Loose Ends
Premise
Two days passed since the tragedy at Jurassic World. The public is in mourning as over a thousand visitors from that fateful day still remain missing. Meanwhile chaos reigns at Masrani Global, the corporation's bankruptcy is all but inevitable in the fallout of the disaster. Stocks at an all-time low and many high-level employees already resigning from their positions. With Simon Masrani's death the Board has assumed full control of the company. After an emergency meeting to find a means by which the corporation might survive through the incident, even if only as a shadow of it's former self. They came to an agreement that there was only one way to salvage any measure of the public trust necessary to survive the disaster. Masrani had to clean up as much of the mess on Isla Nublar as possible while they still can.
It wasn't easy to setup, calling in almost every favor the company had earned in it's existence and spending millions in bribing officials. They got their opportunity though, the Costa Rican would allow them to bring a team of specialists through the military perimeter newly established around the island chain. Once there they would accomplish their objectives within three days and extract off by the end of the third. Now they just had to find their specialists, the best that money could buy in their fields. Experts on dinosaurs, veterinary science, computers medicine and of course security. Or at least the best that 200 million dollars could get to go on a deadly island full of dinosaurs.
Setting
For the most part this roleplay will take place on Isla Nublar the volcanic island home of both of the ill-fated former parks. With environments ranging from volcanic mountain jungles to low grassy plains and the urban paradise of Jurassic World's Main Street, all now populated by free roaming and incredibly dangerous dinosaurs. Despite the carnage that tore through the island only days prior though there is still electricity through most of the island and it's facilities.
So there is the gist of it. This RP will follow the exploits of the team of experts hired by Masrani as they traverse Isla Nublar while fulfilling the five objectives set to them by Masrani, those being as follows.
- First, destroy all research and embryonic specimens left on the island. With Dr. Wu's flight and subsequent hiding much of the research and specimens are lost until he can be found. But preventing it from falling into anyone else's hands is priority.
- Second, sweep the island for any survivors, if found secure and subsequently extract them.
- Third, shut down whatever invisible fence systems still active on the island, and open any physical enclosures as well to allow the dinosaur to roam freely. No point containing them anymore.
- Fourth, ensure that the Mosasaurus containment is sufficient to last indefinitely. If not possible to make such an assurance, exterminate the specimen.
- Fifth and finally, verify the health of the dinosaurs on the island. Ensure that they are healthy and capable of remaining so indefinitely.
The Team
Masrani doesn't have the time to be too incredibly picky about who they hire for this job, and some people won't spend three days on a dinosaur infested island for any amount of money. But they're looking for the people who will, and they have pretty specific roles that need filled. Those being as follows:
- Security Specialist(s): Someone with combat training/experience and nice guns, who can keep the rest of the team safe from the potentially fatal dangers roaming the island.
- Hunter: Ideally someone with extensive experience in hunting dangerous game. Serving much the same role as the security specialist but offering a different perspective that might be life-saving.
- Doctor/Medic: A medical expert willing to risk their lives on Isla Nublar for a quick buck in case part of the team gets hurt or they encounter injured survivors.
- Dinosaur Expert: An Paleontologist ideally. Someone who can at least provide useful insights about the dinosaurs on the island that might help the team.
- Computer Expert: A hacker or network security specialist. Most of the island is run by computers, and the data that needs to be destroyed is on those computers. They need someone who can get rid of every single trace of research on the island, shut down the invisible fence system and deal with any unexpected computer related problems that may arise.
- Veterinarian: It may seem odd, but the health of the dinosaurs on the island in a priority as well. If Masrani is going to protect it's image an island full of dead dinosaurs can't happen. So a veterinary specialist is wanted to verify the health of the dinosaurs on the island and if possible perform any necessary actions to ensure their well-being.
Now obviously it is possible if not even likely that there might be overlap amongst the roles within the team, and some roles may not even be filled depending on how many people make characters. Furthermore joining will be possible down the line as the RP progresses but only as a survivor already on the island.
