Roles

There will be RPG based games in which a character will need to choose a 'Role' to play. The character will be allowed to pick their roles based on who won the previous game. No character can have the same role as another, winning the games will give you advantages or disadvantages depending on their situation and the choices left to them.

Example: couple A comes in 3rd place in the previous game, they'll be the third pair allowed to pick their roles. So say the roles are Archer, Rogue, Healer, Mage, Knight, Gunner, Monk, Pirate, Demolitionist, Scientist, Druid, and Tactician. The first pair chooses of course the Healer and the knight; those two roles cannot be used by another pair, they have to pick from the remaining 8 roles left after the 2nd place pair chooses their roles.

So this is basically all for the big 'Final Game' I have in mind so you don't need to pay too much attention to the roles right now. I simply wrote it all down so I could keep track of it.

The Rogue

The Rogue role is basically a thief, specializing in daggers, stealth, and speed. This role is used to its best when setting up ambushes for enemies or a job that requires stealing from another pair. The Rogue is best paired with the Knight to balance out the Rogue's lack of defenses. Rogues can only don light leather armors but their special skill is duel wielding daggers, no other role can do this. Those light on their feet are best suited to this role and receive a passive that makes them harder to hear when hidden in shadows that they can manipulate but only minorly. A rogue's weakness is a mage.

The Archer

The Archer is the only one capable of wielding a bow, specializing in its use to the point that an archer can take out a gunner much easier than the Archer can be taken out by that same gunner. They specialize in Sight and dexterity, are the only ones capable of using Sight to take proper aim. Sight is a skill that allows an archer to see a greater distance than a normal person. An archer can wear slightly heavier leather plate armor but nothing higher than that, the last skill an archer possesses is the ability to almost melt into trees, not literally its just as if the tree can provide an amazing hiding place. An archer's weakness is a knight.

The Healer

The Healer role is blessed in light and holy magic, they can only heal injuries but cannot bring the dead back to life, life threatening injuries can be healed but in only very special circumstances. A healer has a single defensive spell, a barrier that can only take a limited number of hits, a healer needs a knight or some sort of offensive role to be put to proper use. Healers are weak to rogue's especially but as they can only limitedly defend themselves any offensive role can beat the Healer.

The Mage

The mage is a spellcaster who specializes in elemental magics, they're purely offensive, lacks health, has high mana but can only wear robes and has no defenses. Basically a glass cannon and if monk gets too close that monk can take out a mage easily. Staffs are the weapon of choice for this role, and their magic messes with the shadows that a rogue can manipulate and their passive allows them to sense 'life' around them. They're best paired with someone who can shield them.

The Knight

The knight is a defender who is the only one capable of wielding a sword and a shield. They wear heavy armor, are slow moving but powerful, they have no particular abilities besides defending and sword skill, rogues can give them trouble with their speed but thankfully have that heavy armor, if used correctly a knight can counter many of the other roles, all except the gunner, armor could deflect some bullets but not all of them.

The Gunner

The gunner is one of two classes capable of using a gun, though the gunner's gun is more advanced than the blunderbuss' the pirate wields. They can wear decently heavy armor but nothing over iron, they need a line of sight to aim their weapon properly, of course they can use a rifle as well, they have specialized equipment to enhance their guns, they can switch between a paralyzing dart and ammo meant to kill. While they are limited in range and sight they can be utilized in many other ways.

The Monk

The monk is a fast and disciplined martial artist who wields the claw weapons, like knuckle dusters but with a blade on the end. They tend to move quickly and with deadly precision, their faith gives them fairly high defenses though they are still human they are fairly capable. Pairing them with an archer works well but the gunner is the monk's most dangerous enemy as they only wear robes and have to get close to enemies to fight properly.

The Pirate

The pirate is a capable almost brawler type character who wields a blunderbuss and a curved blade, they can wield these at the same time though not as efficiently as the rogue. Pirate armor is unique in style and uses, it can only be made of leather and cloth though. Pirates fight dirty, always have, they don't have that good of defense though and unlike the gunner their ammo for their gun is far more limited, being focused mostly on sword fighting. Pirates are particularly nasty for the fact they like poisons and the like, pairing a pirate with a scientist is always a good idea.

The Demolitionist

The Demolitionist is a unique role to the world and is capable of using explosives, though they have a limited number of each type of explosive they're among the most tech focused of all the roles; alongside the scientist. They're fairly normal in the fact they wear no armor just regular clothes but they can detonate their explosives from a distance. They have their advantages and disadvantages as all the roles, a scientist is their biggest weakness, pairing them with a gunner works wonders as a Demolitionist can destroy things that are blocking their line of sight.

The Scientist

The Scientist is tech heavy but also capable of mixing various chemicals, toxins, and even medicines, they have limited ingredients though so must choose carefully what they mix. A scientist can only wield a stun rod to defend themselves from the other roles. They are most advantageous when paired with a pirate but should try and stay out of the main fights, choosing to be a poison master or a medicine maker.

The Druid

The Druid uses a very particular type of magic that allows them to temporarily tame plants and animals to fight for them, they're dangerous enemies to have but if an enemy can get around their summoned allies that leaves the Druid defenseless, they can wield a dart gun but have limited access to their darts, of which all their darts are non-lethal. Pairing them with a Tactician is a fairly smart move and the Druid is particularly useful against the Archer.

The Tactician

The Tactician is a unique role as they tend to wield tomes but can only use magic from the time they carry, of which they usually have three options, lightning, ice, or wind. They have minimal sword skill as well but their main role is to guide their allies from behind, each elemental tome also gives the Tactician a 'buff' ability of which they can help their ally with, wind increasing speed, lightning increasing strength, and ice increasing defenses. Pairing with a Druid can provide a fair amount of protection for the Tactician as they can give instruction to the Druid for their summoned allies, they are observant and intelligent, however a gunner can easily take them out of play.

Data, Microchips, and Points

Microchips and Data devices, these are tools Dungeon Master uses to both keep your character safe and keep track of them. The microchip acts as a security guard against her security system, if it's removed or deactivated it's likely the character will be harmed by her security system if not killed out right.

Data devices keep track of the points your characters earn, if you lose your data device you will be disqualified from the game. No one knows what DM does with you if you're disqualified though. Leaving the players to speculate though with the warning of "You will regret it."

Points, in other words a score card that DM grades you on and you gain points based on several things. Speed, the fastest to finish the game. Creativity, how outside of the box you think to solve the problem, and yes Teamwork, how well you work with your matching partner and other pairs when you have to work together. Each game itself will have one specific score you won't know about until the games begin.

Events

Events are dangerous games that DM has planned and pairs of characters must compete in. There are prizes for winning a game and a 2 day rest period between games. I'll post when it's time to move between the days, though I want a day to be five pages long, you'll be allowed to back post but be sure to move forward when it's necessary, thank you~. I have a few ideas for events and will list the events in order as they'll be made to happen, the details of the event will be posted in IC, just for decently quick access if you can't remember the rules laid out for that game.

There are rules to the island though as well, which you'll hear about once we get started. Here's the start of the list. I'll add more as needed but these are the first three events I've got planned. Of which the details will be kept secret until the RP starts. ^.^

1. Seek Out
2. Twisted Paintball
3. City of Deceit

Virtua Island Information

Welcome to Virtua Islands

This is Dungeon Master's home and where you'll be participating in the games. The island is new and has only recently been discovered, well at least it's been thirty years since the islands were discovered by a married couple named Orpheus and Eurydice Salude those thirty years ago and then they suddenly vanished ten years ago. Dungeon Master lives there now though, and it's just a little bit of history on the Virtua Islands.

Participants will be starting on a smaller center island, called Vita Isle, the biggest island is Virtua Isle, and the medium sized island is known as Viral Isle. Each island has its own dangers and quirks but all islands are connected to the place where DM resides.

Vita Isle

Vita Isle is the least dangerous of the islands smaller than the other two islands but still big enough that the games will work on this island. Vita is very mountainous compared to the other two islands, being mostly mountain with spurts of forest scattered across the island, save one rather thick forest. There are several locations on Vita itself.

The Abandoned Hotel- A hotel on the northern side of the island that seems as if it's been left to rot since long before the 30 years the island became known to the public. It's interior is made up mostly of plant life and such now and the floors are very weak, thankfully the little hotel is only 3 stories tall and it's possible to explore it somewhat safely, as long as you're careful.

The Caves- starting from the center of the two main mountains are a pair of caves, one leading inside each mountain, the caves are winding and labyrinthine, and there are many exits but be careful following these paths as several could drop you to your death, so walk carefully.

The Beach- there is a single beach on this island, it's longer more than the strip of beach is thick, many little fairly harmless creatures can be found here, it's an ideal meeting place for the pairs, this is the least dangerous location on Vita.

The Deep Forest- This is the thickest forest on Vita and it allows very little light in, its dark and houses a few more harmful creatures than the rest of the island though they're still not likely to attack you unless threatened. Running through the middle of the forest is a river, and that river seems to disappear underground at some point, it's still there though because standing near the hole it vanishes into what sounds like a waterfall and the hole is just big enough to fall in if you're not careful.

The Underground River- as the name suggests this is an underground river, the river is connected to the Deep Forest, it runs under the entire Vita Isle and despite it being under ground is one of the biggest areas on the island, with dead ends, branching paths leading off the main river, and there are exits; few and far between though they are; that can bring you to the surface. Behind the waterfall is a small cave where at it's center is a strangely deep underground lake, above it is an opening that's connected to the caves, the fall is scary high being about 35 feet up, but if done correctly you can jump into the water below safely.

The Village - on Vita Isle there's a small abandoned village, although it seems very recently abandoned, the village sits on the outskirts of The Deep Forest, and despite how small it is seems to have supplies that can help travelers. Be wary staying here at night though for the ghosts of the suddenly deceased villages tend to roam and haunt anyone unlucky enough to stick around. Best survival tip for this area? Get your supplies and get out. Walking the opposite way of The Deep Forest you'll arrive at The Beach after traveling for a day or two away from the Village.

Virtua Island

Virtua Island is the most tech heavy Island, the most developed, a self sufficient city exists on this island known as Hurania City, there are bots and maybe even a person or two aside from DM that exists there. As a result there are stores for humans just as much as robots, each robot has its own AI as well and responds as if a real human, thus confusing most as they look human too. DM has had too much time alone to build all these things.

The rest of the island is under development, construction sites scattered all around the place. There is a town hidden in the trees and in this town is a dark and frightening underbelly of the beautiful islands. Yet each person has a microchip so DM must not be picky about their players, point in fact those running the under ground shows are often asked to do menial tasks by DM to stay safe as DM can disable a microchip from their home computer.

The last little town is a farming village on the island, it raises livestock, grows fruits and vegetables all year round, providing the food on the islands to those DM allows access to the islands. Yet still robots take care of many people in this little town, acting as nurse maids when finding someone injured, and are persistent in keeping their gardens safe, so if you accidentally trample anything the robots of the town will come for you and anyone you know, sometimes forcing DM to shut them down and restart.

Viral Island

This is the most dangerous island in the Trio of Virtua Islands, many poisonous, vicious, and heavily prey driven predators live here. There are also a number of poisonous plants and deadly swamps on this medium sized island. Even DM hasn't looked around this island much. She does have cameras set up on it though, although she made several of her handmade build bots do this. Not much is known about Viral Isle aside from the fact it is extremely dangerous, untamed, and wild.

This seems very fleshed out and like you have a decent enough plan to get all of us killed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Can our characters die in this RP? Will there be a drawn map? Cause the islands sound amazing and I'd love to see a map of some sort.

Really good work. Is GM a fleshed out character? This is just pire interest. She sure has reasons and probably a mental illness that makes her drag people to those islands and play her games.

If characters are able to die (get eliminated) in this RP, I can see myself being the first to drop dead. ^^

Well...nooooo your characters can't die that wouldn't be any fun...and yeah DM is a fleshed out character. She's actually one of my favorites I've made. As for the Islands I used to have images but well...I can't upload images directly to this site so it's a bit difficult! And...DM doesn't really have a mental illness...so much as she just can't stand how much society relies on technology (even though she's a freaking genius and can build her own androids)@KahleenCuthald

Also I sorta wrote this all down like...a year or so ago? And the idea kinda stuck so...

@Jiatsu Hoshido For the picture issue, you can simply post them to Twitter or Pinterest or whatever. You could make a throwaway account for that sake. And then after posting you copy the url and use it to put the images into your RPG site. That's how I do it when I have pics I wanna use but can't find them or bother to look for them on the internet. I have always post them on Pinterest very randomly just to have an url.

Im actually glad they cant die.

I can see the knight being a first to pick role. It goes well with pretty much everything. ^.^

So anyway, if you die in game (which I think is possible), our character will be revived? And where if they are?

@Conscripts as I said I wouldn't actually kill off any characters. So you'll be fine~ in the games/events it'll sorta act as a..."when this thing on your body is destroyed you lose." Deal.
