"Been some twenty odd years since metas started popping up. Frankly? I'm getting sick and tired of it.
Sure, sure, you can say that the heroes balance it out. 'Supersonic defeated Dr.Metamorpho just last week!' you say. Tell that to the twenty people Supersonic liquefied when he was running to the fight.
Look at any source, and it all says the same goddamn thing. Metahumans are the most destructive force this planet has ever faced. They beat out any stat. Metahuman activity worldwide in the last year alone beat out death tolls from terrorism, natural disasters, and suicide, combined. If that isn't a problem, then I don't know what the hell is."
-Senator Joel Alvarez(R) to the Secretary of Defense
Welcome to Collateral Damage. This idea is borne out of a lot of things, including Matt Fraction's run on Hawkeye, The Boys by Garth Ennis, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hardcore Henry, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Essentially, what I'm trying to strike here is a more 'realistic' superhero story, in that superhero combat as depicted in the comics, and recent movies such as Man of Steel and The Avengers is highly destructive.
As far as tone goes, I'm looking for what I can only describe as the bastard lovechild of Guardians of the Galaxy, Hardcore Henry, and Kingsman. Your character would be able to be a superhero, villain, or part of a Governmental Anti-Cape squad. There would, of course, be copious amounts of violence.
