So, sing praise to the god emperor of mankind, he who sits upon the golden throne of Terra? :P

Hehe, what do you think about the idea that the Tak'a'dis are the classic "Grey" aliens who have studied humans? :P
Unless humanity was formed less than 300 years ago, then the timeline doesn't add up.

Since the guild site at times seem to omit that new IC posts have been posted, i just now read the last two posts.

I can't say i've ever before felt as tense and hoping that a group of mushrooms manage to board a ship, but here we are.
Nice job on the writing. @Oraculum

I suppose me and @Sigma should do a big party post with the Schäferkin delegation and all the things that go on there.

After that, i'm gonna mix up the politics a bit :P

@Sigma Hey there, saw your response and followed the link here! The idea of a nation RP, and one that posts slowly enough for my pacing, seems too interesting to not perhaps get involved with! :D

After some more looking at the roleplay, i do have a few more questions though, starting with these:

1. Is there a set list of races for the RP, or have people created the various alien races in the RP?

2. If people have created any of the alien races in the RP, is it possible for someone making a non-Garden World nation to make a unique race or two as well? Er, i hope i am phrasing this right at least.

@Holy Grail Glad to have you aboard!

Regarding your first question. Check the OP for the species list, all of which are player made and see the character tabs for more info(sadly mine is lacking, my sheet is still very much a work in progress, but some of the basics are there)

Regarding the second question, sorry to say that are no intelligent non-garden species, there was one exception, but the player in question has since disappeared and went over the two week mark, so we are back to just the Garden Worlds providing the inhabitants of the setting. Sorry about that.

@Sigma

Do i have to ask anyone to use one of the alien species they made for a non-Garden Nation?

Would it be possible to make sub-type of one of the existing alien species? (If not, it's ok. Just want to get the questions out while i can)

@Holy Grail
If you want, you could ask just to be sure, although most of us would be alright with you using some of our species. As for a sub-species, that seems fine with me.

Although I've thought of something, a sort of loophole if you really want your own species. Some of our Garden Worlds do not have a full species roster, two with just two(Erelvath and Terra) and another with only one(Joord), although technically they no longer are on said planet, chased away by their creations, the Schäferkin. So if either of the three players of the garden worlds are willing, maybe you can construct a history of a missing race or two that fled these worlds enmass for whatever reason.

@Sigma

That works! I will be thinking that idea over...perhaps a human sub-species or the like. Brainstorming, initiate! >:D

@Sigma@Oraculum

As for the second loophole idea you had there, Sigma, i think i already have a preliminary couple of ideas/concepts to run by you. One idea includes Oralculum's races, only if they are willing of course. I don't want to step on any toes here, so tell me if things are not acceptable, or if either of you want to help edit idea to be acceptable by each of you or something of the sort.

I just want to go with one of the ideas, really, so whichever works out first i will pretty much be ok with.

Idea 1 (Related to Oralculum's Races: What about a colony of humans that once tried to settle on Erelvath many years ago in Iurrkhal territory, only to be transformed bit by bit into a sub-species of human (or technically sub-species of Iurrkhal perhaps) due to contact with the fungal Iurrkhal. This transformed these human into a unique species, before the two dominant species of Erelvath drove them off of the planet many moons ago. Since then, the species could have been living in space, perhaps being altered even further into a unique species due to not living on a Garden World for many centuries. That way they could become more unique than just a human-Iurrkhal hybrid of some sort.

Idea 2 (Related to your planet, Sigma): Perhaps a race of humanoid (or human-like), bipedal aliens lived on Aurolia in the far past, only to evacuate the planet with their own earlier space-technology after the Ishkaan population began to boom and advance at a quicker pace. They feared conflict with the Ishkaan, at least when it came to resoures, to leaving the planet to them was a manner of getting away to avoid possible conflict so many centuries ago. Since then, they have been all but forgotten on Aurolia, living their lives on a non-Garden world and such. Perhaps this race was fungal-like or somehow incorporates viruses or some kind of parasites, just to brainstorm a bit here.

Why, thank you. I feared the post might have been tiresome due to its length, but fortunately it appears the lengthy process of writing did produce something palatable after all.

Since then, the species could have been living in space, perhaps being altered even further into a unique species due to not living on a Garden World for many centuries. That way they could become more unique than just a human-Iurrkhal hybrid of some sort.

I do like the idea - it seems like something which could very well occur naturally, given that Erelvath's biosphere is not entirely friendly to extraneous species and it would have required some adaptation on the part of humans to be able to walk about there without hazardous terrain suits at all (perhaps they could even have done so voluntarily in order to gain an advantage). Additionally, like most fungoids, the Iurrkhal reproduce through spores. Before the Combine introduced specific regulations, these spores were sowed quite openly, scattering over large expanses of ground, and all sorts of strange things could have happened to humans exposed to them for a long time.

On the other hand, we should not forget about Erelvath's other inhabitants, the Vraslil, especially since biological mutation and modification is largely their "hat". The hybridisation process you described could very well have happened naturally; however, I personally find that it could be more interesting if the whole of it had been one large experiment secretly engineered by the Vraslil to see what would happen. Depending on how the humans reacted to their change, eventually discovering this could be either traumatic or, alternatively, give them a reason to be well-disposed towards their "benefactors".

As for being ousted from the planet, that is not something either species would be likely to do, given that they had permitted them to land in the first place. However, it certainly is something the Covenant would have done while consolidating its power, and the timeline would fit as well.

All in all, I would say this offers plenty of interesting possibilities to work with.

@Oraculum Oooh! Now those are some good ideas for how things could have occurred!

Going to start developing some ideas for this stuff on my end as well. At least, starting tomorrow since it is pretty late where i am right now.

Do you want me to run any completed ideas by you, though, or would i be ok to work out a complete idea to submit here before you see it? I just want to be sure on this matter.

I suppose that, with what has been said so far, you can very well proceed with creating something directly - if necessary, I shall comment on it once it is done. However, if you are uncertain about anything or want to know further details about Erelvath and its inhabitants, do feel free to PM me or ask through the chat.

I just realized that the Tak'a'dis are a great source of possible sub factions. Being master gene-crafters and manipulators.

If someone wants a race, they could be a personal experimentation, escaped test subject or a previous slave race that wasn't up to snuff.
Or one could create a species which shared Joord but were forced to leave hundreds of years ago.

The Tak'a'dis having had space travel for a very long time, while also focusing on small nimble fast craft makes daring escapes very plausible.

All good thoughts folks. I'd also like to offer up the Concordat as a potential source for new/sub species if anyone is interested. They've been in space for 200 years or so; who knows what kind of biological experiments went awry in that time.

Also, @Sigma I just realized I made Sanctuary really big without actually consulting you. I was thinking it would have a central ring of ___blank___ size, with five habitation modules 5km in diameter already built and more being gradually constructed to accommodate the ever growing civilian population. Any thoughts on size restrictions?

@Klomster Only now do I see it! Nah Terra was not inspired by Warhammer, though it is a close match (everything you mentioned, plus badass armour for command units, and obscenely big tanks).

Humans have definitely been around for over 300 years, a species that unrealistically self destructive would never achieve its current technological level in less than that. And we could always do with the classics.

@SigmaIt should be obvious at this point, but I thought I might as well confirm it and now try to sneak out but I am dropping out of this RP for various reasons that I'm sure everyone has heard before. The validity of what those thoughts are in relation to what my actual reasons are will be up to the person themselves but I will be bowing out. Apologies. orz

@ClocktowerEchos It's ok, kinda knew :P

@Ozerath Regarding Sanctuary and space colonies in general, I won't put any set of restrictions. They're generally huge. And I trust people not to be too excessive with them :)

@JaceBeleren Also been meaning to ask, with the Empire taking all of Terra, would you object to some of our worlds having a human population due to the inevitable refugee crisis that was to follow?

@Sigma Was unable to get pics for some stuff thus far, but i am very nervous about my Nation idea...

So i sent the idea to you over PM for perhaps some preliminary looking-over. I hope it is not a complete mess. (T__T)
