@hivekiller makes sense, and no more like their characters would fade into the background, allowing a chance for them to return but probably only one chance. Also hive two things I will state about your post will quick. The first being the whole branch thing, there was a reason he started with that bladeless hilt though he seems to have not even thought about it. The branch wouldn't be able to hold the spell pretty much at all and incinerate instantly. it's to weak of an item to use as a catalyst for a magic weapon. also secondly don't go controlling the monster's actions, it's kind of one of my only parts to control the enemies in the fights. You attempting to control one of the monsters would be the same if you attempted to control one of the other player's characters, I will end up overriding parts of people's posts a lot when they just assume the monster would do a specific action, or try to control the monsters. Also none of the goblins have a polearm type weapon. they all just have clubs, and they aren't that obvious in their fighting style. It's not like regular goblins you see in games and such, these guys aren't weak lol.
Like I've stated before I don't do 'easy' fights. Unless the player's characters can massively out power the enemy or the enemy is just a total idiot, the enemy will be a challenge to fight. So most things that hope to be one shot kills or any quick kills, will probably be avoided depending on the enemy their facing at the time.
-edit-: oh and it's not like his immune to his own weapon element either, so if he holds something directly touching the element he would still get hurt, like holding a stick directly that just suddenly combusts into fire probably is going to be hot and hurt.
