Name: Confliti
Age: Several thousand years
Gender: Male
Race: Minish
Personality: The Minish as a whole are altruistic sprites straight out of a fairy tale who abhor violence, advocate peace and happiness, and even represent nature through their strong connection to the elements. When one considers these facts, Confliti comes across as the rebellious punk of the people. He's still very pleasant by most people's standards, but unlike the rest of his kind he's highly militant, disciplined in his physical training, and always ready to kick some monster butt (provided he can reach the butt to kick it). Whereas others of his kind spread happiness by hiding gifts in strange places (like rupees in the grass), Confliti knows that people tend to be less happy when monsters are around. So, naturally, someone has to knock their teeth in. Hell hes proven unusually good at it too! It helps that only children can see him.
Outside of his chosen profession as a wandering warrior, Confliti is quick to forge tight bonds of friendship. Though he can be somewhat abrasive at times, and overeager, he'd never intentionally do anything to hurt anybody he's befriended, and he'll be the first to knock your teeth in if you pick on anybody he likes. He values honesty, dedication, and a good sense of humor, the last of which can sometimes get him into trouble as he'll pull the occasional prank on those silly adults that can never know he's there. He also hates being called a Picori. How the giants that live in this world somehow turned "Minish" into "picori" is beyond his comprehension.
Biography: The story of Confliti's life begins with the Great Calamity. The King of Evil, Ganon, returned as foretold, but the people of Hyrule were not prepared. Their plan to stop the recurring destruction had been completely subverted as Ganon turned their guardians and divine beasts against them. He even dealt a killing blow to the great Hero that should have defeated him, and so that hero was placed in a healing stasis for one hundred years. The Princess Zelda of the era awakened the power of Hylia and was able to hold back Ganon, sealing him away, but herself with him for the next hundred years while her chosen knight slumbered. In that time, Ganon's forces ran amok. People ran, but most died. The kingdom of Hyrule was in complete disarray. This is history known to most people, even if it has fallen to legend by now. What most people do not know is how these events affected the Minish, or the Picori as the common man knows them.
Happiness had waned in the century the hero slept. Happiness the Minish depend on in order to thrive. A mystical race omnipresent in Hyrule's history, just beneath the seems, and they had nearly died out completely. A lucky few were able to escape back to the Minish World, but since the doorway to their dimension was located within Hyrule Castle, right where Calamity Ganon sat amidst his Malice, infected Guardians, and elite monsters, it was as good as closed. The few that managed to survive did so by fleeing to the remote areas of Hyrule where the effects of the Great Calamity were not as strong. Of these lands the place with the greatest amount of happiness was Hateno Village.
Confliti was born to survivors of the Great Calamity in the woods near Hateno Village, a mere four years before the awakening of the Hero of Hyrule. They clung to the happiness that came from the nearby village and did whatever they could to encourage more. In their diminished (pun intended) state the usual methods were somewhat difficult (hiding rupees in tall grass/beneath rocks, creation and fusion of kinstones), but they managed with little things, like finding that lost quill someone was looking for, and other small tasks. Confliti grew up with stories from his elders about the legendary Hero, about how he was destined to be reborn time and again in a never ending battle with this world's evil alongside the princess imbued with their greatest power, the Light Force. In these stories the people of Hyrule gave thanks to the Minish (or Picori as they called them) with a regular festival, but no such things happened anymore. In these stories, Minish society flourished all over the kingdom, in the forests, the mountains, and the towns. This was no longer the case. His parents would speak wistfully of the Minish World they had originally come from, and how they desired to return, but alas, the door was trapped within the clutches of Calamity Ganon.
One peculiar day, while a child Confliti was helping the local scientist by moving some lost papers back into sight, a young man entered. He did not wear the green tunic, but in every other way this young man resembled the legendary hero his parents had spoken of. The conversation this young man had with the scientist confirmed it. Excited, overjoyed, Confliti hitched a ride on the young hero's shoe. They went back to the center of the village and the hero showed off some of his weapons to a local boy, which made the boy
very happy indeed. After that, the hero went and bought a house, right there in Hateno! Alas, his stay in the village was not very long, for he had to set out on his quest. Confliti's first instinct was to ride along, to join the hero, but decided against it. His parents would worry too much. So as the hero took off, so did Confliti, back for his home in the nearby treeline.
A number of weeks later, news spread about the remains of Hyrule like wildfire. The princess was back! Together, she and the hero had destroyed Calamity Ganon! Relief and joy spread across the kingdom in such a way that Confliti had never felt before! He never knew there even
could be this much joy! Compared to this, what he had felt in the people before was so cold. All this happiness came about from destroying the King of Evil, the Great Calamity Ganon. Happiness that the hero and the princess created, something far greater than anything he had ever seen from his upbringing, retrieving quills and finding lost dolls. It was then, at a mere four years old, that Confliti had made the biggest decision of his life. He was going to become a mighty warrior. To slay monsters was to bring the greatest happiness in the world, and he didn't give a damn about his size!
With the safety of Hyrule Castle now ensured, Confliti's parents made a decision of their own. They were going back to the Minish World. Though he was still so young, the Minish mature quickly, so Confliti was allowed to make his own decision to stay behind. He had no ties to the Minish World, he was born in Hyrule, and now had sworn to protect it with his life. He and his parents gave their final goodbyes. Some went back with them, others stayed behind in Hyrule to help rebuild, and more still would come through the door. The Minish would repopulate, over time, but it seemed the damage done to their reputation was irreversible. Nobody knew about their existence anymore, and they could only be seen by good children that behaved themselves. The annual Picori Festival still wouldn't be performed.
For many years Confliti trained himself with his brethren in and near Hateno Village. His people possessed great magic tied to the elements of the earth, but he largely ignored their natural aptitude in favor of a more martial approach. Sure, he learned a bit here and there, but only because a Minish with no knowledge of the elements is like a fish that cannot swim. He worked and trained and trained until his body was honed to absolute Minish perfection, then he trained some more. Sometimes he would get one of the hylian kids in the village to help him out by building a little weight lifting gym, or by sparring with them, or even just by stamping the ground really hard for core balance training.
Alas, even though his people were slowly rebuilding, they were not warriors. They could not teach him any forms of combat, just peace and magic. Confliti came to the realization, at the youthful age of 345, that he would have to travel in order to learn the actual art of combat. He gave his goodbyes, packed up his belongings, and hitched a ride on a trade caravan heading to Akkala.
Though the journey was long, the young minish was grateful for the transportation. He knew that on foot he would take years to get anywhere worthwhile, as opposed to the scant weeks or months. Still, when he did arrive at various locales, he came upon the same problem time and time again. That being, there simply was not anybody he could find that could teach him actual combat techniques. Here and there he'd find more of his own kind, either those that survived the Great Calamity or new minish immigrants from the door beneath the castle. Still, none of them were warriors just like back in Hateno. The giants that owned the world weren't any better. After all, only well behaved children could see him, and
they've never held a blade before in their lives.
One day, after fighting back an evil swallow, Confliti was dropped from the sky and into a canopy of trees. He fell from enough height to reach terminal velocity, and hit every branch on the way down. Thankfully his size meant terminal velocity wasn't lethal, but his arm had broken pretty bad. Confliti was forced to rest to recover, and made a new home out of the trees, the only minish in the area. Time passed as his arm healed, and a new group entered his temporary home. An order of knights setup shop, tearing down tress for a training camp for new members of the order, the Watchdogs. At first Confliti was angered by this transgression. After all, the tree he had made a home of had been sawed down for firewood! But as they set themselves up and he saw the fruits of their training and the constant pranks he pulled by misplacing their equipment became less funny, he saw this event for what it truly was: an opportunity.
Unbeknownst to any of the Watchdogs, they had an extra student training in their form of combat. Confliti was just as dedicated, if not more, as any other knight of the Watchdogs. He woke up early to begin his training, shared in the initiates' punishments by his own hand, and practiced with the others while watching from a tree branch or atop another knight's helmet. He stayed for 3 generations of Watchdogs, mastering their style of combat before deigning to move on.
Confliti felt ready. He had the strength, the resolve, and now the training. It was finally time to head out and start killing some monsters. As the Watchdogs graduates departed for their posts, so too did Confliti hitch a ride. Armed with a greatsword fashioned in the design of his people, he was going to take on the world! Unfortunately he had forgotten how very very
very big the world was. His first encounter with monsters was a random attack on a trade caravan by some chuchus. Without hesitation he picked up his blade, charged into his enemy, and attacked! Slash after slash he chopped at the nearest of the chuchus, and once he had tired himself out he realized... The chuchu hadn't even noticed he was there. The monster's gelatinous body meant his tiny attacks did nothing! So he called upon the ancient magic of the earth and summoned lightning to his hands. With this he thrust his electrified blade back into the creature... Which promptly adapted to the elemental attack to become stronger.
By the time Confliti had realized that all his attacks were completely useless, the caravan had already bolted out of there. He had done his best to protect them, and his reward was an unbeatable adversary, and a long walk on the road. Cursing the situation, but glad the chuchu never knew he was even there, he sheathed his blade and kept walking until a new caravan came by that he could take advantage of. Weeks later, Confliti found himself at a stable outside the Eldin province. Irritable, he practiced each day so as not to lose his form and kept an ear out for any signs of trouble. One day news came about that a group of bokoblins were planning to attack the stable. Putting on his game face, Confliti grabbed his weapon and prepared for the attack.
The bokoblins came in the middle of the night, just as predicted. The stable hands had mounted a sturdy defense and fought well. Confliti never even got the chance to fight himself. That's when it showed up. A tall, black moblin with a long spear. The stable hands had been prepared for the small, loosely organized, and dim-witted bokoblins. A moblin was a much bigger threat than any were prepared to handle. Everyone retreated to the stables and boarded the doors, expecting the worst. Everyone except for their invisible, unknown protector. Confliti perched himself near the main stable, waiting for the great beast to lumber over. Once it began beating its hands against the door, he dropped down from the rooftop and landed on the creature's long snout. While it couldn't see him, it felt him, and tried to swat its own face to relieve what it thought to be an annoying itch. Imagine the moblin's surprise when a small piece of metal pierced its eye and shot electricity through its brain!
The moblin collapsed, dead as a door nail. Unsure as to what had happened, the stable workers investigated the scene, but of course could never find their mysterious protector. The minish warrior felt fulfilled, and knew their joy was great. He had finally done it! He had slain a monster, proven himself a warrior! With newfound pride he set out to wander the kingdom in search of monsters to slay, and people to protect. This was a long period in his life as he wandered from town to town, getting into fight after fight. In a few settlements he had made friends with the children, informing them he was going to be their guardian. The parents always laughed, thinking their kids had made up some new imaginary friend. Yet those same parents were always dumbfounded when monster attacks failed, creatures killed by some invisible force nobody could explain. Nobody but their children, at any rate.
Confliti's travels finally brought him to Death Mountain, where he had heard a great many beasts could be found. Normally they weren't much of an issue since the native gorons had few predators, but Confliti couldn't resist the temptation. The journey was long, difficult, and arduous, but he made the most of it. However his greatest challenge on the mountain wasn't battling any monsters, but of a far more domestic nature. The first person he came across was a small goron child, being raised by his father. The father wasn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, and had a very hard time picking a name for his child. Still, he was a loving father, and did his best to teach the young child to speak, starting with the word of their people, "goron." Confliti sat in and helped ease the child. After the father had gotten frustrated and left, the minish warrior worked with the goron child until he was finally able to say "gorn." When the father came back, he was so impressed with his son that that is what he chose as his name.
For many years, Confliti stuck around Gorn. There was something about the kid that he liked, and it's not like his bumbling father could be trusted to look after him very well. So as Gorn grew, so too did their bond. Meaner kids would try to bully him for having a dimwit for a dad, or for still having an "imaginary friend." It reached a head when some particularly nasty kids attacked young Gorn, but Confliti was having none of that. He jumped from Gorn's shoulder to the other kid, then crawled around in his ear causing all sorts of trouble. It hurt, but the minish knew not to cause any lasting damage. From that day on, bullies gave Gorn a wide berth, afraid he had the protection of the gods.
Whenever Confliti decided it was time for him to leave, Gorn would convince him to stick around, for just a bit longer. The minish wanted his friend to remember him as he was, since Gorn wouldn't be able to see him once he grew up, but the kid always kept him from going. Then one day, Gorn
did grow up! Somehow, miraculously, Gorn never stopped being able to see Confliti. Neither are entirely sure why, but since Gorn isn't able to see any other minish, Confliti theorizes that because his friend never stopped believing in him, he never stopped seeing him. Regardless as to the reason, both were incredibly happy. Gorn eventually became a traveling merchant, and Confliti got himself a permanent ride around the kingdom. For a couple hundred years now they've wandered about from place to place together, wherever Gorn can make a profit and Confliti can kick some butt. They've made a good amount of money from the monster parts leftover in the fights.
Now the times are changing, and the two find themselves in Hyrule Castle Town. Murders have grown more prominent, monster attacks more frequent, and the Yiga Clan and the Cult of Ganon are more active than either have been in a great deal of time. Confliti feels the growing darkness of Ganon. He knows first hand what it is capable of. He's ready to meet it head on in the ultimate David and Goliath story.

Feats -
- [Minish] Blessed Sprites - Their small size means they can reach places others can normally not, but it also means they take double damage if they are struck in their tiny form. Because of their tiny size it's usually not a problem as people normally can't see them anyways. Minish also have a blessing and can bless their allies, allowing them and their companions to find curatives where there normally shouldn't be any (recover 25% hearts after combat, minimum 1 heart, rounded down.)
- [Watchdogs] Might and Skill
- [Trait] Colossus Climb (Even the most basic of foes tower over Confliti like great giants. He's trained himself to be able to climb even the most jerky and unforgiving of surfaces in order to reach an enemiy's weak point)
- [Trait] Enhanced Defense
- [Spell] Conductive Charge (Channels electricity through the hands to charge conductive objects, like metal weapons and surfaces, or to zap enemies)
- [Spell] Lightning Rush (The user super charges their body for a brief, blinding blast of speed. Confliti uses this to cross the battlefield quickly, as otherwise he's dancing around a vast area surrounded by giants.)
