Hunting Specialty: Acolytes
Bio: Victor Strade, privileged enough to be born into a middle class family, grew up in St. Alves Republic. As the son to a mid-ranking politician, Victor’s time growing up was relatively simple. Having had the chance of formal education along with any of his childish desires, life was easy to say the least.
As Victor approached his 12th birthday his father had slowly began guiding Victor’s attention to the monstrous and mystical. He latched onto the information he was given, and soon enough he had taken up training to hunting the foul. His father remained surprisingly supportive of Victor, something that he only wondered about when he had time to focus on anything but practice.
Years passed; field work alongside mentors and professional hunters came and went until Victor was officially eligible to take contracts and tasks up on his own. Victor was suddenly approached by his father regarding targets that seemed all too convenient for his old man’s sake to have vanish. Oblivious and nothing but eager to begin his first official hunts he followed along, only to find out that the people his father had tasked him with were actually competitors in the political scene who meddled with dark forces in secrecy to further their own goals. Victor had carried the kills out and confronted his father; both decided it best for them to seperate ways. They grew distant, and eventually out of touch. Years passed, and Victor continued to dedicate his life to hunting the wicked and devious. His targets were primarily acolytes - people that seemed like any other on the outside, but dark and grueling on the inside.
Without the surveillance of his father, Victor reverted to his usual ways. He used his occupation as a hunter to gain a reputation and the reward money to become one of the upper-middle class socialites of St Alves. Soon, his job was offset by partying and prostitutes. He found himself entrenched in the subtleties of blackmail and gossip - anyone who was rich and famous enough would inevitably find themselves elbowing with all the other high-culture personalities of the city. Luckily for Victor, the fact he specialised in hunting down acolytes near the area meant he knew whose uncle practiced necromancy for 3 months in the wine cellar, or which manager was busy performing blood rites to try and coerce his employees into working for lower wages.
After a particularly rough day at work, Victor realised he was being followed by a grubby little urchin. Abigail Harlow. A girl that, at first, was nothing more than a set of eyes and ears that people would rather ignore than show sympathy towards. Victor saw the opportunity; with this girl under his charge, he could continue to dig up dirt and find leads for future missions with more time to indulge himself in the city. It was surprising that someone who Victor saw as nothing more than bait turned into a valuable asset, and eventually well looked-after friend. As the girl carried out task after task to allow Victor to succeed in his hunts, he realised her desire to be more useful than just a face in a crowd. His age and experience allowing him to begin mentoring her as soon as it was fit.
