Everyone has a song they just identify with, REALLY identify with. A song that is so them, it's like the song was written ABOUT them. I like getting to know more about my fellow RPers, and it would be VERY interesting to see how everyone answers this question. We have a "what are you listening to now" thread, so it's time for a new type of music topic. What song would you consider to be your personal themesong? This is occasionally on Character Sheets, and it would be interesting to see what everyone comes up with!

The song I've come to really identify with over the last month or two is Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day:

I often find that songs of the bands Thousand Foot Krutch and Skillet tend to describe how I feel really good. I'm not sure what my theme song would be right now, but until a few days ago it used to be Sick of it by Skillet.

Ooh if you love Monster you should look up more of their songs, I think you'll like them. Some if the ones I like best are:
Live free or let me die
Awake and alive
It's not me it's you
Not gonna die
Falling in the black
Whispers in the dark
Dead inside

I know some of the titles sound pretty dark and most aren't exactly happy lyrics neither, but they're still great. Also if you like them, I'll send you the titles of some Thousand Foot Krutch songs, those guys are awesome!

Probably a cliche but the song's lyrics are pretty cool and remind me of how I feel about myself. Be that a good or bad thing.

Not to mention the song is one of the few ear worm makers I am fine with.

I often joke that this is my song. Because....well....I'm not ten feet, but I am absurdly tall for a girl. 6', with a tendency to wear one or two inch heels.

I have yet to come up with a proper theme song.

After much thought on this, I finally settled on the one song I would listen to over and over again as a teenager.

It's depressing I know but it's not like any of you know what goes on inside my head or how life has left me feeling.

No point blaming anyone but yourself. If you can't do it, don't blame anyone, it's own goddamn fault, push the f*ck harder. Sort of a personal motto

That's pretty damn sad, it really is. But relateable in some ways. It sucks when such a sad song can be listed as one that represents you. Try to keep your head up, Cayden; things have to improve sometime. That's what I've been telling myself anyway, and maybe that will help you to remember!

I've been called an asshole numerous times because of my style of humour and how I react to people and stuff.

Don't worry much. I suffer from depressive fazes and recently it hit home again on that mark.

Well, hot-diggity! What a topic! This is exciting 'cause, well, I'm a composer. I see someone used a Two Steps From Hell song to describe themself. You, my lady, have my utmost respect. *bows*

Now, for a theme song. I'm a composer, as stated, more specifically a film/trailer/game music composer. I love creating musical themes for the heck of it, and hear music in my head often that fits the mood of whatever is going on at the time. It has taken me 10 years to do this, but here is my theme song. I composed it myself.

My Theme Song

Composed digitally in Steinberg Cubase 5 using EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum, and several plugins for Kontakt 5. Enjoy. ^_^

There are several songs that convey different parts of my personality extraordinarily well, though I have yet to find one that encompasses me as a whole.

First up is Green Day's Jesus of Suburbia, and while the title may make me sound very egotistical, I don't think I'm Jesus at all. From what I've been told, I'm something of a hipster. I don't care what people label me as, because I'm so happy to be me and not be the poster child for American mal-health. If I think I ought to do something, I am going to do it. And I've reached a point where I am done apologizing for having an opinion or sticking to my beliefs. Nearly everyone seems to think I'm crazy and delusional because of my perception of the world, but I think that all those people are blind and force themselves to be hopeless and see the entire world as an orb of failures waiting for fruition.
Green Day said I'm the son of rage and love

Green Day said And there's nothing wrong with me
This is how I'm supposed to be
In a land of make believe
That don't believe in me

Green Day said The motto was just a lie
It says home is where your heart is
But what a shame
Cause everyone's heart
Doesn't beat the same
It's beating out of time

Green Day said City of the dead
At the end of another lost highway
Signs misleading to nowhere
City of the damned
Lost children with dirty faces today
No one really seems to care

Green Day said I read the graffiti
In the bathroom stall
Like the holy scriptures of the shopping mall
And so it seemed to confess
It didn't say much
But it only confirmed that
The center of the earth
Is the end of the world
And I could really care less

Green Day said Everyone is so full of shit
Born and raised by hypocrites

Green Day said Are we demented or am I disturbed?
The space that's in between insane and insecure
Oh, therapy, can you please fill the void?
Am I retarded or am I just overjoyed?
Nobody's perfect and I stand accused
For lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse

Green Day said To live and not to breathe
Is to die in tragedy

Green Day said I don't feel any shame, I won't apologize
When there ain't nowhere you can go
Running away from pain when you've been victimized

Then, we have Green Day's J.A.R. I have one life to live. That means that every single decision counts, especially while I'm still fifteen. If the average American lives to be 72, I'm almost a quarter of the way through my life-span. So I do think it's alright that I do what I like, cuz that's the way I wanna live.
Green Day said My friend drove off the other day
Now he's gone and all they say
Is you gotta live cause life goes on
But now I see I'm mortal too
and I cant live my life like you
Gotta live it up while life goes on

And I think it's alright
That I do what I like
Cause thats the way I wanna live
Its how I give
And I'm still giving

And now I wonder bout my friend
And if he gave all he could give
Cause he lived his life like I live mine
If you could see inside my head
Then you would start to understand
The things I value in my heart

And I think it's alright
That I do what I like
Cause thats the way I wanna live
Its how I give
And I'm still giving

You know that
I know that
You're watching me

And I think it's alright
That I do what I like
Cause thats the way I wanna live
Its how I give
And I'm still giving

Gotta make a plan
Gotta do what's right
Can't run around in circles
If ya wanna build a life
But I don't wanna make a plan
For a day far away
While im young and while I'm able
All I wanna do is...

And finally (you guessed it) Green Day's Angel Blue.
Green Day said Gonna build it up just to burn it down
You're a princess, I'm a fucking clown
Stop the presses cause I'm killing time
Won't you be my bloody valentine

You're just a fucking kid
And no one ever gives you a break
You want a señorita
And now your heart is gonna break

You're angel blue
With teenage traces
Angel blue
With pretty faces

Stab my heart like a stick in the mud
Cut my chest just to see the blood
Now I'm singing out the alphabet
As the tears are putting out my cigarette
We'll hit the cemetary so we can see the holiday lights
Waking up the dead and everything'll be alright

You're angel blue
With teenage traces
Angel blue
With pretty faces

Alright
Stuck in the middle of Heaven and Hell
Alright
Trying to find my better angels

Stab my heart like a stick in the mud
Cut my chest just to see the blood
Stop the presses cause I'm killing time
Won't you be my bloody valentine

You're just a fucking kid
And no one ever gives you a break
You want a señorita
And now your heart is gonna break

You're angel blue
With teenage traces
Angel blue
With pretty faces

Until The End - Breaking Benjamin. Has been for a long time, sometimes moreso than others. Right now it represents me quite well.

Might be a bit cheesey but I think the over the top optimism and positivity in this song is pretty fitting.
