@Atrophy it's been a bit less than a decade since the monsters started showing up. And as far as Bastions of civilization goes. There's the Expeditionary Camp, which is a fortified little base built around the main port of one of the ruined cities, which serves as a landing zone for ships from Yggrdasil, the base is probably only half a dozen blocks wide, with timber walls and barricades shutting them off from the rest of the city. There are also a few outposts dotted throughout the continent, but these are more temporary camps.

@Oni_@Noxx sidearms are typically single shot Flintlock pistols and derringers, though the closest thing on gets to a revolver is a pepperbox, essentially a Flintlock gun with multiple preloaded barrels.

Alright, I'll switch the six shooters for three barreled pepperboxes. I'm assuming that magic would be capable of turning the barrels instead of them being hand turned?

@Oni_ high end, expensive pepper boxes can be enchanted to turn automatically, or use a mechanism to rotate the barrels. Alternatively you can use magic to turn the barrels if you have the aptitude. But cheaper low end pepper boxes will generally be turned by hand - though for the rp, keep in mind that a vast variety of the monsters in the new world appear very resistant to conventional shot and powder weapons. Those are more to fend off animals and other people.

Ok, I made the appropriate changes to my CS, if anything else needs correcting just tell me!

On conventional powder, the idea was always to use the two guns as a deliverance method for Ceri's magic, so they're more of a flavor thing.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I'll edit in a paragraph or two about learning magic and what I mention here shortly:

Probably my writing style being a bit vague with the whole firearm/magic skill levels. Firearms she'd probably be average, maybe a little above on account of her profession. That being because she can hit her targets, magic gives her no need to hit as well as a standard bullet would I guess, so accuracy isn't an issue like it would be with an actual expert gunslinger.

As for shooting magic, I'd say that fire is a signature thing. The reason I specified was that I was unsure of your magic system, some have elements being inherently different from each other, so a specialization is needed. Others you can do whatever you need. From the sounds of your feedback, it looks like the latter? In which case yes, I'd say Ceridwen probably could shoot ice or something out of her guns she just chooses not to do that most of the time.

Also, I'm not surprised there was a wild west feeling to the whole thing. I've been worldbuilding a bunch for my Lovecraftian Wild West setting so it's in the back of my mind. Might not have helped that I had the same playlist I use to write that on in the background. Glad you don't mind.

As for the question, I felt like his skills helping to discovere a swifter trade route gave him a somewhat oft spoken name, which spread to some foreign Merchants wanting a pathfinder. Though if that seems sufficient to you, I could add that explanation to the History as well.

@Oni_ what I meant for magic is - is shooting magic bullets the only magic thing she's good at? or is she a magic bullet shooter, but can also throw a normal fireball, or make a lightning bolt or move a rock wall?

Ah! I see now. I've edited my CS appropriately with far too much a few paragraphs on the learning bit of magic. I was considering her only being able to shoot from her guns at first but then I liked the idea of an explosion in her backstory I decided if she ever lost her guns she'd be completely useless. So yeah, wrote in that she could use magic fairly freeform, also the implication that she could control more than just fire just not as well.

How good is she? I wanted to be careful with that. In my mind, you don't spend years Bounty Hunting without becoming damn good with your weapon of choice. But of course, I don't want "really good at magic" to become the crux for her. So I think what I wrote leaves room for some skill level adaptation if I need the wriggle room. If your cool with that of course.

Side note: TFW I got a little too into her magic learning and that's now longer than the rest of it.
