Muttonhawk Let Slip the Corgis of War

I see. Then how would a village react to a firbeling? Not that I can't work around this, but I'm curios as to how far this aversion goes.

They would probably try to cut it up and/or drive it away. Even without the Jvanic aversion influencing them, fibrelings are notorious for poaching and torturing hain to death for fun. However, Violet is probably smart enough to disguise herself as a piece of clothing to go by unnoticed.

Keep in mind, that's just for a fibreling. The Jvanic aversion is not necessarily a murderous one. Every hain has to face their aversion directly in adolescence during their second hatching, so they can tolerate a Jvanic presence to an extent. It just an amplified creepiness and nausea that they feel when seeing, hearing, touching, or otherwise sensing it. They prefer not to have it in their daily lives, but only a minority of tribes actively hunt down and destroy it where they can find it.

Take a sculptor, for instance. Hain will readily tolerate a sculptor living nearby as they are useful translators, traders, sages, and such. The sculptors will always be pariahs and will probably not be welcome to stay within their communities, but they won't be killed. The ostracism will have been especially reinforced after the blinding purge, as the realta specifically targeted Jvanic things as a priority.

Don't forget that harboring Jvanic things also paints a red target on a hain for djinn like Basheer (who in one post basically tortured and killed an entire village over this), so that's another reason that Jvanic things are probably kept at an arm's length.

In other news, I need to vent.

Making that post sucked. Not only did I procrastinate it for far too long in hopes of polishing it up (I feel like if I'm gonna kill a god I may as well make the post half decent), but after clicking preview to check for BBcode errors I accidentally hit cancel and lost all my progress at one point. Which made me have to restart from about halfway through the post.

I physically screamed in rage and pounded my desk, then immediately got to work rewriting it all in one spree. I'M STILL PISSED. Didn't have the patience to proofread or anything. Forget about any errors, I'm done.

*storms out of RPGuild*

Maybe I'll be back in a week or two when I've cooled down.

If it's any consolation, it's still a very nice post. These things get easier to handle over time. I lost my very first character sheet in my very first roleplay the same way, so we're all with you in the rage boat.

There are browser apps that back up what you type into text boxes, though, to buffer against this kind of bullshit. I use one called Lazarus, which is a touch old but still works fine.

I just don't write anywhere that doesn't back up my work automatically. This means I only go to the RPGuild to read posts and copy and paste my already-written posts into the textbox.

@Antarctic Termite How does it work exactly? I've installed it to chrome and I've got the little icon where all the app icons are. But have no idea if it's functioning or not, or how to access where things are meant to be saved.

Little ankh icon appears at the top right of a given text box, gives a list of saved revisions if you click it when the app is enabled. That's what it does for me, anyway.

In others news, the next turn will likely arrive on the 30th of May. On the 1st of June our partial-hiatus will officially come to a close. Not that it seems to have been much of a hiatus really, partial or otherwise xDD

TFW people make big IC posts, and everyone is talking about them, but it's late and I have assignments and practise to do and need to sleep some time too.

P.S. Sleep lost this battle.

P.P.S. The Primordial Spark is bloody terrifying. I now have another reason for Teknall to continue start his secret construction project.

WHOOPS

I accidentally popped something in the IC instead of here. Doesn't matter, I have more posts upcoming so I can edit something in to fill that gap soon.

This is what I meant to post, though.

That feel is one shared in this heart too, brother.

@Antarctic Termite I was about to call an intervention on you for such a fast IC post.

Also YES I KNOW ANGLE GRINDERS ARE CANON. I'M OVER IT I SWEAR.

Thanks, I might look into that. This is far from the first time I've lost significant progress on a post. Actually, probably 10% of my posts probably have at least a few paragraphs deleted but I usually just rewrite said parts and it turns out better the second time.

This time I was just pissed because I was really rushing to finihs the post and (in my eyes at least) it didn't come out better the second time :/

Exhibit A: The angle grinder.

Is all this talk of angle grinders some sort of inside joke that I wasn't privy to?

P.P.S. The Primordial Spark is bloody terrifying. I now have another reason for Teknall to continue start his secret construction project.

I think I've already won the nuclear arms race, Bbeast. The King's Law is my Fat Man and the Primordial Spark is my Tsar Bomba.

It's too late for you to beat me! The end is ienvitable!

I think we both know that assumptions like this are never true when it comes to Divinus...

AKA, you just gave me a new plot prompt.

Talk about it with @Rtron; he specifically asked me to dump a bunch of limbs and body parts over there. Just like he threw chunks of Reathos all over the place. I don't know what he's doing with his morbid collection of body parts strewn across Galbar...

A quest for those sword shards would also be a good plot hook for the likes of Conata if she ever found herself in that end of the world.

Not so much inside anymore. In the last Toun/Teknall/Jvan collab, Chiral Phi specifically mentioned that even if Zephyrion gets pissed at Jvan for making the entropites, she's tough enough that she could weather whatever 'angle grinder's he pulls on her.

In the collab, I commented that mentioning the power tool in a turn of phrase seemed a bit anachronistic. It turned out it wasn't, really, because Teknall has a workshop full of power tools.

Chiral Phi is a character that trolls me almost as much as she trolls Toun, basically.

Pffft. I just got back from my graduation like five minutes ago.

Sitting there was sorta hell.

But man was it funny. Out of 500 people, I was the only one who forgot his cap. I trolled them all! It was slightly embarrassing but also hysterical to see everyone's reactions when I just casually walked out there without the silly hat and tassel.

@Cyclone Congratulations!

I've always had it in my head to try and fist bump the chancellor when he hands me the parchment rather than shake his hand. I have a feeling that he would just die from confusion at these newfangled whippersnappers, though.

Xerxian refugee post up! It's refreshingly short, by my standards.
