible giant suit, and Reed just became super stretched out and gigantic. Spiderman had Pete as a ninja in training with the Spider Clan until his sensei Ben is killed by this universe's Venom who's a member of an opposing clan. It was interesting in the #1 special how many of Venom's goons looked like other Spiderman enemies like Rhino, Electro, and Vulture.

The one downside to the universe was the Hulk was basically Godzilla. But he was just a giant who looked exactly the way Hulk normally does. Avengers were like a poor attempt at Voltron, and the X-Men was just all over the place.

@Nexus Prime I assumed he was thinking of the Ultimate universe, considering only in Ultimate T'Challa's last name is Udaku.

I've never joined an advanced RP before, but I feel like I'm capable.

Are we allowed to use original characters or is it superheroes/villians only?
