If I could just make a little request, for the characters that only have a picture to describe their appearance, do you mind noting somewhere on your CS how tall they are? Little hard to tell when it's just a picture of their face.
@SunsetRosesIf you think weight is worth noting, then sure, but you can easily see Anelise's overall stature from her picture, so it won't effect description too much. Only reason I request height is 'cause my character is pretty tiny, so I'll probably need to know if he's looking up at the people he's talking to. It's just nice to get a description of things that can't be shown easily through a picture. @Hammerman Thanks!
@Discontent Ah, another thing I forgot. You guys are good for reminding me. I hereby grant you the title of Minister of the Office of Heights. I'll put my characters heights in their CS's.
@Invader Len I have changed my title to reflect this lucrative and powerful position. I accept if gratefully and swear to only use my position for good, and not to instill a horrifying dystopia where all characters taller than mine have their legs severed.
@Invader Len I have changed my title to reflect this lucrative and powerful position. I accept if gratefully and swear to only use my position for good, and not to instill a horrifying dystopia where all characters taller than mine have their legs severed.
I salute you for taking your position with such diligence, and have great confidence that you will not enact this terrible society which would force an underground resistance of amputees and redefine wheelchair-bound warfare.

Mage or Familiar: Familiar

Personality: She's enthusiastic, to say the least. She is nice to people in general, but if someone goes against her she holds her ground. She doesn't take disrespect and rudeness from others. She'll settle it by challenging them to a 1v1, even if it's in a video game. She's rebellious and hyper, which doesn't mean she's uptight and a control freak, she can be calm about things and laid back. This may be attributed to her ADHD. Talia enjoys to spend alot of her time gaming, but she also puts work in towards school. She doesn't have too much trouble with academics, especially since math comes naturally to her due to her affinity for programming and coding, she sees every problem as a string of code that she has to decrypt. in terms of her social skills, she's pretty decent at striking conversations.
Biography:
Talia Nitro was born into a rather wealthy family, them owning a string of game shops, one of which she lived on the second floor above. Growing up her parents were always busy dealing with business and economics so they never really made time for her and she got lonely, so she turned to video games. In this outlet she found she really excelled and enjoyed the whole new world it opened to her. For years alone she just played on a small handheld device until her uncle gifted her a gaming PC. She soon turned to online games and started to play habitually. Around the age of 10 she realized that she was actually decent at these games. She decided to start hosting tournaments at the game shop. Usually around 5-8 other kids would show up and she would do her best. At first she always came in third or fourth, but as time went on and more people started showing up she got better. By the age of 12 she was usually winning every tournament. This went on for a while until she decided to take it to the big leagues.
She moved onto regional area gaming tournaments and then won with shocking accuracy, eventually she got to the highest level of competition. It was the biggest esports game around for hundreds of miles. She had a team she signed with. As they were competing everything was going smoothly, their team was winning slightly. She just had to finish off the last enemy to win, that's when it happened, something went wrong, she slipped up. She ended up costing her team the game- and ultimately the championship tournament. The following weeks were hard on her, she spent her time in her room, gaming days away. Her mood was glum until she started small time streaming. This went on until her parents saw that it was affecting her school life. They intervened and transferred her to St. Fortuna's Academy to improve her intelligence, and ultimately discover her innate ability.

Name: Kaison Locke Appearance: Age: 16 Gender: ♂ Orientation: Heterosexual, mostly Type: Mage Magic Type: ~ Known Spells: ~ Partner: ~ Personality: Adventurous, light-hearted and nonchalant, Kaison tends to not take things seriously. He has a flawless poker face in the form of an unfaltering smile and a stoic disposition hiding any troubles he may or may not have. He may be a bit idealistic at times, but he has a strong sense of responsibility, even if he otherwise seems completely apathetic. A bit of a weeb. Biography: Kaison was born to a highly successful self-made businessman and his beautiful house-wife. When Kaison was one year old, his mother died giving birth to his younger brother. Consequently, his father developed depression and a drinking problem. Due to his young age, he was never familiar with his mother, and he’s never known his father to be any other way. Even so, his father was a drunkard, not abusive, and he and his brother were generally left alone, if not watched by a babysitter. They had a lot of time, growing up, to play games with each other, and as they grew older, they went from making up scenarios to making up game mechanics. Kaison taught himself basic coding through configurable game engines and expanded from there, while his brother taught himself spriting. Together, they made fully original, if generally amateur video games.
As they grew older still, their respective talents began to stir, and they applied to St. Fortuna’s, hoping to use their newfound capabilities to write their own stories. Both romantics, they wanted to see what they could live out; fantastic scenarios like those they’ve created, a fitting step up. A life of action and adventure, worthy of being recorded and proliferated.
Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking.
Regardless of what the future holds, A school as prestigious as St. Fortuna's was bound to open new doors, and no matter how he proceeds, a little magic will go a long way. Likes: A good story, (books, movies, video games) card games, cloud-watching, his brother, fresh air, music of most genres, overcast weather, sight-seeing, soda, star-gazing, thrill rides, video games (gameplay) Dislikes: Cliche plots, competitiveness, confrontation, crowds, dirt, excessive pessimism, hot weather, humidity, monotony, obnoxious background noise Points: Proficiency: 3 Intelligence: 4 Athletics: 3 Miscellaneous: His brother is a 15-year old familiar in his first year at St. Fortuna's. His father is a familiar by the name of Jon.
1. What is your character's dream career? A story-teller, especially one who tells his own stories about amazing things he's done in life. Ideally and most directly, this would mean being a famous explorer and author, but this is more of a far-off dream than a realizable career. If asked, he would say that he wants to be a video game creative director, on account of his familiarity with coding.
2. Your character is caught telling a lie/cheating. How do they react? Laugh it off and come clean, as if he'd been found in a game of hide and seek.
3. Your character finds out someone close to them has been lying to them. How do they react? He'd shrug it off as unimportant. If the situation really hurt him, he'd hide his emotions and act like he doesn't care as a defense mechanism. Either way, he'd lose his trust for them, but he'd still act friendly all the same.
4. If your character were given $50, what would they do with it? If he wanted a new book or game that came out, he'd pick it up when he gets the chance. Otherwise, he wouldn't give it much thought and would probably just save it.
5. Someone close to your character gives them something very important and asks them to hold on to it until they come back. However, your character somehow loses it. What do they do? Go on a hunt to the ends of the Earth to find it and if necessary, prostrate himself to the vilest of enemies if they were capable of finding it for him. Failing that, he'd do all he could to replace it. When the time comes, if he can't return the original, he'd admit to losing it and ask if there was a way to make it up to them.
6. Your character is given the chance to perfect any one talent. What do they choose? His writing capability.
7. What is your character’s favorite book or movie genre? Why? Science-fiction and Fantasy. He's always liked escapism, and creative scenarios tickle his fancy. If a tangible example is needed, there’s Westworld.
8. Who does your character admire? Daniel Handler and Jun'ya Ota, more commonly known by their respective pen-names Lemony Snicket and ZUN. A highly successful writer of children’s books with a particularly distinctive style and a prolific self-made Japanese dōjin game developer.

@Redmarshmellow,@Ryik, we will review your CS’s in detail in the morning. I have university in the morning, so I’ll be heading to bed in a few minutes.
I won’t be on until around 12 pm PST, however, Errorist is active in the mornings PST, and onenote generally in the afternoon EST. We will do our best to answer questions and review CS’s tomorrow. I’ll begin work on the opening post for the IC tomorrow as well, and will hopefully have it ready by the time the initial 24 slots are filled.
Thank you all for being so patient and supportive with us! It’s our first time running an RP of this size, and we look forwards to writing a lot with you!
Edit: @Hippo AF, we'll review your CS tomorrow as well.
I think I'll have to withdraw my application. Given enough time I think I could fix it but I feel like I'm getting in the way a little bit, strange as they may sound, so I feel like instead of just waiting, I should bow out now.
Sorry for all the trouble I caused, good luck on your adventures.

He cares most about bettering his magical ability, be that through study or practice, he wants to make himself as powerful as possible.
Biography: Robert is son to a Mother who researches and teaches theoretical magic at one of the top colleges in the country in the city of Erridún, and his father is his’s mother’s familiar, who works alongside her. As such, his family is very well off, and have always had high expectations for Robert. This was a core tenant of his childhood, that he was supposed to be better somehow than his peers, and thusly never got away with much as a child. His parents were quick to reprimand and punish him when he did wrong, making sure he’d do as his parents expected of him. As a child, he didn’t have any trouble at all making friends, people finding him affable, even if he could be a bit grating at times with his strict adherence to rules. Through Middle School, though he obviously couldn’t practice magic, his parents taught him a lot about magical theory and the principals behind it.

Quiz Answers:
1. What is your character's dream career? Robert dreams of being able to bring much of the theoretical possibilities of magic into the real world, so he would very much like to be in R&D, perhaps developing and building scientific instruments.
2. Your character is caught telling a lie/cheating. How do they react?
“Me? Cheat?”, Robert asked, trying to remain calm as quickly shifted his eyes forward onto his paper, avoiding eye contact as much as possible. This was it. He wasn’t ready for this test, and the idea of people seeing him fail was too much to bear, so he settled upon a risky gamble that apparently hadn’t paid off.
“Quite obviously.” The teacher said, “Now look at me when I’m talking to you.”
Robert swallowed hard and looked up to meet the gaze of his teacher, his eyes welling up, before he regained control of himself, and exhaled, “Of course not, sir” He said pointedly, “I apologize for any semblance of that, but I would never.” He said quietly, before attempting to continue to his test, knowing he’d have to fail or pass the rest of this test on his own merit alone.
3. Your character finds out someone close to them has been lying to them. How do they react?
“I’m sorry?” Robert asked, smiling for a moment, before giving a cough and crossing his arms, a bemused smile on his face, before his friend affirmed their sentiment, causing Robert to straighten himself up.
“Oh.” He deadpanned, feeling any bit of doubt leave him as he realized this wasn’t a game. He paused for a minute, and then made a fist in his hand, not holding back anger, but rather himself together. “Well you can just fuck right off then.” He said, his voice sounding strained. He couldn’t be around him right now, not after he betrayed his trust. He motioned for him to leave, slamming the door behind him, before exhaling, and letting out of breath. He let himself go limp, his back slumping against the door, as he rubbed his temples. Tears started to roll down his cheeks, and he sniffled, and wiped his tears away. His friend wasn’t worth tears. He wasn’t worth anything.
4. If your character were given $50, what would they do with it?
He’d be happy to have it, and would spend it on the first thing he wanted.
5. Someone close to your character gives them something very important and asks them to hold on to it until they come back. However, your character somehow loses it. What do they do?
“Where is it WHERe is IT WHEREISIT?” His mind was frantic as he turned over everything in front of him. His heart was racing, his mind was reeling, leaving him in full blown panic mode. He tried to calm himself down, but that wasn’t going to work this time. He rubbed his folder, he couldn’t replace it, he couldn’t lie, this was going to come crashing down on him. After a minute, he knew what he had to do. They would find out eventually, the only way to make the best out of this situation would be to let them know it was gone.
6. Your character is given the chance to perfect any one talent. What do they choose?
He’d absolutely love to be able to master the art of lucid dreaming. The idea of being able to milk more hours out of the day without cutting into his sleep schedule is very appealing to him, not only for the fun implications, but also the practical ones.
7. What is your character’s favourite book or movie genre? Why?
Definitely court dramas, his favorite movie being A Few Good Men (If it exists in the universe, of course.) The whole concept of people standing up for what’s right, and being able to defend it without the need to rely on violence or fear, but rather on their own intelligence embodies his idea of justice.
8. Who does your character admire/look up to?
His parents are the most influential part of his life, and he has extreme deference and respect for the way that they’ve chosen to live their lives. Their devotion to understanding the world around him affirms and powers his belief that with proper work and thought, anything can be accomplished.

Please tear this apart and tell me everything wrong with it. I will format after everything has been set, if that's alright, just because it's much easier to do that with a set sheet.
@Invader Len After some contemplation (and numerous failed attempts at revising my character) I've decided to simply make a brand new character instead. I created Matthew with a certain image in mind. In hindsight, the image I had was entirely unfitting for this RP; I attempted to make him more fitting, but after several attempts - each ending more unsatisfyingly than the last - I've come to the conclusion that it'd be a lot easier to simply start from scratch and make a new character.
On that note, what's the current Male:Female ratio, so I know what kind of character to make?
. . . oh, and holy shite did that character count balloon quickly. This got popular fast.
