Kira was able to have sensed twelve as she percieved as Eric did through her enlightenment, this was not for Kira to know. Kasumi's suggestion worked so well because she wanted to take her leave; she knew she didn't permanent magic of this kind. The real stuff had all been encapsulated at home. The most she ever used her new abilities for was shielding from ultraviolet waves so she didn't get sunburnt. She never played any nasty trick on anyone with her invisibility, and this was done not out of respect, but of fear of people like these who coveted such things. She knew that these others wouldn't understand her hesitation; even she didn't understand it more than a gut feeling. It just felt right now. Kira addressed the leader, Gavin. "I'm afraid, sir, that I can't go along with all of this. I don't seek further communion with magic. And furthermore, I don't seek to be set apart-- antagonized-- in any form, more than I already am. Why can't I just be satisfied with with my current state of affairs? This problem, now that I been given its particulars, is one I don't find especially pleasing". Kira left the room after protection herself with bend light, glad that she had told the taxi driver to keep the gas running. It felt pleasant to have finally left those people; the people burning by their efforts.

Marcus Nickleson

Marcus looked amongst the characters of the room. It had filled quickly, and people were quick to add their views on the situation. They began to talk. A particular individual, taking the form of a foreign woman, began to deeply explain some findings from everything within her scholarship. It was interesting to hear, far too interesting. It kept his attention towards it, to the point where he blocked out most of the others. Whether it was the information being useful to him or whoever, or the fact he just liked hearing more and more about these people...It was a strange puzzle that may never be solved. Both her and Gavin were talking of similar backgrounds that Marcus could benefit from, in the terms of learning what he'd really become.

His fingers slid in-between one another, on a cyclical pattern, as they fumbled amongst one another. What was he to exactly say to anyone here? He stood out like a saw thumb. A Scotsman in an American Motel, filled to the brim with different races and magical abilities as quickly discovered. It was almost difficult to take in, and his attention began to fade slightly at the mass confusion within his mind. From what he could tell, Marcus was the only person struggling to keep his abilities under-full acknowledgement. It was more than difficult, nearly impossible on some levels.

Then Gavin mentioned the government. The Government...They were apparently after them. After all of them...Were they misled, or was there a higher expectation that a lone Scotsman more to a surprise to them. If he knew this, then what did he know about Marcus, and everyone else? This sudden exclamation had sent chills up and down his spine as he thought of what was going on. He took a step back momentarily, placing a palm against his head. It was slightly aching from the shouting, loudness of the room, interruption of one another and thought-processing of everything to come. Today was not a good day to feel like this. And this, hopefully, subtle movement may of put more eyes and ears against him. Eventually, he regained his balance and lowered his hand. It all began to make him second-guess.

He walked towards the Japanese woman, switching glances between herself and Gavin with a look of confusion and worry. What he was to do was simply unknown, as he was questioning his own morals. Yet he chose to speak regardless...Finally speaking up amongst the group chatting away.

"Find tablets? Didn't realise I'd signed up for a role in the next Indiana Jones..." He managed to pull a genuine smile, towards the two. They seemed to be some of the few not bickering or trailing off on their own. "I'm just worried about what you said...About being hunted...I mean...Like...Just the thought of being thrown outside of my own living grounds as an outsider..." He had no idea on whether these people were telling the truth, or just sceptic about their own congress and political leaders based on past oppression and segregation to those of normal human standards. The ideas of being a Magi...was it really a risk? He began to doubt himself more and more, but let out a sigh and placed a hand onto his head.

"Fuck...Fuuuuck...I shouldn't of came here. I'm sorry...Before I got your message, I was working a late shift in the Police Department...It all happened, all activated without any meaning to. They already know who I am, what I am...hopefully not where I am...You really want me here to be a potential danger to you?"

His eyes darted between the same two, who seemed mature and focused on the situation at hand. This was indeed most troublesome. Was it his actual opinion, or a cover-up to learn more information? He didn't even know his own actions anymore, and just followed through their commands based upon what he was told to do. That's what he always did, didn't he? He nodded to the two, and held out a handshake for them both, after psyching himself up towards minor confidence. His deep, Scotsman accent rolled slowly and quietly off of his tongue.

"I don't know about anyone else here...Or even you two...But if you want me to put myself as a use towards these strange, strange abilities and these tablets...Then by my word, you have my hand, gun and unknown power to bring to the table. Your age doesn't matter, but your tasks do...Just let me do what's right for now."

He waves back at Morgana as he listens to Gavin silently. He sniffs the air absent mindlessly and smells twelve mages, hold on twelve? He could only see eleven people in the room including himself. He scans the room silently looking for any sign of the twelve person and any spies. He got to vaguely see the cantrips of Gavin and the mention of the Tablets.
He would defiantly notice Morgana move around the crowd to stand behind him and he slightly chuckled to himself as he 'shielded' the young lady. It would be at this moment he would also hear Eric's shout and wince at the pain that shot through his enhanced hearing and the 'spy' uncloak herself. He looks behind himself at Morgana, "You might want to cover your ears."

Neil believed him, the story sounded right and he did not need that much proof to be convinced. His gut was telling him that Gavin was telling the truth and Neil found that when he did not listen to his gut he got in more trouble then if he would have listened in the first place. He looked around the room at the others in the room, he could tell that there was some doubt. Then some guy was talking about someone in the room hiding from the rest of us and this made Neil chuckle.

When the old man spoke about needing evidence and then the girl with the white hair just up and left like Gavin said he did not want to go to prom with her. All this kind of pissed Neil off and he snapped on the older man.

"You serious?! In all your years...bro you look like a man of science, I see them all the time at my university. 'The laws of science say this and that', well I am sorry that our un-explainable abilities just don't fit into the tiny cookie cutter mold you have in the pretty little head of yours. Gavin would not have called you, me or anybody else here if he was lying, I mean if the guy could find us I am pretty sure he could have killed us too. So why not have a little faith and if all else fails you can be the one to tell me 'I told you so' in the end." Neil said with anger in the beginning but then went calming towards the end.

He stood up, turned and looked at Gavin dead in the eyes. "Listen my old man told me that a man only has a few things in this world and his word is one of them so I will help you as long as you promise not to burn me in the end, seeing as we are already being hunted might as well find my friends where I can get them....But you stab me in the back and I'll take that knife and cut your throat. Now what do we need to do first?"he said this with a smile and then sat back down, Neil was serious. He had been betrayed all his life and was one for revenge and getting even.

"Oh, they're a set of five tablets that are all in one place; Mount Ararat in Turkey itself," Gavin said to Charles. "And thanks for your offer to help; it's good to see a fellow kid with a sense of duty." These compliments did not prevent him from chuckling when Eric called the young boy out on his bratiness, before calling Kasumi out of her invisibility, which, yes, Gavin can see with his High Magic.

In response to Mitsuki's words, Gavin would then say:

"Yeah, we should start our quest now. But as for a possible division into groups, I have an idea, actually. One group to delay those who would hunt us, and another to seek out the Tablets." The young man looked at Fenrir and Morgana, then, not knowing about what the latter currently felt.

Then Master Grey had to give Gavin a question the latter couldn't easily answer. Damnit, he was unprepared for that. But the eighteen-year old boy would recover enough to say:

"I didn't want to do this..." before opening a small portal the size of a soccer ball, placing his hand through it, and drawing out a sheaf of papers. Gavin would then walk over to Master Grey, and hand the sheaf over to the old man, before continuing:

"This sheaf contains my own research into the past and its myths and legends, as well as my own university's excavations in the Middle East before...complications struck. The records of said excavations involved finding ancient accounts, which are transcribed in the papers in authentic cuneiform*, with the style of the language itself so authenthic that only an expert with more experience in Mesopotamian culture than me could have faked them, and even then, someone as wise as you could see any inconsistency." And indeed, the papers and the cunieform records, as well as the English translations of the records, transcribed in them would look and seem authentic.

Then Kira just had to leave, after making it clear that she believed she can elude whatever was hunting them. Gavin fumed at that, but all he can say was:

"I do not seek to bind people here by force. But remember that people elsewhere are gunning for you!" And yes, he can see the power of her bent light. It didn't matter, what mattered was he had to accept this setback...and Kira's potential death.

Once Kira had left, Gavin would turn to Fenrir:

"Use your powers; summon a few spirits to keep Ms. Light safe until she changes her mind."

The young adult then looked at Marcus, knowing that the man wasn't telling the entire truth, but it was good enough, his offer was good enough for what its worth.

"Very well, your offer is accepted, Mr. Nickleson, but we will have to assign a watcher to you, just in case. I would suggest Eric for the job." He would then look at Morgana again; he didn't know what she was thinking, but the expression on her face was uncommitted; that much he can see.

"Those of you who don't want to join this quest, this is your last chance to back out. Note however that this isn't just a simple 'let's create a line of communication' with the Divine' mission. This quest is to erase the stigma against magic that exists now, so that Magi will be able to act openly while facing one last set of predjudices. More to the point, if we reconnect Heaven and Earth, Heaven will most probably reward us, even those of us who are not exactly paragons of virtue."

He then looked at Neil, and smiled.

"To be honest, if I were ever to betray you, it would be out of cluelessness rather than malice, aka I would be doing it because I was an idiot, not because I don't like you. As for what we need to do...I need you guys to settle your affairs online. We leave for Epirus, Greece, as soon as possible; some of you are masters of making fake papers, right?"

"As for why Epirus and not Mount Ararat directly?" he continued, "the answer is that the Tablets' hiding place can only be unlocked by the Key of Purgatory, a Key that can be acquired only from, well, Purgatory. And in Epirus lies the Necromantieon, a gateway to the Underworld where we can get the Key."

O'Ryan

Yeah, Gavin left his laptop behind, along with a draft of his message asking people to come with him to Brightwell, Illinois.

Charles Ignorance

Charles rolls his eyes at Eric's overheated commit. "It someone wants to stay hidden I say let them be that way, They must have their own reasons to not be visible" he simply states "by the way I did know they was there, just because their invisible doesn't mean their soul is hidden away" he states shaking his head. He did have his soul vision activated when he arrived, he was one of the final ones to arrive allowing him to see the souls of most of those here. "The Necromantieon huh... that sounds like my kind of place" Charles would mumble some rubbing his chin "..there may be some things there to give me more insight into the underworld" he says still mumbling thinking to himself.
Charles would glance towards Fenrir when he realized Gavin said something about spirits, that would cause Charles to raise an eyebrow in surprise and makes him wonder just what is this person's abilities. It caused him to activate his spirit vision again so he could focus on Fenrir's spirit to see if it is a good one itself or not.

"You never saw me. I am not here."

"Darlin.. You aren't John Cena. I can see you clear as day. I can smell ya, hear ya, and fell ya magic. Now please, don't try to pull that magic trick again and get up. I ain't plannin' on hurtin' ya." His tone became very exhausted. He didn't enjoy her trying to use magic on his mind, but he was fed up. He had been listening to everyone thus far, and after reaching a hand out to Kasumi as a sign of peaceful cooperation, he merely turned his head back to the people around the room and listened as Gavin began answering questions, before he decided to speak up again.

It was once Gavin finished his words that Eric cleared his throat and looked around the room. He surveyed each and every one of them with a furrow in his brow. His bottom lip was tight and his upper lip sneered at many of the comments that were made. His eyes only glanced back and forth a few times before they closed and he parted his lips to speak once more.

"This is new to us all. Yes, for a couple weeks, if that even, we have had this... magic. However many of you speak as if you have had this all your life. I would advise against that for many of you. Charles, for one. You are young Lad. You act like this magic is known to you all your life. But what would you do in a situation if you were hunted as we are now, backed into a corner, but without it? Don't answer. it is rhetorical. It meant to be an eye-opener for the realization that we are Magi. We are not learned Mages. We don't have decades of training, or study, or performance. This isn't like the tales we heard as Kids of Merlin, or the Ancient Wizards. We are all new to this, so ego's based on powers is a false sense of strength. Powers may fail, tactics may faulter, plans my go awry."Eric spoke sternly, but not threateningly at this moment. He turned his head back to Kasumi a moment, hoping she had taken his peace offering, before looking back around to them all again.

"I have no intentions of making anyone my enemy, or outing them from this group. We have already lost one, even knowing we are being hunted she chooses to leave. That should indicate something to you. We have magic, unspeakable talents, yet we are being hunted. What do these hunters think they can do, huh? I already know a vast majority of you are thinking such a thought. That is what is wrong though, if we are being hunted, don't you think there is a reason they are bold enough to do it? A plan, or some form of equivalent to us, that makes them capable of such act. We might have magic, but as it stands we don't have unison among us. We have egos, ideals, and disbelief." Eric continued on with his words for a moment before shaking his head.

"Either we band together, and we work together, with common-sense, or we die un-unified and with swollen heads. Hate me if you like, but I know when a blunt reaction is needed. We are hunted, and you all siply say: 'Let her be invisible if she wants.' That isn't how logic works, simple as that. I don't plan to run her off, but lurking isn't any better for this moment's circumstances." Eric simply nodded to them all as he finished his words. They carried on a bit longer than he expected honestly, he never planned to make a large class speech to them all as he did. However it couldn't be stopped, and it wasn't too bad in his own thoughts.

A seconds of taking a deep breath passed before Eric waved for Marcus to join him, which was over still next to Kasumi. He had to speak with Marcus, since Gavin so politely volunteered Eric to watch Marcus for the reason of baby-sitting him, for some reason or another. However he wasn't in the mood to dispute it, or question it. It gave him an opportunity to speak with yet another of the Magi and make a friend, as well as band them together.

"Aye! A pleasure, Marcus. So, I will be your 'Watcher'? Well, as I see it, we should get to know each other a bit, maybe not immediately, if you don't much feel like speakin'. But, I am always here to chat. I just wanted to say it'll be nice to have a partner around."

Kasumi

Kasumi watched as her suggestion didn't work, and she let out a sigh. She listened to Gavin before looking to the mans hand. Eventually, she grabbed it and pulled herself up. Then, she uncloaked herself. She was doing this mission anyway, she couldn't expect to stay in the shadows for ever, even if she wanted to. After everyone was finished talking, Kasumi stepped up.

"My name is Kasumi, if we're going to work together, we might as well know who everyone is, and if we are going to form two groups, it will be impossible without knowing what exactly everyone can do. As you all can see, I can turn myself invisible, from what I can tell magi are the only ones who can see me, for I have never been seen by mortals. I am able to teleport anywhere I can see. I can create an exact copy of myself which can do everything I can do except physically hurt somebody. This can be in any outfit I have ever worn. I can enhance my speed for a short time, making myself extremely fast, and I can pause time for a few seconds. Finally, this one may be more useful to you than the others. I can change the probability of things to my advantage, although this magic is one I haven't mastered as much as the others. I can change the probability of somebody slipping, somebody leaving the door open, somebody making a mistake, etc.

For my cantrips, I am able to create a small time bubble and speed time around that bubble to make things rusts, plants die, clocks to go faster. I can use my speed to make people think I am fully armed with swords. I can change my vocal cords to anyone's voice, as long as I hear it enough. Then I can put a single suggestion in anyone's head, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."

To prove some of these, Kasumi started to show what she could do, making her clone, teleporting a little ways in front of her, enhancing her speed and running to the other side of the room, and making it look like she was fully armed. She then put a time bubble around a plant and sped up time until it completely withered and died. Finally, she turned to everyone and spoke in Gavin's voice.

"Hello everyone. I am Gavin, you are all dismissed. Please leave immediately, you are no longer needed."

After that, she changed her vocal cords to her own once more.

"Knowing all the things I can do, what group would you suggest, Gavin, or you still don't need us?"

She gave a small smirk, showing that she enjoyed her little play with Gavin's voice. Honestly, she liked talking in other people's voices, she could make them say things that would make them look an utter fool.

Master Grey

Master Grey listened to Gavin up until he was handed the sheaf of papers. He looked through them quickly before smiling widely. This was amazing! He looked up to Gavin and gave a nod to him.

"Thank you very much. I will certainly read through these in my own time."

He then turned to Neil who had addressed him. Master Grey stepped up to him calmly and when he was in front of him, he spoke in a respectful tone.

"You are correct, I am a man of science, and I do like to see evidence with every unexplainable answer. In my years, I've found that there is always something to back up the claim or to explain things better. In this case, I was correct again. This may not explain everything but it may help me understand this new world of magic better, and that, sir is the sole reason why I came here today but please hear me when I say I will not leave this mission just because I got what I came for."

He then looked over to Kasumi who seemed to become more open now. What she said was very true. It would be difficult to form successful groups without knowing everyones skills and abilities. He listened to her and watched what she could do, although he noticed one advantage to her of everyone introducing themselves and telling everyone what to do.

"Miss Kasumi, I hope this isn't so we can all talk enough for you to gain our voice. However, you are correct that it would be difficult to form groups without knowing the skills and magic everyone processes. So, I shall go next. You can all call me Master Grey. I am strictly world magic. I can shoot lightning out of my finger tips or my 'wand' as you will. So can I with fire. I can control the earth, making a powerful fist that can grab or punch anyone I wish. I can bend water to my will, and finally I can channel any one element in me that I wish to make the elements I use stronger.

For my cantrips I process the ability do simple elemental manipulation, such as sparkling a fire in my hand, Using Water to water to hydrate someone. I can also create projections of schematics, dioramas and designs using the elements and magical projections."

Master Grey created a magical projection that showed him practising his magical abilities. Shooting fire and lightning out of his hands, creating a large fist from the earth, bending water to his will to create eight tentacles. He showed himself sparkling a fire in his hand, using water to water his plants but he didn't show himself channelling an element in himself for obvious reasons. After he was done he gave a gentle nod to everyone and step to the side for the next person.

Morgana Estrain

Morgana frowned as she watched and listened silently. The old man wanted evidence, a fair enough claim even, or perhaps especially, in light of magic. The 'invisible' girl thought she was some sort of jedi and was subsequently proven wrong. One left. The thuggish, practically bald boy accused the old man of not having faith. She let out a reflexive snort of distaste at his broad and painfully inaccurate assumption that sending them a message was the same thing as being able to kill them. Morgana ran her fingers over her rings hidden within her sleeves, it was a comfort to know that she was safe, even if she was entirely blindsided. The big man in front of her told her to cover her ears and Morgana merely looked up, and then further up, at him curiously. "I'll be fine, thank you." she said quietly. The suggestion was helpful in nature but Morgana felt it was made out of assuming she was frail. However it was odd that he'd bothered to do so in the first place. An interest in her safety, presumably, but why?

Morgana's analysis moved on. The other big man seemed to be taking the leadership role away from Gavin, interesting, at least most things he said made sense. Then the fun started. The jedi girl decided to showcase her magic and the old man did the same. Just as before the acts were scribbled into her notebook, though scribbles was a crude word to describe the elegant symbols that were etched into the paper. Perhaps... Perhaps she would stay simply to observe the magic. Morgana found watching the flow of magic being used to create the impossible to be fascinating. Even if they were going straight to hell, well, technically the level above it according to some people but the idea was the same. Perhaps she could reciprocate the big man's concern for her later along the line.

O'Ryan Cooper

As O'Ryan read through the draft letter on Gavin's computer, he immediately began writing down notes on where he had gone. This place called Brightville, Illinois. It seemed strange from the name itself. O'Ryan sighed to himself as he wrote down the town and began searching for directions. Oh boy... a road trip. O'Ryan had to get prepared for the trip and first thing in the morning he would take off for Gavin and whoever these other friends he seemed to be inviting.

Fenrir would sigh as he listened to the group bicker, "Gods above did he hate people who acted like children." He would silently think as they just wouldn't stop. His saving grace would be when the young Gavin would turn to him and say, "Use your powers; summon a few spirits to keep Ms. Light safe until she changes her mind." At this Fenrir would smile showing his enlarged canines and would hold his hand up to his mouth slowly exhaling a thick white mist.
The mist would thicken and separate into three separate entities. These entities would whisper in a strange language and Fenrir would respond back. They seem to nod shifting back into mist and begin slithering towards Ms. Light. All the while Fenrir's eyes turn from their normal hazel into a dark brownish almost black. These 'spirits' wrap around her feet and fade away slowly.
He would then notice that the others were still bickering and snarl slightly. Listening to the young lady behind him while looking "I'll be fine, thank you." At this he would sigh slightly, she probally thought he was calling her weak which wasn't the case as he holds two fingers up to his lips and lets out an ear-splitting whistle.

Morgana watched Fenrir's magic avidly. Spirits, how interesting. Now it seemed the big man was raising his hand up to- gah. Morgana took a physical step back in surprise as the alarming noise jarred her out of her analytic trance. Why! He could've said something like a normal person like I'm going to do something loud, This is going to be loud, Cover your ears because this is going to be loud, instead of something vague like- Morgana pulled the brakes on that metaphorical train of thought. That wasn't right. He had offered her advice solely for her benefit and she had ignored it. She was in the wrong "Sorry." Morgana mumbled quietly, feeling quite ashamed of herself for rudely ignoring the only person that had paid any attention to her. Pride had been the downfall of many a person, she would do better in the future to make sure it did not get the best of her again.

Neil accepted what Grey said and moved back to sit down not really caring anymore. He understood what the old man was saying and he would respect it as long as he did not get in the way. He turned to Gavin and listened to what he said and took some time to think about it, t made sense and Gavin was ready for their journey to save the tablets. Neil watched as some began to talk about what they could do and decided to stay quiet, it was then that a whistle could be heard.

"Damn that was loud." Neil said as he held is ears. Btu he thought it was cool that he was able to use spirirts and all but was it really necessary.

Gavin's words were confident and wise, especially for his age. The beings that struck everyone's dreams must've filled him with a lot of power and wisdom, which both comforted and worried him all at the same time. He was prepared for this? In two weeks he'd seemed to have learnt so much that could potentially fill his own library, if he had the funds to make one and write every single book. He was prepared to conflict the troubles of Grey, and was prepared for...Other things. That was when he turned to Marcus, after indirectly protecting the woman who left via someone else's magic.

A...Watcher? What was that supposed to mean? If anything, why was he being given a watcher? He began to think. Deeply...He was being observed, looked upon, yet this cast of insanely diverse characters were to continue on this trip without the same treatment. It was worrying, even further. He imagined what was actually happening, what was being planned behind this closed door whilst he worked for Gavin. He didn't know the boy. He didn't know what he could do or anything about him, other than he was supposedly another Magi and that he had great knowledge on the subject at hand. Now being commanded to be watched from another one of his associates, it was almost threatening to his soul, as he began to visually look quite disturbed at the possibilities. Perhaps those they referenced hunting them were the ones who sent him. If that were the case, it'd be wise to question his morals, as well as these individuals'. Marcus felt like this could be a terrible downfall to everything his life had lived up towards. Betrayal on both sides...Stabbed in the back, but also in the front.

His Watcher approached him, being identified as Eric. He was a tall lad, much like himself, but with a slightly bulkier build than that of Marcus' regular one. It probably didn't help the fact that Marcus had lost his exercise routine after going under the light of interrogation and immense psychological quizzing. Not saying he was an amazingly strong guy to begin with, but he had lost motivation to continue once everything turned from Britain to Australia.

"Aye! A pleasure, Marcus. So, I will be your 'Watcher'? Well, as I see it, we should get to know each other a bit, maybe not immediately, if you don't much feel like speakin'. But, I am always here to chat. I just wanted to say it'll be nice to have a partner around."

At first, Marcus didn't know what to say. He was nice, conflicting his thoughts of before, where intimidation was going to be his first guess. Yet, this could be a form of negotiation, before swiping in to eliminate himself. He knew the kind, it was something he'd seen Negotiators on field use to lure out criminal suspects before the arrest was made. But the world wasn't always like his career...Or ex-career...

"Eric...Nice to meet you. I guess, I don't really have to introduce myself again, but for...extra information? If it helps sort of...Set my expectations a bit? Was a Police Officer, technically speaking. Not for long, because of the whole...Y'know...Shit. Kinda ruined the plans I had. Uhh...I was born in Scotland, raised with a Scottish Family here. And...Well...Yeah. I can save the interesting parts for later, but...You might need to bribe me for that." He spoke in a low and quiet tone, to start with, but gradually built up in confidence. After his last words came out, a small and friendly chuckle seeped from his lips and echoed between the two. It was nice, yet fearful, at the same time. What had he gotten himself into? More to the point...Was it worth doing this without the knowledge of his family, seeing as they were under the belief of him disappearing or being on some random mission? Everyone in the background sort of began to show off their powers through words or practice.

The woman he spoke to earlier, Mitsuki, began to talk directly to him as he approached both her and Gavin once more. She must've picked up on his confusion, caution and vigilance quickly, which would make sense seeing as Marcus to not be subtle with his expressions. Her words seemed to be a lot less confusing. Now, Marcus was far from being unintelligent, but what she said was far more understandable than what Gavin had blurted out, without too much context or detail. She explained their cause, why they'd been summoned by Gavin today. To some extent, it was quite warming, at least knowing what the others believed what was going on. Maybe some of them were also in a similar position as himself...Maybe.

Mitsuki's interactions with him ended on something different, something that didn't appear before amongst the group. A strong compliment, one that had a different tone and attitude to it. It was a shift, and definitely a warming one. Yet, Marcus couldn't help but react to himself, rather than openly. It was...Extremely nice, and actually quite welcoming, especially even if she offered to take over the unknown Watcher role for what Marcus could potentially Want. And in fairness, she was right. Marcus would probably prefer someone of her looks, if he could verbally return the compliment without being lost within his own mind, than a man who was quite large...Muscular and daunting to be around with.

Yet, Marcus reacted only by grinning uncontrollably. His voice shied away for a moment as he stuttered to himself, looking around the room for a topic to distract himself with before he uncontrollably would blush. He wasn't very good at controlling himself at that point...

He remembered the fact that many of the younger ones were eager to show-off their powers, especially the Invisible girl who seemed to be visible in Marcus' mind quite frequently. They were all eager to prove that they might have some sort of use alongside everyone here, making them unique. Yet, Marcus didn't want to be so cocky with his own ones, and wanted to at least inform Gavin, Mitsuki and his Watcher Eric what he was capable of by using a small variation of his ability.

"U-Uhh...Yes, abilities! I should...Show you three at least something I can do...Before I am rendered useless...Which'll probably happen eventually. Uhh...First." In a short second, a smoke-copy of his position replaced his location as the thin smoke trail shot through Gavin, then Eric, then Mitsuki before he reappeared between the first two he spoke to. He couldn't help but smile with visual pride at what he did, it being one of the few times he'd shown it perfectly since the hours of being forced to train in an interrogation room.

He chuckled, laughing to himself with glee as he did so, almost tempted to try it again before recomposing himself. Marcus still chuckled to himself, regardless of his restraint to try again. It felt good to actually do something small and unique, being one of the few good ideals to spring from this almost tragic transformation. Secondly, he raised a finger, and an arm, as if pointing upwards, before presenting it in said position. Within an instant, a shell of rock seemingly gulped his forearm whole, plating himself with the sturdy temporary armour before he disengaged it. Marcus was very proud at this point, but still humble. He looked between Gavin and Mitsuki, at least waiting for a roll-of-the-eye at their underwhelming expectations for his power...

But his powers showed and marked defensive and reconnaissance based traits, something he was great at all around. It'd be better to use as a defensive strategy With the tablet team, rather than the distraction team. Plus...If the ones chasing them were really the government, then he hoped to the world that Gavin would be kind enough to not force him to kill anyone he might know, or be contracted with.

"Perhaps...I...Could accompany the Tablet finding one? Like...There are too many answers I need...A lot of closure that I want...Do you...think that I could tag along when it comes to splitting up? Like...I'm not really the one for combat, and...I guess I'd rather protect than fight."

Desmond was very clearly in the room. His presence was known, could be felt and seen, but the man simply wasn't there. A lingering outline of his body existed in the barest fraction of reality, a tether to the now. The now Desmond was experiencing was beyond his comprehension. Lines were distorted to unrecognizable smears in his vision yet he could feel the magic pulsating to the steady beat of a heart. Every person in the room had their own magic, their own mind and ideals, and all of it was laid bare in front of him. The problem was understanding it.
Nothing about what he was seeing made any sense in any way but it demanded his attention. Had he possessed lungs, Desmond believed he might have begun to hyperventilate.

Instead all he felt was sand shifting in the air... The magic was heavy, slow to respond, yet it began to flow to his slow but insistent will.

Can the others feel this?
Do they know what is happening?
Do I know what is happening...
Of course not.. Gavin has told us to find the tablets.. The government hunts us.. They object to it even slightly, yet we have traveled so far to be here..

The return to 'then' from where he had been was instantaneous and disorientating. The moment the magic of someone else he had been taking touched his own 'body' it had forced him away from the strange other world Desmond had been experiencing. Something akin to a gasp escaped his 'mouth' but it sounded more like he was choking, indeed he looked the part as his gloved hands raced up to touch his chest, where his lungs would be, but merely caused his form to waver ever so slightly.

It was becoming too much for him. A room with such varied magic seemed to be pulling at his own essence even as it tried to siphon of the others. At last he spoke.
It was a soft hum, more vibration than word, but it echoed in the air and in the minds of those gathered. Like a dozen voices speaking at once in a flood it came to them.

"The sooner we leave, the better, if there is a prize on our heads."

"My powers are the ability to see all Magic," spoke Gavin, "as well as to hurl bolts of silvery-white fire that inflict wounds that cannot be healed by magic, dispel magic that manipulates space and time, and see visions of the past, present, and future, float in mid-air using spatial manipulation, not gravity, and create portals ranging from fist-size to SUV-size. Cantrips are making things glow, creating a 'projection screen', and a few other things I myself don't know." He then looked at Mitsuki, smiling.

"Of course, of course, my research is open to as many people as possible. And, to be frank, I was originally intending to stick together as one group, but now, one group to distract the opponents, and another group to go after the tablets...that is a much better idea." A pause to look at Marcus.

"Very well, you, Eric, Fenris and Morgana will come with me..." but Marcus would be distracted by his phone vibrating, and him receiving a message saying:

Good job, Marcus; we're coming early to capture and contain these freaks. In the meantime, Gavin would respond to Desmond, saying:

"Indeed, I am beginning plans for a split of the group now. Would you like to be part of the group seeking the tablets, or the group distracting the US Gov't?"

O'Ryan

For now, O'Ryan would sleep...

Charles' Determination

Charles would look towards Gavin when he spoke and would nod some and sigh "I will state I will not accept unless I'm in the group for finding the tablets" he would say. "you will need one of my abilities for inside purgatory." he states. "I can control the Dead, Zombies and Skeletons are the main things I can control currently" he states "I can speak to the dead, manipulate bones in various ways, and finally see spirits" he states out, mainly to let gavin know his abilities not caring about the others anymore. "This includes the living spirits along with the dead" he says. "One can tell a lot about another's spirit, it does not lie unlike the person. It is their true personality" Charles would state out.

"This Necromantieon will hold much for me in terms of knowledge, possibly allow me to gain more abilities, maybe even allow me to enter and exit purgatory at will" he says rubbing his chin, this part was more to himself than others but he didn't talk softly at all. "O ya and my cantrips... The more dead around me, the stronger my minions are" he states "So more minions, stronger the others are. Or even if it's just dead bodies still they will get stronger. I can also detect dead bodies in a short radius around me, and finally I can naturally detect anyone using the same magic as me in a certain radius" he states outright.

Charles would be certain that he could learn much from this trip, he is a pure underworld magic user, so he plans to explore every aspect that's related to underworld magic in hopes he could gain more powers from it.

Eric was immediately met with an interrupting whistle. Another male had tried to whistle in the hopes of disrupting the group's chats for some reason. It was extremely illogical, and the noise itself phased Eric none due to the nature of having worked around loud machinery and whistles through many jobs. However it did very much irritate him that this other male was arrogant and causing such a disruption for no reason other than the males own ignorance to the situation. Nevertheless, Eric merely ignored the origin of the whistle to move on to the truly important matters at hand.

"Bribe you for it, huh Marcus? I don't believe in bribing. A cop taking a Bribe.." Eric let a low chuckle emerge. "You must be a Dirty Cop. You wearing a wire too? Bribes and a Wire?" He let the joke sit for a moment before he shook his head to the man a moment. He then shifted his weight on his right foot for a moment and nodded. He was listening to Gavin direct and appoint out who would be joining him for the recovery of the tablets. In all earnest Eric's mind went straight into a surprised state that he was included in that team but he quickly and logically surmised that his association onto the team was by Marcus's request and his appointed duty of watching Marcus. As well as now it seemed he would be watching a few others along the way to the Tablets.

Eric was now assessing more than just the basics. He couldn't just sit and speak to Marcus as a single now, he moved turning to glance at Kasumi and then to the appointed Tablet group. He was observing them once again, noting what each had said prior and which of them made mentions of their power and their personality traits. This was quickly spurned as yet another spoke out about how they would be unhappy and would deny anything less than this very team.. it was Charles.

"I will state I will not accept unless I'm in the group for finding the tablets" he would say. Charles was rather adamant that he was going with the Tablet recovery team, no matter what was said to him apparently, and this was going to be yet another gnawing trait of Charles that would irritate Eric. It was up to this point that Eric found little relief in the words of the mass at this location. Many of them were logical, but many of them were not, and it was beginning to drive Eric to an edge. The rambling, the arrogance, the disruptions, the disputes, the hiding. It was biting and grinding at his nerves more and more as he listened on and on about them all. He grit his teeth however, and forced his iron-will to settle for them for a short time longer. He was silent, it was better this way too, as he listened to that boy speak of his supposed level of power.

Eric made a mental note to himself. That of which was less a note, and more something he wished he could say aloud to them all.

"Power. You all speak of power. Outside Gavin, who seemingly has the instruction booklet to this whole scenario, how do you all claim to be so powerful? We have had MAGIC as a whole, for merely a couple weeks, until today none of knew this Necromanti-fuck-us even existed. Yet you seemingly know you will be able to control the undead there? You just seem to 'magically' know what is there, what it holds, and whether you will have power over it? Your egos astound me! You fools, you gathering of idiots."

"Units, at attention." A simple voice spoke from the corner of a garage. This was an Auto-body garage on the outskirts of Brightwell. "The OP is Dark from here on out. No Names, No Ranks, No Signals to Branch. We are simply units. All of us. You will follow orders in design, respond only with yes, and move as directed. We are going to clear this by the playbook. We are going to do this with ease, caution, and yet power. We will detain these freaks. Collect & Detain. That is the OP. They are hold up in the Hotel across town, we will move in slowly and take them before they know what has hit them. We all know why we do this.."

The voice silenced a moment later and a large collection of Units responded with a nod and a "Yes" presented in unison. Then they quickly moved about the commandeered Auto-shop. Crates and containers laid about the floor and were stacked around on tables and benches, and these containers held the Unit's gear and equipment. Several men started packing on Flak armor, however it wasn't normal and it too wielded unique ceramic plating within it that restrained the effects of magic, and drained nearby magic. These "Heavies" as they were referred, then armed themselves with Breach charges which were folded leather-like satchels that unfolded four wings to reveal the simplistic wiring and arming device in the center. They would be able to stick to floors, walls, ceilings, any surface that was flat and made of a breach-able material was fair game for these items. The "Heavies" then quickly loaded up their Shotguns, not with Buckshot or slugs, but rather with XREP brand 12-gauge rounds which are offered by Taser's Production. However, they have the additional bonus of offering the Ceramic nullifying trait in their barbs, and internal housing. These rounds immediately induce paralysis and intense spasms. As well as they can be fired accurately up to one-hundred feet without worry of sway or deterring from aimed target. These were given to the Heavies for good reason, they were the front line and the breach Units.

During the same time, another set of units were gathering their own particular gifts from their provider. These units were wearing much lighter variants of the standard armor the bulk of the units would be wearing, however their Ceramic armor was still very present in smaller plates, with more of them located across the armor. This allowed a tighter, more lean, more agile suit. These units would be the "Runners" and "Snipers" of the OP. There were only a handful of them compared to the rest of the OP's units, but they were among the most skilled for their job. They would gather their arms much more quickly, which were extremely unique and unheard of for such an OP. They loaded and prepared Advanced TR-22 Tranquilizer Rifles. These rifles were long and heavily resembled a carbon-fiber Mosin Nagant. This was of course due to it's modern design and take, but it was essentially a modern frame of the World War Two, Russian Mosin Nagant. They were loaded up with a Air-canisters and then they packed their Tranqs into the Ammunition Sleeve among their upper-arms. These particular Tranqs were interesting, as the use of Tranquilizer Darts in militaristic or Police Enforcement forms is unreliable, and not fast-acting. If a Dart contains a tranquilizer too heavy for the target, it will overdose them and put them to a halt lethally. If it is too little, it will take ages to work on the target, and even then it may not fully incapacitate a target. These tranqs were designed with a very unique tranquilizer in mind. It isn't the standard style of tranquilizer, rather it is a neurological paralysis-inducing serum. It quickly affects the nervous system and sends signals and stimulates that send the system into a full shutdown. This shutdown however isn't total shock, or internal shutdown of the organs and body, merely the basics to ensure the target undergoes safe, non-lethal paralysis. The extra "tip on the spear" for these Darts however is that the syringe of the darts are made of the same nullifying magic as the armor they wear.

These were the two special "squads" among the operation. However they were by no means the only avidly armed units. The bulk of the Operation was armed with Kevlar armor, also lined with the ceramic magic-nullifying affect. They wielded a serious of various fire-arms, such as simple model AR's and 9mm Ruger side-arms, all equip with non-lethal rounds that shatter and splinter just beneath the skin, causing mere flesh wounds in the hopes of debilitating and hindering potential escapees should the breach Squad fail to incapacitate all targets or the Sniper/Runner Squad was unable to tranq any runners. They would literally be the bulk of the Unit's operation, numbering far more than both Squads, and taking up the formations in-between both Squads for the Operation. They were trained, heavily so, throughout most of their lives, and they were the best the U.S. Special Forces Operations had to offer for this mission.

"Units, Fall in!" A voice chimed with a deep, commanding tone from the center of the garage. It was the Commander of the Op once again speaking to the collective as they finished their assessment and gear-up. "We are all ready. Geared, trained, practiced, and willed. We are here for this Op, I have already told you why, now it is time to achieve our goal. Units! Fall out, and move!" The Commander barked with an authoritative tone as the Units then loaded up into the Humvees and the armored Vans. They quickly rushed them across town to the motel, the site of the Op's targets. It was here that this small war would begin it's earliest battle. They parked the vehicles a block before reaching the motel where it was safe to understand they wouldn't be found, thanks to the magic-negating armor. Once they were parked they organized their formation which was marvelously and impressively organized for an urban field Op. The Heavies Squad sat at the front, while the Snipers were in the back with at least three squads worth of bulk Units in-between them. These men and women, these "Units" were ready, primed, and at their destination.

Their Commander gave a single signal, a flick of his hand from the the main Humvee and with that alone the Op began in full swing. They moved with precision and purpose as they quickly closed the distance between them and the Motel. Once they reached the back of the main lobby, they prepared their bulk off to the side. The Heavies readied three of their Breach Charges along the back wall to the Lobby. The Units were completely silent in their operation, and their armor made them undetectable by all the mages inside, it was a perfect plan to say the least for these Units. Several moments later the Heavies gave a quick hand signal and all the Units moved away from the wall, three Heavies lifted up remote triggers and gave each other a timed look, before organizing the press.

It was in that instant that everything changed for both sides of this war. The Magi never saw it coming, and the Special Forces weren't entirely sure what to expect. All that either side knew.. was that a wall just erupted into an explosion and splinters and wood shredded out away from the wall, clearing open to the full back of the room into the Magi. Armed men quickly pressed to the wall and began to move in. Words were heard shouted out among the Units.

[B]"Freeze! Remain still, do not move!"[b] These words echoed throughout the motel after the ringing of the explosion died down. Guns were aimed all about, and Shotguns released their initial XREP Taser rounds, the first set aimed for five specific targets under the cover of the disorienting explosion. Gavin, Mitsuki, Kasumi, Master Grey, and Charles, were the first targets.

They weren't supposed to come before three days had passed! Gavin thought as he reflexively created a portal large enough to cover his thin and tall body and block the way of the shotgun bullets; this portal would lead to a stream beside Brightwell, and release the shotgun shots into the water. Hopefully, this would give him enough time to say:

"Do not try to kill! Do everything short of killing! Try and distract any snipers, and give me time to make a way out!" Gavin was already gathering Mana to create a larger portal...
