Conscripts An Atom Trying to Understand Itself

Member Seen 13 hrs ago

I do intend to do something similar to @6slyboy6. BY routing their sub-commander's forces, thus destroying their command center of the battle, which will be very likely to demolish their morale. Maybe kill him as well if there isn't any plot armour in place. Hopefully in the second or the third day I can do that, otherwise the more disciplined troops will negate this strategy

Well, time to assemble the printing machine. I might use oil instead of ink because, you know, I brought tons of flammable fluids to battle instead of ink. Unless you have some squids lying around.

I also have awesome plans for the elephants, so I might not be able to fully operate everything I brought on the first day cause I have mayor construction ideas that I want to undertake. I hope that by the second day of the battle, we can have basic stockades, the mountanisde passes, and maybe some cool other invention thingies that are circulating my mind. We'll see.

...I would like to argue that my Uruk's didn't flee like cowards. They had fired their shots, they weren't hanging around for a counter attack in the event that the Empire launched an early attack to try and avenge their fallen officer.

Oh I agree with you. I just didn't know how else to put it lol. I took it as a hit and run Assassination attempt. One that probably could work in our favor due to them losing a commander, but sadly the Counsel of Wizards isn't really on the West or East side politically. So I had to make a move. Regardless GM said he wouldn't die.

@6slyboy6: Is that fire spitter going to be on the tower? Remember, we're not going to be assaulting Alaric's walls. The engagements will be focused on pitched field battles. But I don't think I saw anything wrong with the fire spitter, so I guess you can use it.

@TJByrum I know we won't be assaulting his wall, but I gave context to every single artillery piece I have.

And yes, the fire spitter will probably be on the tower, unless I come up wuth another brilliant idea to effectively use it.

On an elephant. Charge the elephants in, with fire coming from their "mouths" as they charge the lines.

@Nariata I thought about it, but combining elephants equipped with wood armor and flamethrowers makes for trouble. Especially since whichever elephant would receive this, will be top priority for the enemy archers, and an elephant is a big target.

Then again, I could make it work with some hides over it so it doesn't catch fire, but that doesn't change the fact that a heavy ballista shot could take down the elephant and the Flametounge with it, which could in term set ablaze many ouf our own troops.

But it is up to @Conscripts to decide if he wants to risk an elephant to turn it into a flamethrowing tank of utter awesomness and self combustibility.

@Nariata Oh lol, sarcasm doesn't translate well

I was wondering how you'd stuff this thing up their ass so they could spew fire from their mouth

If possible, that would scare the living crap out of any army; I don't care who you are. "I heard songs of dragons when I was a kid, about how they roared in the night as they swept down melting the skin off the bones of any soul unlucky enough to be caught in their wake. I thought I was scared of dragons. I... I encountered a new monster on the fields of the Maw, a monster who has the nose that stretched out like a giant snake, tusks as long as spears, and a demeanor so aggressive they shrugged off both javelin and arrow. Then, in unison, these beasts raised their noses, released a shrill noise which sounded like a thousand trumpets playing out of tune as one. And then the fire came, and I never thought of dragons as monsters ever again."

~Scared Sh!%-less soldier, alternate timeline.

We should definitely have a dedicated corps of medics, because it'll definitely get bloody.

If we do have healing mages, though, let's try and limit their power a bit, because our actions should have real consequences.

While they should have that, I think the limited number of mages at our disposal do that for us. They won't be able to heal everyone, though I think the enemy will make them a priority.
