Bring it you bunch of crippled knights! I hope you like rocks cause you're gonna get very closely aquinted with quite a few of 'em! (Taunting to see what reaction will come and generally just making it harder on my guys cause disguised slavery isn't enough..)
Oh boy, you'll love what I'm planning for Relica.
@SgtEasy Should I wait for you, or can I advance the story?
Ohhoo. Best hope the Order doesn't visit, they would easily thrive on your world. Also they love Emprah, so any dishonor is ground for immediate Spartan charge followed by a Spartan kick off a cliff.
@NecroKnight The Emperor does seem to be immortal, therefor probably a god, I'd be surprised if humans weren't tossing those words around already. Now all you need to do is build up a reputation and become the EoM's elite shock troops! And then I can cry in a corner before being exterminatus'd
Name: The Lambda Remnants (Name given by Humanity)
Flag: N/A
Type of Government(So the Empire knows what they are dealing with): N/A
Description of Government: Before their ascension -- or fall -- at their own hands, the Lambda Remnants were a mysterious race, and their government was no different. Isolationist, they only spoke to the outside world via AI constructs. It is suspected that back then, they used AI in their everyday life, and their leftover governmental technology to prove that fact has revolutionized the administrative AIs of the Emporium.
Main race(Your own species, unless you want to play as humans): Incident Lambda
Minority races(humans and what other. Needs to be at least 50% humans if you majority is them): Incident Lambda
No other species ever saw the true appearance of Incident Lambda before they disappeared, but now they can be found in technology, almost like a virus. They take control of computers, powered armor, anything that uses electricity. This means they come in many forms.
Religion(Optional but appreciated): Before their disappearance, they seemed to have a fanatical fascination with their own sun. They worshipped it, they derived their power from it, and they studied it. No other species was ever allowed to get close to it before the Emporium of Man, so very little was known about why they worshipped it so. Everything in their daily life seemed to be connected in one way or another to their sun.
Culture(A paragraph or two): Just the same as their religious connotations, their culture was based around their sun. Sun-based iconography, deference to the sun, solar energy at the forefront, et cetera. Further, they were strictly and fanatically isolationist. They produced everything they needed, and never went to others. They placed a particular importance on defending their territory. As soon as you entered their solar system, you would be blown apart by massive guns, or some things more sinister but dismissed as mere rumors and ghost stories.
History(what you did under the rule of the empire for roughly 300 years): When the Emporium first arrived, the government of what is now the Incident took note. When the EoM expanded, they did nothing. They watched passively as the worlds around them fell. Then, finally, when their planet was the target, they sprung into action. They held off the EoM for years without a single incursion into their solar system. Eventually, however, the guns fell silent. Signals from the civilization ceased entirely.
One moment they were there, and the next they simply weren’t. First EoM scouts moved into the previously occupied solar system, only to meet darkness and silence. The only clue they had that they were in the right place was the graveyard of Emporium ships scattered into a deadly debris field at the edge of the solar system. Barely making it out of the debris field, they continued to report that nothing was visible. Then, they went silent.
Another ship was sent. And another. They all went silent. Finally, a task force was sent. They made their way through the ship graveyard, and reported the same thing. Until the lead ship simply vanished, having gone too far towards the center of the solar system. The others were brought to a stop, and the disappearance was reported and logged. They made a circle, and came across planets. They came across the homeworld, covered in a lightless, dead biosphere and the ruins of once great cities.
The sun was gone. In its place, some kind of portal. No one knew where it went. No one reported back from it. No signals penetrated it, and nothing came out of it.Its exact boundaries were impossible to find exactly, and eventually a research base was set upon the dead homeworld. Here, they discovered the technology the race used.
Here, they studied just what the race had done.
Important characters(very important, your leader, your strategist, your spy master and any other important character IN DETAIL): N/A
Description of Military(ships and ground troops): N/A
Technology(note that there are no energy shields, and that doomsday weapons are not a thing.): A large majority of the technology left behind by the Lambda Remnants are extremely advanced, enough to seem like magic. From incredibly efficient, in some cases even predicting the future with utmost accuracy, AIs, to whatever technology made their sun vanish. While they are not even close to discovering all of the technology left behind, what was left behind has advanced the Emporium dramatically.
Additional(whatever you feel like you want to add):
@WrongEndoftheRainbow I hate to be the buzzkill here. I've quickly read through your sheet and it doesn't feel like an faction to me. All in all it feels mostly like you've described it all as a massive boon to the Empire. I mean, what are the Lambda's goals? In fact, what are they? An AI virus? I got way too many questions unanswered here.
It's still slyboy's decision whether or not to accept you. But I personally got way too many questions unanswered. I'd rather see it get fleshed out more. Try to step away from "this is all super advanced up for the grabs by humans" and move more towards making a faction that works with the humans. (doesn't mean humanity isn't studying your tech. Just make sure that you have your own people that end up using the tech).
@Legion02 There are no people left to use the tech from the original race. They've changed, to put it lightly. They have no need for their old technology.
@WrongEndoftheRainbow I must agree with Legion here. This seems just too much like a "1 UP" of technology for the Empire. I was thinking more a race that actually does something XD.
Like those fanatic Emperor maniacs that Necro is controlling.
@WrongEndoftheRainbow We'll see how they work out in the long run. I'll make a post tomorrow anyways, so you still have time to think up any fancy techs to share with me. I'll just assume that the 1% of your pop is either survivors or AI remnants.
