Hello. Returning RPer here with a plot for a story revolving around the Thieves' Guild in the city of Sarkel.
Sarkel is the capital of the nation of Lerindor - one of the richest and strongest nations in the Eastern Continent. Sarkel is known as the City of the World's Desire - having been fought over so many times over the hundreds of years of its history. Currently, Sarkel is where His Most Glorious Majesty King Gilkamesh rules from. Here, traders, merchants, philosophers and adventurers from around the world come together to bask in the height of culture and prosperity.
Such wealth doesn't come without its associated problems. Sarkel is also home to the largest and most powerful guild in the City, the Thieves' Guild. There is no place the Guild cannot infiltrate, no treasure that the Guild cannot steal. A man with connections to the Guild can get more accomplished than a man with connections to the King.
But all that is changing. The new Captain General of the City Guard has given her word that she will eradicate the Guild from the face of the earth. Mercenaries and adventurers are being hired as guards to take on the thief menace. The Night Watch has been doubled and sentries posted on rooftops.
But the Guild is nothing if not resourceful. To meet the challenge, they have increased their recruitment drive. They are beginning to swell their ranks, planning on something much bigger than mere trinkets from nobles. They are planning for the city itself!
And that's where you come in. You are one of the newest recruits to the Guild. You joined for your own reasons. As you grow within the ranks of the Guild and take on tougher and tougher challenges, you will also begin to unravel a web of deceit and conspiracy that threatens not just the future of the Guild but also the future of the City. Can you figure it all out before your time runs out? Will you be the saviour of the Guild? Or just another footnote in the history of Sarkel's streets?
