Hi all,

I'm used to tabletop and larping, so I thought I would give this a try. I'm a Gold Coast (Australia) girl and hope to get to know you all via RPing. Looking for something decent and lengthy, that doesn't necessarily require a lot of specific knowledge (e.g. a specific game or dice to determine stats). Hope to chat soon, and have a break from the crazy dull world we live in.

@rhiann90 No problem at all. :) All you really need to do is either check out the interest checks or the actual RP threads find something that might interest you and then either mention the GM in the Rp thread ask if it's open. Or express interest in the interest check threads. :)

What settings are you looking for beyond not needing too much knowledge about a game or somesuch?

What do you consider "decent and lengthy"?

@Ellri I don't mind the setting, provided that it isn't part of a specific fandom/rule set. I don't want to just write a paragraph (so I guess that makes me at least a casual player). I would like an interaction with others as well, not just reactionary to events by the GM (not ready for just 1on1 yet). I would consider "decent and lengthy" a few pages at least. (I'm guessing this based on a few that I have looked over that it's quite easy to do. I don't want like when I have played some table tops for it to only be a few "days" then it was done. I will put effort into making a character and responding (I once played a campaign that lasted over two years meeting weekly). I've not been successful IRL finding people I can interact with beyond the "maybe once a month/two months". Or if I have, they seek to win every time, throw fits when they lose, and create characters that are in essence gods (hence my fear of specific fandom/rule sets).

So, what kind of genres are you interested in? Fantasy? Modern? Sci-fi?

@Aristocles I'm more interested in fantasy/sci-fi than modern, at the moment, but am willing to give it a shot down the line. I just want an escape from reality.

Welcome! I suggest going to the Casual Interest Checks forum and looking around for ideas that sound interesting. You could also check out the Casual RP forum and look for in progress games that are looking for recruits. I'd offer one of my games, but most of mine require stats, etc. Hope you enjoy your time here!

Oh, and to apply to an in-progress game, just post in the OOC thread. I suggest reading through the opening post, gather any questions you have, and ask if there's an opening. Unless the RP is marked "Full," there is a possibility of an open spot.

Only RPs we are involved in probably don't fit the bill, @rhiann90.
one is a fantasy NRP (nation Roleplay) with lots of GM and player created lore (lore that can be a bit chaotic to sort through.
The other is an advanced Star Wars RP, which is also pretty lore-heavy. Even if much of the lore is collected to be more easily accessible than the Wikia.

If any of that should interest you in spite of what we guessed from your posts above, then feel free to say so. If they do not, then good luck with whatever RPs that do catch your interest.
