@FallenTrinityThe Magoi and some others actively searched for my dragon because of its huge library containing almost every kind of magical book, scroll and scientific books. The magoi and all those who were thirsty for knowledge were given permission of utilizing the library under one condition: to help to protect it and expand it (contributing with your own knowledge, discoveries or contributing with more books.)
But knowledge comes with power. And those who seek power, often bring chaos. The unlimited fountain of knowledge that the great library was attracted many kinds of people, who started using that knowledge for selfish reasons, even starting wars. When the dragon perceived that, it was clear that that much knowledge would corrupt all but those with the purest intentions. Knowing that, it closed its doors, hiding the library from the world and going into a deep slumber, pondering about how to protect the world from all the dangerous knowledge it wasn't ready to have.
After seeing what the dragon had done, some students who used to go to the library understood what it was happening, why the dragon chose to seal the library's doors.
"Knowledge will corrupt all but those with the purest intentions."
The same phrase they heard from the dragon became their ultimate truth. Inspired by that, they built a temple around the library. A temple where they would dedicate their lives in gathering and protecting dangerous knowledge. A temple where only the purest, most dedicated and honest were able to become monks, living and studying there.
Many years later, the dragon awoke once more, but when he looked outside, he saw the library that the order of monks had built around his library. Although it paled in comparison with the great library, the dragon was inspired by the monks. It was inspired by their dedication, their pure and honorable intentions. And like that the dragon opened the great library's door once more, welcoming the monk order as its students, companions and friends.
Basically its something like this.
Still going to write a bit more, but the core of the story is there
