So I finished the CS, and just as I promised, focused mostly on the siege engines that would support troops. I do not know how many of these I can/should bring, but I plan on using all of them if possible. Not sure how wide the Maw is, but I am certain that the range won't be an issue.

@babbysama The siege tower here is used more like those in the Roman times. I lack the accurate picture, so I added one that looks the best, but it would be very tall, and well defended. Most of my forces would be inside it, firing from these protected positions. Roughly 150 Pioneers who operate the things, and the other 100 Guards to be used as archers. It is also spacious and strong enough to be used as a proper fortification. I am sure that With the proper fortifications around it, and a railways system that I could use to move both this and the rest of my siege equipment, it would be usable even in the last minutes of the battle. Those who wish to stay and die a glorious death could find this to be a very well defendable mobile fortress. I doubt that the archers on the top could be easly shot down, and they would probably be the last to fall.

I dunno if I'm getting a little crazy here but could we make a makeshift fortress out of those siege towers?
just anchor them in the ground somewhere and build something like a palisade between them

No you're not. There is only one siege tower, and it is basically a fortress. It moves on a rail system, but it is a fortress nevertheless. If you look up Siege Tower on wikipedia, the part about Roman use shows the image of a massive sige tower that the romans used.

I did a little more reading into the magical arsenal we have at our disposal, how have me not discussed any potential plans involving them? That rage spell looks very useful; as does the corrosive rain.

@6slyboy6

"Epic Spell - Corrosive Rain: The whole squad can combine their Magic might to create a rain cloud over the Battlefield. Most metal that is touched by the rain will begin to quickly rust and suffer sever corrosion. Making Blades break against armor and armor being as effective as paper. The Spell is so costly that after several minutes of it being held, the War Mages must uncast the spell and cannot use Magic for several hours."

Why yes, yes we do.

EDIT: We need to keep the mages as our dirty little secret for the first day or so.

@Nariata After rethinking, I severely oppose this idea. Just think about the effects on OUR team. I mean, we could be mostly spare, but the corrosive mist that would be created (and later rain down again once it evaporated) could damage our equipment, and ruin the fine mechanics of my machines! I would not have them be damaged if possible.

I feel like they are a key to holding out for long a time. Like, I give ourselves a week, seeing how much insanity we have got right here.

Edit: I am also obsessed with maps, so don't be surprised if I take on MS Paint and create really shitty but devoted battle plans.

I agree. That rain needs to be used as a last ditch, enemies breaking through our lines kind of deal. What good would our soldiers be without swords and armor of our own? I think the Holy Knights are the key, with their healing spells being the most important factor in our favour.

Go look at my Char to see the neato magic spells at our sides disposal. Also I never thought of using it with in the middle of the fight. Its definitely a starter debuff or if we make a tactical retreat, a way to weaken the enemy before we make a 180 and stomp them. I also imagined it as a medium cloud, not a storm. So even if It was used mid fight it could be directed towards the back of the enemy, making them useless when it's their turn to fight.

Inner Rage: Short range area spell that unlocks a Rage that most thought wasn't possible around the Mage. The Rage increases the Savagery of those around the Holy Knight, allowing their bodies to push themselves further than ever before.

I think Gyrid wants someone who could use this spell among her forces :P

@Thecrash20 I just read it, and I am impressed. It's a really cool IC, and I think your guys will be key for holding out against the Sylver Empire. You healing abilities will give us the much needed trickleback, and keep more of our men alive. I do wonder thought, could you possibly hide troops? Maybe use illusion spells to cover up some projectiles or locations? I know they aren't emntioned, but I am interested in the idea.

I was actually thinking that would be a wonderful spell to have, though it might make things easy mode. Imagine, the enemy force approaches what they think is a single enemy only for them to be brutally assaulted by the hidden troops.

Oh ho ho I had a shit ton of Ideas for spells. Had something like that, but instead of being invisible it was going to be a light shot at the enemy and it exploded and all near the explosion would be blinded for a time. Also thought of an area shield spell, but didn't want to put to much crazy things for the GM to have to think about and overwhelm him. So most of them are simple. Bam! Fire balls. Bam! Healing Rays. Bam! Electricity enchantments.

@Nariata Edit: I came up with the rage one for the Calvary and Heavy Infantry. It also came to help my guys out. While each one of the mages is quite powerful in their own right (the chosen are 'rumored' to be able to take on 35 men at once). So while they are will be support for the overall army, they themselves are a threat and aid in combat not in just the heals.

I'm just really waiting for the GM to tell me how many equioment I can bring. I don't have a problem with assembling things on site, but I want to know how much I can bring with myself. Realistically, bringing the materials of one fortress would be a job for the entire party. I can cheat and say I pulled it with horses (not that far fetched actually), but I would still need to bring those things I cannot pull. Like the Mangonels, and the Wyvern Ballista. Plus the shells.

goddamn logistics

Edit: I just used bring in almost every sentence. I haven't slept all night, please excuse my mistakes.

@Nariata I ain't rushing stuff, I am just saying. I cannot form many plans without knowing the size of my forces.

Plus next week I won't have any internet, and I don't want to miss out on the grand opening scene :D

@Everyone: I am really glad to see some of the things you guys are discussing. Very interesting. Do not worry, Alaric does not metagame. Just know he's going to be sizing you up, seeing what you're capable of, and ultimately try to counter the things you throw at him.

The first battle should be relatively easy; it mainly serves a purpose to familiarize everybody with the mechanics of the RP, and ICly introduces Alaric to the Western armies. The second battle will be tougher, with 'higher tier' soldiers. I have a third battle planned with some interesting political/faction drama on Alaric's side, and you can use that at your discretion.

@6slyboy6: I know how it is, I'm quite busy with work myself. No problem. You have a nice sized bio, lol, and it's something I am going to need to review this Friday or Satuday. I really like the 'theme' of the character and the siege stuff looks very interesting, and I think I'd like to see it work... I'll get back to you this weekend!
