Abilities: James' albinism gives his skin an almost transparent quality to it. Its almost some sort of cruel pun for his abilities. James is able to make himself and anything in his direct touch invisible, which is very useful when is comes to battle. He is also able to phase through solid objects.
Non-mutational Skills: The violin has been a love of James' ever since he was a child...so when he needs to calm down you can find him plucking or playing his violin.
Personality: He loves talking to people, but sometimes he just can't find the right words to say and he comes off as a rather anxious person. Sometimes, James just doesn't think things through and ends up embarrising himself due to his impulsive tendencies. His impulsive tendencies often lead to very self destructive decisions when it comes to helping others.
Goals: He wants to meet people like him. Maybe not albino..but not being stared at at every turn would be nice. "The meaning of life is bucket!"
Fears/Weaknesses:
-Not being accepted

Backstory/Extra stuff: His parents, who were admired for the sheer strength they had due to their mutations did not approve so much of James. Compared to his stronger brother and sisters, James seemed like a runt. Pale. Lanky. Vunerable. His mutations made him the least desirable, and caused him to be isolated from his own family for all his life. Being accepted by the island is the best thing to have happened to him in..well..ever.

What kinds of weapons are common on the island, by the way?
It'd be cool to have an idea of what my character's dad would have taught him on a bit before the RP actually gets started.

Also, what kind of animals are on the island? Like your typical pigs and cows and stuff or some weird mutant animals?

I'm assuming Jaeda just isn't available at the moment. I know she didn't say anything about it being full just yet, so as long as your characters fit the rules I'm guessing they're probably accepted.

Okie dokie. I was away from interwebs this weekend. Sorry. So, the interest check and ooc both say closed across the top and have since saturday around 6. Anyone who expressed interest before then is good to make a cs. Others enter an 'alternate' status incase someone drops out.
Yoyo, you are accepted. Kirra, go right ahead and work on your sheet. Nitrogentle, you were in my count when I decided to close, so you can go on with your sheet too. Batman, you fall in to the alt category. If Cantide doesn't show up by wednesday, your character is accepted and will fill that slot. IC will hopefully be up in a few days.
Animals include basic, normal animals as well as interesting hybrids and gennetically engineered ones. No dragons or unicorns have managed to be created yet, alas, but you can be somewhat creative with family pets. Keilan has candlewick, a cat/bat mod. :p
Weapons on the island include modernized ballistic weapons (basic hand guns and snipers, minimal artillery), laser/energy blades as well as some made of a nearly indestructable alloy, and energy based fire arms that allow for lethal or stun damage. The civilian grades require relatively frequent recharges or battery pack changes. Rumor has it that the island's scientists have perfected/are perfecting and are nearly ready to present weapons or energy based items with a perpetual energy systems. Nothing has a specific name as of yet, if you'd like to offer suggestions or ideas.

I recommend Gamma, Beta, and Alpha blades for the energy swords! Like, Alpha blades would be the weakest and basically only cut through paper, beta could cut through wood, and gamma could penetrate up to 4 inches of lead. Just like the types of radiation!

Sorry about the long delay, this weekend was very hectic for me. Here is my character sheet. It's a little bit on the short side and a bit unorganized but don't worry, my post will be better than this.

Name: Harper Ellington
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Mutation: Harper has the ability over metal and as a slight off-branch of her powers, her hair is partially composed of metal giving it a coppery, metallic shine that is uncommon in normal hair.
Appearance:


Standing at the height of 5' 4", Harper has an average build for a woman her age. Her copper colored hair has a vibrant metallic shine that even though the coloring seems to be unnatural and dyed by a professional, the coloring almost seems to be natural on Harper.

Abilities: Even though she is not able to change the attributes that make up a metal, such as weight and chemical makeup of the metal, she is able move and change the shape of both magnetic and non-magnetic metals. Similar to the fantastic four movie with the silver surfer, Harper is able to fly with the help of a metal disks he can form and control in midair. She is able to mold the metal she is controlling to her hands and arms at a slight degree so that she can create tools or weapons that would be attached to her. Her copper concentrated hair is only has an aesthetic value but can be problematic when it comes to going through metal detectors.

Non-mutational Skills: Harper is someone that thinks quickly on her feet and is able to hatch up a plan or idea quite quickly. She has a knack when it comes to mechanical and technological work.

Personality: Harper is a serious person that devotes work as her first priority in life as she strives to perform the best that she can, though she does come off as a little bit of a perfectionist at times. While not overly talkative, she is someone that is quite social towards others, though she does have a sarcastic tongue to her. While she can be quite blunt with her words, she cares deeply about her friends and family and will stand up for them or aid them when they are in need.

Goals: Harper is a type of person that always wants to push herself to do the best that she can do. With this new opportunity coming up to leave the island, Harper is wanting to go into the unknown and forge herself a new direction that isn’t in the footsteps of her parents and see how far she can run with it.

Fears/Weaknesses: Even though she is quite forgiving of misstates others cause, Harper is very strict, if not a bit harsh, about her own faults and mistakes.

Backstory/Extra stuff: Both Harper's parents were a part of the small police force on the island and it was thought that Harper would follow their footsteps when she became an adult. However, Harper wasn’t interested in police work but was rather interested in engineering and other mechanical and technological work. While her father was a little bitter with her decision, both were supportive and pushed her to perform the best that she could. However, after life went on she wanted to do more, accomplish more. she didn't want the meaning of her life to be about buckets and other minute work. Her answer came when she was given the opportunity to leave the island, Harper was very ecstatic and accepted the offer without a second thought.
