Some shit occurred, resulting in my contract being terminated so I'm back in the USA...unhappily. So in other words, posting can resume whenever everyone's able.

Thanks guys. It's been a struggle this past week or so. Everyone's been really nice and though I did my best, I still feel like I failed. I haven't been discriminated against in a while and I feel partly to blame for not disclosing my low vision but at the same time, I didn't think it was an issue but I also assumed someone would have noticed during our skype calls and would have said something. But I'm home, trying to find work or decide to get a (useless) Masters.

So a few posts would be nice to distract myself. :3

Japan was fucking awesome and really cheap so I hope to go back but Japanese companies suck ass. So I guess in a way, I'm better off.

Japanese companies arent exactly known for being employee friendly.

For instance, Konami is the biggest steaming pile of garbage I've seen in a while. They actively work against former employees, pressuring other companies not to hire them, and they forbid former employees from putting that they worked for Konami on their resume. Its all a bunch of shit.

Seriously? That's pretty sleazy.

I know my company (Amity) also pushes for folks to not speak up when needing to be paid for overtime. And even then, it's hard to get it approved and added to your monthly salary. And they encourage fellow teachers to compete against each other for students. And even when we get days off they wanted us to give TWO MONTHS in advance and that while we're entitled to take them, that it is very inconvenient for us to use them. So yeah, they do treat their employees like shit.

Not to mention by overworking them, no one is procreating. Japan gets in its own way a lot.

Okey dokey I've been trying to be a better GM and player lately and as such I feel like I need to work on my OOC presence. How are the two of you holding up. @Genkai have you found work back here in the states? I'm actually mildly jealous that you got to work in Japan at all though I'm sad to see it didn't work out.

@vietmyke I feel like we keep crossing paths but I know next to nothing about you and it's criminally negligent on my part

@Themerlinhawk No work yet sadly. I've been brainstorming ideas. Do I go back to school or find a terrible job for now? I will apply through JET come October which is probably the better way to get into Japan and not get fucked by their discrimination. JET is a government run education program, as opposed to going through private companies like I did and thousands of others. Sadly JET is highly competitive to get into so I'm not crossing my fingers that will even work out...

I've actually been pretty sick the past 2 weeks. I think my asthma was triggered and it became some awful upper viral infection thing because I've been dealing with a horrid cough for a long time and nothing seems to help, not even special cough syrup with amazing painkillers. So I'm mostly writing whenever I have energy but I'm pretty much in shitty health and can't do much job hunting until this passes...eventually. :/

I hope you guys have been better though! I should be able to get to this tomorrow afternoon, Friday at the very latest.

@Genkai I'm sorry to hear all that. My life has been going just fine. I managed to step all over my new social life today but that's like a classic Merlin move which is probably reflected in my standoffish characters. I hope you feel better soon whatever you have sounds nasty I do not envy you at all. As for JET I also hope that works out. Take your time with the post since it sounds like you need the rest. The two of us are hardly going anywhere

@Themerlinhawk Thanks. I did not get much sleep last night, it felt like someone took a hot iron to my throat and I'm trying to get a follow-up with my doctor because I'm slowly starting to go insane to be honest. I'm not sure if this is just a horrid bout of asthma or if there's more to it but whenever I exhale or even inhale, my throat gets pretty unhappy and I start hacking up crud. After some reading, it seems a good portion of the US feels this way and I find that pretty hard to fathom. The paranoid part of me thinks I may have some parasite or fungus but you'd thunk the blood tests would have shown that...I will try to get something up though! This is my first item on my ever growing to-do list.

I hope you're doing well, I know it's tough to balance an online life with the offline side of things. :/ I'd say like most things, some days will go better than others but the best thing is to keep trying!
