You sit at your computer desk and boot up your laptop, you click on the game "chronicles of Eden.exe".
"I've waited so long to play this!" You exclaim, you enter your username and password and create your character, race, class, appearance, name, "done!", you finish creating your character it loads and the words "enter into the world of Eden" appear before you, you click yes... sparks of electricity come from your laptop, you feel your body being pulled left and right, you black out.

"Ugh, what happened?" You say wearily, you stand and witness the strange world around you, the people around you with names above their heads...

The game started out well. I like the trees. Very cool to walk around like this. I can see all around. The hills look so real. So, how do I catch my first pet? Do I need to find a rock to click for the help button? Maybe I should just yell, maybe not yell. "hello can anyone hear me?".

As I got home I ran to my pc to play the new game that I bought called chronicles of eden. I got it started, made my character, and all that jazz but when I pressed start I blacked out

When I woke up I opened my eyes to see a world around me that was unfamiliar to me "where am I.", I asked looking around at my surroundings.

She awoke to bright sunlight, so painfully bright that she had to block it, pitifully, with an ebon hand. Perhaps her eyes were so sensitive from her unhealthy gaming schedule and also her countless hours spent in s—

Hold up.

She examined her hand, a shade of deep black. That was not her hand.

Cesira's thoughts raced, synapses firing, trying to make sense of the senseless. Events did not add up. Where was she last? ...An internet cafe, the staff glared at her because she only ordered water—it wasn't her fault that everything the cafe served was overpriced! More besides, Cesira's friend texted her, inviting her over. That girl always had the best food. Thus, she was going to finalize her character, order another glass of water out of spite—and promptly put it in a termos for the trek.

Not the point. Get back on target.

She must've accidentally started Chronicles of Eden—totally needed a better name—as logic would dictate. Now what was her friend's name going to be again...? Something from a fairytale, that a silly girl would like... Ah. Snow White. Cesira chucked, for the name fit the girl in question wonderfully.

Was Cesira... no. Looking above her, she noted the name: Frau S.

Looking around her, there weren't so many players nearby yet. The town looked fairly standard, but she was expecting as much from a starting area. If only she remembered how to bring up the menu... As she wandered, some players seemed to be panicking, for whatever reason. The dark elf shook her head, assuming that the players were new to VRs in general. She kept her expression stoic, wanting to give off an air of confidence, and observed those around her, hoping to find Snow White.

She needed to find a way to /tell. Perhaps she could make her floating name disappear? Prima le cose più importanti!

If she were lucky, all races and classes started in the same n00b area. Running slender fingers through her long silvery-white hair, she walked casually, slowly, deliberately clicking her heels upon the stone path of the humble town.

Because really, what was the worst that could happen? Frau S gave a wry smile.

@medalliah Ended up changing more than I expected. I think it's a little bit better as well.

The day had all started off so well. Lily had sent a text to her friend to come over. Free house! Parents awa all day! She admired how well Chesa played, and wanted to be more like her. A whole day of gaming? She'd been ready and looking forward to this! She'd prepared all the snacks, lots of drinks, and settled in.

There was a odd shock, and everything went black....

She opened her eyes, blinded by the light filtering through the leaves onto her face. She sat up, rubbing her eyes. When did she go to a forest? Did she get drunk? Lily panicked; she had only had a few sips of alcohol when Chesa let her try it, she didn't remember drinking more than that! She brought her hand up to her face, looking up. Then she saw something odd.

A name icon, which said Snow White.

Odd. Was she having a dream about the game? She looked down at herself and made a surprised sound. These were her casting robes! What was going on?

Slowly she stood up, and looked around. She called out into the forest. "Chesa? Chesa? Are you there? Where are we?"

Adrian sighed and rubbed his hand through his hair as he sat down at his computer. It had been a long day for him and it was just now he managed to get some time to game. What did he do first? He opened up the game labeled "Chronicles of Eden," a game recommended to him by a friend. It seemed alright at the title and he had no complaints about the character customization.

But then, it happened. Adrian had suddenly blacked out after sparks of electricity had shot out from his computer. Was he dead? Was He unconscious? Who knew.

When he did wake up, he covered his eyes. Why was it so bright and where was he? The last he checked, his attic didn't have any working lights. After what he assumed was a few minutes, he removed his hand and opened his eyes. What did he see first?

He saw that he was outside, clearly not even at his home anymore. His surroundings were rather strange. Wooden buildings in disrepair were all around him and stalls with people manning them, but that was not what had caught his attention. What had caught his attention was the fact that there were people all around him, names above their head along with the name "Cyphos" above his. Wasn't that the name he had put in for his character?

He rubbed his chin as he hummed. If a name was above his head and he wasn't home, does that mean he is in Chronicles of Eden? The thought had perplexed him. When has anyone heard of people being trapped in games outside of fantasy novels and anime? Putting aside the thought, he looked at those at the stalls.

Some of the players had been yelling at people who were behind stalls. Was it possible that those behind the stalls were players as well? Possibly, possibly not. Adrian frowned as he started walking towards a tall building that stood out from all the rest. Hopefully, he can find some of his friends that said they were going to play.

And if not, well... he'll just have to figure it out from there.

Jon stood from his sprawled position on the ground, around him were many strange people with names above their head, was this the chronicles of Eden? As soon as Jon processed the thought he moved into a jog, then a sprint, he zoomed through the market like area passing many confused people like himself.

Upon nearing a tall significant building Jon saw a name known to him, Cyphos, the username of an online friend he promised he'd try to meet up with.
"Hey, Cyphos!" He exclaimed, it was strange seeing a "real" version of Cyphos, now he'd just have to find white Mage.

Of course Grace had to be one of the first to play Chronicles of Eden - her NEET status demanded it: If there was a new game coming out, Grace would have it preordered. Almost all of the walls in her small apartment was filled floor-to-ceiling with game cases and merchandise. Of course her parent's disapproved, but at least she wasn't filling their house with her obsession.

The young woman sat in her dark apartment, curled up in her desk chair as she fiddled about with her character creation. "Oh my god, there's beastmaster?! Need!" she excitedly exclaimed, immediately having to whip her cursor to it and select the option. The very moment that Grace had hit "confirm," her desktop sparked, and her headset had electrocuted her, knocking her out.

Grace awoke to the bright glare of the sun in her eyes, causing her to have to shield them with an arm. She couldn't remember anything after her computer sparked and shocked her. She certainly hoped it was okay, otherwise she would have to find something else to occupy her time with.

Eventually, Grace sat up, dropping her arm from her face. As she looked about her surroundings, Grace couldn't help but wonder wait... How did I get in here?. She was sitting on the edge of a field, and all she could see was green everywhere - she definitely wasn't in the real world, because she couldn't think of anywhere that was this lush. She wondered if she had died and she was sitting in limbo, but she'd noticed something that crushed that theory right away: A name floated above her head: Vulenn.

Grace could feel the subtle breeze dance across her stomach. But how can I feel that? I'm wearing a sweater for Christ's sake. Upon looking down, Grace noticed that her midriff was almost completely bare, save for the strap of cloth that connected her shorts to her barely-a-shirt. She didn't seem to react much, just simply letting out a quiet "or not..." The fact of the matter was that her mind was racing as she was internally fangirling over the complexity of the game code. Sure she expected to look like her character - logically it made sense to look exactly like your character; but she never expected to feel her senses in-game.

She couldn't help herself, but Grace, rather, Vulenn, suddenly exclaimed, jumping in her place before happily dancing on the spot. As she danced, she turned in place and was shaking her fists about; happy laughter escaped her mouth, and with good reason - there was no game as complex and amazing as this one: It was definitely getting a 5-star rating.

The moment Adrian heard his in-game name being called, he looked around, only to notice a player named Soap was the source. "Oh, hey!" He smiled as he waved to him. All things considered, this may or may not be one of his friends. Of course, Adrian being Adrian, he wouldn't take the chance of mistaking someone as being one of his pre-existing friends again.

He knew that one of his friends said that their username would be Soap, but there is always the chance that someone had actually taken the name before his friend. Hoping for the former of it being one of his friends his friend, Adrian turned to Soap and walked over to him. "What can I do for you?

"uh, mate, it's me! Soap! We met on a roleplay forum (:3) a few months back." he explained, "I didn't know if you would be here... but look at this place, it really is Eden isn't it?", Jon admired the world around them, it looked much like the images posted on the game website. It felt real as well, too real, like a living dream. "are we able to log out at all? This isn't like an Sao situation, is it?"

"It really seems that way." Adrian nodded in agreement. "As for longing out? I'm not exactly sure. I mean, I don't even know if there is a menu to even open."

He rubbed his left arm, taking a look at the tall building. "Now, if this is an SAO situation, we are absolutely screwed. I mean, it would take way too long to complete this. Anyway, on another subject, wanna go check out that building?"

sure, I guess... I still have another friend I was gonna try to find in game.", Jon thought of White Mage and wondered if she was alright, she was another person he'd met on a roleplay forum, Jon had ran through about the whole town, she was not been seen at all, maybe there are different spawn points, either way he'd have to find a way to open the menu and message her.

So the town was a bust. To make matters worse, she never told Lily her character's name or class since she was undecided before she went to the cafe. Thus, she'd have to spot Lily, or rather Snow White first. Though Frau S doubted she'd have much difficulty as the girl rarely varied her characters in games.

Perhaps that was why Frau S chose to be a Cantor, a class capable of support and some healing, to complement Lily who always played the healer. Yet the dark elf's lips formed a sardonic, self deprecating grin nonetheless.

Taking a path out of town, one she noted players entering from, she hoped to find her friend. None of the usual commands for bringing up menus worked, oddly enough. Although she could've sworn she read the basic commands earlier... Likely, she got it mixed up with another game.

Shrugging, she'd figure it out eventually. She always did.

The trees softly swayed in gentle breezes, her—if memory served right—dark red, nearly black, eyes became transfixed. In the town, she didn't have time to pay attention to the insanely awesome little details that Chronicles of Eden possessed for she had to examine every name she could find. The forest proved wider, freer.

She felt like a real adventurer. If she were to emulate her character's persona—

"Chesa? Chesa? Are you there? Where are we?"

Only one person would call that name! Cesira ran to the voice, assuming that the game could decently mimic how far sound traveled and whatnot. Regardless, she called back, "Lily~"

Lily, or rather Snow White as she seemed to be now, had stayed by the tree that she woke up by. She could see the town, and she considered going in, but if she was out here then Chesa had to be out here too? So she remained on her guard, looking around, until she heard her shouts being replied to

@Sodie Pop "Lily~"

She knew that voice! It was coming from the town!

"Chesa?!" she shouted again, finally working up the courage to leave the tree and walking towards the village "I'm at the forest! Where are you?" she shouted again, walking slowly towards the sound she thought the voice came from. Holding her cloak around her, even though it would easily stay there, more as a comfort blanket at this point than the magic-boosting robes it was programmed for. She knew once she found Chesa she'd be ok. She just had to find her!

She reached the entrance of the village, and froze. She just said she was at the forest, what if she missed Chesa? What if she wouldn't recognise Chesa, or Chesa wouldn't recognise her? This could be bad...

Adrian raised a brow. "Oh? Another friend? We should actually try to find them instead. We can always come back to this building later."

"But, on another note, we really need to find out how to open the menu if there is one." He crossed his arms and turned his gaze towards the sky.

"alright, any idea where to find her, and we need to find out how to open this 'menu'.", Jon made a few useless hand motions and exclaimed words like "Menu! Start! Escape!", all in vain. "c'mon bro, let's make another run of the town, maybe She hasn't spawned yet.", Jon grabbed Adrians' arm and started running... they reached the entrance of the town leading to the forest, a girl was shouting lily, then another shouted Chelsa, where had Jon heard those names before, then the girl shouting chelsa appeared with the name Snow White, "Snow white!" Jon exclaimed.

"Chesa?! I'm at the forest! Where are you?"

Upon hearing her name again, Cesira—"Chesa" by the few that knew her or had difficulties with her name—became emboldened, racing deeper into the forest. And then she spotted her friend, clutching her white cloak about her small frame as if it would keep all her woes at bay. Strands of long, tawny-blonde danced in the languorous winds.

Holding up a dark hand in greeting, she smirked vivaciously because Cesira didn't need to read the name above the lithe girl's head to know it was Snow White. "Keep your knickers straight, girlie. I meant to head to your place first. Dumb me started the game by accident. Top tier VR, to have you so panicky." She winked.

She played with the ends of her silvery hair. Maybe she should grow her hair this length in the real world?

"I know you didn't pick Battle Mage so is it Healer or White—"

"Snow white!"

—she was promptly cut off by a young man in leather gear. Narrowing her eyes, he seemed the sort to enjoy a dead rat or two. The man—Soap, rather—did not arrive alone. With him was a tall human with long, for a man anyway, white hair and was named "Cyphos".

The urge to emulate her character struck her once more, thus she bowed gracefully, dark eyes not leaving the pair. She spoke in a voice most melodic, even allowing her old accent to emerge to further the deception of being a dark elf, "My greetings, humans."

Lily didn't jump too much as Chesa had approached her from behind. Well ok, she jumped a lot, and spun round wide-eyed. She heard the voice, and that calmed her a lot.

"Oh wow, you're a dark elf! That looks so cool" she said with a smile "hi! I'm sorry, I um...I got stuck. The VR in this game is really weird, I don't even know how to exit the game. I've never seen game graphics this real before. I don't even really remember starting the game properly, just a weird sensation and then I was laying in a forest."

She looked down at her robes, laughing at her comment.

"I'm always the white mage! I like being a healer" her normal answer. She was very predictable "what are you playing?"

@Shmektheshmuck"Snow white!" Jon exclaimed.

The girl spun round, looking for the sound of whoever was calling her. Two more humans, both with the names above their heads. She kind of just...waved to them.

"Hello?"

Adrian couldn't help but give a near silent laugh as Soap attempted to open the menu. While slightly rude, he just couldn't help it. It really isn't that often you see this sort of thing, even in fantasy novels or anime. When told they were gonna go for another run around the town, he nodded and responded with, "After you, bud." When they had reached the entrance, Adrian couldn't help but frown. A forest in an MMO this close to a town?

That was just screaming mob zone not that it mattered just yet. As Soap said the name Snow White, Adrian looked over at the forest, finally noticing that there was indeed a player with that name. Was this the friend they were searching for? Most probable. When Snow White waved, Adrian waved back.

Adrian frowned as he realized there was a fourth humanoid in the area, a female Dark Elf under the name Frau S. He couldn't tell if this being was an NPC or player, not that it mattered currently. "Hello." He replied to them. In all truth, he was rather tempted to just speak in Icelandic, but he'd much rather attempt to be a gentlemen since he didn't know how the others would react.

He leaned over to Soap and whispered. "Another friend of yours?"

"no, she might be a quest giver since she's so close to the forest." Jon whispered back, "Snow White, It's good to see you here... so you decided to join the game after all.", Jon turned to the dark elf, she was different, would a player say "my greetings, humans"? Only an npc would be that in character when first meeting someone, I think. "Are you a quest giver? Hey, Cyphos, are you getting a quest tab? What about you, Snow?" Jon asked unaware that she was actually a player.
