Role - Ship Captain of the starship "Broken Dream"
Gender - Female
They look like a young version of the kindly old lady who will give you cookies if you stop by to chat. With a robot arm, a outrageously cool looking hair cut, and muscles. A scar on her left leg, along with a birth mark on the back of her neck.
Personality - If there was one word to describe this woman, it would be kind. If there were two words, how ever, they would be Kind and Headstrong. On her ship, everyone is family and there is nothing stopping that. You will get protection, food, and love on The Broken Dream whether you like it or not. She's usually seen walking around, delegating tasks for her "Boys and Girls" as she calls them. Omor will go out of her way to help anyone in need, however, she isn't one to forgive more than once. You get two tries with this one. Then its out the airlock for you.
History - Not much is known about "Hobo Queen" other than she was a refugee and found her BEAST at a young age. She's never seen without it and affectionately calls him "Prince". (More Explained RP side)
Equipment - She carries with her at all times, a Plasma Pistol, a Stun Baton, and a low level Personal Force Field. The field provides a good amount of protection from physical attacks or damage, for example, falling down holes or being hit with a sword, but provides little to no protection from energy based weapons. The field can also be used for active camouflage, but the heat signature produced while in it creates a problem against those with infrared.
Ship - She owns two, a Colony Class Ship named Broken Dream and a Fighter/Engager type Ship named The Key
Backstory: Where ever Omor would go, she would find those who needed help, those with Broken Dreams and Shattered Realities. She simply could not turn a blind eye to those in need. Thus the construction of Broken Dream was started. She looked to her patrons, and said "Go. Find your broken ships, your scrap pieces, the parts no one wants. Much like yourself, you feel like you are like these parts I am telling you to find. But together, you are so much more." Soon, the ship was a conglomerate of just about every ship you could dream of.
Appearance: The ship is a scrap heap of ships that looks like it could never fly, but off of raw man power they pulled it together. In total, there is about 40 different ships combined into what is now known as the "Broken Dream." Three wings come out of its two sides, and bottom, each from a different scrapped ship. 4 different engines are on the back, pushing it along. The inside is no different, looking like a small city of pipes, steam and boxy looking buildings for living in. The hull is actually two ships different hulls welded together, which needs to be constantly worked on.
Defense: Other than a small group of fighter ships calling themselves "The Dreamers" the Broken Dream has no laser cannons or the likes to destroy any threats. They usually don't have to, seeing as destroying the Broken Dream would have more negatives than positives.
Crew: The Crew of The Broken Dream is mainly passengers, each of which provide a bit of income from doing various tasks in the nearby solar systems. Most are just citizens however. Few stay behind to look after things, fix things, pass out food, etc.
A Simple Fighter Class Ship that She keeps to go Treasure Hunting.
Activity - I can log on almost every day after work. I live on the west coast, and I work Sunday - Thursday 9-4 usually. Fridays and Saturdays I will usually be active all day so those are the days I can post the most, but I will strive to post every day.
what do you think? I checked the CS's because i wanted to make a role that nobody had done, and i was surprised nobody made a captain, so i did. :)
=======================================
Name - Elijah Allan McConnell Nickname(s): Eli, Allan, Al, Mac, Conn Alias/codename: Morning Star
Age - 33
Species - Human (probably...mostly...)
Role - Captain of the Hellion (if it's available)
Gender - Male
Appearance -
Personality - Known to bend the rules, Elijah Allan McConnell has been called a maverick captain, though he certainly wouldn't call himself that. McConnell is very level-headed and usually makes measured, rational decisions, tactically as well as personally. He is witty and sarcastic, even on the bridge, but never lets his sense of humour or personal issues get in the way of doing the job, at least not often. He is human after all. He is highly intelligent, intuitive, and analytical. He also prefers the company of a couple of friends over his entire crew, earning him a reputation as an introverted loner. However, he loves his crew, and spends as much time with them as possible...just not all at once. Captain McConnell is also perceptive, straight-forward, and often self-deprecating. He is quick to take the blame for something, even when it's not his fault at all, and if he can reasonably cover for one of his soldiers' mistakes or lacks in judgment, he will. As long as it doesn't harm anyone.
History - His military records show that Elijah McConnell was an average kid up until puberty, where he not only grew physically, but also mentally. His high intelligence and natural intuition made him a perfect candidate for officer school in the Coalition. However, soon after he graduated the training academy, he went missing for a couple of months. When he returned, he would not speak of what had happened, and the Coalition military ordered him not to speak of it, essentially classifying and sweeping away any independent investigation. Elijah McConnell quickly rose through the ranks until he became the Tactical Executive Officer on the Rainstorm, under his cousin, Captain Brinehard. The Rainstorm was destroyed and his captain was killed in a battle with the Throgg, making Commander McConnell the acting-captain. Upon his return, he was formerly promoted to Captain and given the command of his first ship, the Hellion. He has one younger brother named Simon. Their parents are dead.
Ship - I am assuming he can captain the Hellion if it is available. If not, he would like a similar ship called Tears of Silence. His crew would be no more than a couple hundred, no less than a dozen, mostly rookies since he's a relatively new captain. If possible, the ship has an AI (hologram and android) called Kimmy.
Activity - In a perfect world, I can post every day, but as I have just discovered this week, I am in like 20 RPs, so I'm gonna say once a week to be safe. But most likely every other day or every two days.
Extras - If anyone wants to play his crew in addition to the current main characters you are currently playing, that would be cool. If you want ideas, I would like someone similar to Percy on StarHunter as tech or helm, Jadzia Dax as science or security, someone with a bad bedside manner as the medical officer, and an Alan Rickman type as an XO.
@Thread Generator SIN Been mulling an idea for a character with psychic abilities around but wanted your input on the subject before I did any real thinking. It'd be like Mass Effect Biotics mixed with a little empath stuff.
@Thread Generator SIN I think I'm gonna expand a bit on the Raid's capabilities/systems (and see if I can find some good pictures to go with it) a bit as well as give it its own place in the CS for a bit easier access. I'll let you know when I'm done. Shouldn't be anything too drastic of a change - would still prefer them starting off a bit small and getting better as the RP progresses~
EDIT:
And done. Do tell if there are problems~ Upped the potential crew from 8 to a max of 15 if they pack 'em in a bit and they clean out a few storage rooms.
Appearance - Kathirians are tailless animal-like aliens covered in fur, with a snout stretching out from their heads and two pointy ears. Other then that, they're quite a lot like humans in shape and functions, known for ranging in a variety of colors.
Holiday specifically has a dark shade of blue covering his body, with yellow eyes and a black iris. He stands slightly shorter then the average height of a human, with no known physical oddities then a scar stretching down his back. Body shape is rectangular, lacking muscle or fat.
His apparel is an insulting combination of human clothes found within his vessel, trousers with boots, a button-up long-sleeve shirt, then a long leather trench coat and a flat cap over his head. Despite being a total fashion hazard, he is often quick to discard most of it when the trouble ensues. For operations that are in hostile environs, he'll go with his basic lucky suit and chest plate armor.
Personality - Constantly dipping into humor as life goes on, Holiday's behavior can be described in three words; confident, optimistic and facetious. No plan goes right in defying galactic law, so wherever there is a failure there will be Holiday- making fun of said failure no matter how dire. His whole behavior is surrounded by this jocular behavior, confident in being ridiculous or outlandish, as well as his optimism followed with constantly prodding at things and how bizarre the galaxy can be. It doesn't help much that he is without fatigue, going on and on much to the dismay of anyone who is around him, somehow always coming back from the deepest of pits of despair while making a ridiculous reference to some outer-rim movie.
History - Holiday is young, which is very telling with his progress in life.
The Kathirian species are notorious for their large families which inhabit the universe. They're always refugees, migrants and lowly workers, their culture reinforced with staying together in large packs. It was deep within the bowels of SB798-17 that a village-sized Kathirian population would dwell, with Holiday constantly stirring up trouble with other families. His brothers were numerous and had their feuds with many others, and Holiday was the eldest of his pack, all of his siblings looking to him to lead them in their youthful aggression, to which he did with much success. During their childhood years their crimes were insignificant, but nonetheless exciting to their boring lives of being home all day. Food, tools and money were commonly taken from other homes as they went about their business.
Their teen years would be followed with open brawls against both Katharians and other inhabitants, the brothers gathering together into their own gang as violence kept on mounting. Despite their over-worked parents scolding them for their behavior, it never ceased, the brothers disobedience and relentlessness causing numerous arrests as they got older. Thankfully their time in jail was short and they would always reunite as soon as possible.
But their actions were not without consequence. It was inevitable that the first of them would die in a violent shootout, more ensuing. As the gang would decrease with attrition, the situation became more and more grim, their parents quickly passing once it became too hard to see what their children had become.
Filled with guilt, Holiday confronted his brothers with a desire to abandon their criminal activities. Despite being bruised and having a scar from the fight that broke out, he hasn't dared to return to that street since.
Signing on with pirate who desperately needed crew, Holiday's story would become as typical as ever of any fortunate criminal- working his way in a short matter of years, getting his own ship and having worthy gear to boot. His greed is without end, constantly pushing himself forward to try more dangerous and life-threatening plans to gather more loot, getting drunk when the money can be spent and making lackluster jokes along the way. His desperation shines through the shell of confidence sometimes, guilt for leaving his brothers behind is as endless as the greed.
Equipment Space Revolver - With blue light surrounding the sights and black paint everywhere else, the "Space Revolver" is a lethal military-grade weapon that fires bullets similar to a 50. cal. While the bullets themselves are only capable of penetrating the most basic of armor, the real threat comes in the bullet's impact, capable of knocking down those too tough or armored to kill. The name of the actual gun is unknown, Holiday simply calls it space revolver for his own enjoyment. (He insists "Holiday Special" was another idea, but was weird to say.)
Pocket Tool Device - While most of the tiny tools in this device aren't lethal by any stretch of the means, it has proven to be useful in causing trouble, from cutting rope with a tiny knife to hacking terminals with lacking security. It also serves as a short-range communication device, similar to a cell-phone.
Lucky Spandex - A sophisticated and form-fitting black suit worn under the all of Holiday's clothing. It remains on at all times, capable of propelling itself in space with tiny jets on the feet, to having a helmet form over his face from tiny nanobots that inhabit the suit with it's own oxygen supply, these nanobots can also assist in preventing severe blood loss or protecting from blunt force, though cannot outright stop either from killing Holiday. Where this suit comes from and who originally owned it is up for debate, Holiday has come to calling it "Lucky Spandex"
Ship
The Europa
The Basics - Holiday's personal quarters, a guest room with one set of bunks (presently this room is used to store misc. junk), a engine/generator room, a lounge/communications room and the cockpit at the fore. All of this is connected by a single incredibly slim hallway, at the end of which is filled with more boxes. A lot of junk lays about, from stolen objects to a valuable relic or too, less of a void-worthy vessel and more of a flying treasure trove...of junk. Mostly. The name would seem to imply it is a human vessel, though Holiday has denied stealing it more then once.
Weaponry - Two small turrets are attached underneath the cockpit, controlled by the pilot. They fire large rounds similar to that of a tank at a higher speed, lacking severely in explosive power but packing a mighty punch. Other then that, there is one 'pod' of missiles that pops out of the roof of The Europa, with a total of eight being able to be fired at once.
Activity - My mood and inspiration changes unfortunately, and that determines how willing I am to post. I'm not going to hold up the RP for a week is what I can promise. If I take too long to post or if inspiration dies, I'll come into the OOC and say that I'm quitting. If I SOMEHOW don't end up doing that and haven't posted in awhile, boot me from the thread entirely with extreme prejudice. Seriously, if I don't post within at least a few days and don't respond to a @, then boot me with extreme prejudice.
Extras - I'd consider Holiday to be a comedic relief for me since I've always written serious stuff, so don't expect him to get heavily invested into philosophy and the living conditions of the modern galaxy 24/7. Though that doesn't mean him being dark isn't off the table, it'll just only be reserved for particular moments.
Like whenever someone gives me some freedom, I may get a little crazy. Tell me if anything needs to change.
Also, if it's okay with you and [@Rune Alchemist] to put it in the ship, maybe I can add this to Nova?
It's a scout bike for Nova, mostly for speed with one onboard gun for weapons. Something to keep up with the mech.
It's fine.
@TheUnknowable A couple nerfs. First no hyperdrive. An emergency jump drive is fine for uncommon use but technology only allows for phase gates to be the consistent method of travel between systems. Small jumps are fine, like from planet to planet within the same system. Also I'm gonna downsize your ship just a bit so it can fit in the hangar of the Hellion so it's down to a Corvette from a frigate. The rest is looking alright. I look forward to seeing the finished character.
@Infamous EmpathThe hellion is a pirate ship. Still want to captain it?
@Thread Generator SIN Been mulling an idea for a character with psychic abilities around but wanted your input on the subject before I did any real thinking. It'd be like Mass Effect Biotics mixed with a little empath stuff.

Lookin good ^^ Upgrade class to Heavy cruiser from corvette please.
@Vecee Your sheet looks good. However I'm afraid I'm (slightly)downsizing your ship to a fighter and putting it aboard the hellion. It can still have its same armaments and features just....visibly smaller. If you are okay with this, your character is accepted.
