@Bushman501 For now, nothing too intricate. Think crude long ranged weaponry along with bows and crossbows.

Understood boss.

Now to come up with a relic. Thinking maybe the manipulation of water.

Anyone who wants to chill in the Valley of Flowers with my character is welcome to. It feels like hobbits and I am a sucker for hobbits.

Problem is, I have quite a few ideas and I can't really decide on a single one xD

EDIT:
Eh~

Think I've got something I've decided on. Ignore me~

How would your character be about? Just asking to see if they're compatible with my WIP character.

@Gobby

Alright, here's an idea for a Relic:

Bangles of the Beast Lord:
These bangles allow the wearer to take a single trait from a downed foe, be it physical trait such as a tigers ears or a special ability such as a spiders poison. As these bangles follow the rule of 'Survival of the fittest' and encourage the hunting of stronger, different foes to gain power they may only take up to three traits from the same creature, and they must kill a grand total of ten for the three different traits. The first trait happens on kill 3, the third on the sixth, and the last on the tenth. After the tenth hunt, no traits can be gained. The physical changes to a person are permanent, and irreversible, as well those wearing them are somewhat compelled to go out and hunt.

Its a bit of a rough idea at the moment, but I think this is what I'm going to be using. Probably will drop her in the Whispering Woods to start with.

@Rune_AlchemistWhoa, that sounds really cool for a relic. It seems like your character has to be very careful on what traits they want to inherit and all ^^

--

@GobbyI also had two ideas for a relic and wanted to pass it through you guys to see what you thought.

First: I originally wanted my character's relic to be a pocket watch that worked both as a pocket watch and sort of like a slot machine; the relic is able to create one out of 100 objects (weapons, clothing, etc.) at a time with it all being based on chance. All my character has to do is press the button on top. Since a pocket watch is pretty small, it only has two displays instead of three like a normal slot machine. Basically the relic is giving my character the power of creation but is held back due to the numbers and having to be lucky on what he gets. (Also wanted to put some sort of drain on my character so that he can't just spam his relic)

Second: I thought of this one when I was working out the kinks of the first one. I was thinking that my relic could be a deck of tarot cards that have been separated across the world. My character would start off with the Fool tarot card, which is what's needed in order for the other cards to work. And by embodying a card, it gives him different abilities. The problem with this is that it might seem too overpowered since the tarot cards can bestow a lot of powers. So I thought of having the cards all be separated and a possible cool down (he can only embody one card every five or so hours?) to make it a lot more fair.

So are at least one of these okay to use?

@Tenma Tendo

Aha thank you! It's not all that different from any sort of...monster reincarnation manga though xD
Just a bit more limited, is all, instead of gaining all the traits from a foe.

And I would imagine so. It also has the potential to be quite powerful if the wearer plays their cards right later on.

I'm still thinking on the particular limitations of it, like if she tried to gain venom from a spider and then venom from a snake, would they combine to form a stronger venom or would one override the other if it was more powerful? I'm leaning a bit towards the latter, if only for more versatility and a bit of creativity, but it might get a bit powerful.

Of course...she'd also need a trait to somehow deliver that venom. Such as fangs, claws, or even a stinger of some sort and it might be a bit difficult to kill all those different creatures xD

Suppose I could make the relic start off with overriding traits, but as the relic got more powerful it would let her combine traits she picked up with others, if applicable. Maybe increase the number of traits she was able to pick up as well - or maybe just increase the traits effectiveness.

details to hammer out with Gobby, I suppose though.

@Rune_Alchemist I like the idea that it follows the concept of survival of the fittest. However, the set of rules that comes along with it, not so much. Gaining irreversible traits is fine with me, always a cool concept. What I'd suggest is that we maintain the prerequisite of defeating an opponent, but I'll be deciding whether you can gain a trait or not. Once you defeat an enemy I've deemed significant, I'll give you options of traits you can choose from. How does that sound?

@Tenma Tendo My only issue with the relics you've suggested is that they sort of do too much. I prefer something more simple since we're just starting out. Something that could easily progress into something stronger. Having multiple items get stronger or multiple abilities from the different tarot cards just seem like a lot.

@Dynamo Frokane Aside from the title, not at all. :3

Aye, if you want to be in control of the traits/things I'd get that's fine with me! I also went ahead and wrote up a bit more about it on my end - leaves a bit of room for the relic to get stronger in some ways. Just a few things that would offer a risk/reward for it and make it a bit more dangerous/risky to try and kill something. If you'd rather not, I'll just clip that bit out.

And have the CS Anyways xD

@Gobby Ah, that's what I was afraid of.

For the pocket watch/slot machine relic, I could make it so that it only starts off with one display? That way, my character can only create up to 10 objects, labeled "0" to "9"? And as the relic grows stronger, either the objects it can create get stronger, a second display shows up giving him more options, or the cool down gets becomes shorter? Of course all the other drawbacks remain the same. Would that be better?

As for the second relic, other than having my character start with only one card, I can't think of a way to make it less broken. So I'll probably just forget that idea.

How does this relic look? I was also thinking of adding the ability to shoot web, but I decided to ask first

Staff of the Spider King:
Made from the claws, fangs, and bones of the ancient creature known as the Spider King. Through magic and perhaps the spirit of the creature itself, when the staff manages to cut skin it releases the same type of venom the Spider King possessed, one that is not lethal but instead paralyzes the enemy and fills them with a sensation of hopelessness. There exist rumors about the relic being just part of the original relic, with its other half hidden when the first user became possessed by the creature the relic was made or the many tales about the users of the staff hearing a voice that is not theirs or dreaming they are trapped in a web. Since no evidence of another part of the relic has been found the story remains a myth, mostly associated to new and idealistic adventurers. Finally, the staff can make itself smaller to make it easier to carry.

He's not done yet, but I was leaning heavily toward a very talkative radical freedom fighter who got plucked into basically hobbiton and has since calmed down, but his ideals are just as strong. No idea on his artifact yet.

I thought of a fun relic that'll be pretty strong later, but silly at first.

Basically, since relics grow stronger as time goes on, so too will the blade. I figured it may develop some divination-style abilities, and may even develop supernatural accuracy. Of course, this also entails more silly abilities!

I have an idea for a character and a relic pair but they're quite lewd so I'm not sure if they're a good idea or not.

Lewd is always acceptable.

Do it.

meanwhile I'll be over here while my character basically turns into a monster girl right outta the MGE~

If you don't know what that is, you don't spend enough time on the internet.
