Kyle shook his head. He hadnt allowed himself to be around water too much. He always felt like it was whispering to him. He feared he wouldn't be able to control himself. Plus Ivy was terrified of water. Since he had no one he could leave her head hadn't had many opportunities to try new things. "No. I don't have alot of time to try things like this. It's one of the reasons I wanted to come to camp."

"Oh," said Adrianne. "Are you going to get in first, or shall I?" She pondered what Kyle had said. 'I don't have a lot of time for things like this.' She had only been around big areas of water twice, unless swimming pools counted.

Edmond nodded and looked to Cecilia and James as their canoe swayed back and forth. They looked pretty safe, so maybe he was? Why do people even like this? Edmond thought as he freezes as water splashes on his hand. He quickly wipes his hand on his 'PianoMan' shirt. Edmond then turns his head and looks up to Helena. Can y-you help me up?..." Edmond managed to sit up into a comfortable position, but he couldn't shake the feeling of falling in so he stayed on the floor of the canoe. Helena then explained that boats rock some. "That seems right...I have never been on a boat before." Edmond said.

*James would look back ahead as they kept going, looking around for Neric but not seeing any sign of him. Most likely he is watching from under the waters or somewhere James couldn't see him. Not a bad thing, this was something he was enjoying. And it seems that Cecilia is enjoying it, but he would keep his vision forward. Not wanting to look back at her too much, also to watch where they were going. Him looking over to the side before looking forward as he speaks* "I was just trying to get into a better flow that could be easier for you to follow. I hope I ain't making it harder by doing so." *Nodding as he keeps his vision forward, could have said that better. Well it was said now, but he wanted her to know why he is changing his pace here and there. He was getting the feeling it was causing more trouble for her then helping*

"I suppose it doesn't matter. I'll get in first. Just hold the canoe. Or control the water. Whatever what works best for you."Kyle checked on Ivy while he waited for Adrianne to decide how she wanted to help him get in. He wouldn't rush her. He was a very patient person.

Cecilia began to focus more on her rowing after hearing James explain himself. Truthfully, Cecilia did appreciate what he was doing, although she may have had a little difficulty keeping track of his changes in speed. "It's okay, you're doing fine. I'm just still getting the hang of this. I'll try and keep up," she told him, not ready to tell him to change his approach just yet. Also, she recalled how she also had to keep into account the length of his strokes and try and match it. This was something that occurred to her when she noticed the canoe turning minutely to the right, her paddle making contact with the water for a second or so less than his. "S-sorry about this..." she apologized, making it a point to examine his paddle for a time while she tried to sync their rows together.

"Oh you're fine Cecilia, if you need me to do anything just ask. I-I'm new to this and I don't know really what I'm doing..." *He wouldn't mind her input, he never had done this before. So he wouldn't mind any advice from her, Neric swimming off to the side. His black fin flowing quickly above the water around the place, James was hoping he wouldn't scare any of the others for them thinking Neric was a shark. Little did he know that Neric planned it a bit, sighing softly as he speaks again* "Well, even if I ain't doing good. You are Cecilia, thanks for being my partner in this." *Still rowing with her as they go, looking ahead to ever closing in bank of the other side of the lake*

"Sounds good," Adrianne repiled. She concentrated on the water. It formed little claws that held the boat down. "There you go," she said to Kyle. "Hop in."

"But you are doing well, James. Very well... Um... but it may help me a little if you could stick to a slower speed, a-at least at the beginning," Cecilia shyly requested, still eyeing his oar as an example for herself. The idea of her slowing them down would always loom over her on some level, but she was grateful to James for being so courteous to her. "And... thanks for letting me be your partner, James. I... hope we get to do things like this all throughout our time at camp," she said genuinely, smiling widely again. She found it remarkable that when they started their hike earlier, she didn't think she'd the end up with James for much of that event and then this one. She couldn't help but feel a little lucky.

"Well thank you Cecilia, I've rather been enjoying spending time with you. I hope we get to do more stuff like this together too." *Hiding his blush by keeping his vision forward, though he has a smile on his face. Slowing down a bit like she asked, looking back a bit before focusing forward again* "T-That better?" *He asks as he thinks and continues rowing, it was true. He was rather enjoying time with her, she was rather enjoyable company. Sighing softly as he keeps his focus forward, looking around for Neric at times but no sign of him. Though he also got the feeling that maybe Neric left the two so they can have time alone, James thinking that was both nice and embarrassing in a way. Curious also if they would be able to do more of this later down the road in the camp*

Cecilia blushed as well when he said he enjoyed spending time with her. It made her happy and actually a little excited for what lay ahead of them in the coming days. She noticed James slow his pace for her, she then easily coordinating her rows in response. Immediately, she could tell that the canoe was moving straight ahead once more. "Yes, yes it is. Thank you James," she said graciously, taking a moment to tug at her vest near her collar to let some hot air out. It was summer after all. She stole a moment or two to look behind her, seeing everyone do their best with their respective canoes. What stuck out to her was a pair of watery claws that appeared to hold the boat down for Kyle. As remarkable as it was, Cecilia knew she couldn't afford distractions at the moment and so resumed looking ahead. "James, did you imagine before coming here that your first day would be like this?" she asked curiously, feeling confident enough that she could afford a conversation and hoping James wouldn't mind the question.

*James would be paying attention to what was going on ahead of them, looking around with a smile. But when Cecilia asked her question, he thought on it before answering* "Actually no I didn't... it turned out alot better then I thought it would go." *Him smiling as they reach the other side, stopping the canoe as he looked back to see how everyone else was doing. Turning around to face her, speaking as he did so* "Well we can take a moments rest. What about you? Did it go as you thought it would on your first day?" *He would ask with a smile, holding his oar in his lap carefully*

"Oh, sure!" Helena said and held her hand out, helping Edmond properly sit in the canoe. The oars were attached to the sides, so she grabbed both and handed Edmond his. "The water is pretty calm so this shouldn't be too bad," Helena said, realizing they were facing each other. Their communication would be pretty good, but their rowing might be off, as the councilors said. "Well, I guess we get going now, huh?"

Kyle was surprised by the way that Adrianne choose to hold the boat. Her control was better then his if she could do things like that. He wasn't as confident as he had been. He had had little chance to play with his power. He mostly used it to keep Ivy from burning things. He carefully climbed into the boat. "Alright. Your turn."

"Really? That's good to hear," she said cheerfully. Either this was a truly good day for James, or the bar was set so amazingly low with everywhere else he's been that even a possibly mixed day like this was great by comparison. No matter the case, she was overjoyed that she could spend the day with him. Cecilia took a fair amount of personal pride in making it to the other side of the lake, although as she saw his face, she knew she could take all the credit. "Well no, I guess it kinda didn't for me either," she started, brushing a bit of her hair to the side and placing her oar on her lap also. "Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. But even if I did try and guess, I wouldn't have imagined anything quite like this, let alone all the amazing things I've seen," she reminisced fondly, despite everything.

Valencia looked behind her carefully so that the boat wouldn't shake. "Well lets practice, we may go to the other side of the lake." she said as the others where making there way over to the other side. Valencia looked at Max. "If you paddle at you start on your right side i will on the left." Valencia wasn't sure how to get started but you have to do it one way or the other.

Adrianne let go of her hold on the boat, sweating from the effort. "Ok," she said, carefully climbing in. She grabbed the oars. "Ready?"

"Ya, everything so far besides those hiccups here and there have been amazing and great. I met some nice people, Neric seems to be accepted, we can call this place a type of sanctuary for us and well..." *He stops as he blushes a bit, chuckling as he looks to the side a bit. Rather nervous but also rather happy about the situation, but besides that everything in the camp has been great. He didn't expect anyone to really accept him and Neric regardless if they had powers as well. He was more then happy that it wasn't that case, looking back at Cecilia as he finishes his sentence. Smiling softly at her as he does so* "I have a rather nice partner that showed me people here that I can rely on and trust and has been a rather amazing person to me." *Wondering if he went too far, but he wanted to give the truth. She did a lot for him and she was rather wonderful in his eyes, so he only wanted to say what he thought was correct*

Cecilia didn't interrupt James, but chuckled when he did. There was something about his moments of levity that she found charmingly infectious. That and she never actually bothered, in all the time she was here, to really think of this camp as a sanctuary. But James could likely tell from her bright expression that she wholeheartedly agreed. He appeared to have more to say but paused, looking away before continuing. She wouldn't expect what he'd say next, her face flushing more so than ever before. "R-Really?... you think I'm amazing?..." she repeated aloud, looking away at the lake and her enclosed hand over her vest. "You really mean that?" she timidly followed up. There was no question that she would always be more than happy to help, especially when it came to encouraging James and Neric to open up more. But she'd be more inclined to call amazing (aside from James and Neric themselves) anyone whom they can rely on like he mentioned. Since the incident earlier, she didn't feel like one of those people they could depend on, even though she wanted to be more than anything.
